Tyson Fury denies putting a ‘gypsy spell’ on Deontay Wilder but claimed he shook rival’s ‘self-confidence’ pre-fight

TYSON FURY has hit back at Deontay Wilder’s claims he put a ‘gyspy spell’ on the American in the first of their two blockbuster fights.
Wilder was stunned at how the Gypsy King defied two knockdowns in a thrilling draw, before the Brit dethroned him in a one-sided rematch.

Unbeaten world heavyweight champ Fury scoffed at suggestions he used magic in the opening bout – but believes he ‘shook’ Wilder’s self-confidence with his prediction of a second-round KO.
In his new book The Furious Method, Fury speaks out on the December 2018 draw where many thought he deserved to win.
The 32-year-old said: “When Joe Rogan interviewed Wilder on his podcast after our first fight, Wilder said he thought I’d put some kind of gypsy spell on him.

“As far as I know, I don’t possess much in the way of spells, though my Irish grandmother was a fortune teller.

“What’s clear is that I had got into his head and shook his self-confidence by repeatedly telling him I was going to drop him in the second round.
“I planted that seed in his mind and uttered it so frequently in the run-up to the fight he got spooked and started believing it himself.”

Wilder has also come up with bizarre excuses for his seven-round humiliation in the second fight with Fury.
Top of the loopy list are a heavy ring-walk outfit, an egg-shaped object allegedly in Fury’s gloves and spiked drinking water.

But Wilder’s new theory over the opening bout KO’s even his ridiculous re-match reasoning.

Tony Bellew says Callum Smith has ‘every opportunity’ to knock out Canelo Alvarez, who will have ‘shock of his life’

TONY BELLEW thinks Callum Smith has ‘every opportunity’ to knock out Canelo Alvarez.
And the former WBC cruiserweight champion believes Canelo will have the ‘shock of his life’ when he feels the size of 6ft 3in Smith.

The Mexican icon is in talks with the WBA super-middleweight champion for a potential headliner in December.
And Bellew tipped his fellow Liverpudlian Smith, 30, to have the best chance of dethroning the pound-for-pound star.
He told IFL TV: “It’s a brilliant fight. If anyone is going to do Canelo, it’s going to be Callum Smith.
“I think Callum Smith has every opportunity to knock Canelo out, I really do.

“Canelo will have the shock of his life when he feels the strength of Callum Smith up close.”
Alvarez has not fought since moving up to light-heavyweight in November last year to KO Sergey Kovalev for the WBO belt he later vacated.
But the frustrated fighter has spent this year on the sidelines having failed to find an opponent due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And streaming service DAZN – who Canelo signed a £278 deal with in 2018 – would not approve proposed fights put forward by the 30-year-old.

Here’s how the two fighters compare ahead of the potential showdown

As a result, he terminated his partnership with the platform and Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.
As a free agent, Canelo is searching for an opponent and Smith – unbeaten in 27 fights – appears the frontrunner.
His promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports: “I’m getting messages saying: ‘I hear it is imminent!’ It is close.
“We are approaching a period where everyone wants to fight before the end of the year and we are running out of weeks.
“Ultimately Canelo is the boss. He is running the show. For Smith? This is the golden chance. But the deal must the right and the prep must be right.
“If we reach a point where he is happy with a deal, we’ve got a fight. But we’re not there yet.
“It is the opportunity of a lifetime for Smith and it’s what we always looked for.
“We didn’t expect it to come in these circumstances but if it presents itself he will grab it with both hands.”

Unbeaten superstar Crawford, 33, puts his WBO welterweight title on the line in the blockbuster bout over in Las Vegas, and unlike the majority of Brook’s previous fights, this time it WON’T be broadcast on Sky Sports.

How the fighters compare ahead of the huge bout

Sheffield ace Brook is no longer with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom stable which have a deal with Sky Sports. He is now signed with Bob Arum’s Top Rank.

