Smith, 34, landed a barrage of hooks in the corner and forced the shock knockdown.
As Eubank, 33, unsteadily got to his feet, Smith rushed in to finish the job and bundled his man to the ground.
Eubank bravely made it up but the referee was left with no choice but to call a halt to the fight.
He was left with a horror eye swell and faces a potential broken orbital bone.

Eubank has a rematch clause in his contract, which could fall at Anfield.
And Smith – who warned to expect the unexpected – delivered on his promise.
He said: “I knew all week that I could hurt Chris, I have beaten better guys than Chris and I have proven my chin. I have coped with better guys than Chris.
“I was judging the distance better as the fight went on and I knew I would get to him in the end.

“I had said I would hurt him and I wasn’t taking the mick. I knew he could not hurt me and I knew I could hurt him.
“This is the best atmosphere I have ever felt. I said all week that Chris was kidding people about his chin.
“I knew I could hurt him, I knew I was the bigger puncher and that’s a fact. If Chris wants the rematch we can do that on my terms.
“I agreed to the rematch clause beforehand so we can see, I can beat all the best fights at 160lbs and 154lbs.”

    IT’S TIME!
They’re ready to go! Both fighters in the ring!
    Fatherly glove
Chris Eubank Sr has been a largely silent figure in son Jr’s career of late – but has broken his silence with well wishes and a warning to Liam Smth.
Sr tweeted; “Good luck, Son. As I’ve always taught you, the harder you train, the luckier you become.
“You started your training camp 19 years ago, so to @Liambeefysmith and your team….YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.”
    Riakporhe wins
The victor calls out all three cruiserweight champions, Jai Opetaia, Ilunga Makabu and Lawrence Okolie.
But we also have Chris Billam-Smith on the ring apron and ready to come into the ring.
Riakporhe narrowly beat Billam-Smith in 2019 and the Sky Sports-signed pair could rematch down the road.
    Riakporhe wins
With that, we are one step closer to the main-event!
Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Smith are up next and there’s not long to go.
And honestly, the crowd here in Manchester could do with a boost, so the ring walks are much needed.
    Riakporhe wins
Riakporhe landed a big right hand which sent Glowacki into the corner and he reined down with punches.
Not a lot landed clean but there was enough volume to force the ref’s hand.
It’s Riakporhe’s biggest win – doing it two rounds quicker than Okolie – and keeps him on track for a world title shot.
    Riakporhe vs Glowacki
Round 4 – It’s Glowacki who is taking control in this round, coming forward and looping hooks over.
Sneaky left hand finds the target as Glowacki sneaks to the outside.

    Riakporhe vs Glowacki
Round 2 – MASSIVE right hand stuns Glowacki and the Pole is reeling back.
Here comes Riakporhe, who sense his man is hurt but Glowacki does well to recover there.
Big round for Riakporhe as he found his range and landed a beautifully timed right hand, but couldn’t close the show.
    Riakporhe vs Glowacki
Round 1 – Here we go, Riakporhe’s biggest test to date. Okolie got the job done is six, can he go one better?
Bit of an awkward start as the clash of stances is causing the feet to come together but Glowacki does land a left over the top.
Glowacki has Riakporhe in the corner but the Londoner shoots a good right hand down the pipe to close out a cagey opener for him.
    Up next
Richard Riakporhe continues his quest for a world title against potentially his biggest test.
He welcomes Polish former world champion Krzysztof Glowacki to Manchester.
Fans will recognise Głowacki for his losing effort in 2020 to Lawrence Okolie, who won the WBO title that night.

    Essuman vs Kongo
Judges score the bout 114-114, 1116-113, 115-114 and your winner… and STILL British and Commonwealth champion Ekow Essuman.
It’s Essuman’s aggression which trumps Kongo’s back foot boxing style.
Tight fight but not one that caught fire and that we’re ever likely to see again.

    Essuman vs Kongo
Intriguing one throughout with Kongo the sharper, more disciplined working behind his jab.
But Essuman had his moments and landed some big shots, notably in the final stages.
Kongo for my money does enough on points, but we’re about to see what the all important three judges think.

Tyson Fury demands fight with Francis Ngannou with Mike Tyson as special guest referee if Usyk fight falls through

TYSON FURY wants a freak cage fight with former UFC heavyweight king Francis Ngannou – with Mike Tyson locked in there too – if the Oleksandr Usyk undisputed bout collapses.Negotiations for the Spring showdown are well underway and hopes are high that the bout – for Fury’s WBC title and the WBA, IBF and WBO belts the Ukraine icon snatched off of Anthony Joshua – will happen.

But he plans to step in the ring with ex-UFC HW champ Francis Ngannou if the fight doesn’t come to fruitionCredit: ESPN
Ngannou is a free agent after failing to agree a new contract with the UFCCredit: GETTY
But boxing businessman Fury, 34, wisely has a fallback plan in case the meeting with the 36-year-old southpaw fails to materialise.
Ngannou got in the Wembley ring after Fury’s 2022 win over Dillian Whyte in the hopes of lining up a crossover fight but he was under an exclusive contract with the UFC and nursing a knee injury.
But he has since left the American MMA brand, dropping his belt, and wants to take up boxing.
At Saturday night’s clash between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr, Fury said: “I am very interested in the Francis Ngannou fight and he is not contracted to the UFC anymore.

