Derek Chisora ‘let himself down’ against Oleksandr Usyk and should have had David Haye in corner, says Dillian Whyte

DILLIAN WHYTE believes Derek Chisora ‘let himself down’ against Oleksandr Usyk and should have had David Haye in his corner.
Chisora was beaten on points by the former cruiserweight king, and despite winning early rounds, Usyk settled into a rhythm as the fight played out.

Whyte, 32, criticised Chisora’s trainers for failing to order more body shots and said manager David Haye should have been in the corner.
He told Sky Sports: “I thought Derek could have done much better.
“He let himself down by not having any boxing experience in his corner to tell him and guide him to tell him what to do and not to do.
“He just went into the ring with the mindset of knockout, knockout, knockout, and that didn’t work. And he just stuck to that game plan.

“Dereck was the boss in the corner. There wasn’t anyone in there. He had some good MMA guys in there, but they’re not boxing coaches.
“They weren’t giving him the advice that he needed to make the changes and adjustments to beat someone like Usyk.
“I would have told Derek to get his jab going and go to the body more often and start cutting the ring off.
“When Derek did hit him to the body, Usyk didn’t like it. He was complaining and that he was getting hurt to the body.

“The corner wasn’t strong enough. Keep working the body and stop targeting the head because Usyk was leaning back and making Derek miss.
“So he should have started targeting the body. I gave Derek three or four rounds at max.”
Whyte, who has twice defeated 36-year-old Chisora, added: “They caught Derek at the right time.
“Why wasn’t David Haye in his corner? Someone that actually knows what they’re doing.
“Not just having mates in his corner in the biggest fight of his life.”
Chisora vowed to bounce back from the loss after a fortnight of rest and put to bed anY talk of retirement.
He told IFL TV: “Two weeks off and I’m back in the gym. Keep grinding.
“I’m not retiring yet. I love boxing so much. I can still punch.”

The speed and footwork on show is a reminder of just how devastating Tyson can be, even at 54-years-old.

Cordeiro has been working with the American legend since March, and oversees his pad work and sparring.
Tyson boasted that he is ‘ready to go to war’ with Cordeiro in his corner against Jones, 51.

Tyson Fury vs Agit Kabayel: How duo compare ahead of potential Anthony Joshua tune-up with German winning all 20 fights

AGIT KABAYEL is the man with the opportunity to welcome newly crowned WBC champion Tyson Fury back to the ring.
The German – unbeaten in 20 fights – has been sent a contract to face Fury on December 5.

It will be the Gypsy King’s first time boxing in the UK since 2018, having signed a deal with US promotion Top Rank last year.
And after cancelling his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, Fury is now using his homecoming as a tune up to prepare for Anthony Joshua.
Here, SunSport reveals how he compares to Kabayel.
    TYSON FURY
For much of his career, Fury, 32, has been renowned for his slick, back foot boxing style that frustrates and bemuses opponents.

But in his second fight with Wilder – having drawn in 2018 – the Gypsy King proved his versatility as he switched tactics and applied the pressure.
It resulted in an emphatic and one-sided beating with Wilder, 35, being floored twice on the way to a seventh round stoppage.
It remains to be seen whether Fury will adopt the same tactics in his return fight or against title rival Joshua, 31.
But he has always been able to adapt if needed, for example boxing Martin Rogan in 2012 exclusively in the southpaw stance.

One of Fury’s greatest strengths is his ability to mix it up, whether that be by fighting on the front foot, cautiously or by switch-hitting.
His improved punching power since joining Javan ‘Suharhill’ Steward – nephew to the legendary Emanuel – is also a major factor in his recently developed style.
Another of Fury’s strengths is his composure in the ring, as even the division’s statistically greatest puncher, Wilder, could not strike fear into his eyes.

