Premier League club boss admits arranging ‘cash for sex deal’ with teen girl he ‘raped at his home’

A PREMIER League club boss has admitted arranging a “cash for sex” deal with a teen girl he is accused of raping. The leading football figure, who cannot be named, is being sued by the alleged victim for aggravated damages. She claims she was raped by the man at his home when she was aged 15 after he invited her over to discuss a potential career opportunity. In High Court papers, the man admitted he had initiated a “cash for sex” arrangement while she was 16 or 17, The Athletic reports. He also claimed she had contacted him multiple times over the following years to offer sexual favours in return for money. His signed statement continued: “On the vast majority of occasions (he) has declined offers of sex, although he has engaged in sexual activity with the claimant on up to about 15 occasions in total over the years, for which he rewarded her with cash payments in line with her expectations.Read more news”On one occasion, the defendant engaged in sexual activity with both the claimant and her sister, both of whom were looking to earn some cash.”The football boss – anonymised in court as JZX – also branded her allegations as “dishonest and malicious”.The alleged victim came forward in 2021 claiming she was raped at his home when she was 15.But the man was not arrested and the case was left on file by the Crown Prosecution Service. Most read in FootballThis was due to a legal irregularity that meant the woman had waited too long to report the claims.Legislation at the time stated if the alleged offence took place between 1956 and 2004, and the complainant was a girl aged between 13 and 15, she had to make a report within a year.Although this was scrapped when the 2003 Sexual Offences Act came into place, it still applied if the alleged incident took place in the previous 48 years. She is suing the Premier League figure for aggravated damages for sexual assault and intentional infliction of injury. The woman claims that while he was showing her around the house, JZX subjected her to a “disgusting and traumatising” ordeal. She said in her own papers that he made her sit on his knee, told her she was a “good girl” and asked if she was a virgin.JZX then allegedly handed her £150 in three £50 notes after raping her.She says the alleged attack left her with depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. The woman admits having sex on a number of occasions over the years but said she believed he would provide her with career opportunities “if she complied with his sexual demands”.READ MORE SUN STORIESJZX strongly denies the allegations and has stated the “implied contention that (he) might harm her or her family is wholly unfounded”.The BBC previously revealed how the boss was still in his post while awaiting the High Court trial. The leading figure in the Premier League has been accused of rape More

Most transferred-out player this week a strong option for Gameweek 26 — transfers can be reversed!

CONSIDER this a timely reminder that Dream Team managers can reverse their transfers any time before the deadline.Morgan Rogers (£3.8m) is currently the most transferred-out player this week despite the fact he appears to be a strong option for Gameweek 26.Rogers is not injured, far from it…Credit: Dream TeamThe Aston Villa midfielder picked up a minor injury against Chelsea last weekend and was considered a doubt for his side’s trip to Crystal Palace on Tuesday night. However, not only was Rogers named in the starting line-up at Selhurst Park, he scored a classy goal as part of a 10-point return. It was a sobering night for the Villains as they succumbed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Oliver Glasner’s side but a 12th goal of the season for their skilful No27 should prompt thousands of overzealous Dream Team bosses to rethink their strategy for the upcoming Gameweek. There’s no doubt Rogers’ availability question mark was a significant factor in his popularity drop but Tuesday night’s events have changed the outlook dramatically.Rogers is in line to start against Club BruggeCredit: GettyFar from a player to ditch ahead of Gameweek 26, the 22-year-old appears to be an easy hold.Unai Emery’s side are one of only two teams (Manchester United being the other) set to play twice this coming Gameweek, although rotation is to be expected against Cardiff in Friday night’s FA Cup fifth round fixture.Even if Rogers doesn’t feature at all against the Bluebirds, he is virtually guaranteed to start against Club Brugge in the Champions League on Tuesday night. And given five teams will blank in Gameweek 26 around some unpredictable fixtures in the FA Cup, keeping hold of Dream Team’s sixth-best midfielder seems sensible. Most read in FootballLooking further ahead, Villa are one of just six teams with two fixtures in Gameweek 27: Brentford (a) and Club Brugge (h).Villa have two fixtures to fulfil in Gameweek 26Credit: RexHaving been a bit-part player in the second half of 2023/24 following his arrival from Middlesbrough, Rogers has become one of Emery’s most trusted regulars this season.Among outfield players, only Youri Tielemans (£4m) has played more minutes for Villa in the Premier League at this stage of the campaign.Rogers has amassed 215 points via 19 goal involvements. He’s also registered more successful dribbles (83) than any other player in the game, his main source of bonus points. His disciplinary record is a worry as only Crystal Palace’s Will Hughes (£3m) has received more yellow cards this season but his strengths far outweigh his weaknesses.Rogers shouldn’t even be among the top five most transferred-out players for Gameweek 26, let alone number one. ‘It’s like being punched in the stomach’ – Beresford still haunted by Newcastle’s 4-3 defeat to Liverpool 29 years on