Kell Brook has won his last three fights since losing against Errol Spence Jr

The big rematch between WBA super flyweight world champion Joshua Franco and former world champion Andrew Moloney heads up the undercard.
Terence Crawford vs Kell Brook (WBO welterweight title)
Joshua Franco vs Andrew Moloney (WBA super-flyweight title)
    Tyler Howard v KeAndrae Leatherwood
Joshua Greer Jr v Edwin Rodriguez
    Raymond Muratalla v Luis Porozo
    Duke Ragan v Sebastian Gutierrez
Vegas Larfield v Juan Alberto Flores
Why is Brook not fighting on Sky?
Brook boxed on Sky for most of his career, and even though he has now signed for Arum, he recently revealed his disappointment Hearn failed to get a deal done for it to be shown on Sky.
The 34-year-old had said: “I’ve always been a Sky Sports fighter, been in with Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Golovkin. I’ve made some amazing nights with Sky Sports.

“The fans, I wanna give back to people that subscribe to Sky Sports, I want my fans to see me fight the pound-for-pound king in Crawford.

“But it’s not come off the way I wanted it to come off so I’m absolutely gutted.”
He also claimed he got Hearn ‘out of jail’ by fighting Triple G in 2016 as the promoter was ‘more interested’ in signing copies of his soon-to-be released book.
However, Hearn has come out swinging in an interview with iFL TV, saying: “I was really disappointed to be honest with you, and I was quite angry.
“I will say this because I do feel like 99 per cent of what was said was total b****cks. I do feel like I should give you the truth.

Terence Crawford defends his WBO welterweight belt against Kell Brook on November 14
“Let’s just start with the Crawford fight and Sky situation – When Amir Khan boxed Terence Crawford, Kell Brook flew out there and he was talking to Top Rank.
“He had meetings with Top Rank probably about that fight and probably about other fights as well which didn’t go down very well with me to be honest with you. I’m an all or nothing kind of guy.
“I was never involved with one conversation they had with Top Rank regarding this fight, no consultation, no opinion from me, no part of the negotiations of the deal whatsoever.
“They chose to do this to all them. Was that because they didn’t wanna pay me? Or they wanted to go their separate way?
“Once you turn your back on me, don’t ever turn round and start walking back to me. You’re either with me or you’re not.” More

Terence Crawford mocks Kell Brook’s double broken eye sockets as he tells rival ‘both your eyes are messed up’

TERENCE CRAWFORD mocked Kell Brook’s double broken sockets as he told his rival: ‘Both your eyes are messed up’.

And after they both weighed in, the fighters sat down for an interview with ESPN in separate rooms.
As Crawford was asked if Brook could be his toughest fight, the Brit was adamant he would be.
He said: “You can see in my eyes that this is gonna be your toughest fight.”
But Crawford, 33, responded: “Your eyes? Both of your eyes are messed up, how am I gonna see it in your eyes?”

Brook, 34, suffered broken eye sockets in two consecutive fights as he challenged Gennady Golovkin and then Errol Spence Jr.
When he jumped up to middleweight in 2016 to face then-unbeaten unified champ GGG, the Sheffield favourite was stopped in round five.
Brook was left unable to see out of his left eye due to the damage taken, forcing trainer Dominic Ingle to finish the fight
Later, he went under the knife to get a titanium plate put in place.

Brook returned a year later to defend his IBF title against unbeaten American Spence.
But after a competitive 11 rounds, he was eventually stopped, again suffering a battered eye.
This time it was his left, as his orbital bone was broken and similarly needed surgery.
In the lead up to his fight with Crawford, Brook predicted he could make the pound-for-pound star quit on his stool.
But the American would again remark his opponent’s prior two losses.
Crawford said: “He gonna have to – you know what I mean – live up to his words.
“You know, I’m not the one that ever quit in a fight. You know, I can’t say the same for him, though.” More

Terence Crawford open to crossover fight with Conor McGregor as ‘money talks’ and UFC star ‘not a real good wrestler’

TERENCE CRAWFORD admitted he would face Conor McGregor as ‘money talks’ and said the UFC star is ‘not a real good wrestler’.
Crawford, who defends his WBO welterweight title against Kell Brook, was subject to talks with McGregor earlier this year.

