Mike Tyson shows off hulking body transformation back in ring aged 54 as he counts down days until Roy Jones Jr fight

MIKE TYSON has once again shown off the results from his stunning body transformation as he prepares for his comeback fight with Roy Jones Jr.
The boxing legend, 54, looks to be in the shape of his life prior to climbing back between the ropes for the highly-anticipated exhibition bout on November 28.

The American legend has been working hard in the gym for months now after first teasing his comeback in May.
Fans were going wild as he shared footage of himself working out in various video clips and photos.
Now he has provided them with another glimpse of what they can expect by showing off his chiselled physique with a shirtless photo of himself complete with the wearing of his gloves and famous black shorts in the ring.
British boxing star Daniel Subois commented: “Legend in the game.”

Meanwhile Youtuber Jake Paul wrote: “BIGGEST FIGHT OF THE DECADE.”
Tyson, who ripped off his top to reveal his shredded arms and abs to interrupt in an interview with NFL quarterback Russell Wilson last week, retired in 2005 and claimed to have not trained since his last loss, against Kevin McBride 15 years ago.
And he now looks a completely different man from the one seen in 2018, after shedding the pounds and packing on the muscle after taking his return to the ring seriously.
The Baddest Man on the Planet, 54 opened up on his dramatic body transformation earlier this summer – revealing he has shed six stone.

Tyson told TMZ Sports: “At one time I was just 90lbs over weight I was doing cocaine, I was drinking and I said Allah if he can stop me from being this way, I’ll change my whole life.”
“And eventually, I got married, my life started to change, and I started working out.
“My brother in law said, ‘hey listen. I know you don’t want to fight, but would you fight Bob Sapp?
“Somebody wants to offer you a lot of money to fight him. I said, ‘get out of here, I told you I don’t want to fight anymore.”
“And then I thought about it in my mind and went ‘ding’ – I said I would fight [Sapp under the marquess of queensberry rules] and for some reason, it went from Bob Sapp to somebody else, and this guy, and the next thing you know, I’m fighting Roy Jones Jr.
“I don’t know how this happened. I’m just very grateful that I’m not living the life that I was living before. Allah has blessed for me to be able to do this.”

Watch Tyson Fury’s CEILING fall down as heavyweight champ smashes a heavy bag in training for Joshua or Wilder fight

TYSON FURY’S ceiling fell down as the heavyweight champion smashed a heavy bag in training.

Fury, 32, uploaded the video online, and captioned it: “This is what’s coming for everyone 2021 to infinity.”
The clip comes after the Gypsy King suffered bad news as his proposed UK homecoming on December 5 was cancelled.
He was due to fight in Britain for the first time since 2018 and had chosen 20-0 German Agit Kabayel, 28, as his opponent.
But promoter Frank Warren revealed they could not come to a financial agreement without the support of paying fans.

Fury had cancelled his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder, 35, after their immediate rematch clause expired last month.
But Wilder – who was dethroned of the title in February – responded by initiating a mediation to review his case.
With the dispute set to be resolved this week, Fury’s US matchmaker Bob Arum revealed his next opponent will either be Wilder or Anthony Joshua.
But that is dependant on Joshua, 31, beating Kubrat Pulev, 39, on December 12.

Arum told iFL TV: “I’ve given everyone the word. Wait until the Pulev-Joshua fight.
“If Pulev wins, there’s no Joshua because Eddie has a rematch with Pulev. So that takes care of a big part of next year for Joshua.
“And so that leaves Wilder as the best guy. So if Pulev beats Joshua, we’ll talk to Fury about doing the Wilder fight at the end of February.”
He continued: “By the end of February, hopefully, the pandemic will be under control, and we’ll at least be able to put the [Fury vs. Wilder III] fight in Allegiant Stadium [in Las Vegas, Nevada], and do it for 15,000, 20,000 people in a 75,000 seat stadium.
“It’s all well and good for Fury to say that he wants to fight Joshua, but who knows if Joshua is going to be around after he fights my guy Pulev.” More

Inside Canelo Alvarez’s humble gym in Guadalajara where he learned to box like his six brothers, close to childhood home

ON A RUNDOWN street in Guadalajara, Mexico, is a tiny gym that has become the stuff of legend in the world of boxing.
Five world champions have trained at the Julian Magdaleno Gym, including Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, the Mexican megastar who is rated by many the best fighter on the planet.

Inside, a couple of teenagers are dancing in front of a Canelo mural, punching furiously at the duck tape-covered heavy bags.
At the back of the gym is a creaky boxing ring.
Two sparring partners exchange blows under the framed shorts of local legends, including the purple pair Canelo wore as he battered brave British contender Mathew Hatton for the light-middleweight title in 2011.
Beneath the shorts is a sign with the gym’s motto, “The worst that can happen is you stop caring if you lose.”

