Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk ‘heading to Wembley in April’ in huge boost to British boxing fans

TYSON FURY’s historic showdown with Oleksandr Usyk is reportedly “heading to” Wembley.Negotiations over the undisputed heavyweight title fight – the first in nearly 24 years – resumed after Fury’s lopsided beatdown of Derek Chisora last December.

The oil-rich King of Saudi Arabia was expected to land the mouthwatering duel – which is set to take place in April.
But according to ESPN, the eagerly-anticipated clash of undefeated heavyweights could take place under the famous Wembley arch.
Reporter Mike Coppinger said: “This fight was headed to Saudi Arabia.
“Now it could be headed to England, which means less money in the pot for everybody.

“And Tyson Fury wants a lot of money to fight Usyk regardless of what he said in the past that it wasn’t about money, that he’d fight for free, but this is prizefighting, after all.
“They have to figure this out, and it’s looking like it’s heading to Wembley Stadium in London in late April, which is a better site for the fight.
“You can get 90,000 to 100,000 packed in there.
“Tyson Fury is a huge star, but they’ve got to figure this money problem right now.

“They’ve gone to the Usyk side to get some money from there, and it’s not worked out, of course.”
Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum revealed last week Wembley was the preferred venue for the bout.
The Top Rank chief told Sky Sports: “It depends [on] what the deals are and so forth.
“There are a number of us that would prefer the fight to be in Wembley, but again it depends on the money.

“The fighters have a very short limit of their careers and they have to make whatever money.
“Particularly large amounts of money, because in a few years it’s not going to be available.
“I just think it’s going to be a tremendous fight.”
WBC king Fury has been left frustrated by the delay in finalising the career-defining fight, telling Sky Sports: “I’ve been training and we’re just waiting on an announcement.

It ran for three seasons before being cancelled by Disney in 2019.
Jake was written out of the script in season two, while Logan appeared in the show until it was ditched by the producers.
But it is quite incredible just how different the pair looked then compared to now.
Since getting into combat sports, they have both grown beards and bulked up significantly.

But six years ago, they looked incredibly boyish and every inch Disney stars.

“Being a part of the Disney family for the past two years was incredible and a dream come true.

‘Arrogant, egotistical, greedy p***k’ – Jake Paul rips into Tommy Fury for ‘wasting boxing community’s time’

JAKE PAUL says Tommy Fury is an “arrogant, egotistical p***k” whose greed almost wrecked their showdown. The celebrity pair will finally fight – at the third time of asking – on February 26 in Saudi Arabia.

YouTuber turned boxer Paul has accused Paul of almost scuppering their boutCredit: GETTY
Fury, the 23-year-old brother of heavyweight world champ Tyson – kyboshed the first two planned bouts with injuries and immigration issues.
And he seemed the lesser interested star in promoting the pay-per-view spectacle on Saturday night, when they came face-to-face in Wembley.
Paul did hours of media work and Tommy refused to hang around.
Paul, the 26-year-old American who has made crossover boxing and YouTube controversy an art form and a career, still worries Fury will pull out for a third time.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
And he has former UFC bad boy Mike Perry on standby for the painful possibility.
The Problem Child is adamant Tommy is only playing at pugilism to keep his famous fighting family happy and his ego will force him to cancel before getting beat.
When asked about Fury’s minimal cooperation around selling the fight, Paul told SunSport: “It’s not really a shock.
“I can totally see him as that type of person.

“That’s why I commented on his Instagram: ‘Yo you better show up tomorrow. Please show up’.

“Because he’s wasting all of our time – he’s wasting the boxing community’s time, he’s hurting the sport, wasting a tonne of people’s money.
“So he’s just not a professional guy and he seems like a bit of an arrogant, egotistical p***k, honestly.”
Since starring on Love Island, Fury has won eight professional fights, against unknown opponents and failed to impress purist fans.
Paul has beaten up fellow influencers, basketball players and ex-UFC fighters half his size.
This is the first 50:50 of both mens’ career and will make them life-changing money.
And Paul insists the two-year delay in delivering it for the Gen-X generation who find these match-ups amusing is down to Fury trying to price himself out.

🥊 How to watch Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury: Date, UK start time, live stream, TV channel
He said about the delay in confirming the eight-round catchweight clash: “Yeah they took forever.
“For whatever reason, people in boxing – and it’s a real problem – they just make all of this s*** so complicated when it doesn’t need to be.
“It’s date, weight, ring size, that’s about it. That’s all you really need.
“So everything else is just stalling or negotiation tactics or pricing yourself out if they’re scared.
    Read More on The Sun
“It was a lot of greed, which is tough because he’s never been paid anywhere near this amount.
“So we’re really taking a leap of faith on him and that was the big thing: a lot of greed.” More

First, Fury pulled out due to injury before having to step away for the second time following some visa issues while trying to get into the US.
And while in negotiations the third time around, it’s been reported that Fury wanted to wait until his baby with Molly Mae Hague was born until getting their big fight on.
According to Paul, Fury and Molly-Mae’s baby HAS been born.
What did Paul say about Fury and Molly Mae’s baby?
Once the fight was announced, Paul tweeted: Paul tweeted: “Tommy has no excuses now – Baby’s born.
    “Money’s massive. Immigration no issue.”
Fans were then quick to point out that an official announcement had not yet come from either Fury or Molly-Mae.
When quizzed on leaking the news, Paul was unaware of what he’d done.

Paul has also since doubled down on his claims that Tommy and Molly Mae’s baby has been born.
“Yeah. It’s a bit bizarre. Two of his biggest life moments in a very short time period here,” Paul said about Fury’s situation.
“I was telling my friends: I don’t know how he’s mentally going to be able to deal with that.
