      MIKE Tyson has left fans quivering in their boots again – 21 years after embarking on boxing’s most terrifying ring-walk ever.
      In 1999, Iron Mike took on South Africa’s Francois Botha at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

      Not only was it Tyson’s return to the ring after biting a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear – it was a return to the very same arena.
      That alone would be enough to create a tense, chilling atmosphere.
      But add in Tyson’s ring-walk and fans have been left running scared watching it back ever since… all of 21 years.
      The American boxer powerfully strode to the ring to the sound of DMX’s “Intro – It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot” looking terrifyingly determined, to a mixed chorus of cheers and boos.

      The video has racked up nearly three million views and has enjoyed a huge influx of hits lately as fans look to fill the void with no live sport to follow.

      And one viewer commented: “If I was Botha I would have just took my gloves off, left them in the ring, and got the next flight back to South Africa.”
      Another said: “Never seen a more intimidating fighter of all combats sport combined in 25 years than Tyson. He’s a myth.”
      A third joked: “He could walk out to the song ‘row, row, row your boat’ and it would scare people.”

      Tyson went on to win the fight, via a fifth-round KO – but he later admitted he wasn’t at his best.

      After the fight, he claimed: “I’m a little embarrassed. I wanted to shine tonight. It takes time. It takes time.
      “Rome wasn’t built in a day… I’ve got to improve a lot more. I’ve got a long way to go.
      “I wasn’t worried. I knew I was going to knock him out. It was just a matter of time.”

      BOXING’S first all-British women’s world title fight ended in a bloody and beautiful draw.
      WBC super-featherweight Queen Terri Harper, 23, took on her 36-year-old childhood idol Tasha Jonas in a brilliant seesaw of a fight that the judges could not split.

      Liverpool southpaw Jonas scored with the bigger single shots, while Doncaster lass Harper was busier with more flurries and both vowed to rematch after doing the sport immensely proud.
      After a cut to Jonas’ eye left both womens’ white top tinged a gruesome pink, the judges scored it 96-94 Harper, 96-95 Jonas and 95-95.
      Harper said: “I caught her, she caught me and we hurt each other. I am only 23 and I only had 16 amateur fights.
      “I want to thank Tasha for that fight, it was a great learning fight for me and I will go right back in for the gym, for the next one.

      “She hurt me in the eighth, wobbled my legs and I had to get back and suck it up for the last two rounds.”
      Southpaw Jonas, with her daughter Mela’s name etched on her shorts, started busier and landed with the best punch of the opening round when a left hand connected.

      It was history in the making and she is going to be in the game for a long time so I am proud but gutted I am not going home with the belts.

      Harper launched an attack as soon as the second started but the veteran whipped in a counter left hook that was thudding.
      Despite the strong start it was Jonas, the first woman boxer to represent Team GB, who was cut.

      The third was a two-minute war as the women slugged it out. First Jonas looked wobbled but then Harper was backed down by an attack from the Liverpool ace.
      Close-range hooks and uppercuts were swapped in the fifth, making it almost impossible to split the battling females with 13 years difference.
      But Jonas showed her experience in the sixth when a left hand stumbled Harper but at the bell it was Harper rocking her rival’s head back with a straight right hand.

      A Harper right hand ripped through Jonas’ guard in the seventh and Jonas was told by trainer Joe Gallagher during the break that he had her 4-3 down and she needed a right hook to get her back in it.
      And the advice worked a treat as Harper was instantly stunned at the start of the eighth. 
      The Scouse leftie crashed in a left hand and followed it with a booming right hook that had Harper shook, clinging on and fighting to stay upright.
      In a punishing ninth-round clinch, Jonas stepped back and cracked the Doncaster girl with another right hook.
      The pair shared a phonebox full of punches in the final round, a Harper uppercut caught the eye but Jonas never wilted and heard the final bell for the first time in her career and was lifted aloft by trainer Gallagher in hopeful celebration.

