Brentford v Liverpool
Everyone knows by now that 12:30am on a Saturday is Jurgen Klopp’s least favourite kick-off time but the league leaders will start as clear favourites at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Only Manchester City have scored more goals than the Reds in the top flight this term but the underlying numbers (xG) suggest Liverpool have generated the most threat.
The visitors are likely to be without Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah this weekend but the likes of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez should have too much firepower for the Bees.

Thomas Frank’s men are 16th in the form table over the last ten fixtures and while the return of Ivan Toney has boosted their hopes, it’s difficult to look past an away win.

Manchester City v Chelsea
The first thing to note is that the defending champions have won 11 games in a row in all competitions and remain unbeaten at home this season.
Score Predictor users will remember the reverse fixture between these two teams finished 4-4 but Pep Guardiola’s men have raised their level since.
The Blues continue to blow hot and cold having been overpowered by Liverpool and dismantled by Wolves before encouraging victories over Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.
Chelsea look good when everything clicks but they’re still too easily thrown into disrepair, as evidenced by the fact they’re tenth in the table having won ten times and lost ten times.
37% of Score Predictor users have submitted a 3-1 home win at this stage which feels about right – City have struggled for clean sheets this campaign.

Sheffield United v Brighton
The Seagulls have won two, drawn two, lost two in their last six league games – a Score Predictor user’s nightmare.
That being said, a meeting with the team currently rooted to the bottom of the table has to be considered a favourable match-up.
The Blades won their third league game of the season last time out but the Bramall Lane faithful will have kept their feet on the ground as only Burnley have earned fewer points at home at this stage.
Brighton have only won three times on the road in the top flight but they’ll feel confident ahead of this weekend having beaten Sheffield United 5-2 in the FA Cup last month.
The home fans may get something to cheer at least as Roberto De Zerbi’s men don’t really do clean sheets.

Luton v Manchester United
The Red Devils have seemingly turned a corner of late with only Man City and Liverpool above them in the form table (last six games) at present.
Rasmus Hojlund has found his shooting boots with Alejando Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes providing plenty of support behind the Danish striker.
As a result, Man United have scored 15 goals in their last five outings in all competitions – a far cry from their underwhelming attacking stats throughout the first half of the campaign.
That being said, their defence is still prone to strange ten-minute spells when everything goes pear-shaped but their results are undoubtedly heading in the right direction.
As for the Hatters, their defeat to Sheffield United last time out was a real spanner in the works.
Prior to that loss (probably the first time they haven’t been underdogs in the league since promotion) they had gone unbeaten in six games, which included a surprise thrashing of Brighton and a crazy 4-4 draw with Newcastle.
Rewind a couple of months and it would have been easy to envisage United coming unstuck at Kenilworth Road on a Sunday afternoon but their in-form attack should have enough to carry them through this one.

Everton v Crystal Palace
After a decent run before Christmas, the Toffees are now without a win in 11 games and are once again threatened by relegation, mostly because of their ten-point deduction of course.
However, Sean Dyche’s side have had the wood over the Eagles of late.
In fact, Monday night’s meeting will be the fourth time these two teams have played each other since November 11th – with wins for Everton either side of a 0-0 draw.
At the time of writing, it’s unclear who will be in the dugout for Palace at Goodison Park but they’ll have their work cut out trying to get a tune out of the visitors’ available players – frequent injuries to Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have been hugely detrimental.
Both these teams desperately struggle to score goals so it’s unlikely to be a festival of attacking football and we suspect it’s the type of encounter that will leave neither set of supporters satisfied.

Manchester City v Everton
Pep Guardiola’s side are in ominous form heading into this one having won their last nine games in all competitions.
Everton fought for a spirited 2-2 draw against Tottenham last time out but that volume of goals is rare.
Only the current top three have conceded fewer league goals than the Toffees this season but, on the flip side, only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored fewer goals in the top flight.