“I am interested in that and if the undisputed fight doesn’t get done then I will be looking to take on him, the so-called Baddest Man on the Planet.
“And we’ll make it interesting, a hybrid fight, maybe MMA gloves and in a cage but with Queensberry rules.
“It would be a colossal event wherever it happens.
“Me and him in a cage with 4oz gloves on. And maybe a superstar referee like Mike Tyson, just for bantz.”

Hopefully, the back-up plan will not be needed and all the hard work Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has been doing with Team Usyk yields the ultimate battle.
And boxing historian Fury reckons it will be the latest fight of the century.
He said: “When I get the deal done everybody will know.
“I am not getting involved in doing deals, that’s what I pay Frank Warren and my lawyer to do, because all the back and forth drives me mad, he wants this and that. I am not getting involved.
“This is the fight of the century, they built Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier 1 as the fight of that century and there one before that was Jack Dempsey and Gene Tunney, the biggest crowd ever recorded at a boxing show.
“And now Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk to be the first heavyweight four-belt holder in history.
“There have been undisputed heavyweight champions before, the last was our Lennox Lewis, but that was for the three belts and not four. I will be the first of this era.
“I am an undefeated two-time world champion and he is an undefeated two-weight world champion, so it is a very interesting fight.”
Tyson Fury wants to become the undisputed ruler of the heavyweight divisionCredit: Getty
Fury has also done the maths on how incredible his status is at the top of pugilism.
He said: “I am not bothered about history and legacy because that means you are over the hill and finished.
“I am active now and happy. I don’t give a damn about when I am gone.
“I am enjoying being world heavyweight champion and nowing that out of about seven billion people on the planet, I am the toughest, biggest, baddest, hardest, ugliest man of all seven billion.
“Well, if there’s seven billion people in the word, half of them must be women, so say three-and-a-half billion and out of all of them, under Queensberry Rules, I am the best.
“That is a lot to say and I am very proud of it.”

There was just one ruthless line for Anthony Joshua, who turned down a December fight with Fury that Derek Chisora bravely took instead.
He said: “I am not even interested in talking about that tosser, that fight is in the past.” More

The super-lightweight pair were due to meet on Monday at a spicy press conference in Manchester.
But that event was cancelled on Saturday and the Glasgow bout is now postponed while he rests a foot injury.
Instead, they accidentally crossed paths ringside at the Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Smith bout and a row kicked off.
Giant security staff pulled the men apart and Taylor retained his VIP seat but Catterall was moved to the opposite end of the row.

It will need a fourth date to be arranged after bouts in December and February were also axed, making March 4 the third doomed plan.
The pair clashed last February when Taylor defended all four world titles with a controversial decision.
The delay in rematching has meant the Tartan Tornado has lost three of the belts and only the WBO strap remains his.
A December re-run was cancelled when Taylor suffered a knee injury, then February 4 was in the pipeline before it got pushed back a month.

SunSport understands the Gypsy King is set to begin training for the historic clash in the coming weeks.
But he’s made sure to enjoy some quality time with his family before diving into what will be another gruelling training camp.
Dotting dad Tyson took wife Paris and their six kids to Tenerife for a bit of winter sun.
The Furys were all smiles as they posed for a group photo in the street, with Tyson looking proud as punch of his young family.

Paris documented their mini-break via her Instagram stories, in which she showed their hilarious attempt to get all the kids to smile for a group photo.
She saw the funny side of their failure to get the children looking at the camera, writing “Everyone look” as the caption across both photos.
The Fury family break didn’t last long, though, as they returned to the UK a few days ago.
And Tyson will no doubt be back in the gym on Monday to begin getting in tip-top shape to face Usyk.

The pair’s mouthwatering clash was expected to take place on March 4 but is now on course for April.
Co-promoter Frank Warren told talkSPORT: “We’re expecting a couple of offers this week, but none of them have come through and then Tyson has to make his decision.
“I hope it’s going to happen at the end of March, early April, that’s where we’re looking at the moment.
“So, fingers crossed we get it over the line for that date, but it will definitely, definitely happen.”
He added: “We’re very far down the road.
“But there are a couple of things we’ve got to work on.

John Fury claims trim Usyk looks ‘terrible’ and that he’s same size as son Tyson’s wife Paris ahead of undisputed fight

JOHN FURY claimed a trim Oleksandr Usyk looks like he’s ready to fight Paris rather than her husband Tyson. The Ukrainian, 36, is set to face the WBC heavyweight world champion in a unification bout in April.

But with the WBA, WBO, IBF and The Ring king will come in a lot smaller, lighter and shorter than his 6ft 9ins opponent.
And Fury’s dad piled in on Usyk’s “terrible” physique – by suggesting Usyk needs to pile on the pounds.
But even if he does, he still expects the Gypsy King to be far too much to handle and he might fare better against his 5ft 4ins wife and mum-of-six Paris.
Fury Sr told talkSPORT via Freebets.com: “Looking at Usyk getting out the pool the other day, he needs to do something different physically to get in the ring with Tyson.

“We could put the boxing gloves on Paris and let her fight him based on how he looked the other day.

Fury, 34, boasts a staggering 33-0-1 professional record with 24 wins by knockout.
Now his full attention is on the showdown with Usyk.
An announcement is said to be “imminent” but there is still uncertainty over where the fight will take place.
Frank Warren, Fury’s British promoter, told Seconds Out Youtube channel: “Both sides want the fight and are up for the fight.
“We are in a like mind.
“I don’t think we’re far off from announcing it.
