Watch Anthony Joshua shout ‘I’m coming Usyk’ as footage emerges of heavyweight rivals’ exchange after Chisora fight

OLEKSANDR USYK engaged in a ringside exchange with Anthony Joshua after beating Derek Chisora.
Usyk saw past Chisora over 12 rounds to retain his spot as AJ’s WBO mandatory challenger.

And with the former cruiserweight king well within his sights, Joshua took up a ringside spot to watch his competition in action.
After the final bell, Matchroom cameras caught the heavyweight rivals briefly addressing each other.
Usyk, 33, shouted to Joshua: “Anthony hello, how are you my friend?”
AJ, 31, replied: “I’m coming Usyk!”

Joshua returns to the ring on December 12 in an IBF mandated defence against Kubrat Pulev, 39.
Tyson Fury, 32, is due to make his UK homecoming a week later, with Agit Kabayel, 28, sent a contract to face the WBC champion.
Should the pair prevail, they are lined up for an undisputed title decider next year, having already verbally agreed a doubler header.
But Usyk is ready to scupper the plans by demanding Joshua either face him beforehand or vacate the WBO belt.

Eddie Hearn – who promotes the two – has already confirmed if AJ cannot face Fury after Pulev, then he will ‘one million per cent’ fight Usyk.
The possible showdown encouraged unified boss Joshua to take some time out of training and go on a scouting mission.
He told Sky Sports: “I need to see my competition in the flesh.
“I’m in my own training camp but it’s a good time for me to learn what else is out there.
“It’s a business opportunity. I want to come down and see what my competition is doing.
“As much as it is to support Derek, it is to see how good my mandatory challenger will be.”

Despite Joshua and Fury potentially holding up the division for their mammoth Battle of Britain, Usyk is not concerned.
The Ukrainian southpaw is instead adamant AJ will be forced to first face him, or else be stripped of his title.
Usyk said: “I am the mandatory for Joshua so he has two options
“One; to fight me. “Two; to vacate and to go and fight Fury.
“Either he fights me or relinquishes.”I am waiting. I am ready.” More

Dillian Whyte WON’T fight another opponent with Alexander Povetkin rematch set for January 30th

DILLIAN WHYTE will have to wait until January for a rematch with Alexander Povetkin, according to Eddie Hearn.
The Matchroom promoter has insisted that the December fight schedule – which features match-ups for Tyson Fury, Billy Joe Saunders and more – is too ‘cluttered’ for the pay-per-view event.

Dereck Chisora had stepped forward to offer Whyte a contest after his August shock at the hands of Povetkin.
But Hearn believes only the Russian or an unlikely meeting with Tyson Fury is of interest to the 32-year-old.
He told reporters: “The fight that [Whyte] wants more than anything is Alexander Povetkin.
“I think that he has to rectify that defeat or try to rectify that defeat.

“There is one fight that I believe he would take, and that’s Tyson Fury on December 5.
“I’m not sure we’d expect that to happen but, at the end of the day, unquestionably Dillian Whyte would fight Tyson Fury on December 5 – if they wanted to discuss that fight.”

Whyte has already downed Chisora on two occasions but the 36-year-old heavyweight offered himself up for a trilogy fight earlier in the week.
Nevertheless, Hearn is happy for his man to wait out and focus on the rematch with Povetkin.

But he did admit there was a temptation to jump back into the ring and face down Chisora, with it a feasible fight from a financial point of view.
He noted: “Realistically we will postpone that fight with Povetkin to January 30.
“And any fighter who has trained for eight weeks and then loses his fight will say, ‘I just want to fight’. And yesterday that was very much the opinion.
“But Dillian Whyte has got a pay-per-view slot and Dereck Chisora, possibly that could work.

“Michael Hunter even threw his name in the hat – for free, apparently – but that’s not a pay-per-view fight for November 23. Especially with the clutter coming up.
“So I said to Dillian, ‘Unless we get asked to fight Tyson Fury, you’ve just got to wait until January 30’.
“That’s the fight for you and that’s what you’ve got to do. We’ll announce that in the next 24 hours.”

Tyson Fury won’t fight Whyte after he was ‘poleaxed’ by Povetkin and has backup if Kabayel snubs bout, says Warren

TYSON FURY’S promoter Frank Warren has shut down talk that the Gyspy King could face Dillian Whyte in his homecoming bout on December 5.
The WBC heavyweight champion’s name was mentioned by Eddie Hearn after the Body Snatcher’s rematch with Alexander Povetkin was postponed.

