Watch Mike Tyson, 54, show off ferocious training speed and power leaving fans stunned ahead of Roy Jones Jr fight

MIKE TYSON once again showed off his ferocious speed and power in preparation for his fight with Roy Jones Jr.
Brazilian trainer Rafael Cordeiro has continued to give fans a glimpse of Tyson’s training with another explosive video on the pads.

Mike Tyson once again showed off his ferocious speed and power

Tyson is training for his fight against Roy Jones Jr

In the latest clip, Iron Mike throws a rear hand to the body, ducks underneath and comes up with a left hook and right hand combination.
Fans were left hailing Tyson in the comments, as one said: “Beast mode.”
Another said: “He still got it! Champ!”
It comes just after Tyson was captured backing Cordeiro up against the ropes in another drill on the mitts.

Tyson, 54, is set to return to the ring for the first time in 15 years when he faces Jones, 51, in an eight-round exhibition on November 28.
The heavyweight icon has spent his comeback with MMA coach Cordeiro, where he has dramatically transformed his body.
Tyson’s decision to fight again has inspired other retired legends to do the same.
Oscar De La Hoya, now a promoter, is among those, but instead wants to lace up the gloves as a professional again, opposed to in exhibitions.

But the 47-year-old – who has not fought since 2008 – will have a close eye on Tyson’s comeback fight.
And he has even tipped the reformed Baddest Man on The Planet to win, taking Teofimo Lopez’s shock win over Vasily Lomachenko as inspiration.
De La Hoya said on Instagram Live: “Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr what do I think?
“In boxing, and I think Teofimo [Lopez] proved it, is that a good big guy always beats a good small guy.
“It’s always like that, so I’m going to have to go with Tyson.
“But it wouldn’t surprise me if Jones Jr pulls something off – like he always has in his career.”

Jake Paul says he wants to fight UFC stars Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal to prove he is a ‘legitimate boxer’

YOUTUBE star Jake Paul has expressed his desire to rub shoulders with some of the UFC’s top dogs in order to prove he is ‘someone that people should be scared of’.
Jake Paul, 23, continues to pursue a professional career in boxing after winning his first professional fight against fellow Youtuber, AnEsonGib.

The Youtube sensation wants to bring UFC fighters such as Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren over to the boxing ring to prove he is a ‘legitimate boxer’.
He has also expressed his desire to fight UFC legend Conor McGregor.
Speaking to the Mayweather Boxing Channel, Paul said: “I want to prove to people that I’m a legitimate boxer, legitimate professional boxer with skill and someone that people should be scared of.
“I have knockout power, I’m dangerous, and to me that’s super important and again, that’s just going to take multiple fights to prove that.

“I want to fight the biggest names in the sport, I want to take UFC fighters like Ben Askren, like Masvidal, whoever it is and bring them over to boxing, put them in a ring and go head-to-head with them.
“I want to fight Conor McGregor eventually. Whoever wants to get in the boxing ring with me, I want to be able to do it and beat them.”
Paul’s desire to get into boxing started back in 2018 when he took on English Youtuber, Deji, younger brother of KSI.
The pair clashed at the Manchester Arena, and Paul won the amateur fight by TKO.

After finally being able to compete professionally, Paul stepped into the ring to fight AnEsonGib in Miami, Florida in January 2020.
He ended the fight within one round before calling out KSI in the hope to restore his brothers honour.
The Paul’s are in search of redemption after Logan lost the second fight against KSI at the Staples Centre, Los Angeles in November 2019.

Dana White to enter boxing with undisputed title fight between Claressa Shields and Marie-Eve Dicaire in December

DANA WHITE is reportedly set to finally elbow his way into boxing promotion with the undisputed title fight between Claressa Shields and Marie-Eve Dicaire next month.
Journal de Montreal claims the UFC chief’s Zuffa Boxing company will promote the December 11 battle.

The fight takes place in Las Vegas and will also be available for streaming via UFC Fight Pass.
White looks to have become involved after the fight’s original May 9 date was scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.
White brought UFC to fans from Saudi Arabia with Fight Island to overcome the difficulties of hosting a live event in the USA.
And now boxing lovers can enjoy watching Shields and Dicaire clash for the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO super-welterweight belts.

White made no secret of his desire to enter the world of boxing while talking to the BT Sport Boxing Show in September.
He explained: “The world of boxing hasn’t been able to do what I’ve been able to do [in MMA] over the last 20 years.
“If they can’t do things when the world is normal, you can’t expect them to do things when the world is crazy.
“I peaked under the hood a lot there for the last year.

“Looked at different things and I said, ‘I don’t know man, I don’t know if this is fixable’.
“Funny enough, since the pandemic I’ve been looking at other options too.
“And we’ll probably have something to announce here soon. Yeah [it is in boxing].
“When it’s time I’ll let you know, I’m not ready yet. But [it’ll be] in the next couple of weeks.”

Tyson Fury says he is ‘patiently waiting’ as opponent still to be named for UK homecoming fight on December 5

TYSON FURY is still ‘patiently waiting’ to learn his opponent next month as he steps up his training.
The Gypsy King looks braced to scrap European champ Agit Kabayel next month in what will be his first fight in England since his comeback bout in June 2018.

