The two boxing legends are coming out of retirement for the showdown on September 12.

Despite having a combined age of 105, the pair will go head-to-head in an eight-round exhibition bout.
Tyson had no shortage of offers as he prepared for his return to the ring 15 years after his retirement.
But Iron Mike confirmed with a social media clip that Jones Jr will be his next opponent.
SunSport have pulled together everything you need to know about the former four-weight world champ.

Jones Jr, who was born in Florida, enjoyed an incredible boxing career that spanned from 1989 until 2018.
He announced his retirement two years ago following his win over Scott Sigmon.
The 51-year-old hung up his gloves with a record of 66 wins from 75 fights including 44 knockouts.

Roy Jones Jr will stpe into the ring to face Mike Tyson in September
He won world championships at middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.

Jones Jr looked unstoppable in the early stages of his career as he racked up a 49-1 record – with the one defeat coming from disqualification.
But he went on to lose seven on his 11 fights between 2004 until 2011.
Seven years later, the pound-for-pound king decided to hang up his gloves.
Ex-boxer Andre Ward claimed he turned down £33million to fight Tyson back in 2003.
Jones Jr, nicknamed Captain Hook, now runs a combat school in Moscow after he received joint American-Russian citizenship in 2015.
Despite having 75 professional fights, Jones Jr described the fight as “risky” in the first promo video.
He said: “Boxing’s a brutal sport. He [Tyson] dominated.
“His legs are huge, his thighs are huge, his arms are huge, his neck is huge. So it’s very risky, yes.
“I was beating everybody in every weight class I was in – what are you going to do?
“It’s like David and Goliath; he’s the giant and I’m little David with only God on my side – which is all I need.”

    6

The 51-year-old stayed true to his word and accepted the fight after he claimed he would.
Earlier this month, he insisted it would be an honour to dust off his gloves to face Tyson.
He said: “Yes, it’s true – Mike is a legend. It would be crazy to receive an offer to enter the ring with him and refuse.
“I had no intention of going back and fighting again but, for the sake of Mike Tyson, I agree to make an exception.
“For me, this is an opportunity that I cannot refuse.
“Of all those who wanted to go into the ring with him, he chose me.
“And since he did that, how can I say no?”
As well being one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in history, Jones Jr launched his music career in 2001.
The first rap album he released was called “Round One: The Album.”

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr: Jones rejected £33m to fight Iron Mike in 2003, is 3 years younger and only retired in 2018

ROY JONES JR has proclaimed that he is ready to fight Mike Tyson if the pair can thrash out a mega comeback deal.
The retired boxers, both in their 50s, are tipped to fight on September 12 in an eight-round exhibition contest.

    3

While Jones Jr only retired in 2018 after dropping down to cruiserweight, Iron Mike last fought over 15 years ago.
That bowing out was a rather sad affair with the American throwing in the towel during a pretty even battle with Kevin McBride.
By contrast, Jones Jr finished off his career with a victory in his 75th contest, downing Scott Sigmon in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
But the prospect of a fight No76 against Tyson is rather tempting for the 51-year-old.

Jones Jr recently told sports.ru: “Yes, it’s true – Mike is a legend. It would be crazy to receive an offer to enter the ring with him and refuse.
“I had no intention of going back and fighting again but, for the sake of Mike Tyson, I agree to make an exception.
“For me, this is an opportunity that I cannot refuse. Of all those who wanted to go into the ring with him, he chose me.
“And since he did that, how can I say no?”

    FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE
Jones Jr has three years on Tyson, as well as one inch in height and three in reach.
Since retiring, he has opened a fight school in Russia having received joint American-Russian citizenship in 2015.
Despite Captain Hook’s lengthier spell in the ring, neither man has fought at heavyweight for over 15 years.
Jones Jr beat John Ruiz in 2003 before losing two fights of a trilogy contest with Antonio Tarver.
That sent his career downhill and he would go on to defeats against Joe Calzaghe and Danny Green before settling into lower-tier cruiserweight fights.
Jones Jr even had the chance to fight Tyson back in his pomp, reportedly being offered £33million to do so in 2003.

