Floyd Mayweather demands £500m to box Conor McGregor and Khabib as he laughs off Irish star’s ‘soft punches’

FLOYD MAYWEATHER has demanded £500million to box Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov – while laughing off the Irishman’s “soft punches.”
Mayweather, 43, revealed he wouldn’t bother dusting of his gloves for anything under £120m, amid rumours of a fight against YouTube star Logan Paul.

But, to take on UFC paid McGregor and Khabib, the 50-0 American legend insisted he would want £250m apiece.
Mayweather beat Notorious in a 10th round TKO in the boxing ring in August 2017, and admitted he is keen to fight the Irishman again – claiming the he “can’t punch”.
The Las Vegas ace told Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast: “Conor McGregor can’t punch. He can’t punch.
“I was having fun… I was like, ‘ah this dude punches so soft, it’s cool.

“I didn’t take no punches, I still got my facilities…
“So why would I go out there and fight these young fighters – these young lions – and risk my health.
“You look at my uncle Roger, you look at Muhammad Ali, you look at them fighters…
“I just say: your health is your wealth.

“So as far as me going out there competing against a guy like Conor McGregor, oh absolutely.”
Speaking on fighting McGregor again – or taking on Khabib – Mayweather claimed: “150 million [dollars]? Not enough.
“Absolutely not, my health is more important… you give me 300 million [dollars], absolutely.
“See, you have to make it make sense, I need to have my facilities also, still be sharp, be able to be agile, hang out with my kids, make smart investments…
“All those things are very important and play a major part in my life.
“So, ‘you need to fight this guy, you need to fight that guy,’ listen, they’re called eras for a reason.

“I had my time, I had my era, so it’s these young fighters’ era now.
“But it’s OK for me to go fight a Khabib or a Conor and pick up – with those two fights alone I could pick up 600 million [dollars]. So that don’t hurt.”
When told McGregor claimed he knows what he did wrong in the first fight, Floyd said: “He knows what he did wrong, he know what he did right.
“What he did wrong was get in the ring with me, what he did right was get in the ring with me because he got a big payday.
When asked if he has had any conversations with McGregor, Mayweather concluded: “No, I don’t like him at all.”

Mike Tyson, 54, has such explosive punching power he could win belts from Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, says Jones Jr

ROY JONES JR believes Mike Tyson could become heavyweight champion again and beat Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Despite now being 54, the American says Iron Mike’s “explosive punching power” alone  could propel him back to the top.

Mike Tyson’s next opponent believes he could still cause problems to the heavyweight division

Jones Jr is coming out of retirement to face Tyson in an exhibition match on November 28.
He insists if his opponent can ‘take care of himself well for a six month period’ he would do well against the heavyweights of today.
And he has every confidence the Baddest Man on the Planet could ‘get to their chin’ and get the win inside three rounds.
Jones Jr told Fight Hub TV: “He [Tyson] has one thing that most of them don’t have except Deontay Wilder which is tremendous punching power.

    4

    How the two legends compare
“When you got tremendous punching power what Mike got, he got a chance.
“Because he can end most of the fights in under three rounds.
“Most of these guys, all you got to do is get to their chin and he got them, because he has that much explosiveness in his punch.
“Yeah I believe if he got in shape, took care of himself for a six month period, he would definitely cause a problem in the heavyweight division, right now again.”

Anthony Joshua claims Tyson Fury has not ‘progressed as quickly’ as him and takes dig at standard of rival’s opponents

ANTHONY JOSHUA claims Tyson Fury has not ‘progressed as quickly’ as he has up the professional ladder.
The WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion is set to face Kubrat Pulev later this year, before then turning his attention towards the Gypsy King.

    4

AJ has claimed that his career has progressed quicker than the Gypsy King

Both Joshua and Fury – who has a trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder to get out the way – have agreed terms on a sensational two-fight deal in 2021.
AJ, 30, first fought professionally in October 2013, a year after winning gold at the 2012 London Olympics.
Fury meanwhile, who is is 14 months older than his Brit rival at 32, first fought professionally in December 2008.
And Joshua believes his rapid rise puts him on a par with Fury despite making his senior bow five years later.

He told Sky Sports: “Remember, he [Tyson Fury] was a heavyweight well before my time. He turned professional in 2008. That was the year I had my first amateur fight!
“I never thought I would catch up to Fury. He was never someone that was on my radar.
“So I’ve never known Tyson until I turned professional and started barking at the heels of these heavyweights who were docile.
“I started bringing some heat. Now they became relevant in my life.

“My relationship with Tyson is only because I progressed as quickly as I did, and he didn’t progress as quickly.”

He’s had two good wins – against Deontay Wilder and Wladimir Klitschko
    Anthony Joshua on Tyson Fury

Joshua also took aim at the standard of Fury’s opponents during his career by insisting his rival has not been in enough major fights.
The Gypsy King is undefeated in 31 contests, the highlights featuring his two bouts against Wilder and his 2015 world title clash with Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury has also claimed a double scalp over then-undefeated Dereck Chisora while he has previously revealed his 2013 US debut against Steve Cunningham was his toughest opponent.
AJ meanwhile has also beaten Klitschko while he avenged a first career defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia last December.
In addition, the Watford-born boxer can count victories over Dillian Whyte, Alexander Povetkin and Joseph Parker as well.

