Mike Tyson, 54, is ‘scared’ of Evander Holyfield rematch after being offered stunning trilogy fight ‘multiple times’

MIKE TYSON has been accused of being ‘scared’ to rematch Evander Holyfield having been offered a trilogy fight ‘multiple times’.
Both the ex-heavyweight champions have come out of retirement to continue their already legendary careers.

Holyfield has offered a trilogy fight ‘multiple times’

Holyfield – who twice beat Iron Mike – is training again to return for an exhibition, but is yet to have a confirmed opponent.
Tyson, 54, on the other hand is facing Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an eight-round pay-per-view spectacle next weekend.
According to TMZ’s sources, the reformed Baddest Man on The Planet snubbed Holyfield, 58, to instead fight Jones.
They said: “It’s not even about the money at this point, I think Tyson is scared.

“We’ve offered multiple times and Tyson vs. Holyfield is the fight that should happen.”
Holyfield first beat Tyson in 1996, winning in round 11 in what was considered an upset.
They rematched a year later, in the infamous the ‘Bite Fight’.
Tyson was disqualified after biting Holyfield’s ear in round three.

In the years since, they have made up and formed a friendship, and Holyfield teased a trilogy online.
He posted a picture of him punching Tyson, along with the caption: “Who would like to see Holyfield vs Tyson 3?”
Iron Mike responded to the speculation about another fight with his great rival in an interview with Jim Gray.
Tyson said: “That’s always something that we can do if the people want it, if it’s pragmatic enough, I’d love to do it.”

Boxing’s biggest contracts revealed including Anthony Joshua’s stunning £100m package as Canelo ends £278m DAZN deal

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Tyson Fury are among boxing’s biggest earners thanks to their lucrative contracts.
Some of the sport’s top attractions have been given eye-watering guarantees when signing on the dotted line.

And these sums come BEFORE massive pay-per-view sales that would increase the fighters’ earnings even more.
Here SunSport takes a look at the biggest contracts in boxing history.
    Canelo Alvarez – £278m
The Mexican star signed sport’s most lucrative deal ever in 2018, when he penned an 11-fight DAZN agreement worth £278m ($365) spanning over five years.
But just three bouts and two years into the contract and Alvarez requested it be terminated as he split with DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions.

He still banked around £64.6m as a result of beating Rocky Fielding, Daniel Jacobs and Sergey Kovalev.
Canelo, 30, is now set to control his own career and return as a box office fighter, opposed to DAZN’s streaming platform.

    Floyd Mayweather – £150m
When Mayweather came out of prison in 2012, he signed an exclusive six-fight PPV deal with Showtime a year later worth £150m.
But the American legend ended up taking home £340m thanks to the box office success of his fights against Canelo and Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather, 43, retired after beating Andre Berto in 2015, but returned in 2017 to face UFC star Conor McGregor in a lucrative crossover event.
It was not included in his initial contract, meaning the £300m he banked after stopping McGregor in ten rounds means he earned about £640m while boxing on Showtime.

    Anthony Joshua – £100m
Joshua penned a new three-year contract with Matchroom Boxing in 2018, worth £100m, SunSport reported at the time.
Since then, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom signed a £760m deal with DAZN, who broadcast AJ’s fights Stateside.
Joshua landed himself a career high payday last December, after pocketing £66m after outpointing Andy Ruiz Jr in their Saudi Arabia rematch.
The 31-year-old’s net worth is now estimated to be around £90m, according to Sportekz.

    Mike Tyson – £90m
Promoter Don King claimed in 1990 that Tyson had a contract with Showtime that guaranteed him £90m ($120m).
His last fight on HBO was against Alex Stewart, before he had two wins against Donovan Ruddock as part of his fresh Showtime agreement.
But Tyson was jailed in 1992 after being convicted of rape and spent three years behind bars before returning to the ring in 1995.
Iron Mike, now 54, would re-sign with Showtime after his prison release, making around £215m more before retiring in 2005.

