Eagle-eyed fans convinced time traveller watched Mike Tyson’s fight against Peter McNeeley in 1995

BOXING fans have been left convinced a time traveller watched a Mike Tyson fight 27 years ago.Iron Mike needed less than a round to finish his contest with Peter McNeeley in August 1995 as he dropped him twice on the way to a swift victory.
The object many believe is a smartphone in the background of Mike Tyson’s 1995 fight
But those online have now been bamboozled by something outside the ring from that evening.
A still shot of Tyson looked as though it showed a smartphone in the background.
And, given the bout took place years before the technology first came out, it led some to suggest only a time traveller could have been there.
Pointing it out on social media, one person said: “This is a 1995 fight with Mike Tyson.

“It’s still mystery, one man taking a video of Mike via Samsung star android model (white).
“Is he a time traveller? Please tell the facts about this.”
While another added: “Someone in the crowd is seen taking a picture from what appears to be a smartphone device, or a device way ahead of the 90s.”
However, the theory was ultimately shut down by those who worked out what the device was – a Fujix Simple HI8 Camcorder.

They said: “Conspiracy theory solved. It was thought when Mike Tyson fought Peter McNeeley in 1995, that someone in the crowd was filming on what looked like a smartphone and was therefore a time traveller.
“Turns out it was a Fujix Simple HI8 Camcorder.”
The Fujix Simple HI8 Camcorder was released in 1993, making it the likely answer to the confusing debate regarding the Tyson image.

Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora 3: Date, UK start time CONFIRMED, live stream, TV channel, PPV price, undercard

TYSON FURY makes his big return to the ring when he takes on Derek Chisora in a trilogy match-up. The Gypsy King hasn’t been in the ring since his sixth-round TKO destruction of Dillian Whyte back in April at a sold out Wembley Stadium.
    How the fighters compare
Derek Chisora will face Tyson Fury for the THIRD time in his career
A whopping 94,000 fans, a British record, filled the England football team’s national stadium that night to watch Fury defend his WBC heavyweight crown before announcing his retirement in the ring after.
His retirement didn’t last long, however, as toward the end of the summer he called out Anthony Joshua for a massive money-spinning clash.
Talks failed to materialise, however, and now Fury is on the precipice of finalising a deal to fight Chisora, who beat Kubrat Pulev in exciting fashion in July.
Chisora has clashed with Fury twice before, though, losing the first on points before being stopped in their 2014 sequel.

    What has been said?
Fury: “I’m not gonna sit here and call Chisora names. I respect him. I’ve got nothing bad to say about Derek; he’s a good fighting man, and he brings his A game every time.
“[But] In my reign right now, I’m reigning supreme. I’ll beat him, and then I’ll beat the little middleweight guy [Usyk].
“He says he’s gonna knock me out, I wanna see him do it. If he does, I’ll be the first to congratulate him.”
Chisora: “I’m a black belt in crazy! The mindset is unbelievable right now, it’s crazy.
“It’s gonna be toe to toe. I have to knock him out, I’m gonna drop him, yeah.
“I’ll beat him. I’m gonna knock him out, I’m gonna stop him, 100 per cent.”
Promoter Frank Warren said: “Tyson wanted to fight in his home country again this year following his special night at Wembley Stadium in April.
“This brings us to the magnificent Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and a match against an old rival in Derek Chisora.
“Derek, also a big favourite with British fans, has reinvented himself in recent years and Tyson has long stated his wish to fight him for a third time.
“Tyson can’t afford any slip-up in this fight as he has the much-publicised undisputed match-up with Usyk in the New Year which we’re really looking forward to.” More

Deontay Wilder’s coach offers Derek Chisora advice on how to beat ‘vulnerable’ Tyson Fury in trilogy fight

DEREK CHISORA has been offered advice on how to beat Tyson Fury by Deontay Wilder’s coach. The heavyweight, beaten by Fury in 2011 and 2014, returns on December 3 for a trilogy bout against his old rival at Tottenham’s stadium.

Not too many will have a greater insight on the Gypsy King than Chisora, who was handed a pair of one-sided defeats.
But boxing trainer Malik Scott will come close.
The American, 42, formerly sparred Fury, 34, and was part of Wilder’s team for his trio of bouts against the WBC champion.
Scott was even head trainer for Wilder’s most recent loss to Fury, an 11th-round knockout in October 2021.