While Iron Mike was far from the star he once was at that point, Junior felt he would still have the chance to face him later.
Former boxer Andre Ward told JRE Clips: “There was a Tyson fight on the table and I believe I’m accurate when I say that it was somewhere around $40million guaranteed.
“There was an upside too. You stay at heavyweight, keep the weight on, and Tyson wasn’t quite Tyson at that time.
“He was still dangerous but he wasn’t quite Tyson. I think they were working towards it. What I heard was Roy wanted more money.
“Roy somehow said, ‘No, the fight will be there down the road,’ and put his attention to Antonio Tarver, and the rest is history.
“I wanted to see him fight Tyson and ride off into the sunset. One more and you’re out.”

TMZ confirmed: “‘Iron Mike’ will take on Roy Jones Jr. on Sept. 12 in an eight-round exhibition being called Frontline Battle – available on pay-per-view and on the social media platform, triller.”
Tyson, 54, has been inundated with fight offers since he announced he was coming out of retirement after 15 years.
But it’s 51-year-old Jones Jr that will step into the ring with the former Baddest Man on the Planet first.
Jones Jr, who retired in 2018, insisted earlier this week that would he would love to fight Iron Mike.

Tyson is the early bookies’ favourite with BetFair fancying the youngest-ever heavyweight champ at 4/11 with Jones Jr back at 5/2.
The former four-weight world champion competed at heavyweight when he lost his belt to Antonio Tarver in 2004.
He then spent nine years at cruiserweight before he eventually hung up his gloves with a record of 66-9.
Former world champion Andre Ward previously claimed that Jones Jr turned down a whopping £33m to face Tyson in 2003.
Iron Mike called time on his boxing career in 2005 with a remarkable record of 50-6.

Floyd Mayweather won’t rule out Conor McGregor rematch but it would ‘have to be worth it’ and won’t be MMA bout

BOXING legend Floyd Mayweather has refused to rule out a second fight against Conor McGregor – but he has stated the bout wouldn’t take place in the Octagon.
The 43-year-old has rubbished the idea that he could switch sports, despite teasing fans in the past that he could enter the world of MMA.

    1

Mayweather hasn’t fought professionally since his 2017 bout against McGregor where he stopped the Notorious in the tenth round.
And it appears that the 1996 Olympic bronze medallist would welcome another match-up against the two-weight UFC world champion.
Speaking to Forbes about whether he would entertain another fight against McGregor, Mayweather said: “For now, I’m happily retired.
“You never know, but it would have to be worth it.

“Just like gambling right? Juice worth the squeeze no matter who the opponent is.”
    IT MAY HAPPEN
Asked whether he would be prepared to face McGregor or Khabib Nurmagomedov in the Octagon, Mayweather point-blank refused.
He commented: “No [I won’t compete in MMA].
“I think just like how winning teams receive home-field advantage in the playoffs…you don’t fix what isn’t broken, and my record isn’t broken.”

The former five-weight did state though that he is in talks to return to Japan to compete in another exhibition bout.
He revealed that he is in discussions about a bout to take place in Tokyo once again, the same city he won £7million in December 2018 after beating kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.

Billy Joe Saunders fined £15k by British Boxing Board of Control but free to box again after domestic violence video

BILLY JOE SAUNDERS has been whacked with a £15,000 fine for his disgusting video that appeared to condone domestic violence.
The brilliant southpaw posted a video in March of himself punching a bag and advising viewers how to mimic his skills if a partner was annoying them during lockdown.

    2

Saunders, 30, uploaded a sick video about domestic violence in March
The two-weight champ insisted it was a private joke, apologised and vowed to make a donation to a womens charity.
And, due to the COVID-19 lockdown and Saunders doing a brief training camp in Fuerteventura, the British Boxing Board if Control hearing was delayed.
But the BBBofC – who are depressed at the prospect of the undefeated super-talent spoiling his career with repeated brainless antics – have finally dished out a punishment.
The Hatfields super-middleweight has escaped a ban but he has been hit in the pocket, with the funds going to a charity.

