      The middleweight contender usually spends his time training in America but recently welcomed Roy Jones Jr to his Brighton base.
      But Eubank Jr will not be cornered by the boxing legend for this fight and instead wanted the help of his former world champion father.
      That was until Chris Sr surprisingly wanted to pull his son OUT amid concerns in making the 157lb contracted catchweight agreement.
      So it left his son to take the lead on his own, still under the watchful eye of his mentor and dad’s ex-trainer Ronnie Davies.

      Eubank Jr said on Good Morning Britain: “I’ve trained myself for this fight.
      “My father didn’t want me to take this fight and wait another year, but I wasn’t going to let this one slip through my fingers.”
      Eubank Jr, 32, went large parts of his career without a recognised head coach but linked up with Jones, 53, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
      It was only a fight for the ages with Benn, 26, that he would have considered parting ways momentarily with the American.

      Although Sr was not on board with the bout, as his son has to drop 3lb from his usual 160lb middleweight limit.
      Eubank Jr has even campaigned as high as the 168lb super-middleweight division.
      Both he and Benn, coming up 10lb from welterweight, are confined to what they can weigh the next day as they hit the scales again.
      Financial penalties are in place if the weight restrictions are not met.
      Eubank Jr raised eyebrows as he filmed himself eating fast food and sweet treats during training camp, despite his own father’s fears.

      And he has maintained he will come into the ring at only 60 per cent of his true potential – which is still enough to give him victory.
      Eubank Jr said: “Have I made big changes? I wouldn’t even say that. I’m doing everything on my own accord, I’ve had my burgers and my birthday cakes.
      “I’ve done everything my own, I’m a professional but I also know what my body can and can’t do.
      “I don’t need nutritionists and gym guys who think they know what they’re doing. I know my own body.

      “I have this weight I have to make which I’ve never made before in my entire career and there’s also a rehydration clause after the fight in that I can’t be over a certain weight.
      “So I can’t be 100 per cent for this fight but the 60 per cent I’m going to be will be a very dangerous and worrying 60 per cent for Conor.”

      But an impatient Gypsy King wanted a deal signed yesterday and instead claimed he was moving on to fight Charr.
      It is a move slammed by Hearn, who suggested Fury, 34, should look to Joyce, 37, as an alternative to AJ.
      He told Off Script on Dubai Eye “I’ve just opened up Instagram and saw he’s called out Manuel Charr again.
      “He’s calling him out like this is a guy who is an actual credible heavyweight. ‘You’re the one Manuel, you’ve got the guts.’

      “This is a guy who’s not even rated. It’s a chronic mismatch and if he doesn’t want to fight AJ, why doesn’t he fight Joe Joyce?
      “He’s ready to go and they have the same promotional company.”
      Fury was ringside as Joyce beat his training partner Joseph Parker, 30, in Manchester to be crowned WBO “interim” champion.
      It guarantees him a shot at the title currently held by Oleksandr Usyk, 35, who beat Joshua, 32, twice.

      But the Ukrainian ruled himself out until next year having returned to his war-torn home for the first time after a period in training.
      That is why Fury called out AJ, leading to talks for a shock Battle of Britain in Wales.
      Broadcasters DAZN, BT Sport and ESPN have all held talks to share a rare duel pay-per-view.
      But Hearn has maintained a deal, which entitles Fury to 60 per cent of the split, is far from finalised.

      BOXER Luis Quinones has been confirmed dead following five days in a coma. The fighter was rushed to hospital following a 140lb title bout against Jose Munoz in Barranquilla, the capital of Colombia.

      Quinones underwent surgery for a clot in the brain in the early hours of Sunday, September 25.
      And after five days in a coma, his death was confirmed on Thursday, September 30.
      The Colombian Boxing Federation said: “Unfortunately he lost that battle, we express our sincere condolences to his entire family.
      “Peace in his grave and resignation to the designs of God”

      A devastated Munoz spoke out following the tragic news of his opponent’s passing.
      He said: “I never thought that a dream could turn into a real nightmare. 
      “The desire to succeed in life put us both on the same path, but because of those things in life and especially the profession we chose, today you are in a situation that we never imagined.
      “During the last days, your image does not stop in my head, and I think about the great future that lies ahead.

