‘I’m not holding my breath’ – KSI fears Jake Paul will talk himself out of 2023 fight and WON’T wait for YouTube rival

KSI admitted he is not holding his breath over an anticipated grudge fight with Jake Paul and will not wait around for his rival. The British YouTube, rap and celebrity boxing star in August returned to the ring, winning two farcical fights on the same night.

Jake Paul offered to fight KSI this year
It followed after his initial opponent Alex Wassabi, 32, pulled out due to a concussion suffered in sparring.
Paul, 25, offered to step in a replace Wassabi but KSI, 29, rejected him and instead proposed a mega-fight at Wembley next year.
But he fears the American could KO the idea by acting up at the negotiation table.
KSI told Men’s Health: “The plan is, it’s still on. But it’s not going to be as easy as everyone thinks it is.

“There’s going to be a lot of back and forth, a lot of negotiations. I’m not holding my breath.”
Paul returns next weekend in Arizona against UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, in his biggest fight to date.
The Brazilian will also be his first opponent with a recognised boxing record, having had four wins and one loss in the ring.
For KSI, he is set to return on January 14 with Paul’s brother Logan, 27, who he beat in 2019, on the undercard.

The Londoner could then target the anticipated grudge match with his great rival but refuses to put all his eggs in one basket.
KSI said: “I don’t want to be in a situation where I’m just waiting for him. If he’s down and we get the contract right, then it’s a go.
“But if he’s going to make this whole situation very long, then I’m just going to find other opponents until he decides to get his s*** together.
“He just wants to fight people that he knows he’s going to beat. He’s not that great. I like the illusion people think he’s way better than me.”

Jake Paul KICKS girlfriend Julia Rose out from camp so he can ‘train like a caged animal’ for Anderson Silva fight

JAKE PAUL has KICKED OUT girlfriend Julia Rose from his Puerto Rico base so he can “train like a caged animal” ahead of fighting Anderson Silva. Paul returns to the ring next weekend in Arizona against UFC legend Silva in the biggest night of his career.

And as the fight draws closer, the YouTuber-turned boxer starts to dial in even more – but it comes at the cost of seeing his partner.
Paul, 25, said on his podcast: “Julia is not here, she got kicked out of training camp because we’re not allowed to have girls around.
“Just to like build up that dog mentality and to lock in and really train like a caged animal.
“Because, when you’re around a girl there’s a neurochemical called oxytocin that’s released and it makes you relaxed, it makes you more comfortable.

“And for fights you need to be on edge. So Julia is not here today, I love you Julia, if you’re watching. We’re going to miss you.”
Paul last fought in December, knocking out Tyron Woodley, 40, four months after beating the ex-UFC champion on points.
That added to KOs over online rival “AnEsonGib, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 38, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, also 38.
Woodley only filled on under two weeks’ notice after Tommy Fury, 23, pulled out of his grudge match against Paul with a rib injury.

The celeb mega-fight was rescheduled for August in New York – but that was soon KOd when Fury suffered US visa issues.
Heavyweight Hasim Rahman Jr, 31, signed as a substitute, only for lightening to strike twice, this time due to a weight disagreement.
So Paul has had an agonising ten month wait to get back in the ring but claimed it has been a blessing it disguise.
He told Showtime: “I believe there is a higher power guiding my boxing career.
“I feel like I’ve had a really rough run; last-minute opponent changes, all types of stuff, people not wanting to make weight.
“These moments with fighters pulling out, maybe it’s all happening for a reason.
“If anything, I’ve just had so many more months training in secrecy, getting better and better and better.”

Fury shows the money but it’s coins not notes he plans to dish out to Morgan after reversing his retirement decision
Sun columnist Morgan was one of many to doubt the undefeated two-time world heavyweight champion would walk away from boxing while still in his prime and raking it in.
And when the Gypsy King insisted he would only box again for £500m, Morgan asked: “How about if you do fight again, you give me a million pounds?”
Fury replied: “If I am getting half a billion for my fight it won’t matter will it. Yep, 100 per cent.”
And questioned on talkSPORT if he wold honour that deal, the Mancunian responded he was always paid up on bets.

“That was the deal! He’s gonna get paid in one million pound coins!”
TV presenter Morgan tweeted back: “BOOM! I’ll take it any way you like, Champ.”
it’s relatively small change for Fury as he is already plotting three money-spinning fights and believes he has TEN in the tank if needed.

After targeting a third win over Chisora, he hopes to meet Oleksandr Usyk for a unification bout and then Londoner Joe Joyce.
Fury, however, has all but ruled out possibly the most lucrative contest of them all – against Watford’s Anthony Joshua.
On meeting AJ, he said: “I don’t think so. They’re too hard to work with.
“It’s too difficult and, like I said, you can’t make someone do something they don’t want to do.
“When me and [Deontay] Wilder fought the first time, I said ‘send me the contract over’, it was signed within two days. Bosh bosh, see you in a bit.
“Went over there, did the fight, whatever. When you want to fight somebody, you make the fight happen.”

AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn had earmarked December 17 as a potential return date after talks to fight Tyson Fury two weeks earlier collapsed.

Recently, Swedish southpaw Otto Wallin, 31, and American veteran Chris Arreola, 41, emerged as potential options for AJ.

A rematch with Dillian Whyte, 34, who Joshua knocked out in 2015, is also on the cards for the summer.
Fury, 34, called out AJ after Usyk, 35, ruled himself out of a unification bout through injury.
But he instead fights Derek Chisora, 38, in an unpopular trilogy on December 3 following his prior one-sided wins in 2011 and 2014.
Fury now fears a super-fight with Joshua will NEVER happen, claiming his rival is too tough to negotiate with.

He told talkSPORT: “They are too hard to work with. Too difficult and you can’t make someone do something they don’t want to do.”
Fury added: “You can’t make a fight that somebody else doesn’t want.
“No matter how much willing I am to make a fight, if the other participant doesn’t want to do it for whatever reason, they are not going to do it.
“I don’t believe you could have dragged him there with a JCB. It’s a lack of balls.
“If you are in charge and you’re assertive and you’re the man of your team, you tell the team to make the fight happen if you really want it.

The Gypsy King continued: “AJ I’ll make it nice and quick for you! I’ll do it inside six rounds so you can get out of there in one piece and go home and have a nice little night out on Sunday.
“Nice and quick, in and out, get paid and out you go.”

It comes over a decade after Fury’s first win over Chisora, 38, and eight years on from their one-sided rematch.
Having stared each other down, Fury, 34, said: “Are you scared of me, Chisora?”