The BBBofC said: “Billy Joe Saunders appeared before Stewards of the Board on Wednesday, 22nd July 2020 due to recent comments made on Social Media.
“Following consideration of Mr. Saunders explanation, the Stewards found Mr. Saunders guilty of misconduct and have fined him £15,000.00p to be donated to charities.
“The suspension of his boxer’s licence has been lifted.”
    HEFTY BILL
Saunders could still face more punishment over a sick Tweet he sent to rival Chris Eubank Jr.

The warring pair clashed on social media at the start of July with a string of boxing-related barbs.
But two-weight world champ Saunders went OTT with an unprintable mention of Eubank Jr’s mum.
Twitter took the serious measure of banning him from the platform until he deleted the warped post and will monitor future conduct.
Saunders and Eubank Jr, both 30, have been insulting each other since the build-up to their 2014 fight that Saunders won on points.
The talented Traveller has enjoyed a couple of impressive performances since, most notably against Andy Lee and David Lemieux.
But he is growing increasingly more famous for his pea-brained actions outside of the ring than in it.

In another clip he chose to share online, he told the vulnerable woman that an innocent passerby was a paedophile to encourage her to hit him.

Uchiyama, 40, won 24 out of 27 fights inside the squared circle, before calling time on his career after suffering consecutive defeats to Jezreel Corrales in 2016.
Speaking about a future exhibition fight, Mayweather told Forbes: “We’re working on some things right now for Tokyo, whether 2020 or 2021.”

UNBEATEN middleweight prospect James Hawley has been dropped by his management company for his vile homophobic rant on TikTok.
The 21-year-old was asked by a fan whether he supports LGBT rights, with the 6-0 boxer stating that he thinks gay people are “dirty c****” and that he feels sorry for their families.

    2

James Hawley has been dropped by MTK Global for his views on homosexual people
The clip of Hawley’s views was shared by Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz on Twitter on Wednesday, which showed the Hitman candidly speaking about homosexual and transgender people.
Replying to the question, Hawley said: “I 1,000, 1million per cent do not agree with this stuff. Listen, I can understand girls get with each other all the time at parties and all things like that.
“I don’t care, not a problem. I’d want them to get with each other in front of me.
“But boys on the other hand, and transgenders, there’s something seriously wrong with you. What in the earth makes you want to change your gender and get f***** in the a***.

“What is up with you dirty c****. I feel sorry for your families.”
After his views were flagged to MTK Global – who represent the likes of Tyson Fury and Carl Frampton – they responded by saying they have released Hawley from his contract.
    VILE VIEWS
A statement said: “Many thanks for taking the time to reach out to us and bring this to our attention.
“The management team have made the decision to terminate Mr Hawley’s contract with MTK Global with immediate effect and will no longer be representing him in any format.

“MTK Global does not in any way condone, or support the views that were shared in any way, nor will these comments ever be considered as acceptable from any of our fighters hence the decision that was made by management.

Watch unbeaten prospect stun opponent with cold-blooded one-punch KO… then celebrate by playing air guitar

UNBEATEN boxer Elvis Rodriguez proved he’s the King in the ring after he destroyed Dennis Okoth in the second round with a brutal one-punch knockout.
The 24-year-old left his super-lightweight opponent All Shook Up on Tuesday night as the pair fought in a behind closed doors event at Viva Las Vegas.

    2

Elvis Rodriguez racked up his eighth win in the paid ranks after knocking out Dennis Okoth in the second round
Rodriguez – who hails from the Dominican Republic – sent Okoth crashing to his opponent after flooring him with a straight left having set up his punch with a jab from the southpaw stance.
Okoth, 26, was snapped on the floor with a dazed and stunned look on his face as the referee immediately waved away the contest.
Rodriguez now has eight victories in his professional career – with all of his wins ending by way of KO – to bring his record to 8-0-1.
And he celebrated his emphatic stoppage by living up to his iconic namesake as he performed an air guitar celebration.

His fight was his second of the month following his win over Danny Murray on July 2, and he is scheduled to return to the ring on August 29 as part of the undercard of Jose Ramirez vs Viktor Postol.
Boxing fans were left impressed by Rodriguez’s performance, as they took to social media to wax lyrical over his outing.
One tweeted: “I like this kid, he’s got a lot of potential but gotta face a real test to see if he’s the truth.”
Another commented: “Love watching this kid fight.”