Tyson Fury is training ahead of his December 5 fight

WBC champ Fury was initially due to take on Deontay Wilder in their trilogy but walked away once their rematch clause expired.
But the 32-year-old insists he will still fight on December 5 and has declared he’ll take on anybody brave enough to step inside the ring.
Despite Frank Warren’s 24 hour warning to Kabayel, no contracts have yet been signed.
And Fury was quick to remind the German that the clock was ticking.

Alongside a video of him in training, he tweeted: “Patiently waiting.”
The Gypsy King had considered facing Oscar Rivas, 33, and Carlos Takam while Dillian Whyte’s name has also been touted.
Whyte’s rematch against Alexander Povetkin on November 21 has been delayed with the latter testing positive for coronavirus.
But Warren ruled it out after he was KO’d by Povetkin in August.

The WBC champ is still without an opponent on December 5

He told talkSPORT: “Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Dillian Whyte get absolutely poleaxed in his last fight?
“At that time, he was the mandatory challenger to Tyson, he kept going on about it, he was going to sue everybody.
“Then stupidly, they put him in with Povetkin and he poleaxed him.
“That’s it, he’s lost his chance. We don’t need him. What is in it for us?”
Fury’s fight next month will be considered just a tune-up before focusing his efforts on an undisputed title decider against Anthony Joshua next year.
Warren added: “We’re looking at the European champion Agit Kabayel and that’s the fight we’re looking to make.
“[They’re dragging their heels] because they want more money – everybody does! But we’re close to making the fight.

“Tyson has been training for this guy and that’s the fight he wants. Tyson is not interested in [a fight with Dillian Whyte].
“He’s made that very clear, even before he faced Povetkin. All we’re interested in is getting to face Anthony Joshua after he gets through his next fight.
“That’s the only heavyweight Matchroom has we’re interested in.”

Manny Pacquiao could fight Terence Crawford next in Qatar, confirms promoter Bob Arum

MANNY PACQUIAO could fight Terence Crawford in Qatar if the American beats Kell Brook next Saturday.
Crawford’s veteran promoter Bob Arum wants a big name fight for his man next time out and he has the Filipino legend in his sights along with Errol Spence.

The Filipino legend is set to return to the ring and Arum wants his welterweight champion at the front of the queue.
British slugger Brook stands in his way first with the pair meeting next weekend in Las Vegas.
But Arum is already thinking ahead with Crawford, 33, favourite to beat Brook.
He said: “The next fight is going to be, as far as I can control things, we’re not going to fool around, it’s going to be Pacquiao or Spence.”

Arum previously claimed he had a deal in place for Pacquiao, 41, vs Crawford to take place in Qatar before the coronavirus outbreak.
And although Qatari officials reportedly pulled the plug, Arum, 88, is said to be keen to revive the deal.
But a US showdown with Spence is also on the cards and Arum called on his promoter Al Haymon to make the fight happen.
He added: “It’s to everybody’s benefit for us to do it together.

Errol Spence is also on Crawford’s radarCredit: Getty Images – Getty

“If the fighters want guarantees, I think [Al] Haymon would be reluctant to face that bill himself.
“If it cratered, he would lose a lot money. This way he would have a partner in the money.”
Last month, SunSport exclusively revealed Spence has Pacquiao and Crawford in his sights too.
The WBC and IBF welterweight champion last year unified the titles by beating Shawn Porter.
But a month later, the unbeaten Texan was involved in a horrific car crash, as his Ferrari flipped.
Incredibly, he came out unscathed, but his next fight which was set for January against Danny Garcia was cancelled.
And 11 months on, Spence, 30, is finally set to face Garcia, 32 when they meet on December 5.
But he is already eyeing Crawford and Pacquiao afterwards in unification bouts.
And he believes an undisputed title reign would cement his place as pound-for-pound No1 – surpassing Canelo Alvarez or Vasyl Lomachenko.

Vitali turned to politics after he ended his boxing career with a record of 45-2 including 41 knockouts.
The 49-year-old has been serving as the Mayor of Kiev since 2014.
And he has been re-elected after receiving 50.52 per cent of the votes.
It is reported that 365,161 residents voted for him compared to 68,757 for runner-up Oleksandr Popov.

After the news was announced, Wladimir turned to Twitter to congratulate his brother.
Wladimir wrote: “Kyiv has elected @Vitaliy_Klychko as the City Mayor.
“Vitali has always been a fighter, now he fights for the people and he’s evolved through experience into quite an empathetic manager.
“He serves our great country and I can’t stop thinking how proud our dad would be of him.”

Two-time heavyweight champion Wladimir retired from boxing in 2017.
He called time on his fighting career with an impressive record of 64-5 including 53 knockouts.
His last two fights saw him lose to Tyson Fury in 2015 and Anthony Joshua in 2017.
AJ has since hinted he could follow in the footsteps of Vitali into politics when he retires.
But Wladimir, 44, still looked fighting fit as he showed off his ripped physique this summer.