Canelo, 30, is already a world away from this gym. He is the biggest draw in boxing.
With his clean-cut looks and good manners, Canelo fits the bill as boxing’s poster boy.
He recently has confirmed his next fight will be against Brit Callum Smith on December 19.
The Mexican superstar will return to the ring as a free agent having terminated his contract with DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions.

He was 11 years old and a kid of that age shouldn’t be able to punch like that. ‘God this is a great gift you’ve given us,’ I remember saying.
    Rigoberto Alvarez

But behind the squeaky-clean image is a very different story.
From punch-ups, legal problems and even a brother accused of murder, the red-haired fighter is no stranger to scandal.
Canelo’s rags-to-riches story — and the controversy that is part of it — is well-known in Mexico.

The youngest of seven brothers who all fought as professional boxers, Alvarez is nicknamed Canelo (cinnamon) because of his red hair.
As a youngster, the Mexican brawler learned to fight off teasing classmates.
“He was always bullied for being red-haired,” Canelo’s brother Gonzalo told SunSport.
“He used to lose control and get into fights.”
As a child Canelo worked with his family selling ice lollies in the tiny town of Juanacatlan, western Mexico.

“It was a tough upbringing. We were always working,” said Gonzalo. “He didn’t enjoy secondary school. He preferred fighting.”
Rigoberto, the eldest Alvarez brother, who also became world champion, gave Canelo his first pair of boxing gloves.
“I helped him and another kid, who was a bit bigger, put the gloves on. In that moment, I had no idea what I was about to see,” Rigoberto said.
“He was 11 years old and a kid of that age shouldn’t be able to punch like that.
” ‘God this is a great gift you’ve given us,’ I remember saying.”

It was not long before Canelo was ready to train at the Magdaleno, where he sparred with world champions.
Because of its reputation, business is still booming at the ramshackle gym, with 70 students stopping in daily.

For the town he should be a hero and a source of pride. But sometimes instead of support you, people want to knock you down. There’s a lot of jealousy.
    Gonzalo Alvarez

“Saul motivates us, we can all learn from him,” said trainer Jose Barrera.
“Lots of troubled children take up boxing and become much more disciplined… I had my vices too. I used to drink and take cocaine until I started coming here.”
Alvarez turned professional when he was only 15, because he ran out of suitable amateur opponents.
A year later, he had a daughter, which added more pressure to succeed.

His brutal style meant he was soon knocking out opponents much older than himself.
Canelo’s popularity soared in 2013, when he paid a visit to support hurricane victims on Mexico’s southern coast.
The boxing star spent the day talking to locals and stacking up sandbags.
But Gonzalo admits Canelo is not popular with everyone, including with some people in his hometown.
“For the town he should be a hero and a source of pride,” he said.
“But sometimes instead of support you, people want to knock you down. There’s a lot of jealousy.”
Canelo has also faced legal problems of his own.

Former bantamweight world champion Ulises ‘Archie’ Solis accused the bigger boxer of assaulting him and breaking his jaw in 2011.
Solis was out of the ring for more than a year, and a lengthy legal battle led to an out-of-court settlement.
As a result of the agreement, Solis cannot talk about the incident.
He said Canelo as a boxer was “a strong guy, with a lot of potential.”
Canelo has fully delivered on that potential, and his record currently stands at 53 wins, and one defeat, from his 56 fights.
A long way from the young tearaway learning his trade in a humble gym in Guadalajara.

Canelo Alvarez vs Callum Smith tale of the tape: How boxers compare ahead of world title fight in December

CANELO ALVAREZ has confirmed his next fight will be against Brit Callum Smith on December 19.
The Mexican superstar will return to the ring as a free agent having terminated his contract with DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions.

Canelo has spent this year on the sidelines in frustration, having failed to find an opponent due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And the counterpuncher terminated his partnership with DAZN – who he signed a £278 deal with in 2018 – after they rejected a number of his proposed fights.
As a result, he has not fought since moving up to light-heavyweight in November last year to KO Sergey Kovalev for the WBO belt he later vacated.
But Canelo, 30, has now confirmed he has chosen Liverpool brawler Smith, 30, for his highly-anticipated return.

Smith is defending his super-middleweight title, with his rival desperate to become a fully-fledged four-division champ, having only won the WBA’s ‘Regular’ title.
Here SunSport details how the duo compare.
    CANELO
Alvarez has cemented himself as a pound-for-pound superstar since his first world title win in 2011.
The Mexican can do it all, but shines with his combination punching and accuracy.

