“I don’t see it happening in the next fight or maybe the fight after.
“But even if I could do really well on this fight, I would love to be kind of recognised by him.

Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Smith tale of the tape: Where will middleweight clash be won and lost ahead of huge main event?

Chris Eubank Jr, left, and Liam Smith, right, will clash on January 21Credit: PA
And while Eubank, 33, is the bookies’ favourite heading into the clash, it is a highly competitive fight to kick off British boxing in 2023.
Smith, 34, is a former world champion having claimed the WBO light-middleweight title in 2016.
He ended up relinquishing the belt to pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez and has gone on to lose on two more occasions against Jaime Munguia and Magomed Kurbanov.
But he has been more active in recent times, beating Jessie Vargas and Hassan Mwakinyo in the last nine months.

By contrast, Eubank has not fought since defeating Liam Williams by unanimous decision in February 2022.
He was scheduled to face Conor Benn in a much-anticipated catchweight fight in October.
But the bout fell through when Benn failed a drugs test.
So how do Eubank and Smith match up? Well, SunSport has taken a look at the tale of the tape.

How Eubank and Smith stack up ahead of their middleweight bout
Smith is one year older than Eubank and has had two more professional fights.
The Liverpudlian also turned pro three years earlier than his British rival.
The pair share the same number of wins – 32 – but Smith has one more loss on his record.
The former world champion’s three defeats compare to Eubank’s two – which came at the hands of Billy Joe Saunders and George Groves.
Eubank has four more knockouts, although neither man is known as a particularly huge puncher.
But when it comes to size, Smith does have a little deficit to make up.
He is more than an inch smaller, has been operating at 154lbs until recently, and has a four-inch reach disadvantage. More

He held both the British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles but was KO’d by Vitali Klitschko in 2004 when he got his shot at the WBC belt.
The Brixton-born star also made headlines for fighting with just one arm after dislocating his shoulder against Mark Potter in 2000 but still managing to win via KO.
Williams announced in 2020 he had retired after losing to Sergey Kharitonov, with his opponent spotted pleading for the referee to stop the bout.
But he hit the headlines again last March when footage of him losing to Djuar El Scheich surfaced as stars begged him to retire for his own safety.

But that was followed by a fourth-straight defeat, which came via knockout, Nelson Hysa in November.

KSI and Danis shared a pretty heated build-up for their fight, but fans have will now be watching a different six-round clash inside the OVO Arena in Wembley, London.
Temperrr was last in action on Misfits Boxing 003.
He won via a first-round knockout and could prove to be stern test for The Nightmare.
KSI made light work of Swarmz and Luis Pineda in August.

And he insists his “focus won’t be distracted” by the pre-fight mess involving Danis.
KSI said: “I mentioned at the Press Conference that Dillon was being haunted by me. He made his excuses and knew he couldn’t handle what I bring to a boxing ring.
“This answers the question whether he’s a fighter or not.
“He’s a warrior alright, a keyboard warrior, and hopefully he’s learnt to leave the real men to speak with their actions rather than hollow words.

“That being said, my focus won’t be distracted from the task at hand and that’s FaZe Temperrr.
“We’ve come head-to-head plenty of times with the Sidemen and FaZe Clan competing against each other, and it looks like we have another challenge on our hands.
“Credit to Temperrr for stepping up like a REAL fighter.”
Temperrr is confident heading into the fight, and says he wants to knock the Sidemen – YouTube group KSI is part of – off top spot.
He added: “I showed exactly what I can do in my last fight.
“At any moment in the fight, I can catch my opponent and you can see how they respond when that happens.
“The Sidemen have been on top for too long, and it’s time for FaZe and I to show them exactly what we’re made of.
“Sure, KSI is a huge name, but only one man is going to come out of this victorious. I hope he’s as prepared as he says he is, because I’m coming to London to do one thing, and that’s claim a massive win inside that ring.”
The bookies are heavily in KSI’s favour – they’re backing him to maintain his unbeaten professional record.
And despite underdog Temperrr having one loss on his record, that came against Slim Albaher, the American holds a significant height and slight reach advantage.
Temperrr is 6ft4, considerably taller than KSI, and has a one inch reach advantage, which he says allows him to catch his opponent.
    KSI vs Faze Temperrr prediction
KSI will hold a power and speed advantage over Temperrr, who took the fight on ten days notice.

