Tyson Fury wants to box 12 TIMES in 2023 and copy heavyweight legend Joe Louis who ‘fought a bum a month’

TYSON FURY wants to box 12 TIMES next year and copy the legendary Joe Louis by fighting “a bum a month”. Fury returns on Saturday at Tottenham’s stadium in a trilogy bout against Derek Chisora, who he beat in 2011 and 2014.

But it is only his second bout of the year, after deciding against retirement having knocked out Dillian Whyte, 34, in April.
Fury, 34, wants to make up for lost time by sensationally boxing once a month in 2023, up and down the globe.
He told The Sportsman: “I can’t physically get all these men to fight.
“If they’re there to fight next year, then game on, but if not, then I’ll fight whoever.

“I can go on a bum a month campaign, like Joe Louis did, and just fight 12 bums. Wherever it is.
“Give a guy in Italy a chance, like Apollo did in Rocky, and bring something back to the game.”
From 1940 to 1941, Louis took on a series of challengers which was later remembered as “The Bum Of The Month Club”.
Fury has previously revealed more modest plans to fight three times in 2023.

The last time he managed as many as four bouts in a calendar year dates back to 2011.
Fury suffered frustration at failing to land super-fights with Anthony Joshua, 33, and Oleksandr Usyk, 35, this year.
So he is willing to accept any and all comers in his quest to roll back the years.
Fury said: “I’m sick to death of trying to make these fights happen.
“I’ve got to live my life and I’m not going to live my life for anybody else.
“If you see me fighting the local binman next then be happy for me because I’m in a happy place.”

Jake Paul will be an ‘easy fight’ for Tommy Fury if Love Island star builds that ‘stamina up’, says Ricky Hatton

TOMMY FURY will have a walk in the park against Jake Paul, but only if he gets his stamina up.A grudge match between the two social media stars is seemingly on course to take place early next year, with negotiations currently ongoing.

Bur boxing fans’ opinions about who will win the fight are divided – despite Fury being immersed in boxing since childhood.
That of former two-division champion Ricky Hatton, however, isn’t and he firmly believes Fury will teach The Problem Child a lesson once he gets his cardio up.
He told Fair Betting Sites: “I think Tommy Fury beats Jake all day long, as long as he gets a few more rounds in the bank.
“Jake Paul has done more rounds than Tommy Fury. Once Tommy has banged out a few six-rounders and got a few eight-rounders under his belt, then I think it’s a no-contest.

“As he hasn’t done too many rounds himself, he probably hasn’t got that natural stamina.
“It’s not just for Tommy, it’s for [Floyd] Mayweather, for me – you need those rounds under your belt and so far Tommy’s not done that yet and that’s the only thing that gives Jake Paul half a chance.
“If Tommy got a few rounds under his belt and built that stamina up then I think it’s an easy fight for Tommy.”
YouTuber turned boxer Paul, 25, recently accused Fury – the brother of WBC heavyweight champ Tyson – of ducking him.

He said: “Tommy Fury…the contract is with your team.
“7 figures. 6x what you made in your last fight. You signing right?”
He later added: “Tommy Fury ducking. Tyson Fury now trying to get me to fight his dad instead?
“Nate Diaz ducking. I heard he’s boxing a novice YouTuber?
“Paddy [Pimblett] ducking a spar. Knows I can’t go to UFC HQ. Offered him Jan 5 but happy to fly him out any day he wants that works for us both?”

Fury, 23, hasn’t set foot in the ring since his decision victory over Daniel Bocianski on the undercard of brother Tyson’s Wembley clash with Dillian Whyte in April.
Paul, meanwhile, was last in action in October – defeating former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva via unanimous decision. More

Tommy Fury is in talks to fight Jake Paul
Paul recently took to Twitter to accuse Fury of “ducking” him after sending out a “seven-figure” fight contract.
Now the YouTuber-turned boxer has claimed he sent his rival a direct message in a bid to get a deal over the line.
He said on Anthony Pompliano’s podcast: “Even now Tommy Fury is creating all these smoke and mirrors and he’s ducking.
“He wouldn’t respond to my DM. I sent him a DM like, ‘Yo, you have the offer in your inbox, like let’s make this fight happen for the fans.’