Tyson Fury will NOT be fighting Dillian Whyte next month, according to his promoter Frank Warren

Whyte will have to wait in his bid to exact revenge on veteran Russian Alexander Povetkin

Povetkin tested positive for coronavirus ahead of his November 21 fight against Whyte, with their contest now expected to take place on January 30.
The Brit banger is now scrambling to find an opponent before the end of the year, with Fury, Derek Chisora and Michael Hunter all linked with facing him.
But any hope of seeing a domestic dust-up between Whyte and Fury has been quashed by Warren.
The unbeaten Mancunian, 32, is set to face European champ Agit Kabayel next month in what will be his first fight in England since his comeback bout in June 2018.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Warren said: “Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Dillian Whyte get absolutely poleaxed in his last fight?
“At that time, he was the mandatory challenger to Tyson, he kept going on about it, he was going to sue everybody.
“Then stupidly, they put him in with Povetkin and he poleaxed him.
“That’s it, he’s lost his chance. We don’t need him. What is in it for us?”

SunSport’s pound for pound top ten

Before adding: “We’re looking at the European champion Agit Kabayel and that’s the fight we’re looking to make.
“[They’re dragging their heels] because they want more money – everybody does! But we’re close to making the fight.
“Tyson has been training for this guy and that’s the fight he wants. Tyson is not interested in [a fight with Dillian Whyte].
“He’s made that very clear, even before he faced Povetkin. All we’re interested in is getting to face Anthony Joshua after he gets through his next fight.
“That’s the only heavyweight Matchroom has we’re interested in.”

Warren then stated that Fury has another option should his proposed fight to face Kabayel falls through.
He stated: “He’ll either sign it or he won’t, but we have someone else in mind if he doesn’t. So we have a backup plan, but it won’t be Dillian Whyte.
“What’s in it for us? There’s no gain in it.”

Anthony Joshua slams Deontay Wilder for ‘dragging my name through mud’ after he confirmed Brit DID make him fight offer

ANTHONY JOSHUA has slammed Deontay Wilder for ‘dragging his name through the mud’ after claiming ‘the truth’ was out about their failed showdown.
The pair were both undefeated heavyweight champions between 2016 and 2019 and were long-linked with a unification fight but it failed to materialise.

Wilder lost his WBC title to Tyson Fury in February and after failing to invoke his rematch clause he broke his silence since the defeat last weekend with a number of astonishing cheating claims aimed at the Gypsy King.
The American tweeted: “You know I was offered more money to fight Joshua than I was getting to fight you. Again being a man of my word, I fought you.”
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn sarcastically responded: “I thought AJ ducked you?”
Now Joshua has come out swinging at the Bronze Bomber in an explosive interview with Sky Sports.

He said: “It makes the ultimate sense. It’s hard because at the time when people are talking and you see lots of media stuff, you start to believe what that person is saying.
“When time goes by, naturally the truth will always reveal itself.
“I get a lot of stick but I take it with a pinch of salt.
“He admitted it. We made him a lucrative offer but he wanted to face Fury. So be it. If that’s what he wanted to do, fine. But he dragged my name through the mud.”

Joshua continued: “While Wilder was trying to make me look like a bad person, that I didn’t want to enhance the sport, or fight certain fighters, I just had to roll with the punches.
“He has come out and said it himself. We offered him a really good deal but he wanted to fight Fury.
“People can take it how they want, and see what the truth is now.”
Joshua will defend his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles against Kubrat Pulev on December 12.
WBC champ Fury is due to return to the ring the week prior to that with an as yet unconfirmed opponent.
If both come through with victories then they have already verbally agreed to a two-fight deal to unify the division in 2021.

Five fights for Dillian Whyte including Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora after Povetkin rematch is axed

DILLIAN WHYTE’S scrapped rematch with Alexander Povetkin has left the Body Snatcher searching for a new opponent.
The Brit banger was looking to avenge the loss he suffered against the veteran boxer on November 21, only for the Russian to test positive for coronavirus.

Dillian Whyte could still be out before the end of the year despite Alexander Povetkin testing positive for COVID-19

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed a January 30 date has been targeted for the rematch.
But instead of waiting around, the 32-year-old could look to fight once more before the end of the year.
Here SunSport looks at five possible opponents for the former British heavyweight champion.
    TYSON FURY – 30-0-1
Hearn teased a fight between Whyte and the WBC champion on social media, despite the Gypsy King set to fight Agit Kabayel on December 5.

But with that fight yet to be officially confirmed, Hearn has revealed he has spoken to Whyte about facing his compatriot.
He said: “Whyte is more than ready and willing to jump into that fight on December 5. It’s a phone call away.
“If Fury wants a real fight, [Whyte] is there. We would definitely be willing to have a discussion about that fight.
“Obviously if Fury wants a more straightforward fight, we understand that as well. Certainly we are looking to step in and take that fight.”