And the Brit can take a punch, as he proved against Logan Paul.
KSI to win via knockout in Round Two, further teasing a potential fight with Jake Paul. More

Despite looking a lot more aggressive than in his first loss, Joshua opted to replace the renowned Robert Garcia after that bout.
Hearn confirmed this week that the boxing star has chosen a new man to lead his training camp, which will begin in America next week.
And he says that his fighter is heading Stateside as “he can’t breathe” in the UK.
Both the trainer and Joshua’s opponent have yet to be confirmed, although it is widely-believed Gerard Washington will be the man he climbs into the ring with on April 1.

The 40-year-old heavyweight – who was knocked out by Wilder in 2017 – is on the joint-worst run of his career following back-to-back TKO losses to Charles Martin and Ali Eren Demirezen.
But his trainer Malik Scott, who is also the head trainer of the Bronze Bomber, is adamant that the veteran is “ready” for AJ, although he insists that the Brit has dodged his top fighter.
He told Best Sports Betting Canada: “At one time it looked like we’re getting ready to get a Deontay-AJ fight made, then you hear AJ and his team want to do other things.
“It seems like he’s ducking all my heavyweights.

“You have got to fight one of my heavyweights, man, we’re waiting on you over here.
“You’re ducking Deontay Wilder, Gerald Washington is ready to fight right now, in top condition, mentally and spiritually and physically.”
Malik, who added that Wilder could be ready to face Andy Ruiz Jr in a WBC title eliminator as early as March, continued: “Gerald Washington is one of the leading names to possibly fight Anthony Joshua.
“It’s not a rumour, it’s an actual fact that he’s one of the options. And it’s something Gerald is ready for.
“I keep telling people, Gerald is a big, strong, heavy handed guy.
“The physicalities are there, but what we’ve been working on is mental stamina. And fighting at the highest level, that’s more important than the physical.
“Gerald is better than ever, he’s hungrier than ever, and I can’t wait for you guys to see him. And I can’t wait to see him under the lights myself.
“I’m very optimistic the fight will get made, especially at this point with the move they’re trying to do for AJ, that’s what makes me optimistic about it because I know the mission they’re on with AJ. And that’s not the mission I’m on for Deontay and AJ.”
Wilder returned to the ring after successive defeats to Tyson Fury by delivering a stunning first round knock out to Robert Helenius back in October. More

Tyson Fury’s ex-rival Otto Wallin wants Anthony Joshua fight as promoter reveals talks over comeback bout

He has 24 wins, with four of those coming after his only defeat.
Two-time former unified world heavyweight champion Joshua, 33, is eyeing a boxing comeback this year following his rematch loss to Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua first lost his belts to the Ukrainian in 2021, with Usyk winning by unanimous decision.
Last summer’s rematch in Saudi Arabia was a closer contest, however, it still ended in defeat for the Brit.

Sky Sports were told that Australian heavyweight Demsey McKeanis in talks to fight Joshua.
McKeanis, 32, is unbeaten but Wallin’s promoter Dmitry Salita maintains that Joshua must come back against a credible opponent.
Salita told Sky Sports: “We will see how serious Joshua is about returning to an elite heavyweight level by the level of the opponent he selects.
“He can beat the likes of McKean in an impressive fashion training by himself.

“So a fight with such an opponent will not prove anything as an elite boxer and will not be able to see actual improvements from a new trainer.
“Joshua has been associated with lots of big names. Is it real? I don’t know. Not if he fights a no-name with a glossy record.”
Salita continued: “Otto is willing and ready to come to the UK on April 1 to fight Anthony Joshua. That would be a massive fight!
“Otto is interested in fighting Joshua and that is the fight that seems to make sense especially if Fury fights Usyk in March.
“Otto believes he will beat Joshua and with that deserve the Fury rematch.
“Even if it’s not Otto, the level of opponent will tell us where Joshua is at now.
“Joshua is a very accomplished fighter and was one of the best heavyweights of this generation.
“As a fan if he’s still got it, I would love to see him fight the big fights.” More
