Carl Frampton reveals wife Christine had to feed and bathe him at Christmas after he broke BOTH hands

CARL FRAMPTON’S Christmas stank as he could not  wash himself but he is taking baby steps toward a third world title tonight.
The 33-year-old Belfast hero underwent a painful December operation on the scarred and heavy hands that have helped make him arguably the greatest fighter Ireland has ever produced.

    2

Carl Frampton broke both hands – leaving him unable to wash himself before a painful operation
The surgery left him unable to carry out the most basic of human tasks.
But, with the help of his beloved wife Christine, he got back on track for a crack at the WBO super-featherweight crown once Covid travel restrictions improve.
Ahead of his tune-up against Darren Traynor at an empty York Hall, Frampton told SunSport: “The hands are good. They look s**t but they’re all right, they feel good.
“I had the op five days before Christmas which was then a disaster because I had my hands bandaged for the week.

“I could barely eat or drink without help but wiping my arse was the big issue.
“But luckily the painkillers they gave me had me completely constipated, so I went eight days without a s**t!
“But the missus bathed me every second day, which was nice.”

    2

Frampton pictured with beloved wife Christine
The back end of Frampton’s celebrated career has been something of a rollercoaster.

He lost two fights after an opponent fell over in the shower and when a hotel statue fell on his hand and shattered one of his powerful paws.
It is hard to find a  single person who does not want the 5ft 5in  powerhouse to bow out on a high note, apart from one Twitter troll.
The Jackal said: “There is one guy who hammers me all the time, I almost always ignore him but one recently got to me and I replied.
“You can get too obsessed with social media and maybe I was for a little while so I leave it now.
“But that bloke is a proper d***head.”
After his East London bout, Frampton dreams of fighting Jamel Herring for his third title, on the mooted December 19 Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder trilogy show.

In between  he has another behind-closed-doors clash when his multi-million pound case with former manager and mentor Barry McGuigan is heard on September 8.
He said: “Part of the reason why I am trying to win a third world title is, when a kid in the playground says ‘Barry McGuigan was the best fighter Ireland has ever produced’, my kids can say ‘well actually my dad was a three-weight world champion and better than Barry McGuigan’.
    “That’s part of the motivation.”

Tyson Fury trains with dad John on Morecambe beach in front of local fans as he targets fight by end of year

TYSON FURY put on a workout with his dad John in front of local fans at Morecambe Bay.
The heavyweight champion, 31, treated his supporters to an impromptu training session on the sand.

He hit pads with John with a small crowd cheering on.
Fury, who recently got his dad on Instagram, is preparing for his next fight, having won the WBC title against Deontay Wilder in February.
The pair are signed to a trilogy bout, which was targeted for December.
US promoter Bob Arum warned the rematch could now be backdated as far back as February.

But according to Fury’s UK matchmaker Frank Warren, the Gypsy King is desperate to fight again before the year’s out.
And he has been instructed to find the unbeaten heavyweight a bout before 2020 is over.

    4

Warren said: “Tyson made it very clear – I’ve got to give him a fight by the end of the year.
“I don’t want him fighting behind closed doors.

“But Tyson’s been in lockdown since February so, by December, it’s ten months out of the ring.”
Fury’s chances of immediately defending his belt against 34-year-old Wilder relies on when fans are allowed to return.
The heavyweight division’s hero is not ruining out fighting in front of an empty arena.

Floyd Mayweather negotiations to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov collapsed as Russian didn’t want to ‘break’ UFC contract

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV revealed negotiations to fight Floyd Mayweather collapsed as he did not want to “break” his UFC contract.
Mayweather retired from professional boxing in 2017 after easily beating Nurmagomedov’s rival Conor McGregor.

Khabib revealed negotiations to fight Floyd Mayweather collapsed as he did not want to ‘break’ his UFC contract

    3

Nurmagomedov was told he would be breaching the terms of his UFC deal if he was to box Mayweather
Shortly after UFC champion Khabib defeated McGregor in 2018, he called out 50-0 unbeaten boxer Mayweather.
Nurmagomedov was told he would be breaching the terms of his UFC deal if he was to box the American – despite loopholes being found in the terms.
But the Russian grappler wanted to remain faithful to his employers.
Nurmagomedov said: “They told me: ‘Yes, you’ll be scolded, fined. But we’ll take care of all the fines.’

“I told them that, for me, a contract is more important than money and we can’t have an agreement with UFC if we’re willing to break it.
“I’m not aware of the UFC’s own position on the Mayweather fight.”

The UFC forbids their stars from competing in other combat sports, with McGregor needing an exemption to make his boxing debut three years ago.
Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz last year revealed Mayweather was in line to face his client in Saudi Arabia this January.

But UFC boss Dana White called off the pay-per-view spectacle.
Mayweather last November announced he was coming out of retirement in 2020 to work with White again.
The UFC promoter recently revealed the former box office king wants to make a comeback.

Inside Daniel Dubois’ brutal sparring ahead of Joe Joyce clash as SunSport get exclusive access to Canning Town gym

DANIEL DUBOIS the silent assassin is causing sickening sounds in deepest darkest Canning Town.
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, the Peacock Gym remains closed off to its usual swath of noisy members who can usually drown out the thuds of even the hardest hitters.

The Brit heavyweight roped in Dorin Krasmaru to help him prepare for his bout with Joe JoyceCredit: The Sun

But with just a handful of strictly tested pros operating in the far end of the famous sweatbox – during a brutal heatwave – SunSport was granted unprecedented access to film the usually top-secret sessions ahead of Dynamite Dan’s August 29 bout with Erik Pfeifer.
Three men are paid to take turns this Wednesday morning trying to take off the 22-year-old’s head.
But more importantly they must be able to withstand his power.
Lead sparring partner – and somehow close friend – Dorin Krasmaru is also a part-time security guard at a local East London store.