IT took a decade before John Beresford could stomach a re-watch — and 29 years on it still ‘haunts’ him.The Newcastle legend, 58, will be at Anfield tonight to see his former side face leaders Liverpool.John Beresford was part of the Newcastle side that finished second in 1996Credit: GettyStan Collymore scored a stoppage time winner in Liverpool’s 4-3 classic vs NewcastleCredit: ReutersAnd one-time left-back Beresford enjoyed many memorable moments in the black and white as part of Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers.Yet despite some famous wins — such as a 5-0 triumph over Manchester United — there is one defeat in particular he gets asked about most.Keegan’s Magpies were ten points clear at Christmas in 1995 but blew the title after surrendering their lead to Sir Alex Ferguson’s Red Devils.A pivotal moment in that slump occurred on April 3, 1996 when they went toe-to-toe with Liverpool in a match decided in the final seconds by Stan Collymore.READ MORE IN FOOTBALLTo this day, that 4-3 Anfield defeat makes Beresford feel “horrible”, even if it was voted the Premier League’s greatest match.Speaking exclusively to SunSport via BetSelect, the Toon fan favourite said: “I still get haunted by it.“It’s a bittersweet thing as I’m reminded about it so many times.“People used to say to me it got voted the best game in the Premier League and I was just like, ‘Whatever’.Most read in FootballJOIN SUN VEGAS: GET £50 BONUS“About ten years after I retired I was in a gym and it came up on Sky Sports Gold — and I thought, ‘I’m gonna watch it’.“I got on an exercise bike, then couldn’t take my eyes off it but it was just horrible.Newcastle’s Alexander Isak talks to Alan Shearer about Champions League desires “It was interesting to watch it from the outside. It was hypnotic. Fowler equalised early in the second half but Faustino Asprilla restored Toon’s advantage.Collymore drew Liverpool level as this thriller looked set to end with honours even — until the former England striker struck a killer blow deep in stoppage time.Beresford said: “I remember the goal clearly. I remember falling over. I tripped when John Barnes goes through and, as I get up, he rolls it to Collymore who smashes it in.“I felt sick and just couldn’t believe what had happened. It’s like being punched in the stomach.“It was the weirdest sensation as it’s the only time in a game where I thought, ‘That just doesn’t seem right’. How did we get beat? We had actually played really well.“Les even had a couple of great chances towards the end to go for us, you know, for when we went 3-2 up. I knew what the gaffer was like when he was in that mood.“Most managers would shut up shop and get people behind the ball but we just didn’t have those players.“Kevin just wouldn’t do it that way. You keep going and you score.“Even people who usually could slow it down with professional fouls couldn’t, it was that open.“There would be a shot, the keeper would save it… and then there would be a breakaway again.”Beresford continued: “Because of the Liverpool history of Kevin Keegan and Terry McDermott, there was always a buzz when we went to them and we’d always done OK.“Kevin just went beforehand, ‘Right, come on boys, this is where we can show everybody what we are’.“He never liked long Churchillian speeches. It was always just a little comment here and there and this was like, ‘We’re going for it’.”However, even Keegan was lost for words at the end of this one as their title dreams faded away.Beresford said: “It was the weirdest thing I had ever come across afterwards in the dressing room.“It was silence — absolute silence. I’m thinking that Kevin was going  to flip, because he could, he could give you a right b******ing.“But he didn’t say anything. It was the first time he’d been like that. I don’t think he knew what to say and was as distraught as we were.”United went on to lift the title as Newcastle finished second and a few months later Keegan had resigned.Beresford revealed: “A couple of years later, I bumped into Jamie Redknapp and he said Liverpool were devastated they beat us because they hated Manchester United.READ MORE SUN STORIES“Looking back, am I devastated we lost the league?