He is also one of the best body punchers currently and has lightening fast hands.
Since his only loss – against Floyd Mayweather in 2013 – Canelo has vastly improved his defence and head movement.
His common fault in fights comes through footwork, believed to be a slow mover as he instead opts to plant his feet and let shots fly.
Gennady Golovkin was able to answer Alvarez’s punch selection in their double header, as he too has less nimble movement.
But Canelo’s timing and power makes him a dangerous opponent to trade blows with and should you chose to box around him, he’s equally capable at walking down opponents – as Sergey Kovalev found out.

    SMITH
The WBA champion, at 6ft 3in, towers over almost anyone in the super-middleweight division, yet often fights on the inside.
For his stature, Smith is an incredible inside fighter and uses his size to outmuscle opponents in close.
He also has a potent lead left hook which he uses both as a single counter or to set up a right cross.
Despite having a height advantage, it proved to be his downfall against John Ryder last year.
Ryder excellently backed up Smith and landed shots over the top, something Canelo has proven capable of.
Smith is most effective on the front foot, closing his opponent down and sinking in heavy hooks or uppercuts.

    FIGHT OUTCOME
Canelo is entering the fight, as is the case with pretty much any of his others, as the favourite.
He proved against super-middleweight Rocky Fielding in 2018 that he can overcome a size disadvantage through lethal body shots and well timed hooks.
If Smith was to close the distance and Alvarez was able to land a combination and quickly get out of range, then he could frustrate the Brit.
Smith’s best hope is to walk down the Mexican, plant his feet and trade punches – the same remedy Golovkin used despite being unfortunate not to win either fight.
Canelo would be expected to outbox the Scouser at range through quicker hands and counter punching, meaning the fight would need to be taken to him.
But Smith would do so at a risk of being overwhelmed with combinations and the pinpoint accuracy of Alvarez.

Canelo Alvarez vs Callum Smith confirmed for December as Mexican star chooses Brit world champion

And he has chosen Liverpool brawler Smith, 30, for his return.
Canelo, 30, made the announcement on Instagram after telling fans he had big news to share on Tuesday evening in a teaser tweet.
He has not fought since moving up to light-heavyweight in November last year to KO Sergey Kovalev for the WBO belt he later vacated.
But former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew believes Smith has ‘every opportunity’ of causing a huge upset.

Bellew claims Canelo will have the ‘shock of his life when he feels the strength of Callum Smith up close’.
And the Merseysider’s promoter Eddie Hearn said: “It is the opportunity of a lifetime for Smith and it’s what we always looked for.”
Canelo has spent this year on the sidelines in frustration, having failed to find an opponent due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And streaming service DAZN – who Canelo had a £278million deal with in 2018 – would not approve proposed fights put forward by the iconic puncher.

As a result, he terminated his partnership with the platform and promoter Oscar De La Hoya.
Canelo, as a free agent, searched for an opponent and appeared to commit to super-middleweight, where he was mean to fight Billy Joe Saunders this summer.
Caleb Plant and John Ryder were also considered but Smith has secured the huge bout.
Ironically, Canelo will face Smith on DAZN in both the US and UK, with Hearn promoting the fight.

Floyd Mayweather will earn ‘millions for an exhibition’ just like Muhammad Ali did, as ex-sparring partner backs return

FLOYD MAYWEATHER will earn ‘millions for an exhibition’ just like Muhammad Ali – as his ex-sparring partner backed the comeback fight.
Mayweather announced he will return to the ring next February for another exhibition bout in Japan.

He made £7million there in 2018 for beating featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
And Ashley Theophane – who Mayweather promoted and trained alongside – was full of praise for the ring return, which is sure to be lucrative.
Theophane, 40, told SunSport: “Floyd loves the limelight.
“Making millions for an exhibition. I don’t really blame him. I think most people would do it if they could.

“Muhammad Ali did it many decades ago. So did Jack Johnson and Joe Louis.
“It’s always been going on. Now it’s popular again.”
Heavyweight icon Ali famously took on WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki in a farcical exhibition in 1976.
Inoki fought solely on the floor and battered Ali’s legs with kicks, as ‘The Greatest’ barely threw a punch.

Mayweather’s win over Nasukawa two years ago was far more conclusive, as he dropped the boxing debutant three times before the mismatch was over.
The 43-year-old will return to the Far East to feature on MMA event ‘Mega 2021’ held at the Tokyo Dome.
Mayweather said: “I just look forward to coming over there and entertaining the people.
“Tokyo is a great place and of course they’ve got so many great fighters in Tokyo as far as the MMA world and boxing world.
“I don’t know who you guys have got in store for me but I look forward to coming over and just having some fun and entertaining the people.”

SunSport exclusively revealed in July that Mayweather was in talks for a comeback fight in Japan.
But amid the coronavirus pandemic, he was unable to travel over.
Mayweather confirmed that in his press conference, adding he also planned to train in Tokyo.
The retired legend has spent the year training and coaching in his Las Vegas gym, fuelling speculation of a comeback fight.