“Over a long period of time, a career that has spanned 12 years, I would have liked to have seen him in some more challenging competitions.
“But he knows what is right for him, and I know what is right for me. As a fighter he has done what he needs to do to be in the position he is in today, so good luck to him.”

Conor McGregor sparring partners reveal how good UFC star is in the boxing ring as he prepares for Manny Pacquiao fight

CONOR McGREGOR is preparing to brace the boxing world again – with opinions soon to be divided once more on the move.
Three years after losing against Floyd Mayweather on his ring debut, McGregor announced he will face Manny Pacquiao in the Middle East.

    7

The 32-year-old UFC star faced critics before and after his loss to Mayweather, ranging from his punching technique and stamina.
Others praised McGregor for his effort against the American legend, having won early rounds and landing 111 punches – more than Pacquiao and Canelo managed.
For some the southpaw star’s quality was never in question, and here SunSport finds out how sparring partners rate McGregor’s capability in the ring.
    Chris van Heerden
Before that sparring saga with Paul Malignaggi, there was an original.

McGregor sparred South African welterweight Van Heerden in LA ahead of his rematch win against Nate Diaz in 2016.
But in all too familiar fashion, sparring footage caused uproar between the pair, with Van Heerden accusing the UFC star of editing footage.
Prior to the fallout, he was full of praise for McGregor, telling Submission Radio: “Can Conor McGregor box? Yes. He can.
“I was shocked at how well he could handle himself in the ring.

“You can immediately see that Conor’s got a boxing background and that he knows how to use his hands. Yes, Conor can fight.”

    Paulie Malignaggi
Before McGregor’s ‘money-fight’ with Mayweather, a now infamous sparring session with Malignaggi threatened to steal the headlines.
Malignaggi stormed out of the Irishman’s camp after pictures and footage leaked – including a disputed knockdown of the retired boxer.
He has since challenged McGregor and mocked his boxing ability, but right after their second spar, the respected analyst gave a more impartial verdict.
Malignaggi told Fighter and The Kid: “Do you want to know if he hits hard? Yeah, I mean, he’s not a weak puncher. I’ll say that.
“People are dying for me to say, ‘Oh he hits hard!’ Oh, his big left hand.’ Listen, if Conor hits you, you’re going to feel it. He’s a grown man.
“I’d say he’s an above average puncher. If he lands a shot with 10 oz gloves, it will probably get your attention.”

    7

Pauli Malignaggi’s infamous sparring sessions with McGregor fuelled a feud
    Tiernan Bradley
McGregor recruited the help of seven-time Irish amateur champion Bradley, who turned pro this year.
The welterweight prospect did not hold back when lauding McGregor’s hand speed and power.
Bradley told Irish News in 2017: “He caught me with a right uppercut that took me by surprise and temporarily lifted me off my feet – and that was him wearing 16 ounce gloves!
“Everybody talks about the left hand but, believe me, he can bang off either side. He has a supernatural power.
“I’m not being told to say that or put that message out there, it’s just the first thing you notice when you go a few rounds with him.
I already knew I could take a shot from sparring the likes of Lewis Crocker in the past, but I wouldn’t want to be taking that uppercut from McGregor with 10 ounce gloves like those he will wear against Floyd – and especially not the four ounce gloves they wear in UFC.”

    7

McGregor recruited the help of seven-time Irish amateur champion Tiernan Bradley
    Louis Adolphe
Before McGregor flew to Las Vegas, he sparred British welterweight Louis Adolphe, a former Team GB boxer and ABA champion.
The ex-amateur stand out admitted he was surprised with the former UFC champion’s technical ability and understanding.
He told Boxing Monthly at the time: “He is far better than people give him credit for, his understanding of range, the speed of his hands and mind is incredible. Very sharp.
“That surprised me, I remember thinking, ‘OK, this is competitive. This guy has hands’.
“I spoke after about how he would do in boxing, people say he wouldn’t even win an area title. That’s madness – he would with ease.
“I would be setting traps, walking him on to the big punch and then he’s making you think, he’s read that and he’s setting you up for something.”

    7

Former Team GB boxer Louis Adolphe in the ring with McGregor
    Artem Lobov
Lobov is a long-time team-mate and close friend of McGregor’s.
He helped him prepare to face Mayweather beforehand, and claimed sparring partners don’t usually come back for more in their Dublin gym.
Lobov told Reuters: “He has incredible power, a power that nobody else has. I’ve never seen anyone hit that hard.
“You won’t see many other training partners around – only a Russian Irishman can take those bombs.
“That’s why I’m there, from the start until the end.
“When Conor connects, people fall and they don’t wake up.”