    AGIT KABAYEL

Kabayel has sparred with Anthony Joshua
Kabayel turned professional in 2011 and has so far only boxed in Europe, winning 13 times by knockout.
His biggest result was a majority decision over Dereck Chisora in 2017, as the British favourite put in a laboured performance in Monte Carlo.
Kabayel is not gifted with fast feet or particularly quick hands.
But he does carry respectable power and favours the right hand, specifically an uppercut.
But that punch has been most effective against smaller opponents, and will not carry the same success against 6ft 9in Fury.
Kabayel is used to walking his opponents down and letting heavy hooks and body shots go.
He has rarely been put on the back foot, but could be forced to retreat against Fury, who spent all seven rounds last February walking Wilder down.
Joshua spent time sparring with Kabayel in 2018 before he knocked out Alexander Povetkin and then in 2019 before losing to Andy Ruiz Jr.
    FIGHT BREAKDOWN
Fury has likely selected Kabayel – who stands 6ft 3in – to replicate Joshua, who is 6ft 6in.
How he decides to fight next month could be a hint to how he approaches facing AJ.
When Fury stopped Tom Schwarz – who has a similar style to Kabayel – he boxed the first round on the back foot behind a strong jab, throwing an occasional combination.
In the second round he even switched stances and applied more pressure, eventually ending the fight.
Facing an unknown commodity in Kabayel, Fury could chose to box smart in the opening stages, even if he does so on the offensive.

And with Kabayel not used to opponents applying the pressure, he may be forced to work hard and fight at an increased tempo.
It would tire the 28-year-old, allowing Fury to step on the gas towards the second half of the fight, and look to close the show.
It also gives the WBC king plenty of rounds to bank in preparation for Joshua, who faces Kubrat Pulev, 39, a week later.

Adrien Broner jailed for contempt of court after flaunting cash on Instagram despite claiming he was broke

BOXER Adrien Broner was jailed on Monday for contempt of court as part of a civil lawsuit filed against him in 2018.
The 31-year-old was told to pay over £637,000 to a woman he assaulted in 2018, though he has failed to meet a number of deadlines set by Cleveland judge Nancy Margaret Russo.

Adrien Broner has been jailed for contempt of court after flaunting cash on Instagram despite claiming he was broke

Broner posted a clip on social media showing a huge sum of money which angered a Cleveland judge

Broner – who has held world titles in four weight classes – filed court documents last month showing evidence that he was unable to pay the judgement against him as he had just £10 to his name.
However the American fighter flaunted a huge pile of money on Instagram over the weekend, before posting a video showing how much cash he’s spent since 2017.
His antics online have infuriated Judge Russo, who has tossed him into jail until he can provide truthful information about his finances to the woman’s attorney, Subodh Chandra.
Broner has been asked by the court how was he able to show off so much money despite insisting he was broke.

To which the boxer said: “That’s all I did have on me. I got rich friends. I do. I got wealthy friends that take care of me.
“[The money I’ve been posting] is getting sent to me [by] my friends.”
When questioned on why his friends would be sending him so much money, he added: “I got a big heart. I’ll show you I got a big heart.
“And when I did have money and everybody asked me for money, I gave it to them. And now that they see that I need help if I ask for it.”

Pressed on who exactly has been helping him out, he said: “My friends! I can ask Gervonta Davis, Al Haymon, I can ask Stephen Espinoza, I can ask anybody for money.
“They sending it through the bank and it’s coming into my account and I’m spending it. I don’t got no money, I get sent money and spend it, I got to spend it on bills.
Judge Russo wasn’t satisfied by Broner’s answers as she set a hearing for Wednesday.
She said: “Mr. Broner has continually defied every court ordered I’ve given. The jig is up today.”
Broner – who was jailed for seven days in August for violating his probation – has insisted he will be able to pay the woman in 2021.
He claimed he will be fighting for the first time in two years in January where he will be able to then pay the judgement in full.

Chris Eubank, 54, doesn’t need Mike Tyson-style comeback – because he is studying dinosaurs & Shakespeare in retirement

LEGENDARY former boxer Chris Eubank insists he doesn’t need a Mike Tyson-style comeback fight – because he is studying dinosaurs and William Shakespeare!
Eubank, 54, is the same age as American great Tyson – who is returning to the ring against Roy Jones Jr later this month in Los Angeles.

Tyson has worked himself into tip-top shape for the charity exhibition at the Staples Centre.
And he believes he has unfinished business after suffering three losses in his final four fights as a professional.
Meanwhile, fellow fighter Eubank was tipped to return for a final bout against long-time foe Nigel Benn in 2018.
But he claims he had no reason to resurrect the past as he had nothing to prove.

Eubank told Daily Star Sport: “I’ve been doing a lot of studying.
“When things go back to the normal way of being, I’ll have one or two topics to talk about.
“I’ve been studying dinosaurs. Deinos means fearfully-great and sauros means lizard. So it’s fearfully-great lizards.
“Also, I’ve been studying some Shakespeare. And how wonderful that is!

