Frank Warren refuses to put Mike Tyson in all-time top 10 heavyweight fighters because he was ‘drugging it and boozing’

BOXING promoter Frank Warren has revealed he does not rank Mike Tyson in his top 10 heavyweights of all time.
Iron Mike, 54, is making a sensational return to the sport he ruled with fear in the late 1980s and 90s when he fights Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight on November 28.

Tyson won 50 of his 56 fights, bagging 44 KOs along the way.
But for Hall of Fame promoter Warren, the Baddest Man On The Planet’s indiscretions OUTSIDE the ring means he doesnt make his top 10.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Warren, 68, said: “Mike Tyson, when he was young and first got into boxing, he was exciting.
“A bit like Daniel Dubois in some ways, he sort of captured the public’s imagination in devastating style.

“He won a world title and everybody was talking about him. For me, he was one of the most exciting young heavyweights.
“However, he doesn’t get in my top ten because he just did not last the course.
“He was sodding around, drugging it and boozing, went to prison. He just didn’t do it for me.”
Tyson has admitted to taking cocaine and cannabis throughout his career, and in 1992 was found guilty of rape and sentenced to six years in prison, serving three.

The Brooklyn brawler became the youngest ever heavyweight champ when he KO’d Trevor Berbick in 1986.
But Warren believes there would be a clutch of fighters who would have been able to deal with Tyson’s raw aggression.
He added: “I don’t think he would’ve beaten Sonny Liston, I don’t think he’d have beaten [prime] Larry Holmes, I don’t think he’d have beaten [Muhammad] Ali.
“I don’t think he’d have beaten Joe Frazier and I certainly don’t think he’d have beaten George Foreman.”
Warren has had somewhat of a chequered relationship with Tyson over the years.
The Islington-born promoter revealed how a £2million jewellery bill led to Mike Tyson PUNCHING him in 2000.
The promoter encountered ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ at the height of his infamy, with an unpaid jewellery bill coming back to haunt the fighter.
And Warren has opened up on the ‘pandemonium’ that the ‘petulant’ Tyson caused when flooring him inside a Park Lane hotel over the incident.

Mike Tyson clash with Roy Jones Jr – who have combined age of 105 – to cost hefty £19.95 on BT Sport causing fan fury

MANY boxing fans are furious after it was announced it will cost £19.95 to watch the exhibition bout between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.
The two heavyweight legends face each other at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on November 28.

Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr will dust off the gloves to fight each other on November 28

It will be the first time Tyson has stepped back inside a ring since he was stopped by Kevin McBride in 2005.
The 54-year-old has shown off his incredible physique for the contest, while Jones Jr has shared clips of him displaying his iconic blistering hand speed.
Both men will walk away with a commemorative WBC belt following the fight which will be over eight two-minute rounds.
With a combined age of 105, boxing fans believe BT Sport are overcharging supporters to be able to watch their fight on pay-per-view.

This is despite two-weight world champion Badou Jack appearing on the undercard, as well as YouTube star Jake Paul when he takes on ex-NBA ace Nate Robinson.
Meanwhile rappers Lil Wayne, French Montana and Wiz Khalifa are just three musical artists that will be providing entertainment for the event.
However, fans took to social media to speak of their frustration, as one tweeted: “BT should be ashamed of themselves.”
Another commented: “£20 for a 20 minute spar and a s*** undercard, two of the greatest fighters ever but you’re mad if you’re paying that for an exhibition.”

A third added: “F*** me, whoever’s paying that needs their head examined.”
One then said: “Must be joking, it’s better off streaming the fight.”
Venting their fury, another raged: “F****** ridiculous yet I bet plenty of f****** idiots pay it.”
However there were some that spoke of their excitement at the encounter, as one tweeted: “Better fight than Joshua vs Pulev and it’s cheaper.”
Another commented: “Would pay a lot more to go out. And seen as I can’t do that at the mo, might as well buy this and still be quids in.”
A third messaged: “Shut up and take my money already.”

Tyson Fury gobsmacked by ‘shocking news’ that carrier bags have gone up from 5p to 50p as he launches fuming rant

TYSON FURY is raging – at having to pay 50p for a carrier bag.
The WBC heavyweight champion of the world uploaded a video to Twitter after having visited the supermarket.

