Dave Allen releases moment Oleksandr Usyk left him ‘knocked out’ after left hand in sparring before Derek Chisora fight

DAVE ALLEN released the moment Oleksandr Usyk left him “knocked out” after a left hand in sparring.
The British heavyweight – who announced his retirement from boxing aged 28 – helped Usyk prepare to fight Derek Chisora.

Dave Allen released the moment Oleksandr Usyk left him ‘knocked out’ after a left hand in sparring

Allen was caught with a left hook as he had his hands down

But Allen revealed on his Instagram story that he was left ‘unconscious’ while sharing the ring with the former cruiserweight king.
He then released the actual footage of the punch, which did not leave him floored, but “for all intents and purposes” KO’d.
Allen captioned the post: “Here is the spar with me and Usyk, was the last spar and if you can hear at around the 5 second mark I do a very loud snore.
“This is my last idea of what happened for the next 30 minutes but I didn’t go down and I finished the round but for all intents and purposes I’m knocked out from the second the left lands.”

In the clip, Allen walks towards Usyk with his hands down and was made to pay as a left hook landed right on his chin.
He then stumbles back and eventually walks forwards where Usyk appeared to hold him up and check if the the Englishman was OK.
Allen continues on but classy Usyk refrained from throwing a punch until the round was over.
The Doncaster fan-favourite retired with an 18–5–2 record with his biggest win against former WBA ‘Regular’ champion Lucas Browne.

Allen (right) helped Usyk prepare to fight Derek Chisora

But he admitted the sparring session with Usyk – who beat Chisora on points – was the ‘last straw’ in his decision to retire.
He said: “To be honest, when I sparred Usyk he knocked me unconscious.
“I never went over, I finished the round. But I can remember him hitting me.
“The rest of the round – next thing I knew I was stood outside the ring, packing my bag.
“I was concussed, so that was the last straw. I’m not an idiot so I know when it’s time to finish.
“Yeah, a lot of money could’ve been made, but at what cost? Being embarrassed. Being hurt is one thing, but being embarrassed is another.”

Tyson Fury comeback next month looks to be OFF as WBC champion announces ‘Gypsy King is returning in 2021’

TYSON FURY’S comeback next month looks to be OFF as the WBC champion announced: ‘Gypsy King is returning in 2021’.
Fury was in line to make his homecoming on December 5 having walked away from his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King is returning in 2021. Only those that have supported me 100% since my comeback will be with me for the glory.
    — TYSON FURY (@Tyson_Fury) November 15, 2020

But it appears his return to the ring will be pushed back into the New Year.
Fury, 32, tweeted: “The Gypsy King is returning in 2021.
“Only those that have supported me 100% since my comeback will be with me for the glory.”
Fury cancelled a third fight with Wilder after their immediate rematch clause expired last month.

But in a desperate attempt to salvage his crack at redemption, Wilder initiated a mediation with a retired judge set to review his case.
Promoter Frank Warren said the outcome of the dispute should be resolved by next week which looks to have caused a delay in Fury’s next fight.
Fury, 32, convincingly dethroned Wilder, 35, of the WBC title in February, having first drawn with each other in 2018.
They were contracted to a rematch straight after as part of the deal they initially signed.

But as the coronavirus pandemic kept fans away, it did the same for Wilder’s shot at revenge.
As a result, once the stipulation expired, Fury moved on from the trilogy to instead focus on facing Anthony Joshua, 31, twice next year.
He was in line to fight on December 5, with Agit Kabayel, 28, his chosen opponent as a tune up bout.
But the matchup remains up in the air following Fury’s latest announcement on Twitter.
If Wilder is successful in his case, he could force through a crack at redemption.
Warren posted: “The world’s best heavyweight, The Gypsy King @Tyson_Fury will return to action in 2021.
“Date and venue to be announced.”

