TOMMY FURY survived a late knockdown to secure bragging rights over Jake Paul. Fury was floored with a left hand in the eighth and final round of his grudge match in Saudi Arabia.

But his jab, combination punching and work rate saw him deservedly edge out on the scorecards.
The pay-per-view affair was gripping from the first bell to the last and here is how SunSport saw it.
Round 1
Fury comes out fast but already the fight gets a bit messy with some holding on both sides
Paul just misses with right a right hand and lunges in to try his luck again, only for Fury to also fail with a counter.

Fury gets behind his jab early, really rocking Paul’s head back and stopping him in his tracks.

Three punch combo for Paul as he comes out quickly.
Fury’s head is rocked by a jab but he comes back with a lovely right uppercut.
Paul is forced to cover up as Fury lands a body shot but for some reason has a point also taken for holding. Evening it up.

Paul comes out fast with a jab as Fury lands a sneaky left uppercut.
It gets a bit scrappy on the inside as they tire, both land with big right hands.
Paul ends the round on the back foot as Fury pushes forward.

Round 8
Fury is FLOORED with a left hand but protests that it was a slip.

He responds well and comes out swinging but it’s getting reckless.
Both swing till the end to cap off a thrilling fight, which two judges gave 76-73 to Fury, with one 75-74 for Paul, who loses on a split.

JAKE PAUL revealed Tommy Fury has ALREADY agreed to a rematch – and believes he knows why he lost. The YouTuber-turned prizefighter tasted defeat for the first time in his seven professional bouts.

Despite dropping Fury, 23, in the eighth and final round with a left hand, Paul, 26, was beaten by split-decision in Saudi Arabia.
And in his immediate reaction to defeat the American pointed to illness he claimed to have suffered from during his preparation for the fight.
He said: “I felt flat, I got sick really bad twice in this camp. It wasn’t my best performance.
“But I lost, I’m not making any excuses, I’ll just say it wasn’t my best performance tonight.

“Like I said, we’re going to come back and get that W. Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. We’re going to come back stronger.”
Both boxers had a point taken off during the celebrity grudge match, Fury for holding and Paul for back of the head shots.
And the one and only knockdown of the bout was scored with just moments of the fight left.
Paul believed by flooring Fury, he was deserving of the win and appeared to confirm he will exercise his rematch clause.

He said: “All respect to Tommy he won, don’t judge me by my wins judge me by my losses, I’ll come back.
“I think we deserve a rematch, it was a good fight, a close fight. I don’t know if I agree with the judges, I got a 10-8 round twice.
“It is what it is, this is boxing and look, I’ve already won in life, man. I’ve already won. I’m a winner in every single way.
“I have an amazing family, amazing friends, amazing work ethic. I’ve made it further than I ever thought I would and beyond.
“This is definitely a humbling experience, I’ll take it on the chin and get back in the gym and run it back.
“I thought we put on an amazing show for the fans.”
In the post-fight press conference, Paul revealed Fury agreed to a rematch when the two got patched up together.
He said: “I just spoke to Tommy in the medical room and he said ‘yeah, let’s go. let’s do it again’.”

BT Sport issued an apology for the foul language
And he tried to get inside the head of Fury between the third and fourth rounds with an x-rated rant.
He said: “Tommy Fury if you can hear me, you’re a b***h, you’re gassing out.”
Broadcasters BT Sport were forced to issue a swift apology for Logan’s rant.
In a mid-broadcast banner, they wrote: “We apologise for any offence caused by the bad language.”

Boxing fans were quick to comment, with one saying: “Logan Paul calling Tommy a bitch from the sideline is trashy.”
Another said: “Logan Paul embarrassing the entire sport.”
And another said: “Logan Paul calling Tommy Fury a b***h mid-fight?? HAHAHA what a f*****g loser.”
One remarked: “Logan Paul, calling the whole Fury family a b***h is probably not your wisest idea when the heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is in the same room as you, hunny.”