      Jonas said: “I felt I had done enough, level up until eight and I won nine clearly and 10. It was history in the making and she is going to be in the game for a long time so I am proud but gutted I am not going home with the belts.
      “Hopefully we have made the public proud of women’s boxing and convinced anyone who wasn’t sure about it before. I would do the rematch 1million per cent.
      “At least the world title bouts stay on this side of the Atlantic.”

      THE WBC are insisting that Tyson Fury must face Dillian Whyte if he beats Deontay Wilder for a second time.
      It would mean the undisputed title decider between Fury, 31, and Anthony Joshua being pushed back again – despite the pair agreeing a two-fight deal for 2021.

      Whyte, 32, defends his WBC mandatory status against 40-year-old Alexander Povetkin at the end of the month.
      And Fury is set to give Wilder, 34, his contracted rematch at the end of the year, but has been warned he will not be able to jump straight into a Battle of Britain with AJ.
      WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman: “We have had the flexibility with our champions and the WBC has approved Fury to fight by the end of the year.
      “If it’s announced that it might be December 19, and the winner must make the mandatory defence early next year.”

      Whyte has been the WBC’s No1 ranked challenger since 2017, but only last year earned his spot as mandatory after beating Oscar Rivas.
      But his status was revoked after an ‘adverse finding’ was found in his pre-fight drug test, and the WBC instead handed Fury a shot at Wilder’s belt.

      However, Whyte was eventually cleared of any doping violations by United Kingdom Anti-Doping, but could only watch as the Gypsy King won the belt in February.

      Despite huge demand for Britain’s two heavyweight kings to finally settle the score, promoter Eddie Hearn insists Whyte must get his chance first.
      Hearn said: “Dillian takes priority. Dillian has to have that fight by the end of February, and if it goes into March, it goes into March.
      “Anthony Joshua is boxing in December. He won’t be ready to box again until June-July.
      “Everybody acknowledges that’s the mandatory and that it’s next.”

      Should Whyte finally get his shot at the WBC title next year, it paves the way for WBA, IBF and WBO champion Joshua to face Oleksandr Usyk.
      Usyk, 33, fights Dereck Chisora, 36, next but is already the WBO mandatory challenger.
      Hearn hopes for AJ to challenge Fury for the undisputed title in the summer with a rematch following in the winter.

      World champ Anthony Joshua seems to be adding on the muscle as he meets fellow Brit Tyson Fury in Marbella
      The 30-year-old’s rat-a-tat rhythm contrasted with the slower pounding of the iconic boxing movie tune.
      But then and now he showed the same gym routine that helped take the 2012 Olympic super-heavyweight king to the top as both an amateur and pro.
      AJ has of course piled on the muscle since then, particularly in recent weeks, with ripped shots of him almost bursting out of tops.
      And he was snapped “accidentally” bumping into Tyson Fury in Marbella in a bulging white T-shirt, suggesting he will be much bulkier against Pulev than he was in dethroning his only ever conqueror Andy Ruiz last December.

      By coincidence, Muhammad Ali was also in his second reign as world heavyweight champ when the first Rocky film came out in 1976.

      But it was AJ’s maturity rather than movie-style heroics that impressed most when he dismantled Ruiz for revenge.
      And promoter Eddie Hearn insists Joshua must prepare just as shrewdly against Pulev.
      Hearn told Sky Sports: “Sparring wise? You need a tall, stand-up fighter who is technically sound.

      “Pulev is very experienced, very good technically, punches a bit. You need to find a tall heavyweight that replicates that style.

      Warren revealed his ten-fight plan to SunSport on Tuesday, pitting the best of his Queensberry stable against a crop of Hearn’s Matchroom squad.
      Hearn instantly kiboshed hopes of heavyweights Daniel Dubois v Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce v Derek Chisora, as Whyte is mandatory for Tyson Fury’s WBC title and Del Boy is scheduled to box Oleksandr Usyk when crowds are allowed back.
      But he did agree to meet to thrash out the terms and thaw one of the frostiest grudges in the sport – and Warren hopes EVERYTHING is on the menu.