    “He hasn’t even opened it.”
Paul went on to whip out his phone and read the alleged social media message.
He said: “I’m sending you an offer tomorrow, we’re either going to do this or move on for good as the fans are fed up.
“Look at the comments on your tweets this was a big fight and now it’s on the edge of being irrelevant.

Twice the duo have put pen to paper on a fight but both times Fury has been forced to withdraw.
Last December he suffered a rib injury and in their rehashed date of August, the Brit was hit with US visa issues which still persist today.
Paul, 25, in October beat UFC legend Anderson Silva, 47, the biggest win in his 6-0 career.

A month later he travelled to Dubai to watch Fury, 23, box in a late-notice exhibition and the two camps agreed to fight in 2023.
And Paul claimed Silva, who had a 4-1 record in the ring, is a tougher opponent than Fury.
He said: “Tommy Fury is a ten times easier fight than Anderson Silva.
“He doesn’t have the experience, he’s never been in a tough fight, he’s only fought people who are taxi cab drivers.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder came close in their 2018 dust-up, but he ultimately fell short in their follow-up bouts in 2020 and 2021.
But former two-weight world champ Ricky Hatton believes AJ can succeed where Wilder – and most recently Dillian Whyte – failed.
He told Fair Betting Sites: “With AJ though you don’t just get an Olympic gold medal if you haven’t got the boxing ability.
“He’s also got punching power. If anybody is going to beat Tyson Fury, it probably will be Anthony Joshua.”

Fury, 34, has bamboozled his opponents with his elusiveness and dazzling footwork – skills Hatton believes may be too much for Joshua to overcome.
He said: “I just think that Tyson has all the advantages.
“He’s got the boxing brain, I think he can change his tactics mid fight and stuff like that. He’s so versatile.
“He can go to war, he can box at a distance, he has a wonderful defence, he can go southpaw, orthodox.

“And I don’t know if AJ – who has done the country really proud being two-tie heavyweight champion of the world, Olympic gold medalist.
“I don’t know if he’s good enough to suss out the puzzle of Tyson Fury.
“I think he’d just be too clever and too good all around I think.”

Tyson Fury says boxing is ‘more addictive than any drug ever’ and admits he ‘can’t let it go’ despite vowing to retire

TYSON FURY said boxing is more addictive than any sort of drug and will struggle to leave it behind despite previous plans to retire. Fury returns on Saturday at Tottenham’s stadium in a trilogy bout against Derek Chisora, who he beat in 2011 and 2014.

It is his first fight back since April, when he knocked out Dillian Whyte, 34, and announced at Wembley that he was walking away.
But the retirement lasted just a matter of months as Fury, 34, fought hard to fill his days living the life of an everyman.
The eccentric father-of-six was eventually pulled back into the brutal boxing game as he simply knows nothing else.
Fury told Queensberry Promotions: “I’ve been in love with boxing for such a long time from being a little boy and I am 34 now, probably at the end of my career in the next few years.

“It has been a love-hate relationship and it has been toxic at times, but when it is good, it is very good.
“So we are in that relationship and I don’t just abandon things. I try and make things work and that is where we are at the minute.
“I’ve wanted to leave a lot of times but it always drags me back. It is like a massive drug and an addiction.

“It is abusive because, when I come to this gym it abuses my body, my mind and my soul, but afterwards I feel it takes me to ecstasy.
“The rush is unbelievable and it gives me the biggest highs ever, but it also gives me the lowest lows as well.
“Boxing is more addictive than any drug ever. Ever. Because you can’t let it go.”
Fury has teased competing well into his 40s such is his dependance on boxing.
But the heroic two-time champion, who beat depression to reign as heavyweight king, stands as a happy fighter heading into his 34th bout.

Fury said: “My relationship with boxing? I am in a very good place with boxing at the moment.
“I’m back, I’m hungry, I’m putting the work in, I’m grinding.
“George Foreman said a long time ago, along with some other boxers, that it is difficult to run along the road at five in the morning when you’ve got your Versace slippers on and your silk pajamas.
“I don’t find it that way. My attitude is that it’s easier for me running along the road knowing that I’m financially secure and have done all I’ve needed to do.

Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn reveals ongoing talks with Deontay Wilder’s manager over 2023 super-fight

EDDIE HEARN has revealed he is in ongoing talks with Deontay Wilder’s manager over a fight with Anthony Joshua next year. Wilder’s Hall of Fame manager Shelly Finkel welcomed discussions with Hearn in an interview with SunSport.

And despite previous animosity with the pair, they have now started talking again over a potential heavyweight super-fight next year.
Hearn told iD Boxing: “I’ve had a couple of very nice conversations with Shelly recently.
“I think we all made mistakes last time and I’m not going to make that mistake again.
“So I’m saying nothing but the communication lines and clear and open, which is great news for everybody.

“I don’t know what’s next but what I can tell you is, the relationship and communication is good enough to have hope.”
Joshua and Wilder failed to agree terms for what at the time would have been an undisputed fight between a pair of then-unbeaten champions.
The verbal back and forth between the opposing teams also soured the relationship to an almost unsavable degree.
But after recent talks, Hearn said: “First things first, there’s a lot of stuff that needed to be cleared up between the two of us.

“I made mistakes, I was arrogant, I think he made mistakes, maybe he said some things.
“I think we got to a point, he doesn’t need to grow up because he’s been in the game a long time.
“I probably did need to grow up a little bit and I think hand on heart, I was probably sometimes speaking with my heart and my b****s rather than my brain.”
Joshua, 33, is set to return in early 2023 after taking time off following consecutive points defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, 35.
Meanwhile Wilder, 37, knocked out Robert Helenius, 38, in round one of his October comeback fight.
Hearn lined up AJ to rematch Dillian Whyte, 34, who he knocked out in 2015, for his first fight back.
But Finkel called on Joshua’s camp to look in Wilder’s direction instead.

Anthony Joshua would beat Tyson Fury in a rematch and first fight would end in a DRAW, predicts Bernard Hopkins

ANTHONY JOSHUA was tipped to beat Tyson Fury in a rematch with their first fight ending in a draw by Bernard Hopkins.Just like in the Gypsy King’s first go at Deontay Wilder in December 2018, Hopkins predicts the Brit will be subject to a controversial draw against Joshua.
Anthony Joshua has been tipped to beat Tyson Fury in a rematch with their first fight ending in a draw
Fury threatened to retire after knocking out Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April but is fighting Derek Chisora next
Fury and Joshua seemingly agreed a Battle of Britain showdown last year completely out of the blue this week.
Fury was expected to chase a bout with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
Usyk is the undefeated WBA, IBF and WBO champion after beating AJ in their rematch in Saudi Arabia, but wants to rest and spend time with family.
And Fury called out AJ back in September, to which Joshua responded.
The mischievous Gypsy King teased AJ by posting on social media: “I’d like to give you an opportunity to fight for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.”
And the Watford hero tweeted in reply:  “Yeah calm. I don’t do the online discussions just for clout, so if you’re really about it, shout.  I’ll be ready in December.”
Fury can cherry pick any of the WBC’s top 15 contenders. And he told Joshua: “You’re coming off a 12-round fight, so you’re match-fit.
“I’m giving you a few months’ notice. So, if you’re interested, I’ll send you the date over and we can rumble.

“A Battle of Britain for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.
“Let me know if you’re interested. If not, I will select another opponent.”
However, when Fury didn’t get the answer he wanted in time – he switched his attentions to for another fight in December. He is now taking on Derek Chisora at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday,

But should Fury ever pit his wits against Joshua, boxing legend Hopkins has had his say on how he sees the dream blockbuster bout playing out.

Speaking to iFL TV back in June 2020, the 57-year-old said: “It’ll be a draw and they’ll fight a second time and the second time Joshua would beat him.
“I’m going to go with this one. The first fight is going to be a draw, I’m telling you.
“The second fight Joshua wins, but the first fight will be a draw because it’s going to be hard to score and that’s when the controversy comes in with who got the rounds.
“People will have their own opinion on who will win the fight, but I’m telling you the first fight is going to be so close it’ll be a draw.
“The second fight will happen and Joshua is going to win.”
He added: “I figure [Joshua] makes the adjustments, figures him out and realise he’s got to go for the body instead of the head.
“And then he will fall. The head will hit the knees.”
Bernard Hopkins reckons Joshua and Fury will draw in their first fight should they ever come to blows More