Tyson Fury’s undisputed clash against Anthony Joshua to take place in May or June, confirms Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn

EDDIE HEARN has confirmed talks are underway over an undisputed title fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury next year.
Between them, Joshua and Fury hold all four heavyweight belts and earlier this year agreed to an even share of the purse to finally meet in the ring in 2021.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could meet in May or June of next year

Matchroom Boxing boss Hearn has hinted that while a date for the unification fight is close to being agreed, the two Brits’ showdown may be held outside of the UK.
Hearn wrote in a column for The Sunday Times: “Everyone wants to see Joshua fight Tyson Fury for the undisputed heavyweight title.
“We are looking at May, June [2021].
“Where will it be? The main problem is lots of countries have substantial budgets from their governments to bring in major sports events. We don’t.

“Ultimately, if you sit down with a fighter and say there’s £30million in England or £60m in the Middle East, it’s a very short conversation.”
However, before Joshua and Fury can turn their attention to an undisputed title fight, both have title defences to contend with.
After walking away from a trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, Fury will reportedly defend his WBC crown against Agit Kabayel on December 5.
Joshua meanwhile, will defend his belts against Kubrat Pulev a week later.

Hearn discussed Joshua’s preparation for Pulev, as well as Fury’s dispute with Wilder during a chat with Sky Sports last week.
Hearn said: “We try and avoid the mess, and keep discipline and focus on what we’re doing.
“The path for AJ has always been clear, with the ups and downs of the Ruiz fight, and getting that rematch over the line.
“But we know what we’re doing. December 12, it was announced probably eight weeks before the fight, we’re focused on the victory.
“That’s their [Fury and Wilder’s] business, it’s a right mess either way, and it’s not going to resolve itself any time soon.
“Hopefully we can just make sure that if Anthony Joshua can beat Kubrat Pulev on December 12, then the path is clear for AJ against Fury in 2021.”

Floyd Mayweather bought sparring partner Ashley Theophane a brand new car just because Brit did so ‘well in the ring’

FLOYD MAYWEATHER bought sparring partner Ashley Theophane a brand new car – just because the Brit did so “well in the ring”.
Theophane was signed by the American legend’s Mayweather Promotions stable in 2013.

Theophane pictured with Mayweather this year

But he also acted as a sparring partner during his time training alongside the now-retired 43-year-old in Las Vegas.
And Theophane revealed such was Mayweather’s generosity, he gifted the Londoner a car having impressed during their sessions together.
Many of those spars would have several onlookers ready to fill the gym up with animosity and heckling.
Theophane, 40, told Sky Sports: “I’ve been in the ring with Floyd and the guys do the same thing to me.

“They make ooohs and aaaahs when someone is getting beaten up but, if someone goes down, there is real concern.
“Some guys go into their shell and it goes badly for them, but I embraced it. I did well in the ring with Floyd so he bought me a new car.”
Theophane explained in a 2019 interview with SunSport that Mayweather purchased him a Chrysler 300 with personalised number plate.
He also said the former pay-per-view king – with an estimated £500million net worth – would even pay rent for his friends if they were short of funds.

Mayweather sparred Theopane in his Las Vegas gym

But inside the gym, he was ruthless and would even knock out sparring partners as his brutal training regime was revealed.
Theophane said: “He has KO’d a lot of guys. Many times when Floyd fought I thought he would win by KO because he was so ferocious in the gym.
“In the Robert Guerrero fight, I predicted Floyd to win by KO because he was a beast in the gym.
“The first time we sparred, I didn’t want to go in the ring with him. I had already seen him KO these guys.
“I was new to the team. I didn’t want to get in the ring, get KO’d badly, then [be kicked off] the team.”

Teofimo Lopez tells rivals they have to ‘beat somebody that is not a tomato can’ to join him on pound-for-pound list

TEOFIMO LOPEZ has told his lightweight rivals that they have to “beat somebody that is not a tomato can” to join him as one of the best boxers on the planet.

Suddenly everybody’s P4P list – where skills and attributes are measured with weights out the window – had to be rewritten.
The now-unified lightweight world champion – who is number seven on SunSport’s own rankings – has since called out American rival Devin Haney.
While Floyd Mayweather recently stirred the pot by claiming Gervonta Davis is best fighter after he knocked out Leo Santa Cruz last month.
Lopez, however, is in no doubt that he deserves to be on the P4P list as he warned his rivals to step up if they are to challenge him.

