Badou Jack wants revenge on Jean Pascal and a cruiserweight belt after ‘taking care of business’ on Mike Tyson undercard

BADOU JACK wants revenge on Jean Pascal and a cruiserweight title – but will first ‘take care of business’ on Mike Tyson’s undercard.
The Swede was narrowly beaten by Canadian Pascal on a split decision last December.

Badou Jack was beaten by Jean Pascal on points last year

Jack pictured alongside Mike Tyson and Viddal Riley

His rematch was then cancelled amid the coronavirus pandemic, with the fight now looking set early in 2021.
But the delay has allowed him to feature on Tyson’s comeback bill next Saturday as he faces little-known Blake McKernan.
Jack told SunSport: “It’s a different event, usually I fight world class fighters, this guy isn’t a world class fighter.
“I respect anybody who gets in the ring but I’m gonna take care of business.

“This is dedicated to my charity and this is not a regular event, it’s different.”
Jack lost his WBA ‘Regular’ light-heavyweight belt after 12 rounds with Pascal, 38, in Atlanta, Georgia, last year.
His ultimate goal is to secure a rematch before moving up to cruiserweight, in the hopes of becoming a three-division champion.

He said: “I’ve been waiting for that rematch. Everybody saw I won that fight.

“It was pushed to like June and July and then October but around that time Pascal said he didn’t want to fight me and he wanted to get paid better or his regular purse.
“Now they’re saying the first quarter of 2021. That’s the main goal, take care of business and then on to Pascal.
“I’d like to move up to cruiserweight before I retire and get a title there.”
The 37-year-old – who will donate proceedings to his Badou Jack Foundation – was first approached to fight on Tyson’s undercard early in the summer.
But the pay-per-view spectacle was then moved back all the way to November, with Iron Mike, 54, boxing Roy Jones Jr, 51, over eight exhibition rounds.

Jack was initially in talks to fight former UFC star Tito Ortiz – who is 45 and retired last year.
But after he was told he must instead face a boxer, the Floyd Mayweather-promoted fighter agreed but only if he could box at a 190lb catchweight.
He fights American McKernan – and despite preferring to rematch Pascal, Jack is equally as happy to deal with the task in hand.
Jack said: “This is guy that talks a lot.
“I’m in great shape, I got a new trainer, Jonathan Banks, and we’re working on a lot of adjustments, throwing more punches etc.
“I’m going in there to hurt this guy.”

Badou Jack is dedicated to helping refugee children

Jack will donate proceedings of his next fight to his charity
As well as using the fight to help prepare for bigger and better things next year, Jack’s charity will also profit from PPV.
The foundation fights to give refugees and orphan children a better living by providing nutrition and donating goods.
The intrigue on Tyson’s comeback is ever growing, helped by the co-headliner of YouTuber Jake Paul fighting ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.
Jack explained: “I’d rather fight Pascal straight away, but he don’t want it, and this is a big event, especially for my charity.
“There will be a lot of eyeballs and not even boxing fans as they’ve got these YouTubers fighting on the undercard.
“So it’s a perfect chance to promote our foundation and give them ‘A fighting chance in life’ – that’s our slogan.”

MIKE TYSON has once again shown off the results from his stunning body transformation as he prepares for his comeback fight with Roy Jones Jr.

The American legend has been working hard in the gym for months now after first teasing his comeback in May.
Fans were going wild as he shared footage of himself working out in various video clips and photos.
Now he has provided them with another glimpse of what they can expect by showing off his chiselled physique with a shirtless photo of himself complete with the wearing of his gloves and famous black shorts in the ring.
British boxing star Daniel Subois commented: “Legend in the game.”

Meanwhile Youtuber Jake Paul wrote: “BIGGEST FIGHT OF THE DECADE.”
Tyson, who ripped off his top to reveal his shredded arms and abs to interrupt in an interview with NFL quarterback Russell Wilson last week, retired in 2005 and claimed to have not trained since his last loss, against Kevin McBride 15 years ago.
And he now looks a completely different man from the one seen in 2018, after shedding the pounds and packing on the muscle after taking his return to the ring seriously.
The Baddest Man on the Planet, 54 opened up on his dramatic body transformation earlier this summer – revealing he has shed six stone.

Tyson told TMZ Sports: “At one time I was just 90lbs over weight I was doing cocaine, I was drinking and I said Allah if he can stop me from being this way, I’ll change my whole life.”
“And eventually, I got married, my life started to change, and I started working out.
“My brother in law said, ‘hey listen. I know you don’t want to fight, but would you fight Bob Sapp?
“Somebody wants to offer you a lot of money to fight him. I said, ‘get out of here, I told you I don’t want to fight anymore.”
“And then I thought about it in my mind and went ‘ding’ – I said I would fight [Sapp under the marquess of queensberry rules] and for some reason, it went from Bob Sapp to somebody else, and this guy, and the next thing you know, I’m fighting Roy Jones Jr.
“I don’t know how this happened. I’m just very grateful that I’m not living the life that I was living before. Allah has blessed for me to be able to do this.”

Eddie Hearn will pay Terri Harper’s £4k bill for surgery on hand she broke retaining her WBC title

EDDIE HEARN paid Terri Harper’s £4,000 surgery on the broken hand she suffered retaining her WBC title.
Harper continued her unbeaten professional record on Saturday night with a ninth-round stoppage of Norwegian Katharina Thanderz.