SunSport’s pound for pound top ten
    DEREK CHISORA – 32-10
Incredibly, Chisora has thrown his hat in the ring to face former foe Whyte on November 21, in what would be just three weeks after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
Whyte beat Del Boy on a split decision in December 2016, before he viciously knocked him out in their rematch two years later.
But Chisora has stated he would relish the chance to face him again, as he told Hearn on Instagram: “Do you want to give me that fight? I’ll take that.
“Want to give it to me? I have no bruises, I’m ready to rock and roll.
“It’s all about making history, think about it, let me know and I’ll take it.”

Whyte knocked Chisora out in their rematch in December 2018
    MICHAEL HUNTER – 18-1-1
The American hasn’t fought since he drew against Povetkin in Saudi Arabia last year.
Hunter – who was outpointed against Usyk for the WBO cruiserweight title in 2017 – has revealed he would fight for FREE against Whyte.
Volunteering to step in for Povetkin on November 21, he told Boxing Social: “I’m the only man that would do it on a day’s notice.
“For free, we’re going to fight for free. They [Team Whyte] can’t say it has to do with the money [for rejecting him as an opponent].
“Call me, you guys. Tyson Fury, Dillian Whyte, Eddie Hearn, you know my number.
“Reach out, for free. It’s an easy business move for you guys. It’s absolutely free. I’ll fight for nothing.”

Michael Hunter was involved in a controversial draw against Povetkin last year
    ANDY RUIZ JR – 33-2
The former unified world champion is yet to step back inside the ring since losing against Anthony Joshua in their rematch.
Ruiz Jr has been looking sharp in training as he bids to become a two-time champ.
And he knows he needs a big win to secure himself another shot, and could see a fight against Whyte as the perfect opportunity to get himself back in contention.

Andy Ruiz Jr lost his WBA, WBO and IBF titles against Anthony Joshua in December 2019

    CHARLES MARTIN – 28-2-1
He may have disappointed against AJ in their IBF world title fight in 2016, but the 34-year-old has quietly built himself up since that KO defeat.
Martin has won his last three contests – knocking out former title challenger Gerald Washington in February.
The American is on the cusp of securing another title shot as he is No2 in the IBF rankings.
And he also sits seventh in the WBA rankings as well as 13th in the WBC rankings.

Mike Tyson hits back at Floyd Mayweather and says belts are ‘like drugs’ after ex-champ slams state of boxing’s titles

MIKE TYSON claimed ‘belts are like drugs’ as he teamed up with Roy Jones Jr to hit back at Floyd Mayweather.
Retired 50-0 fighter Mayweather slated boxing for having too many belts, saying that ‘everybody’s a champion’.

Tyson and Jones Jr will both come out of retirement to fight in Los Angeles on November 28.
Even though it is an exhibition bout, they will be fighting for the WBC Frontline Battle Belt.
And both of them have joined forces to hit back at the 43-year-old American.
As quoted by MMA fighting, Jones said: “First, I don’t care what other people say. I do what I do, it’s my business.

“It has nothing to do with him. So he better stay on the line and do his business, let me do my business.
“I got all the possible belts in my class when I was active. Mike Tyson did the same thing. We are people from the past.
“We want all the belts. I don’t care what kind of belts. still active, I definitely want it.”
The 51-year-old added: “So when you want me to appear right now, of course you put your belt on for this fight. I’m sorry, but it’s like drugs.

“I can not say no. You offer the title race, it means you have succeeded in attracting my attention.
“It may not matter to someone like him, but it means a lot to me.”
Tyson agreed with his opponent as he said: “He’s said everything. Belts are like drugs.”
Mayweather infuriated the two veteran fighters after he insisted that too many belts is ‘bad for boxing’.
Speaking to Showtime Sports’ YouTube channel, the 43-year-old, who retired undefeated, said: “The WBC, the WBA, the IBF and the WBO, y’all have to clean this sh-t up. Y’all have to clean this up.
“This is bad for boxing. Ain’t a such thing as no super champion.
“You guys are just taking extra money from all these fighters, getting extra money from sanctioning fees. And this goes for my company as well.
“We gotta clean this sport of boxing up. This s***, this don’t look good.”

Despite Mayweather’s comments, Tyson has been training hard ahead of his comeback fight.
Incredible sparring footage shows the 54-year-old forcing his coach back against the ropes.
He has revealed he is at lowest weight since the age of 18 when he made his debut at 15st 2lbs.