    7

Artem Lobov is a long-time sparring partner of McGregor
    Frans Mlambo
Mlambo is another of McGregor’s trusty sparring partners and described what it’s like to trade leather with his gym mate.
The 9-5 bantamweight fighter told MMAdigest in January: “Obviously that left hand is the most dangerous.
“But he is very good at adapting. I like to switch things up if I’m not comfortable as well as he’s very good at adapting to what you’re doing.
“We just bounce off each other real good, especially in sparring. I was always a way smaller guy than Conor.
“And I’ve seen him sparring way bigger guys than me and absolutely destroying them.
“But I think I just got so used to him, that’s why he kept me sparring with him for so long as I could just keep going with him.”

Mike Tyson claims he bribed a police officer with new Bentley following row with wife outside a Burger King over condoms

MIKE TYSON has sensationally revealed that he once bribed a police officer with a Bentley after fearing arrest alongside his ex-wife Robin Givens.
Iron Mike, already a world heavyweight champ by this point in 1988, fancied a Burger King so took Givens along to his local chain restaurant.

Things were going swimmingly… until actress Givens found condoms in Tyson’s pocket.
She then stormed out of the fast food joint, heading straight back to Tyson’s Bentley.
And to Iron Mike’s horror, he claims she rammed the car into the vehicle in front.
When a policeman then showed up, Tyson did what he felt he had to do.

Tyson, 54, told Complex News: “In one of the instances, it happened [was] because I was getting ready to get arrested. I offered [the car] to the cop; the cop took it.”
And speaking on what is alleged to be an affair he was having at the time, he added: “So at this particular time, I’m married; I’m married to Robin [Givens]. So, I was hanging out the night before. I’m a young kid; I’m 21.
“This is me just living my life as a champ. I don’t know nothin’; I’m really stupid, but I think I know everything.
“I’m one of those guys [where] I don’t care that I’m a champ, I’m gonna go get a burger at Burger King. So I’m in line to get a [hamburger].

“She gets in the car; the car we’re driving is a Bentley—brand new, that year. I guess, because she’s angry with me or she doesn’t like the car, so she rams the car into the car in front of us.
“The guy’s f***ed up. The cops come. The cops come and they’re asking me questions and stuff. I kind of panic.

That was just me in my tantrum, ‘Take the f***ing car, alright?
    Mike Tyson

“I’m like a Bourgeoisie [person] in my head; I’m thinking that this shouldn’t be happening to me, all this s***. I just go up to [an officer], I said, ‘Listen, sir. Just take the car.’
“That was just me in my tantrum, ‘Take the f***ing car, alright?’”
And as the officer supposedly showed an interest, Tyson knew he was off the hook.
He continued: “When he said ‘don’t tell me that’, I knew I got him. He wants this car! I said, ‘Nah, you work hard; you put your life on the line. Take the f***in’ car!’
“Me and Robin got in a cab and we just took off and went to New York. I [still] got to hear the s*** though [about my condoms]. But that’s really what happened.”

Conor McGregor explains how his boxing has improved since Floyd Mayweather fight as he prepares to face Manny Pacquiao

CONOR McGREGOR claims his boxing technique has improved since fighting Floyd Mayweather.
And it appears Manny Pacquiao is set to be the opponent who will discover if that’s the case.

McGregor returned to his first ever boxing coaches at the Crumlin amateur club, with former Olympian Phil SutcliffeCredit: Instagram @thenotoriousmma

The UFC superstar made his ring debut in 2017, losing in ten rounds to all-time great Mayweather.
In the open workout before the fight, McGregor was ridiculed for his unusual warm up in the ring before hitting various bags for 12 rounds at the UFC’s Performance Institute in Las Vegas.
Ahead of the Irishman’s UFC comeback in January, he returned to his first ever boxing coaches at the Crumlin amateur club, with former Olympian Phil Sutcliffe, for the first time ever, cornering the 32-year-old in the octagon.
Before he beat Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds, McGregor was filmed back at the UFC’s PI.

There the southpaw revealed he is sitting down on his punches generating more power, opposed to his more unconventional karate-style strikes displayed three years ago.
McGregor said: “I actually look at the Mayweather [fight], the shots on the bag and the way I was punching and I actually can’t even watch that.
“I shiver when I see the way I was throwing my punches back then. I just wasn’t sitting right on them, just floating through the air.
“Now I’m getting into positions and sitting in. Got to go through everything to learn, to truly learn. Experience is the best teacher of all.”

McGregor is preparing to lace up the gloves as a pro again, having announced he will fight Pacquiao, 41, in the Middle East.
The super-fight is targeted for December or January, with the UFC hoping he can return to the cage next year.

They will now instead work alongside those who first taught McGregor how to box – like was the case earlier this year.
Kavanagh told Boxing Productions TV: “I believe both boxers have agreed fundamentally, behind the scenes there are a lot of terms and conditions and legal teams and managers to work out the fine details but I believe it will happen.
“I think it might be early next year but the wheels are in the motion and it looks like I’ll be coaching boxing again.

He told FightHype: “I saw the tweets by McGregor.