Mike Tyson admits he would ‘love’ Evander Holyfield trilogy clash as he eyes more exhibition fights aged 54

MIKE TYSON has revealed he would ‘love’ an Evander Holyfield trilogy fight as he targets more exhibition fights – at the age of 54.
Iron Mike is in training to fight Roy Jones Jr in California on November 28 after coming out of retirement.

Tyson’s original decision to step back in the ring this year was followed by Holyfield getting on the comeback trail – and demanding a trilogy with his old foe.
Many thought the two greats would get it on again – 23 years after Tyson controversially bit off part of the Real Deal’s ear.
In the first fight between the pair Holyfield won in the 11th round by TKO.
But the Real Deal never got to fight the Baddest Man on the Planet in his prime.

Holyfield, 58, has made it clear he would like to fight Tyson again, having become only the second man to defeat him with victory in 1996.
And now the former undisputed heavyweight champion – and one of the greatest boxers of all time – has concurred.
Iron Mike said: “That’s always something that we can do if the people want it, if it’s pragmatic enough, I’d love to do it.”

In an interview with Monday Night Football in the USA, Tyson also indicated to interviewer Jim Gray that he would consider a major title fight.

He said: “Man, that would be a novelty. Me using my skills, matching my skills now against the best heavyweights in the world, that would be mind-boggling.”
Jones is 51 so the pair take 105 years between them in the ring for their match-up.
However, age is but a number to the Baddest Man on the Planet.
He said: “‘Old guys’ – that word don’t even make sense. ‘Old’. It’s just a new time, a new thinking period in our lives.
“This is what we want to do. Sometimes the gods of war, they revive you and say, ‘You have to do more’.
“Now I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t prepare for this. I box people to see if I’m able do this stuff, so I can do this stuff.”
Tyson has lost nearly five stone as he gets into prime condition to fight Jones.
Iron Mike, who operates a cannabis farm in California, last fought professionally in 2005.
He also held exhibition matches in 2006 in an ill-fated comeback.
But he has revealed he plans three more fights after dispatching Jones this month.

Canelo Alvarez’s manager Eddy Reynoso claims Mexican is a free agent after contract row with Golden Boy

CANELO ALVAREZ is a free agent after a dramatic falling out with Golden Boy promotions, his manager has claimed.
A statement released by Eddy Reynoso on Friday evening confirmed that the move will allow Canelo to “continue with his boxing career”.

The statement read: “In my role as a manager and coach of Canelo Alvarez, I allow myself to communicate to the boxing community and all our fans, that starting today, November 6, Canelo becomes a free agent.
“So we are ready to continue with his boxing career. All this time, we have been working very hard in the gym with a lot of responsibility and discipline, to be in great physical shape and ready to fight this year.
“And it will be [this year]! We will announce date, rival and place very soon, and we will return strong than ever to keep growing and showing that Mexican boxing is the best.”
The Mexican fell out with Golden Boy, founded by retired six-weight world champ Oscar De La Hoya, earlier in the year.

In September, he filed a lawsuit against the company and streaming service Dazn over an alleged non-payment of fight money.
The 30-year-old was three fights into an 11-fight contract with Golden Boy that was said to be worth a stunning £280million.
But Canelo claimed to be unhappy with the handling of the £27m fee he is owed per fight.
And he vowed to take the matter to court, specifically for breach of contract, intentional and negligent interference with a contract, fraud and breach of fiduciary duty.

In a statement given to The Athletic, Alvarez said: “I’m the pound-for-pound No1 in the world.
“I’m not scared of any opponent in the ring, and I’m not going to let failures of my broadcaster or promoters keep me out of the ring.
“I filed the lawsuit so I can get back to boxing and give my fans the show they deserve.”
Dazn are said to have agreed a deal with Golden Boy worth £30.9m for each of the middleweight king’s fights, which in turn paid for Alavarez’s fee.
But his supposed inability to fight a major opponent led to the streaming service reportedly offering just half the agreed amount.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the fighter had suggested he was willing to discuss a fresh offer “in good faith”.

According to the lawsuit, that alternative never arrived and Alvarez’s team claim to have freed themselves from that contract.
The September filing alleged: “Despite repeated promises that an alternative offer was imminent, Dazn failed to make a proposal to either Golden Boy Promotions or Alvarez for several months.
“When Golden Boy Promotions and Alvarez proposed opponents, Dazn refused to confirm that it was prepared to broadcast Alvarez’s September 2020 bout or that it would pay the contract license fee.”
Fans have not seen the four-weight world champ in the ring since November 2019.
Having conquered the light middleweight, super middleweight and middleweight divisions, he beat Sergey Kovalev to win the WBO light heavyweight belt.

We have been working very hard in the gym with a lot of responsibility and discipline, to be in great shape and ready to fight this year.
    Eddie Reynoso

Considered by many to be the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Alvarez appears to desire a fight in the remaining few weeks of 2020.
A super-middleweight clash with undefeated Brit Billy Joe Saunders in the summer did not come to fruition.
And welterweight star Errol Spence Jr told SunSport last month that a showdown with Canelo in front of 80,000 fans was very much on his mind.