Fury, who has recently abandoned plans for a comeback fight this side of Christmas, decided to share ‘a bit of shocking news for everybody’.
The 33-year-old explained: “I have just been into the supermarket to do a bit of grocery shopping.
“I got to the till only to be shocked and surprised that a plastic bag now to put your shopping in is 50p each.
“What an absolute liberty, that is liberty, it was only 5p recently when they decided they were going to put this price tag on carrier bags to go home with, 5p.

“Now I went to the till, it was 50p per bag, that is an absolutely liberty, joke. I’ve never heard anything like it.”
The law in England is that larger shops are to charge 5p for a plastic bag.
This is set to double to 10p in April.
However, shoppers have the choice to pay more money for a bag for life – and they can then return these for a swap when they are worn.

    CARRIER BAGS – GOVERNMENT RULES

    The government says that….

The law requires large shops in England to charge 5p for all single-use plastic carrier bags. Charging started on 5 October 2015.
We want to reduce the use of single-use plastic carrier bags, and the litter they can cause, by encouraging people to reuse bags.
Large businesses need to charge for single-use plastic carrier bags. This applies to retailers who have 250 or more employees.
As a shopper, you can avoid being charged by bringing your own bags. In some shops, you can buy thicker, reusable ‘bags for life’. Typically, you pay for these once, and can return them for a free replacement when they wear out.

This isn’t the only ‘video nasty’ the undefeated boxing legend has shared recently.
Fury’s ceiling fell down as the heavyweight champ smashed a heavy bag in training.
The WBC king showcased the full force of his heavy-hands with the roof unable to handle his punch power.
Fury is hoping to thrash out terms for a mouthwatering undisputed clash against fellow Brit Anthony Joshua next year.

Conor Benn aims to throw kitchen sink at Sebastian Formella after buying house in lockdown with pregnant partner

CONOR BENN will throw the new kitchen sink at Sebastian Formella on Saturday thanks to the new family force inspiring his career.
The 24-year-old welterweight has enjoyed a huge fanbase since his professional debut in 2016, thanks to his British boxing legend dad Nigel and his all-action style.

But the 16-0 ace is on the cusp of a breakout win that will take him well out of his two-weight champ’s shadow and he has pregnant wife Victoria to thank.
The Essex-based pair are expecting their first child at the start of 2021 and are busy nesting to get ready for the arrival.
And Benn is filled with pride and thanks for how his missus has not just coped with the strain but helped with his crucial camp
Ahead of the clash against the 22-1 German, Benn said: “I have just bought a house, we’re sorting out the decorating and just bought a kitchen, so it’s a busy time.

“I have a pregnant wife at home but I have had more mood swings than she has but thankfully she is a really strong woman.
“She’s craved all sorts of food but for the whole 12-week camp we have not had any of it in the house, she has put everything on hold for me.

“I’m really affectionate usually but, when I get a fight date, tunnel vision comes over me and my mood completely changes so I appreciate her so much for putting up with it all.”
Benn was launched into the deep as a 19-year-old boy with minimal amateur background and a mountain of inherited pressure.

But he has dealt with the aggro, quietly improved under trainer Tony Sims and survived in-ring scares and painful injuries.
And one of those testing times helped mould him into the man we see today.

“There was a period where I thought I was all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips,” he said.
“I was driving around in the summer with my top off and the music loud, spending my last bit of dough on designer shoes and clothes.
“But when I broke my jaw I looked in my wardrobe I realised ‘none of that gear is going to help me’.
“Now I save, I have almost become as careful as my old man, because I am building for my family now, making a life for my children next.”

Mike Tyson net worth 2020: How much money does boxing legend have, did he lose all of it and how does he earn cash now?

MIKE TYSON remains one of boxing’s all-time greats – and some would say the greatest.
Iron Mike will return to the ring on November 28 against Roy Jones Jr in a heavyweight exhibition bout.

What is Mike Tyson’s net worth?

Mike Tyson is estimated to have accrued over $300million throughout his boxing career, but ended up losing it all.
Forbes claim his total career earnings could even have been as high as $685million.
However, as of 2020 Tyson’s net worth is estimated to be just $3m, according to Wealthy Gorilla.
How did Mike Tyson lose his fortune?
Like many sporting superstars, Tyson spent his money as quickly as he earned it on big expensive houses, flashy cars and even pet tigers.

The 53-year-old has been divorced twice, now on his third marriage and has a total of eight children.
He also served three years in prison after being convicted of rape in 1992.
In 2003, Tyson was forced to file for bankruptcy, with media at the time reporting he had $23m worth of debt.