The victory ensured another successful defence of her WBC super-featherweight world title.
But the win – on the Katie Taylor undercard – was even more impressive considering she snapped a bone in her right hand in the fourth round.
The clean break required surgery and a private medical bill of £4,080 for the surgery, surgeon fees and an anaesthetist fee.
But Matchroom chief Hearn stepped in to pay for it all as she did not have medical insurance.

Harper, 24, tweeted a screenshot of the invoice and wrote: “Put this post on earlier about me learning a lesson for not having insurance.
“To then receive a message off @EddieHearn that he’s covering my operation cost.
“I can’t thank Eddie enough for such a kind gesture, something that he didn’t have to do! So grateful.”
The Yorkshire boxing star also took to Instagram to share a screenshot of her conversation with Hearn.

Floyd Mayweather to earn ‘millions for an exhibition’ just like Muhammad Ali, as ex-sparring partner backs return

FLOYD MAYWEATHER will earn ‘millions for an exhibition’ just like Muhammad Ali – as his ex-sparring partner backed a comeback fight.
Mayweather announced he will return to the ring next February for another exhibition bout in Japan.

He made £7million there in 2018 for beating featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
And Ashley Theophane – who Mayweather promoted and trained alongside – was full of praise for the ring return, which is sure to be lucrative.
Theophane, 40, told SunSport: “Floyd loves the limelight.
“Making millions for an exhibition. I don’t really blame him. I think most people would do it if they could.

“Muhammad Ali did it many decades ago. So did Jack Johnson and Joe Louis.
“It’s always been going on. Now it’s popular again.”
Heavyweight icon Ali famously took on WWE Hall of Famer Antonio Inoki in a farcical exhibition in 1976.
Inoki fought solely on the floor and battered Ali’s legs with kicks, as ‘The Greatest’ barely threw a punch.

Mayweather’s win over Nasukawa two years ago was far more conclusive, as he dropped the boxing debutant three times before the mismatch was over.
The 43-year-old will return to the Far East to feature on MMA event ‘Mega 2021’ held at the Tokyo Dome.
Mayweather said: “I just look forward to coming over there and entertaining the people.
“Tokyo is a great place and of course they’ve got so many great fighters in Tokyo as far as the MMA world and boxing world.
“I don’t know who you guys have got in store for me but I look forward to coming over and just having some fun and entertaining the people.”

SunSport exclusively revealed in July that Mayweather was in talks for a comeback fight in Japan.
But amid the coronavirus pandemic, he was unable to travel over.
Mayweather confirmed that in his press conference, adding he also planned to train in Tokyo.
The retired legend has spent the year training and coaching in his Las Vegas gym, fuelling speculation of a comeback fight.

Lennox Lewis says he’d have beaten prime Mike Tyson as he’s a ‘five-dimensional fighter’ compared to Iron Mike’s ‘one’

LENNOX LEWIS insists he would have beaten Mike Tyson even in his prime because he is a ‘five-dimensional’ fighter.
Back in 2002 the two boxing legends finally faced off in the ring after an explosive build-up.

The Brit says Iron Mike was just a ‘one-dimensional’ fighterCredit: Getty

It was the most lucrative boxing match of all time, but the pre-fight antics threatened to steal the show and even stop it all-together.
In his new documentary, Lennox: The Untold Story, it re-lives how in what was supposed to be just the usual pre-fight face-off, all hell broke loose when Tyson marched towards Lewis and swung for his bodyguard.
Tyson was forced to pay Lewis around £260,000 for biting his leg, while the brawl almost saw the mega-fight cancelled all together.
Lewis would eventually have the last laugh with victory – but many claim the British icon was only taking on a well past his best Iron Mike.

However, during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Lewis is adamant he would still have had his hand raised if the pair had collided ten years earlier.
    He said: “Yes – I’m a five-dimensional fighter and he’s a one-dimensional fighter.”
Lewis added: “Mike Tyson is a great guy in one sense. I knew him when he was younger.
“I went up to spar with him after the junior world championship where I won a gold medal and his team were saying I didn’t box the best guy.

“Me and my trainer at the time, Arnie Beam, drove to Catskills and met him.
“He took me to his room, he was nice, we looked at lots of old films and he was more into boxing at the time that I was.
“He knew all the old guys and all the different techniques of boxing.
“So I grew to really like and know him when I was an amateur but then when he went into his pro career I never really knew why he was acting like that.
“Then we fought and he was just the same guy I met when we were 14 or 15.”

Lewis KOed Tyson in the eighth round when they fought in 2002Credit: AP:Associated Press
Las Vegas was due to host the grudge match 18 years ago but the Nevada State Athletic Commission decided not to re-license Tyson, who comes out of retirement later this month for an exhibition fight with Roy Jones Jr.
As a result, promoters were left scrambling to find an alternative to the fight capital of the world.
Memphis would eventually be selected as the pay-per-view was forced back by two months.
Tyson at the time had not lost since 1997, when he was disqualified for biting Evander Holyfield’s ear.
Lewis on the other hand was the unified heavyweight king and golden boy of the division.
And it would be he who retained that crown with an eight round knockout. More