Evander Holyfield teases Mike Tyson trilogy and asks fans who he should fight next after coming out of retirement at 58

BOXING legend Evander Holyfield has teased a trilogy fight against Mike Tyson in 2021 when he dusts off the gloves at the age of 58.
The American – who is the only person in history to have been the undisputed world champion in two weight classes – is planning on making a return to the ring.

Evander Holyfield has been training ahead of a comeback to the ring age 58

Mike Tyson has been eyed up by Holyfield as he looks to beat him for a third time

Holyfield is in great shape as he trains ahead of his comeback as he eyes up a third bout against the Baddest Man on the Planet.
He already beat Iron Mike in 1996 and 1997, where Tyson famously bit his rivals ear in the third round of their rematch.
But Holyfield clearly feels there is some unfinished business between him and his compatriot as he teased a future fight on Instagram.
He posted a picture of him punching Tyson, along with the caption: “Who would like to see Holyfield vs Tyson 3?

“Or who else would you like to see me get in the ring with in an exhibition?”
And his 412,000 followers were quick to respond, as one commented: “Everyone wants to see that! Literally everyone.”
Another messaged: “That would be epic!!! Tell me this is happening.”
A third added: “Yes please to shut all of Tyson fans up. They still making excuses for him.”

Some then named other potential opponents, as one said: “Lennox Lewis please.”
One then quipped: “Anthony Joshua. Take his belt.”
Holyfield has been inspired by Tyson’s upcoming exhibition contest against Roy Jones Jr later this month to return to boxing.
And with Tyson planning to fight three more times in 2021, Holyfield will surely be targeted by the 54-year-old.

Tyson Fury is ‘entertainer’ while Anthony Joshua would rather be known as ‘great fighter’, says Eddie Hearn

EDDIE HEARN admits Tyson Fury is a top ‘entertainer’ – but insists Anthony Joshua would rather be known as a ‘great fighter’.
The two British boxers are still trying to secure a two-fight deal to unify the heavyweight division in 2021.

Eddie Hearn says Anthony Joshua wants to be known as a ‘great fighter’Credit: PA:Press Association

The Matchroom chief admitted Tyson Fury is an ‘entertainer’Credit: Richard Pelham

Before that both men are due to climb back into the ring before the end of the year.
After Deontay Wilder failed to invoke his rematch clause for a trilogy showdown, Fury is due to face another opponent on December 5.
Unbeaten German star Agit Kabayel has been sent a contract to take on the Gypsy King.
Meanwhile AJ is due to defend the WBA, WBO and IBF titles against Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev a week later on December 12.

Speaking exclusively to Sun Sport, Hearn cannot wait to see the ‘chalk and cheese’ showdown between the two Englishmen.
But he insisted that his Matchroom fighter Joshua is a completely different personality to Fury – which makes the potential clash an even bigger affair.
Hearn said: “I think they are completely different, chalk and cheese. They’re both great fighters.
“I think that’s why it makes the fights so big, not because they’re British world heavyweight champions but they are completely different personalities.

“Tyson Fury, you look at him on the outset and physically he doesn’t look much. You look at Anthony Joshua it looks like he’s been carved out of stone.
“Fury has come back from adversity of drugs, the depression and got himself back in shape when it looked like his career was over.
“Anthony Joshua lost to Andy Ruiz in front of 20,000 people in Madison Square Garden and people wrote him off. He came back and regained his championship. So these are two great fighters, two great people.”
He continued: “Joshua isn’t the one to really shout his mouth off. Fury is an entertainer.
“AJ wants to be known as a great fighter, not entertainer. He wants to entertain the crowds, but he locks himself away and just wants to improve and prepare.
“So I think this is one of the reasons this fight next year is big because the characters are very different.”
One man who Hearn insists is no longer in the title picture is Wilder after his failure to seal a rematch with Fury.
And he is adamant AJ has no interest in facing the now ‘irrelevant’ American after his antics previously when Hearn was trying to get a unification bout between them.

He said: “All we ever received was an email from Deontay Wilder’s hotmail account asking some numbers. We asked for contract details but it was never sent.
“But Wilder and his team are showing true colours. He fought Tyson Fury and lost his belts.
“So he’s now irrelevant in our picture.”
Hearn added: “The only thing Anthony Joshua wants is that final belt, that final part of the jigsaw.
“Wilder had his chance to rematch with Tyson Fury I don’t know what’s happened there.
“To me it’s all very strange, it doesn’t look like that rematch is happening now, which is good news for our fighter.
“Mr. Wilder will have to work his way back up for a shot.
“Joshua’s never shied away from a challenge. His resume is outstanding, he’s a role model to fighters to step up and take up challenges.”