      Warren told SunSport: “It was only a brief phone call after I had left a voicemail with him.

      “But  we have agreed to meet, which is brilliant for the sport.
      “People have tried to poison the well already and predict it falling through but it is in our power to do it now, we have taken the first step.
      “I don’t care if we meet in a top-end restaurant or a greasy spoon cafe, he can order champagne and lobster or a fried egg sandwich and builder’s tea.

      “If he wants to meet in a phonebox,  it’s all fine with me. And I will be paying — he can leave his wallet at home.”

      Warren, 68, stepped up his matchmaking skills this week when he chased 18-stone Chisora around the West End in his tiny motor, trying to make the Joyce fight.
      The Hall of Fame promoter spotted the Finchley brawler squeezed into his smart car and offered him the fight there and then.

      The WBA champion even threatened to FIGHT Mayweather after the retired legend spent time training Devin Haney.
      But with Davis preparing to face Leo Santa Cruz in October, the American was captured in Mayweather’s Las Vegas gym learning some of his mentors old tricks.
      Mayweather – who is continuing his transition into a trainer – drills lead hooks and uppercuts with his fighter.
      Fans on Twitter hailed the 43-year-old as “inspirational”.

      Davis has asked to be released by Mayweather in the past, following frustrations at not being matched up against high-profile opponents.
      And despite linking up for training sessions, Adrien Broner, also a former protege of Mayweather, says the fighter and promoter do not get on.

      Broner said on the Wyatt Promotions’ Wyatt Live podcast: “They don’t like each other. They really don’t.
      “Like I said, me and ‘Tank’ we’re the same. He a little bit more quiet than me.

      “When we’re (Broner and Mayweather) together, we can only be together for two, three days, and then we clash.”

      De La Hoya revealed he was training in preparation to box once again but has now released inside footage.
      The Golden Boy Promotions boss uploaded a video on social media hitting the speed bag.
      In the short clip the former pay-per-view star proves his speed is still there.
      De La Hoya has not fought since 2008 when he was dominated by Manny Pacquiao.

      He has gone on to find success in promoting in his years in retirement, recently guiding the career of Saul Canelo Alvarez.
      But De La Hoya is seriously considering a comeback and will make a decision once Tyson fights Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an eight-round exhibition next month.

      De La Hoya told The Ring Digital: “I actually want to see what Tyson does first. I have been working out, I have been training, I have been staying in shape. 

      “Obviously, I’m not in fighting shape yet to go 12 rounds. I’m sure I could get there.
      “We’ll see. I want to see Tyson perform, see how his reflexes are, see if he can go past three or four rounds. We’ll see and then I’ll make my decision.”

      TYSON FURY looked lean and mean as he stepped up training ahead of his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder.
      The Gypsy King has been pounding the pavement with long runs during lockdown.

      And his daily fitness classes with wife Paris proved a major hit with the public during lockdown.
      But, much like Anthony Joshua, he has not shed any muscle and looked to still be carrying the perfect amount of weight in a training photo he posted today.
      WBC heavyweight king Fury captioned the snap: “Come get some smoke!”
      Earlier, he posted a video while out on one of his jogs.

      He ran next to a river in what appeared to be Morecambe, where he lives with wife Paris and their five kids.
      Clearly not a fan of the typical British summer weather, Fury said: “What a day. Absolutely p***ing down!
      “Stay positive. Stay happy. Stay focused.”

      The Brit hero looked to be out running with fellow British boxer Isaac Lowe.

      WBC International Featherweight champ Lowe, another Morecambe resident, featured on the undercard of Fury’s win over Tom Schwarz in June last year.
      Fury, 31, then tucked into some salmon, scrambled eggs and avocado on toast with Paris.
      The two-time heavyweight champ is keeping sharp ahead of his third clash with Wilder after battering the American into his first ever professional loss in February.
      Fury trained up to FOUR times a day during lockdown.