His promoter Bob Arum wanted to speak with UFC boss about a pair of crossover fights, one in the boxing ring and the other inside the octagon.
But Crawford, 33, who wrestled during high school, would be willing to make the move over to MMA to challenge McGregor, 32, if the cash was right.
He told TMZ Sports: “They put that money up, hell yeah I’ll go over there and fight him.
“Conor is a big talent in the Octagon, and I’m a big talent in the boxing ring. Money talks.

“To keep it real, Conor’s not a real good wrestler. He may kick the s*** out of you.
“You gotta worry about them kicks to the head and them elbows more than him grabbing you.
“It’d be other things that you’d be having to worry about other than wrestling you.”
Crawford had never before shown an interest in switching to the UFC before Arum announced plans to negotiate a deal with White.

Despite the idea, the promoters appeared to have never discussed the two-fight proposal.
White did help promote McGregor’s lucrative boxing debut in 2017 which he lost in ten rounds against Floyd Mayweather.
White himself is still in talks with 43-year-old Mayweather, who is contemplating a comeback.
McGregor’s also appears to have a future in the boxing business having revealed talks to fight Manny Pacquaio, 41.
For now, he is instead plotting a return to the UFC to rematch Dustin Poirier – who he beat in 2014 – with the duo offered a headliner in January.
Afterwards, McGregor wants to fight Pacquaio, and will use his bout against southpaw Poirier, 31, to prepare for left-hander PacMan.

Brook: “I’ve had the bone broken in an eye and not been able to see.
“That’s his opinion. Let’s see if he can make me quit. Let’s see if he can break me, because, you know, I’m willing to die in that ring.
“I’m telling you now, this is sh— or bust for me. Everything’s gone into this fight — everything. It’s not a joke. This is a serious game.”

MIKE TYSON ripped off his shirt to reveal his rippling muscles during an interview with NFL star Russell Wilson.
Iron Mike, 54, whipped off his top and flexed his guns during a chat with Seattle Seahawks quarter-back Wilson to prove he was ready for his highly anticipated boxing comeback.

Iron Mike flashed a beaming smile as he was in confident mood

NRL star Russell Wilson had a chat with Tyson ahead of his comeback fight

Tyson will face Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an eight-round exhibition bout next weekend.
The Baddest Man on the Planet’s first fight in 15 years will be a bumper pay-per-view spectacle at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
But the scrap will NOT be for the WBC Front Line Battle Belt.
And Tyson was talking about dusting off his gloves with Wilson on his YouTube series ‘Danger Talk’.

Wilson asked Tyson: “So, tell me about these next two weeks, you ready to roll? You fired up? You gonna look like old Mike Tyson”
To which the fighting legend replied ‘Yeah man’ while tensing his bulging biceps.
Tyson added: “Look at this! Come on, man. Look at this. Come on, brother.
“I’m The Rock, I’m the Hulkster baby! I’m beautiful baby!”

But Tyson’s old rival Evander Holyfield has claimed he will gas out in his fight with Jones Jr.
Holyfield, 54, is back in training himself and fears that Tyson will NEVER grant him a trilogy fight after he twice beat him in the 1990s.
Tyson’s comeback has been slammed as ‘sad’ by Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren who claimed the veteran fighters were ‘doing it for the money’.

Watch Bare Knuckle fight end in brutal KO in just THREE SECONDS with opening bell still echoing as Diaz downs Benedetto

ULYSSES DIAZ pulled off one of the quickest knockouts ever when downing his opponent in THREE SECONDS.
Donelei Benedetto was the Cuban’s unfortunate opponent in Friday night’s Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship event.

The bell had barely finished ringing when Diaz launched at his rival.
A quick left-hander brought down Benedetto’s defence, leaving him open for a crunching right hook.
The punch caught him square in the cheekbone and its brutal effects were laid bare in stunning slow motion footage released by BKFC.
Diaz was fighting on the undercard of former Bellator star Luis Palomino, who downed ex-UFC man Jim Alers.

The 39-year-old has admitted to getting in brawls aplenty during a two-year stint in prison.
More recently he has put together a pro career spanning MMA, boxing, Jiu-Jitsu and bare knuckle.
In 13 boxing contests before moving to BKFC, he claimed 11 of his 12 victories via knockout.
And fans were wowed by Diaz’s agility and strength in this latest triumph.