As if to illustrate this point, Sean Dyche’s men were involved in three 0-0 draws in January (all comps).
Everton would be sandwiched between Chelsea and Bournemouth in mid-table were it not for their points deduction and they’re solid enough to avoid a thrashing at the Etihad but have they got what it takes to earn a point?
The reverse fixture occurred between Christmas and New Year and finished 3-1 to City so the safe money is on a win for the favourites again this Saturday.

Nottingham Forest v Newcastle
The Magpies have caused all sorts of issues for Score Predictor users lately.
Eddie Howe’s men sprang a surprise win at Villa Park to end Unai Emery’s long unbeaten streak on home soil before last weekend’s chaotic 4-4 draw with Luton.
It’s hard to get a read on them right now.
Forest could have done without their FA Cup replay against Bristol City going the distance to a penalty shootout on Wednesday night – increasing the likelihood of some tired legs this coming Saturday.
This match-up pits the team with the fifth-worst home record against the side with the fifth-worse away record.
Although what that means exactly, it’s hard to say.

West Ham v Arsenal
These teams are separated by just four places in the table but they were worlds apart last weekend when the Gunners triumphed over table-toppers Liverpool on the same day the Hammers succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
David Moyes’ side are without a win since late December but it’s worth noting that victory came at the Emirates.
However, Mikel Arteta’s troops have refocused since then while West Ham fans have grown increasingly discontent with their team’s performances.
Arsenal boast the joint-best defensive record in the league at this stage and the underlying numbers (xGA) suggest they have restricted their opponents better than any other unit.
It’s not often we predict a clean sheet for the away side but on this occasion…

Aston Villa v Manchester United
As previously mentioned, Villa Park was an impenetrable fortress prior to Newcastle’s victory there and Chelsea’s 3-1 result in the midlands in midweek dealt further damage to the Villains’ lair.
The Red Devils will also take heart from their previous meeting with Villa – that impressive comeback win on Boxing Day.
Erik ten Hag’s troops desperately struggled to score goals in the first half of the season but they seemed to have turned a corner with Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund all among the goals in their last seven outings.
That being said, the fact remains that only Liverpool and Man City have scored more league goals than Villa in 2023/24.

Crystal Palace v Chelsea
The Blues continue to blow hot and cold under Mauricio Pochettino.
Last weekend’s defeat to Wolves prompted a torrent of criticism but pundits were forced to praise their efforts at Villa Park on Wednesday night.
Such swings are a nightmare for Score Predictor users.
It might be wise to focus on the Eagles in this match-up as they will once again be without the talented duo of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.
First-choice centre-back Marc Guehi has joined the injury-prone midfielders on the sidelines as well.

It’s an interesting match-up on Saturday lunchtime as the Toffees have kept eight clean sheets in the league this season – the joint-most in the top flight alongside Arsenal and Liverpool – while Spurs are currently on a club-record run of scoring in consecutive games.
Something’s got to give.
Weirdly, Sean Dyche’s men have performed much better on the road this campaign – only Sheffield United and Burnley have earned fewer points at home.
On a similar theme, no team has scored more goals than Ange Postecoglou’s troops away from home.

More broadly, the hosts have won just two of their 22 league fixtures since promotion – it’s really not looking good.
Ollie Watkins ended his mini goal drought with a consolation strike against Newcastle and he couldn’t have asked for a more favourable opponent this weekend to kick on.
Sheffield United average roughly one goal per home game and Villa’s defence hasn’t held up all that well on the road so we’re inclined to predict something for the Bramall Lane faithful to celebrate at least.

Manchester United v West Ham
Only Liverpool have taken more points than West Ham from their last ten league games.
Many neutrals will have failed to note the impressive nature of the Hammers’ form and the visitors will be further bolstered by the return of Mohammed Kudus – the Ghana star was superb before he departed for AFCON.
As for the Red Devils, it’s hard not to be underwhelmed by their campaign.
Erik ten Hag’s side have won six of their 11 home league fixtures but they’ve got a negative goal difference at Old Trafford.
David Moyes’ men beat Man United in May and December of last year in the league but both those games were at the London Stadium – West Ham haven’t won at Old Trafford in the league since 2007.

