Mike Tyson, 54, looks in frightening shape with bulging leg muscles while training for return against Jones Jr

MIKE TYSON has shown off his frightening shape as he prepares to make an eagerly anticipated boxing comeback aged 54.
Tyson is training to box fellow legend Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an eight-round exhibition on September 12 in California.

Mike Tyson looks in frightening shape as he prepares to make a boxing comeback aged 54
The youngest heavyweight champion of all time has been in the gym since March working alongside MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro.
Cordeiro shared an image of a trimmed down Tyson looking in sensational form – and fans are getting behind Iron Mike.
One said: “@miketyson looks like he is morphing into his old boxing self its an amazing journey to watch!”
    Another said: “He looks massive.”

One added: “@miketyson is a legend. Keep being great.”
Tyson hasn’t fought since 2005, the night he retired after losing to Kevin McBride.
But on his comeback, the California State Athletic Commission, who have sanctioned the bout, urged the headliners to restrain from knockouts.
But Jones, who tried to fight Tyson in 2003, knows the commission “can’t control” the feared puncher and will treat the bout like any of his other 75.

Eddie Hearn accepts Frank Warren’s Matchroom against Queensbury fighters challenge with ‘business to be done’

EDDIE HEARN has accepted Frank Warren’s challenge to pit the best of their fighting stables against each other.
Veteran promoter Warren issued a proposal for his Queensberry boxers to go up against Hearn’s Matchroom stars.

Warren issued a proposal for his Queensberry boxers to go up against Hearn’s Matchroom stars
And despite being taken aback at first, Hearn, son of Barry, is open to the idea with “business to be done”.
He told Sky Sports: “I thought it was strange, interesting, all those words.
“It’s a bit weird. In a situation like that, normally you just phone someone or send them an email, saying ‘This is my idea, what do you think?’
“Going out with a press release was an interesting tactic. A lot of the fights I really like, on those cards.

“Some are unrealistic. Dubois against Whyte. We know Whyte is fighting Povetkin and he’s mandatory to Fury. We know Usyk is fighting Chisora.

“We know Joyce and Dubois are fighting, but some of them are great match-ups. I love Buatsi against Yarde.
“If there’s business to be done, I’m all for it.”
Warren’s initial challenge left out the paring of Anthony Joshua, 30, and Tyson Fury, 31, who have already agreed a two-fight deal in 2021.

And though Hearn is negotiating the terms with Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum, he hopes the unification could “open the door” for further fights between the UK’s leading matchmakers.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s Marbella meeting was STAGED, claims Dillian Whyte who brands heavyweight rivals ‘jokers’

DILLIAN WHYTE believes Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s meeting in Marbella was STAGED – and called the heavyweight champions “jokers”.
Joshua, 30, and Fury, 31, were pictured having a quick roadside chat last month as they vacated in Spain.

WBA, IBF and WBO king AJ and his promoter Eddie Hearn insisted the viral photo came after a purely chance meeting.
But 32-year-old Whyte is not so convinced.
He told Sky Sports: “That looked so staged. Those two just met at the right time and the right place, and they were just having a casual chat?
“The way they speak on social media – they want to do this to each other. It looks like it was just staged.”

Joshua and Fury have verbally agreed to a double header in 2021, sparking fighting words from both.

But again Whyte was cynical as the two rivals kept it cordial after meeting face-to-face following their prior war of words.
He explained: “I was just laughing. I was thinking to myself, ‘look at these two jokers.’
“If I see someone and they’re talking smack about me and saying they are going to do this and do that, then when I see you, have the same energy.

“I’m not going to be standing outside your car window, standing on the sidewalk speaking to you. Come on man.”

Brit millionaire Joe Fournier puts down £2m bet he will beat YouTube star Jake Paul amid fight talks

BRITISH millionaire Joe Fournier has put up a £2million bet that he would beat YouTuber Jake Paul following talks of a fight between the pair.
Paul, 1-0 in his pro career, is trained by ex-cruiserweight BJ Flores, a friend and former sparring partner for David Haye.

Haye has promoted Nightclub tycoon Fournier, 37, who has an unbeaten 8-0 record, all by knockout.
And after telling Fournier that internet celebrity Paul reckons he can beat him, the businessman offered a wager to the American and Flores.
Haye told iFL TV: “Joe is in Mykonos now on a boat and he’s like, ‘This YouTuber thinks he can beat me?’
“He’s like, ‘Tell him I’ll bet him a million pounds. I’ll bet him a million and BJ a million, winner takes all’.

“He’s deadly serious. He said get me a escrow account and I’ll transfer the money now.
“I’m like, ‘Relax man, just enjoy Mykonos’. And he’s like, ‘No, seriously get me set up and I’ll fight’.”
Fournier turned pro in 2015 after competing in White Collar fights, but he has not boxed since 2016 having been hit with an 18-month doping ban in 2017.
Paul beat social media rival AnEsonGib in Feburary and faces former NBA star Nate Robinson next month on Mike Tyson’s undercard.

Fournier – who once dated Paris Hilton – is ready to cut short his vacation and prepare to fight Paul.