The British legend had to twice pick himself up from the canvas to eventually win by KO after three knockdowns of his own.
It leaves Scott well versed on both Fury’s strengths and weaknesses.
He told BT Sport: “You’ve got to take advantage of his vulnerabilities right there and Derek has to do that.
“He can’t make silent agreements when he gets close, he’s got to work his free hand, you’ve got to beat Tyson Fury up on the inside as much as you can.

“What he can’t do, is get close and allow Tyson to hold him. Tyson Fury, when he is in control, is very vulnerable.”
Wilder, 37, could remarkably work his way into a FOURTH fight with Fury after being ordered into a WBC final eliminator bout.
He is set to face Andy Ruiz Jr, 33, for the right to challenge for Fury’s belt, potentially setting up yet another rematch.
Scott said: “I’m very interested in the Fury 4 fight four Deontay.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn has already said the winner will be rewarded with a mega-money payday against the returning AJ next year.
It leaves it all to play for, especially for outsider Franklin, who Hearn told: “If you win this fight, you’re getting the Anthony Joshua fight.
“AJ wants to fight Dillian Whyte. Maybe that’s one for the future.
“But for you to come over as an American to beat a Brit in London, you will get that fight, and you will make millions of dollars.

“So all you’ve got to do is go through this guy to make millions of dollars.”
Franklin, 29, cooly responded: “I’ll worry about that after I get this win.”
Whyte, 34, beat Joshua, 33, in their 2009 amateur barnburner but was knocked out in their rematch six years later as professionals.
AJ, coming off consecutive losses to 35-year-old star Oleksandr Usyk, is taking time out of the ring to mentally recover from defeat.

Whereas Whyte is already on the comeback trail following his recent knockout blow at the hands of WBC champion Tyson Fury, 34, in April.
A second straight loss could prove disastrous for Brixton’s Body Snatcher, but he is hungry for redemption.
Whyte said: “There’s no pressure on me. I’m a wounded lion at the minute. So that’s why these guys are jumping and yapping and yapping.
“What they forget is, I may be wounded, but I’m still a lion. I’m still a mother f***ing predator.
“That’s what a lion knows to do, to kill. Unless he loses his teeth. But my teeth are still in. See there. I’m always ready to kill.”

Tommy Fury’s dad taking off his shirt and calling out Jake Paul was a circus but I’m not knocking it, says Eddie Hearn

EDDIE HEARN says John Fury taking off his shirt and calling out Jake Paul was a circus – but admitted he cannot knock it. Paul was a special guest commentator at the Coca-Cola Arena this month as Fury boxed late replacement Rolly Lambert in an exhibition.
Topless John Fury offering to fight Jake Paul
The American heckled from ringside and the two later clashed post-fight with security having to restrain them as their rivalry hit new heights.
Fury’s dad John at one point even ripped off his top and offered to fight Paul bare-knuckle in the ring.
But as cringe as the viral moment may have been, Hearn can appreciate promotional gold when he sees it.
He told Matchroom’s YouTube channel: “I mean John Fury – it’s a circus.

“But that’s what it’s supposed to be, I’m not knocking it for being a circus. You know, taking his shirt off, ‘Hold me back.’”
The celebrity boxing rivals have agreed to reschedule their grudge match once more, with talks currently ongoing.
Fury has twice pulled out of fighting Paul, after suffering a rib injury last December and US visa issues in August.
His Stateside travel restriction still persists today, leaving Paul’s side adamant the fight must take place in the UK.

Most Valuable Promotions tweeted: “Has to be Manchester or London.
“Jake Paul will not allow travel to be an excuse for this fight to not happen.”
Paul, 25, most recently beat UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, in October, the biggest win in his 6-0 career.
Meanwhile Fury, 23, returned this month in his last-minute exhibition against substitute Lambert, 33.

After he cruised past six rounds, the two traded words and an agreement to fight in 2023 was struck.
Hearn commented: “I’d like to see Jake Paul come out of that world a little bit.
“I think the Jake Paul – Tommy Fury fight is an interesting fight, I like what Jake Paul has done.

But that was only after paying $750,000 to get out of his contract with Top Rank in 2006 in order to promote himself.
The risk was eventually worth the reward with Mayweather claiming to have made $1.2BILLION throughout his prizefighting career.
And over HALF of that was made for his fights against Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.
So it is no wonder, five years after retiring following victory over McGregor, that Mayweather continues to rake it in through exhibitions.