    Tyson Fury – £90m
In early 2019, Fury made the shock decision to postpone his rematch with Deontay Wilder to instead sign a deal with Top Rank and ESPN.
The contract was widely reported to be worth £80m as the Gypsy King had two tune up fights in the US before facing Wilder again.
He emphatically stopped the Bronze Bomber in seven rounds in a PPV which sold over 1 million buys in America and the UK combined.
Fury, 32, has two fights left on his current contract.

Mike Tyson reveals he used fake penis and baby’s urine to pass drugs tests in case his wife’s showed she was pregnant

MIKE TYSON has revealed he used a fake PENIS and his baby’s urine to pass drugs tests during his boxing career.
The 54-year-old, who is returning to the ring on November 28 in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr, has admitted taking cocaine and marijuana during his time in the sport.

Tyson said he used to use ‘his wife’s urine’ until fears it could show up she was pregnant made him switch to his child’s.
The former heavyweight champ was married to Robin Givens in February 1998, but they divorced a year later and had no children.
Iron Mike wed Monica Turner in April 1997, divorcing in January, 2003. They had two children together.
Tyson is now married to Lakiha ‘Kiki’ Spicer, tying the knot in 2009 and four years after he quit boxing, sharing two children also.

In his ‘Hotboxin’ podcast, Tyson admitted to using a ‘whizzinator’, which is a prosthetic penis with a tube that leads to a bag.
He said: “It was awesome, man, I put my baby’s urine in it.
“One time I was using my wife’s and my wife was like ‘Baby you better not hope that it comes back pregnant or something’.
“And I said ‘we ain’t going to use you any more, we’re going to use the kid’, because I got scared that the p*** might come back pregnant.”

Tyson revealed that he ‘had a brown one’ and that the people testing him ‘didn’t want to look’ – meaning he got away with the scam.
In his 2013 book ‘Undisputed Truth’, the ex-world champ details a cocaine addiction that began when he was 11.
Iron Mike, who recalls using drugs until shortly before a loss to Britain’s Danny Williams in 2004, admitted: “I was a full-blown cokehead.”
Tyson also says he was high on ‘blow’ and ‘pot’ for a 2000 fight against Lou Savarese, and, ‘had to use my whizzer, which was a fake penis where you put in someone’s clean urine to pass your drug test.’
That same year, Tyson tested positive for marijuana and was fined $200,000.

Tyson Fury given green light to fight Anthony Joshua as WBC confirm he can dodge mandatory to set up undisputed bout

TYSON FURY has been given the all-clear by the WBC to pursue an undisupted clash against Anthony Joshua.
The two Brits have apparently agreed to have two fights in 2021, with hopefully all the heavyweight belts on the line.

Tyson Fury is closing in on setting up a Battle of Britain against Anthony Joshua

Dear champ , your message is humbling , We are proud of youThe WBC was the first organization to rank you,A proud former WBC International champion .We welcome you to fight for the ultimate unification for the undisputed heavyweight championship. https://t.co/yunSrp8jq9
    — Mauricio Sulaiman (@wbcmoro) November 7, 2020

Joshua holds the WBO, WBA and IBF titles, while Fury is the WBC king.
On December 5 Fury is expected to have a homecoming fight at London’s Royal Albert Hall, but an opponent is still to be named and it’s not known whether his belt will be on the line.
The following weekend AJ will defend his world titles against Kubrat Pulev.
Provided both men get through these tests, it could set up the Battle of Britain for next year.

And WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has confirmed he wouldn’t push for Fury to fight their mandatory challenger, which will be the winner of the Dillian Whyte versus Alexander Povetkin rematch.
That was set for November 21, but has been postponed until January after Povetkin was hospitalised with coronavirus.
Joshua tweeted: “Fighting for the WBC title would be an honor. It’s a prestigious belt, it’s one that I’m keen on getting my hands on.”
Sulaiman replied: “Dear champ, your message is humbling. We are proud of you.

“The WBC was the first organization to rank you. A proud former WBC International champion.

“We welcome you to fight for the ultimate unification for the undisputed heavyweight championship.”
Fury is still ‘patiently waiting’ to learn his opponent next month as he steps up his training.
The Gypsy King looks braced to scrap European champ Agit Kabayel next month in what will be his first fight in England since his comeback bout in June 2018.
WBC champ Fury was initially due to take on Deontay Wilder in their trilogy but walked away once their rematch clause expired.