For anyone that’s trying to be in the pound-for-pound list alongside me, you have to beat somebody that is not a cab driver
    Teofimo Lopez

He told talkSPORT Fight Night’s Adam Catterall: “It’s amazing. I believe top five is where I belong.
“One thing I don’t like is that it’s me and Loma next to each other. I’m like, ‘Ugh, nah, kick him out.’
“In reality though, it’s crazy just to see your name on there. To see that out of many, many fighters in the world, and you’re in the top five.
“It goes to show me that we’re doing something big. I’m very happy and I’m very appreciative of those who have acknowledged me for all the hard work and all the stuff that we have done.

“For anyone that’s trying to be in the pound-for-pound list alongside me, you have to beat somebody that is not a cab driver, that is not a tomato can and that actually has a pulse.
“As regards to ‘Tank’ Davis, to Devin Haney, to Ryan Garcia, to all the other fighters out there.
“Because I know they’re trying to squeeze some of these other guys into the pound-for-pound list now that I’m on. But nah, not yet.”

It was the third defeat of Brook’s career after previous stoppages against Errol Spence and Gennady Golovkin.
Despite suffering broken eye sockets in BOTH previous losses, Brook said the manner of his latest failure in Las Vegas was unique.

After the fight, the Sheffield star said: “Never in my career, nobody has ever done that to me in sparring or anything.
“It was one of them… I got caught with a shot I didn’t see.
“I’m gutted because nobody could’ve gotten me in better condition. I was bang on the limit.
“Maybe I could’ve been a bit more relaxed and loose and let the shots go.”

Crawford returned from a year out of the ring in some style – retaining his WBO welterweight title.
It was Brook’s first fight at welterweight since 2017 and ultimately he came up short.
After his 37th career win, Crawford said: “I was trying to gauge the distance. He had good distance.
“I was trying to find my rhythm in between getting my distance together. That’s why it was so competitive at first. I couldn’t get my shots off.
“Kell is a tremendous talent. He came and he tried to take my title. He was in shape.
“He made the weight. There were no excuses to be put on the table. He came off of three wins.
“He lost to the better man.”

Last month, the 28-year-old’s planned fight with Christian Hammer was postponed due to the Romanian testing positive for coronavirus.
American fighter Christopher Lovejoy was eyed for the event, on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk’s win over Dereck Chisora.
But a contract issue meant the fight was cancelled at the last minute.
And, on Sunday, Allen announced his decision to retire from boxing.

He wrote on Instagram: “Hello everyone, I hoped I would never have to write this message, never mind at 28 with my last fight being when I was 27 years old.
“But I made the decision a few nights ago with my sister that I would no longer from that moment on be a professional fighter, boxing has given me a life I could never of dreamed of.

All I want now is a nice quiet life with a wife and some kids, healthy and happy getting nice and fat.
    Dave Allen

“I had never been out of Doncaster but for school trips till I started boxing and it’s taken me round the world from New York City to working men’s club all around the UK, as well as seeing the world.
“It has taken me from the kid brought up in a council house with yellow doors wearing Umbro to a man who still wears Umbro but owns a few houses and who has given myself a chance to give my future kids a life I could only have dreamed of.

“On top of and more importantly I have made the greatest friends, some of them being my childhood heroes, the list of thanks would be far to long but I hope everyone knows who they are and know they are appreciated.
“Lastly the reason for me calling it a day is simple, I don’t want to get punched anymore.
“Long gone are the days of the kid from Donny who just wants to fight, all I want now is a nice quiet life with a wife and some kids, healthy and happy getting nice and fat.”
Allen went unbeaten in his first ten professional fights before defeats to Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz.

A Commonwealth title fight with Lenroy Thomas in 2017 saw him suffer a third loss but a string of victories, including over New Zealander Lucas Browne, elevated him back up the rankings.
David Price inflicted the White Rhino a painful defeat in July 2019.
Allen was taken to hospital after the ten-round defeat and even hinted at retirement.
Earlier this year, he bounced back to cruise past journeyman Darch in what would be his final fight.