How did he recover his finances and how does he make money now?
Tyson has starred or held minor roles in a number of movies, most notably in The Hangover film franchise.

He even had his own animated TV show called Mike Tyson Mysteries.
More recently he produces a podcast called Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson which is one of the more popular combat sports-related podcasts out there.

Badou Jack pictured alongside Mike Tyson and Viddal Riley
Hinted in that title, Tyson has cannabis to thank for his financial recovery. He runs his own weed ranch called the Tyson Ranch, where he grows and sells his own brand of weed as well as weed-based wellness products.
Cheat Sheet say the Tyson Ranch sells over $500,000 worth of weed a month, but that Tyson smokes $40,000 worth with his guests. More

Anthony Joshua fight with Kubrat Pulev record £24.95 PPV price on Sky leaving fans fuming as Brit loses out on £8m gate

BOXING fans will have to shell out £24.95 if they want to watch Anthony Joshua defend his world titles against Kubrat Pulev.
The two heavyweights will clash at Wembley Arena on December 12 – albeit behind-closed-doors.

Anthony Joshua versus Kubrat Pulev will be on Sky Sports Box Office for £24.95Credit: Reuters

Some boxing fans compared the paying to other fights that were free

As a result of crowds not being allowed to watch the fight live, AJ is believed to be missing out on some £8MILLION.
The event will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office at a whopping £24.95, equalling the record price to watch AJ’s revenge against Andy Ruiz out in Saudi Arabia in December last year.
Back then, Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn defended that price, saying it was because it was ‘a one off fight where you may not ever see a fight like this again’.
He also insisted it was a decision taken by Sky Sports and not himself, as it is again this time.

AJ too has no say in how much him headlining should cost.
But just 13 days before Christmas, fight fans will have to dig deep to watch the British hero lay his belts on the line against Bulgarian veteran Pulev.
The undercard currently includes Tyson Fury’s cousin Hughie fighting Mariusz Wach and Lawrence Okolie’s world title shot against Krzysztof Glowacki.
But many boxing fans are less-than-impressed.

Nigel Hudson tweeted that it was ‘a robbery’, saying that Joshua will ‘stop Pulev inside six rounds’.

Another Twitter user wrote: “I’m not anti-PPV by any stretch, but £25 quid? For Kubrat Pulev?
“Americans have just had Brook-Crawford and Lopez-Loma for free man.”
Greg Decimus added that it was ‘a joke’ saying that it was designed to ‘make the rich filthy rich all whilst taking a chunk out of normal folks monthly budgets’.
And some were scathing of the undercard on offer, saying that those fights will ‘put you to sleep’ before the main event has even started.
However, many boxing fans did accept that the price is as high as it is as a result of coronavirus ending chances of a live crowd.
Joshua will be hoping to get the job done against Pulev to set him up to fight fellow Brit Tyson Fury in an undisputed clash next year.

MIKE TYSON has once again wowed fans from his stunning body transformation as he prepares for his comeback fight with Roy Jones Jr.

He gained weight after retiring back in 2005 with a record of 50–6

Tyson didn’t lace up the gloves for over a decade after quitting boxing

The American legend has been working hard in the gym for months now after first teasing his comeback in May.
Tyson hasn’t fought since 2005 and last tipped the scales at 16.6st when he walked away from the ring following his defeat to Kevin McBride.
Iron Mike then stopped training and ballooned up to over 21st after retiring, but credits exercise and changing up his diet for his weight-loss.
And an incredible video on social media detailing the boxer’s body transformation throughout the years that started with an image of ten-year-old Tyson until now.

Iron Mike himself recently showed off his chiselled physique on Instagram with a shirtless photo wearing his gloves back in the ring.
British boxing star Daniel Dubois commented: “Legend in the game.”
One fan said: “You’ve proved yourself king!”
Another replied: “You’re going to win champ!”

The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ revealed earlier this summer that he shed six stone to return to peak condition.

Tyson told TMZ Sports: “At one time I was just 90Ibs over weight. I was doing cocaine, I was drinking and I said Allah if he can stop me from being this way, I’ll change my whole life.
“My brother in law said ‘hey listen. I know you don’t want to fight, but would you fight, but would you fight Bob Sapp?
“I thought about it in my mind – I said I would fight (Sapp marquees of queensberry rules) and for some reason it went from Bob Sapp and the next thing you know I am fighting Roy Jones Jr.”