But the 32-year-old insists he will still fight on December 5 and has declared he’ll take on anybody brave enough to step inside the ring.
Despite Frank Warren’s 24 hour warning to Kabayel, no contracts have yet been signed.
And Fury was quick to remind the German that the clock was ticking.
Alongside a video of him in training, he tweeted: “Patiently waiting.”

Meet Florian Marku – The Albanian welterweight sensation with Premier League star fans and MMA power

FLORIAN MARKU is taking one of the biggest risks of British boxing’s behind-closed-doors age by fighting without his super-dedicated fans
Last year the 28-year-old Albania welterweight sold out London’s iconic 1200-seater York Hall single-handed and lured 800 fans to the O2 for a late-afternoon four-rounder, including two diehard foreign followers.

Through shared Balkan heritage, the decorated former MMA fighter had Liverpool ace Xherdan Shaqiri ringside that July night in Greenwich and is close pals with Arsenal star Granit Xhaka, the 6-0 ace even keeps fit alongside the Gunners and Switzerland midfielder.
Sadly none of Marku’s incredible support can be at the BT Sport studios on Tuesday night to see him fight Muma Mweemba on the Boxxer – formerly known as Ultimate Boxxer – show where he risks his growing reputation without a windfall of ticket sales.
Marku told SunSport: “For UK fans I am new but in Albania, Greece, Austria and all across Europe, I have a lot of fans because I have had over 100 kickboxing and MMA fights, won three world titles and went 10 years without losing.

Boxxer welterweight Florian Marku is a former MMA fighterCredit: Jamie McPhilimey – The Sun
“I sold around 800 tickets for the O2 show in July 2019, but I only really know 20 of them who are friends and family. The rest are fans I have probably never met, I even had two guys fly in from Australia.

“Xherdan Shaqiri is a friend of mine, he was one of the people the O2 for my fight. Granit Xhaka and Shkrodan Mustafi are also friends of mine because, the great thing about us Albanians is, we stay in contact with each other all over the world.

Xhaka and Shaqiri both play football for Switzerland, after their parents fled their war-torn the region for a safety there a decade ago, much like Marku’s.
The three enjoy a strong bond that Marku says it typical for the rebuilding nation and he won’t even betray any training secrets about gym-buddy Xhaka.
He said: “Granit trains with the same strength and conditioning coach as me.

“I can’t say who is strongest, I don’t want to say, we are friends and he is a very good guy!
“I am not really a football fan, I only go and watch their matches when they invite me.
“A lot of Albanians have come here and have been unable to go home, so when they see someone from their country they want to really support the guy.
“In Albania and Kosovo we had very bad wars and everything was a real mess, things have been quiet for the last 10 years but we are still poor counties.
“Things are getting better all the time but we still produce very tough men because of what our parents and grandparents have been through.”

SunSport spoke to Florian Marku at his Bushey gym about his incredible supportCredit: Jamie McPhilimey – The Sun
Marku moved to Greece aged four, when the Albanian government collapsed and his father was sick of seeing abandoned guns readily available on the streets.
There he started his fight career before clinching multiple titles, the WKU kickboxing gold his favourite title, and then going on the road for fights in Austria before reaching the UK and turning pro as a boxer last year.
After packing out the iconic Bethnal Green venue, Frank Warren snapped him up for the undercard of Daniel Dubois’ brilliant British heavyweight title win over Nathan Gorman, and he stopped Tommy Broadbent in the final round.
Boxxer spotted his potential and this week will be his third fight for the rebranded and growing British promotion that Marku wants to become the star of.

He said: “I do not want to fight journeymen, if I am good then I will prove it and if I am not I will go home and do something else.
“Luan Krasniqi has been Albanian’s greatest ever boxing so far, he boxed Lamont Brewster, who beat Wladimir Klitschko and beat England’s Julius Francis.
“But we have never had a world champion. I believe that will be me. Boxxer is on television and I believe it will help me on my way to achieve my dream.”