Tyson has worked himself back to top condition as he looks to prove a point

“It’s really something. My favourite is a piece about Othello.
“[Benn?] I think that was a lot of Chinese whispers. I can’t give any credibility to hearsay.
“I don’t think I need to go back and prove anything. I did my winning, I did my losing, I took my beating!
“And I think I acquitted myself like a gentleman. So I don’t have any more reasons to go back.”

Deontay Wilder rejects Floyd Mayweather’s offer to train him for Tyson Fury as he says ‘I don’t feel love from that man’

DEONTAY WILDER has rejected Floyd Mayweather’s offer to train him and declared: ‘I don’t feel love from that man’.
The retired legend has twice reiterated that he wanted to take the heavyweight under his wing and coach him to beat Tyson Fury.

But Wilder – who sacked assistant coach Mark Breland for throwing in the towel against Fury – believes Mayweather’s offer was only ‘for publicity’.
He told Barbershop Conversations: “My thing is, every fighter I’ve fought, Floyd has bet against me.
“It ain’t even for me to discuss. Why all of a sudden, do you want to train? Even with Mark, ‘I need [a trainer], Mark ain’t on the team no more.’
“Nobody had anything good to say about my trainers before, but all of a sudden, ‘You need him.’

“All this time, and all of a sudden now? Why? I don’t need anybody. I’ve made it all this far. Why do I need to change up anything?
“Of course, we need to replace, and you’re going to see what it is. But nobody has reached out to me.
“It’s publicity. When I see people do that stuff, it’s for publicity.
“But to the offer, thank you, but no thank you. I don’t feel any love from that man, bro. Their actions don’t show that.

Mayweather, pictured with Devin Haney, is working to become a boxing trainer

“It’s fake love to me, but they know that themselves. They can’t look me in the eyes and tell me they care about me and want to see me do well.
“They can’t look me in the eyes and be sincere about that because I would feel them.
“They can’t do that because they know it’s not real. It’s not. It’s for publicity and stuff.”
Mayweather, 43, announced plans to move into coaching after his uncle and former trainer Roger passed away aged 58 in March.
But his idea to work with Wilder appears dead in the water, as Fury cancelled the trilogy after their rematch clause expired.
The Bronze Bomber reacted furiously and demanded the Gypsy King, 32, honour their contract.
He also made astonishing accusations of Fury ‘cheating’ by loading his gloves with ‘something hard’ in both their fights.

Wilder lost his WBC title against Tyson Fury Credit: Getty Images – Getty
The claim – made without any evidence – comes despite a member of Wilder’s team and the athletic commission observing Fury having his hands wrapped and gloves fitted.
The 35-year-old then followed up by claiming his water was SPIKED last February and was left with ‘no control’ over his body.
He made the excuse, again without evidence, while speaking to told 78SPORTSTV.
Wilder said: “About 15 minutes before going out to the fight, warming up on the mitts, it was perfect, I felt great.
“Until I went to the ring. That transformation, I was drinking certain water and stuff, trying to keep myself hydrated.
“I just start feeling weird. My water was spiked as if I took a muscle relaxer or something like that.
“After a fight is over with and it don’t go in your favour you’re always looking for what happened.
“Certain things, the atmosphere just didn’t seem right. It felt like something was about to go down, and not in my favour.
“It wasn’t just the suit, my water was tampered with.”

Tony Bellew brands Deontay Wilder ‘insane’ over Tyson Fury cheat claims as Frank Warren rubbishes theory

TONY BELLEW has branded Deontay Wilder ‘insane’ over his claim Tyson Fury cheated to defeat him in February.
The American broke his silence over the weekend following the loss of his WBC heavyweight title to the Gypsy King.

Wilder claimed Fury tampered with his gloves to put his fist in an improper position and stated the Brit had a hard concealed object in his gloves.
The Bronze Bomber also claimed his water was spiked with muscle relaxers before the fight, hinting it may have even been done by his own trainer Mark Breland.
He hinted at further disloyalty by Breland, who threw in the towel to stop Wilder’s brutal beating, while he blamed the loss on referee Kenny Bayless as well in his astonishing rant.
Now former world champ Bellew has also had his say, telling talkSPORT he thinks Wilder ‘has lost the plot’.