Arsenal v Liverpool
Sunday’s late kick-off will have a significant impact on the title race one way or the other.
The Reds won at the Emirates in the FA Cup three weeks ago but the Gunners had more than their fair share of chances before the visitors took control.
Mikel Arteta’s side triumphed in the last league game between these two teams in North London but that 3-2 win was their only victory against Liverpool in the last 12 meetings in all competitions.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have only lost one league game all season while Arsenal have suffered defeat just once at home.
A draw is a perfectly logical prediction but Liverpool looked really good against an in-form Chelsea last time out.
Let’s try manifest a thriller…

Brentford v Manchester City
The treble winners have won eight consecutive games in all competitions and with Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland all available again after their respective injuries, the warning signs are ominous for the rest of the Premier League.
Here’s the thing though, City have struggled to keep clean sheets, certainly in relation to their dominance – they even conceded a goal at home to Burnley this week.
For that reason we’re predicting a goal for the Bees but 15 goals conceded in their last six league games suggests the hosts are not equipped to withstand Pep Guardiola’s well-oiled machine.

And we’re inclined to predict a clean sheet for the hosts because a) only Liverpool have conceded fewer league goals this season, and b) only Sheffield United and Burnley have scored fewer goals than the Eagles.
Roy Hodgson’s side are even less likely to pose a threat without Michael Olise in their ranks – the stylish winger is expected to be sidelined with injury a little while longer.
Palace have won just one of their last 11 games in all competitions – a victory over a desperately out-of-form Brentford – and the fans have been vocal in their discontent of late.
It feels like a routine home win for the stronger team, despite Arsenal’s disappointing results since Christmas.

Brentford v Nottingham Forest
These two sides are separated by just point as it stands but there’s daylight between them in the form table.
Forest are benefiting from Nuno Espirito Santo’s New Manager Bounce having beaten Newcastle and Manchester United in their last two league games.
Conversely, the Bees are without a win since December 2nd and consequently find themselves bottom of the form table.
However, Thomas Frank will be able to play his trump card this Saturday in the form of Ivan Toney, who is available again having served his lengthy suspension.
Brentford have won only three of their ten home games in the top flight this term while Forest have won just twice on the road.

Sheffield United v West Ham
On the surface, this is a meeting between a side destined for relegation against a team currently in the top six.
However, the Hammers’ strength in depth is being tested with Mohammed Kudus at AFCON and Lucas Paqueta sidelined with injury.
The final member of their impressive front three, Jarrod Bowen, is nursing an ankle problem but it’s said he may recover in time to play some part against the Blades.
David Moyes’ side drew 0-0 with Brighton last time out in the league and have since fallen to Bristol City in the FA Cup.
That being said, it’s hard to ignore the fact Sheffield United have mustered just nine points since promotion and currently have a goal difference of -34!

Bournemouth v Liverpool
The Reds beat the Cherries 9-0 last season but that was at Anfield and a lot has changed since then.
At present, both are among the Premier League’s most in-form sides with Andoni Iraola’s troops having won four in a row before they lost to Tottenham in their most recent league outing.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have scored 17 league goals away from home compared to 26 at Anfield and they will be without key players Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold on Sunday.
And yet, an away win still feels most likely as the visitors will still be able to field a starting line-up full of firepower.

Brighton v Wolves
Monday night’s match-up could be a fun one.
The Seagulls have only registered one clean sheet in domestic football this season but they average over two goals a game on home soil while Wolves come in undefeated in five (all comps) having won their last three consecutive league games.
In fact, only Liverpool, Man City and Bournemouth have taken more points from their last five top-flight fixtures than Gary O’Neil’s side.
And given Brighton have been involved in more draws than any other team in the league this season…