Dorin understands he has to be on his A game because I am always going in for the kill and I take any opportunity
Daniel Dubois on his sparring partner Dorin Krasmaru

Chasing down villains and daring to confront possibly armed thieves must be the easiest part of his day and Dubois respects his rival’s commitment.
He told SunSport: “Heavyweight sparring is hard.
“You can’t always rely on people to turn up on agreed days and do the number of rounds you want in a professional way.
“Dorin understands he has to be on his A game because I am always going in for the kill and I take any opportunity.

“Dorin has been around since day one of me turning pro, I have learned a lot from him and I hope he has learned some from me.”

The sweaty session takes its tollCredit: The Sun

Martin Bowers, Dubois’ trainer, bounces around on his haunches guiding his charge through each phase, praising his successes and curing his few mistakes.
In the politest possible terms, Bowers evicts us for four rounds when he and DDD will focus on a few very specific things for possible-banana-skin Pfeifer.
BT Sport must make it abundantly clear to their viewers in a couple of weeks the Russian-born German is much more than a 7-0 prospect.
The 33-year-old is a decorated amateur with two wins over reigning Olympic champion Tony Yoka.
Members of Frank Warren’s promotional team were even shocked to learn this was the latest target in the Dubois crosshairs.

    FURY COULDN’T BREAK HIM
When Dubois first emerged as a painfully shy teenager, more comfortably in front of an 18st rival than a camera, he was lazily labelled a banger skittling fall guys.
But the wins against Razvan Cojanu and Nathan Gorman unveiled a seriously gifted talent with a textbook full of foundation skills and a Larry Holmes-like jab that could take him around the world without even needing his savage right hand.
For a few of the most recent 14 wins, Bowers has flown in sparring partners from New York, hungry unknown faces with no respect for Dubois’ British title or his potential and they have been sent packing after helping to make him even more devastating.
Hard men like Tyson Fury, Martin Bakole, Mariusz Wach, David Adeleye and Jay McFarlane have done behind-closed-doors rounds with the Greenwich kid and failed to break him.
There is a growing trend among some new-age fighters and trainers that hard sparring rounds might no longer be the essential base for a fighter to build on.

But Dubois and Bowers, the fitness fanatic theatre-lover, remain loyal to the old school idea that the more you sweat in the training, the less you bleed in battle.
The last time Pfeifer faced a young London lad with plenty of promise, it was the 2011 World championships in Baku and he had his nose shattered inside a round by a gangly kid called Anthony Joshua.
If these few insightful rounds in the bowels of the Dubois camp are anything to go by, Pfeifer’s doctors might have another bloody job on their hands.

Andy Ruiz Jr ‘to make ring return against Chris Arreola in late 2020’ in first comeback since Anthony Joshua loss

ANDY RUIZ JR and Chris Arreola are reportedly closing in on a fight to take place later this year.
The 30-year-old hasn’t fought since he lost his WBA, WBO and IBF belts in December when he was outpointed by Anthony Joshua.

Meanwhile, Arreola, 39, has been out of action since his points defeat against Poland’s Adam Kownacki in August 2019.
According to The Athletic, the two Mexican-Americans have agreed a fight to face each other at the end of the year.
Both men are signed with Premier Boxing Champions, and it has been claimed the organisation just needs to finalise a broadcast date and venue.
Ruiz Jr will have new trainer Eddy Reynoso in his corner having dismissed Manny Robeles following the AJ loss.

The 33-2 boxer is looking in great shape after he showed off his slimmer look in a training video.
    RU BEAUTY
It had been thought that Ruiz Jr was to face Manuel Charr after the WBA ‘regular’ champ stated that talks were set to take place.
But a fight against Arreola has always been in the works after the three-time world title challenger revealed negotiations have been held with Ruiz Jr.
Speaking in July, he said: “Yes, actually there’s been a couple of talks [about Ruiz Jr fight], but I’m not at liberty of saying anything right now.

“But they are looking fairly good. Looking very good. I’m actually very excited for that fight.
“I think that’s the only fight that looks promising for myself.”

Manny Pacquiao still wants Floyd Mayweather rematch as he eyes two more fights before retiring to run for president

MANNY PACQUIAO still wants a rematch with Floyd Mayweather as he eyes retirement after just two more fights.
The Filipino great, 41, was beaten in the most-lucrative fight of all time in 2015, with Mayweather, 43, smartly boxing to a points win.

    3

Manny Pacquiao was beaten by Floyd Mayweather in 2015
But Pacquiao has since insisted he fought with a torn right rotor cuff, and pleaded for one more crack at his unbeaten rival, this time injury-free.
With Mayweather appearing to consider another comeback, Pacman still dreams of a rematch against the American legend.
Trainer Freddie Roach told BoxingScene: “What he would like best is Mayweather one more time.
“He would like to get that one back one more time. He would. Watching the fight with no commentary it was a pretty close fight.

“He fought well but he can fight much better and with much more activity. I think the activity would be too much for Mayweather.
“Then again, Mayweather might not come back.”

    3

Mayweather retired as a professional in 2017 after beating former UFC champion Conor McGregor – who has also called out Pacquiao.
But, last year, he announced plans to come out of retirement and work again with UFC boss Dana White.

White revealed Mayweather wants to fight in 2021 with the two actively working together now.
Pacquiao on the other hand won the WBA welterweight title last July against Keith Thurman and plans to make a ring return this year.
But Roach warns the eight-division champion has just two fights left in him before the Filipino senator runs for president and retires from boxing.