He said: “Insane, really insane. Whatever he’s been smoking it needs to stop. It’s absolutely insane. It’s impossible what he’s saying.
“What’s happened here is Deontay Wilder’s gone missing for quite a while.
“And he’s just got a lot of back-slappers and yes-men around him. And in the end he’s listened to these guys for months and he’s come out now and made an absolute fool of himself.”
Bellew continued: “It’s very, very sad because he’s a really good, strong fighter Deontay Wilder and he doesn’t need to go down this path.

“It’s just absolutely ludicrous. It’s ridiculous and it looks like he’s lost the plot.

The Gypsy King’s promoter Frank Warren has also rubbished those claimsCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd

“Which is very sad because Deontay Wilder, if he just comes out and says, ‘You know what guys, I lost, it happens, it’s boxing.’
“He goes into the third fight, looks at the mistakes he made, looks to rectify them. He’s always got that puncher’s chance.
“But coming out and saying that? It’s not possible. It’s insane, it’s just madness.”

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has also rubbished the glove-tampering claims.
Echoing Bellew’s reaction, he said: “All these stories, basically he’s demeaning himself and people lose respect for him when he’s coming out with this stuff.
“Just so the fans know what happens, when two guys fight for a world title as happened in Vegas and in most places around the world, a representative from the other side gets to watch the respective boxers’ hands being wrapped or bandaged by their trainers.
“These are then signed by a representative from the local commission, which was the [Nevada Athletic] commission in that case.
“When the boxers put their gloves on, they [the officials and the other boxer’s representatives] watch them being gloved up. Then around the top of the glove where the laces are, they’re normally taped up [to prevent tampering].
“And again, these are signed sometimes by the referee or by an official from the governing body. So, that’s what happened.
“To talk about weights [in Fury’s gloves], is ridiculous and beyond stupid. It’s just garbage… If anyone should scream, it’s Tyson over the first fight in California [scored a draw]. He was robbed, absolutely robbed.
“Terrible decision, but Tyson was a man, he never made one complaint, he just got on with it and put the wrong right in the second fight by doing an absolute job on Deontay, and Mark Breland saved him from further punishment.”
Fury has chosen to fight unbeaten German Agit Kabayel on his UK homecoming, Warren revealed.
Fury decided to walk away from a trilogy bout with Wilder after the rematch clause expired last month. He will return to the ring on December 5 for a tune-up before focusing his efforts on an undisputed title decider against Anthony Joshua next year.

Floyd Mayweather had to hold back the tears as he talked about Josie Harris

Mayweather, nicknamed Money, is a billionaire thanks to his incredible boxing career.
The 43-year-old has a £20million car collection and has given fans a tour of his £19m Beverly Hills mansion.
He loves to flaunt his wealth on Instagram by posing for snaps with huge wads of cash.
But the American has insisted he would give it ‘all’ up to bring back his ex-girlfriend following her death.

During the premier of ‘Hollywood Unlocked Jason Lee: Uncensored’, Mayweather said: “I got to take my time when I talk about this.
“Everything I asked for in life, any and everything I thought about in life, I got.
“And I’ll say this everyday, just for her to come back, I’ll give it all, man.”
Before he continued: “[I have] replayed this over and over and over in my head a thousand times and one thing I always say, God don’t make mistakes, everything happens for a reason.”

Mayweather then added: “It’s tough. Everyday I think about it, it’s tough. It’s very, very touchy.”
He admitted that he does not usually attend funerals, but he made an exception for Harris.
Speaking about the ceremony, he said: “She was a great woman so I couldn’t put her in the ground.
“I didn’t want to throw dirt on her. A beautiful spirit and a beautiful person, we couldn’t throw dirt on her.
“So, I got her a mausoleum.”
He added: “When we went up the hill and let the doves go, it was good.”
A coroner’s report found that the 40-year-old had died of an accidental drug overdose.
But there was no evidence of drugs or suicide found at the scene.

Mayweather and Harris had three children together – Koraun, Zion Shamaree and Jirah.
The 50-0 fighter has five children in total and he’s set to become a grandfather.
His daughter Iyanna – from a different relationship – is expecting a baby with rapper NBA YoungBoy.
Mayweather and Harris were in a relationship together from 1995 until 2010.
But Mayweather served two months in jail after he was convicted of domestic violence against her in 2010.