Floyd Mayweather offered ‘sick’ money to make boxing return for exhibition fight amid Mike Tyson’s comeback

FLOYD MAYWEATHER has been offered “sick” money to return to the ring for exhibition bouts.
The 43-year-old has remained retired as a professional since beating former UFC champion Conor Mcgregor, 32, in 2017.

    2

Floyd Mayweather beat Tenshin Nasukawa in 2018
He did box a year later, dominating featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition in Japan earning him £7million.
As SunSport revealed, Mayweather is set to keep his profits up as he entered talks for another money-spinning ring cameo.
And responding to Mayweather’s claims he can earn up to £75million through exhibitions, manager Leonard Ellerbe said approaches have been made.
Ellerbe tweeted: “I got a few sick offers on my desk right now.”

It comes following the announcement Mike Tyson, 54 and Roy Jones Jr, 51, signed to an eight-rounder next month.
Mayweather insisted he is the “pioneer” of exhibition bouts and should be credited for Tyson’s comeback.
MMA promotion RIZIN, who welcomed Mayweather to Tokyo in 2018, are in talks to bring the American legend back to the Far East.

Uchiyama retired in 2016, a year before Mayweather, after losing consecutive fights to Jezreel Corrales, but was famed for his power with 20 KO’s in 24 wins.

Mike Tyson says a normal person could take his punches if they ‘don’t fear death’ and reveals he was a ‘nervous’ fighter

BOXING legend Mike Tyson has revealed how a “normal person” could take one of his punches if they had no fear of death.
Iron Mike was considered one of the most brutal and hardest hitters in the sport after being crowned the youngest world champion aged 20.

    3

Mike Tyson was interviewed by American actor Kenan Thompson

And while he enjoyed moments at the top of game, he also hit rock bottom when his reputation was tarnished after being charged with a rape conviction.
Tyson, 54, spent three years in jail before returning to the ring in 1995 where he reclaimed his WBC title belt from Frank Bruno.
He had 58 fights in total, winning 50 of those including 44 by knockout.
But in a candid interview with comedian and actor Kenan Thompson, Tyson revealed how anybody could take one of his punches if they were mentally prepared for it.

He said: “What is a normal person? It has nothing to do with being an athletic person, it’s about your morale. Fighting has a lot to do with morality too.
“It’s not about taking it, it’s the willingness to die, that’s what life is. When you stand up to it you no longer have to fear it.”
    ‘I’M NERVOUS NOW’
Tyson, formally one of the most feared men on the planet, also revealed how his biggest battle was trying to deal with his nerves before each fight.
He added: “I never thought I could handle being a fighter. It just was. I’ve never been able to handle it.

“You always get nervous. I’m nervous now. That’s just part of life. I believe from my experience that the feeling is a natural defence mechanism.
“You rise to the occasion or you freeze. You learn to deal with that.”
Tyson’s career took yet another twist in 1997 when he famously bit off the ear of rival Evander Holyfield.
And 15 years on from his last professional bout, the Baddest Man on the Planet will step back inside the squared circle on September 12 to take part in an eight-round exhibition bout.

WBC demand Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr fight rules change to bring in headgear and 18oz gloves for fighters’ own safety

THE WBC has urged Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr to wear headgear and 180z gloves for their exhibition bout amid fears for their safety.
The two boxing legends have signed for an eight-rounder on September 12, sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).

    2

Mike Tyson is boxing Roy Jones in an eight-round exhibition bout

    2

Jones and Tyson will not wear headgear for the bout
And though they have been warned to avoid knockouts, both will box in 12oz gloves and no head guards.
It has led to concerns from the WBC – who have nothing to do with the bout – but want to see extra safety measures put in place for the fighters, who have a combined age of 105.
World Boxing News reports WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman as saying: “Both Tyson and Jones should wear headgear that boxers use in sparring.
“They should also wear 16, or even 18-ounce gloves.

“This event is a charity initiative that is highly appreciated and seeks to give sports fans a moment of entertainment.
“That is why the World Boxing Council fully supports the realisation of it. But I repeat, in no way can the safety of the contenders be neglected.
“I am certain that the California State Athletic Commission is taking every single provision to ensure their safety before and during the event.”
Despite CSAC Andy Foster pleading with the headliners to pull their punches, Jones knows the commission “can’t control” the feared puncher and will treat the bout like any of his other 75.

Mike Tyson reveals hidden fear that would allow Conor McGregor to easily beat him in UFC and stopped him trying MMA

MIKE TYSON has admitted he would never fight Conor McGregor in UFC – because of his fear of feet.
The reformed Baddest Man on The Planet has revealed that would be the main reason he would swerve a career in MMA.

And despite claiming he would beat 32-year-old McGregor in a boxing match, Tyson could never step foot in the Octagon.
He said on the Dan Patrick Show: “I don’t think I wanna do that.
“Not because Conor might kick my a**, it’s just because Conor has the right to step on my feet.
“If anybody steps on my feet I’m tapping out. He doesn’t need to hit me.

“If he steps on my feet when we get out the ring it’s gonna be a problem.
“Then we’ll have some police involved. We’ll have the lawyer involved. It’s gonna be ugly.”
Tyson, who is preparing to make a boxing comeback aged 54 by facing Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an exhibition bout, explained his fear of feet in a GQ Sports interview last year.