      Firstly, he suffered a rib injury last December before running into US visa issues ahead of their rescheduled August date.
      It means Paul will have to cross enemy lines to get his hands on Fury, who recently FaceTimed with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
      And they both agreed to see if three really is the lucky number and try for a hat-trick of times.
      Paul, 25, said on his podcast: “Had a call with Tommy Fury. Yeah, they’re saying we’re going to fight in February.

      “I think he actually can’t come into the United States. So if I fight him in the UK…”
      He added: “I think parts of it are shady, I don’t think we’re getting the full truth on everything.
      “But regardless, it’s a great matchup and I really want to knock him out.”
      Tyron Woodley, 40, replaced Fury, 23, last and was knocked out in his rematch with Paul, four months after losing on points.

      It leaves him still yet to face an opponent with prior professional boxing experience, but that changes on October 29.
      Paul returns in Arizona against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, who also has a 4-1 record in the ring.

      MIKE TYSON once threatened to beat up Michael Jordan over their romantic history with the same woman, the boxer’s former manager has claimed.The former Baddest Man on the Planet, 56,  made his boxing comeback against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

      But before that comeback, Rory Holloway has revealed what happened when Tyson and he attended a birthday dinner for Chicago Bears star Richard Dent in 1988.
      Plenty of famous faces were at the December bash, including Jordan, boxing promoter Don King and Bears coach Mike Ditka.
      Tyson was in his pomp with an undefeated record and unified title to his name –  it was a point in his life when he was also known for decadent and lavish partying.
      But it was Jordan’s history with Robin Givens, Tyson’s ex-wife who the NBA legend had previously dated, that brought about the tension.
      Holloway wrote in his book chronicling the boxer’s career, via BoxingScene: “Mike Tyson’s sitting there with his drink of choice, a Long Island Tea, and when he drinks his real feelings come out.
      “I’m telling the server to water his drinks down because I see where this is going.
      Jordan, it’s obvious he just wants to get up and run. He wants no part of this.
      “Mike stares across the table at Michael Jordan. He says, ‘Hey man, you think I’m stupid? I know you f***** with my b****’.
      “Jordan looks like he just seen a ghost. ‘I know you messed with her,’ Mike says, ‘You can tell me’.

      “He says to Dent, ‘Y’all scared of this damn white man, Richard? He ain’t nobody. You gonna let him talk that way?’.

      McGregor refrained from responding to the x-rated call-out, in which Paul made derogatory comments about the Irishman’s fiancee, Dee Devlin.
      And in another attempt to get the former two-division UFC champion’s attention Paul – whose older brother Logan stepped in the ring with Floyd Mayweather – sent a short and sweet direct message to The Notorious on Instagram.

      Paul’s rant at White came shortly after he ambushed McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis and pelted him with water balloons.
      Paul may very well be a combat sports novice, but he’s well and truly at the centre of the boxing and MMA worlds at this moment in time.

      Boxing legend Antonio Tarver wants Mike Tyson to set up fight for him against Jake Paul to ‘kick YouTuber’s ass’

      BOXING legend Antonio Tarver called on Mike Tyson to set up a fight between him and YouTuber Jake Paul. Paul is 5-0 winning a number of fights, incliding comprehensively knocking out retired NBA star Nate Robinson and defeating Tyron Woodley TWICE.

      But Tarver – who famously ended the reign of Roy Jones Jr – was not impressed by the performance.
      And he wants to fight the 25-year-old internet sensation and stop the new age of outsiders venturing into the ring.
      Tarver, 53, wrote on Instagram back in 2020: “I really want to kick @jakepaul ass for what he did to @naterobinson last night and rid boxing of these clowns once and for all.
      “He fought a complete novice so fighting me shouldn’t be a problem… @miketyson make this fight.”

      Tarver last fought in 2015 with a split-decision defeat against Steve Cunningham.
      He has been training Evander Holyfield, 59, helping the ex-heavyweight champion keep up his fitness.
      It inspired Tarver to think about lacing up the gloves again, with Jones’ trainer revealing the pair have unfinished business.
      Paul, on the other hand, is focussing on bringing MMA fighters over to boxing as he called out UFC star Conor McGregor and Dillon Danis.
