Mike Tyson says becoming real life ‘Tiger King’ brought him regret and reveals owning THREE white tigers was a mistake

MIKE TYSON revealed his regret over owning three big tigers as pets admitting it was “foolish, they’d kill you”.
The white Bengal tigers – which reportedly cost £48,000 each – became an infamous part of Tyson’s character, with the American having three pet jungle cats.

But, now aged 54, the former ‘baddest man of the planet’ told American rapper Fat Joe that owning the pet cats was naive because of how dangerous they were.
As the two discussed the new Netflix documentary ‘Tiger King’, Tyson said on Instagram live: “I was foolish. There’s no way you can domesticate these cats 100 per cent.
“There’s no way that’s going to happen. They’ll kill you by accident, especially when you’re playing rough with them, you’re punching them back. They get hyped up, hit you back and you’re dead.
“I’m just happy I educated myself. I was doing the wrong s***. I shouldn’t have had them in my house, believing they were domesticated. I was wrong.”

In the same conversation, the boxing legend recalled how he once had to pay a trespasser £200,000 after one of his Bengal tigers “f***** up” her hand so badly.
Tyson said: “Somebody jumped over my fence where the tiger was and started playing with the tiger.
“The tiger didn’t know the lady so it was a bad accident. She jumped into the property where the tiger was.

I was foolish. There’s no way you can domesticate these cats 100 per cent… they’ll kill you by accident, especially when you’re playing rough with them, you’re punching them back. They get hyped up, hit you back and you’re dead.
Tyson on his regrets at owning pet tigers

“They tried to [sue] until they found out she jumped over the fence and she trespassed with the tiger.

“When I saw what the tiger did to her hand, I had a lot of money back then, so I gave her $250,000 (£200,000) whatever it was because she was just f***** up.”
Tyson decided to buy the outlandish pets after sparking up a conversation with a car dealer during his three-year prison sentence, for a 1992 sexual assault conviction.
He said on the Joe Rogan podcast: “So I’m in prison, I’m talking to my car dealer at the time.
“He has some cars that belong to a [mutual friend], and he’s discussing, ‘If he doesn’t pay for these cars, I’m going to sell these cars to somebody and get some horses.’
“I said, ‘What, you can get horses? And trade horses in for cars?’ Because I had a lot of cars, I’d probably get some horses too. And he said, ‘Yeah man, you can get cougars, lions, tigers.’

“I said, ‘You do? Can you get me some tigers?’
“The guy said, ‘Imagine how cool that would be?’ Because I had a bunch of fancy cars, ‘Imagine that man, you’d be in an Aston Martin or a Ferrari. You’d have a tiger right next to you, man. That’s be so awesome.’
“And I’m a young guy. I’m saying to myself, ‘Wow, that would be cool. Get me some cubs, man.’”

Logan Paul reveals split from girlfriend Josie Canseco but YouTube star admits he’s finding it tough to move on

YOUTUBE boxer Logan Paul has revealed the end of his relationship with girlfriend Josie Canseco.
The 24-year-old model, the daughter of baseball legend Jose Canseco, began dating the online sensation in April.

But Paul, 25, told his podcast: “It might come off a little odd, these exchanges I’m having with women who aren’t my girlfriend. Ex-girlfriend.
    “I mean, I didn’t really plan on – it’s hard.
“We’ve had the conversation, ‘How do you tell the world it’s over’.
“I’ve always really valued the privacy of my relationship because my life is already pretty public so I don’t feel like either Josie or myself needs to give an explanation if we don’t feel like it.”

Paul lost his first professional fight to KSI last year and has been winding up Floyd Mayweather in the hope of landing the former world champ.
The man known as ‘Money’ agreed to ‘put a muzzle on’ the YouTuber after being called out for a fight.

However, Paul has rallied against Mayweather for, as of yet, failing to sign a contract.
He recently remarked in one bizarre clip: “Hey Floyd, I know you’ve had the contract for a while now.

“At first I thought you didn’t sign it because you didn’t want one punch to ruin your legacy.
“But now I feel like maybe you didn’t sign it because you don’t know how to spell your name.

“Don’t worry, champ, I’ve got you – check this out. I made you a cheat sheet.”
Pointing to the letters sellotaped to the wall in his gloves, Paul added: “This is your name. Floyd Mayweather.
“It’s pretty simple – it starts with an F.”

‘Iron Mike’ Tyson explains why ‘gym rat’ Floyd Mayweather can become a great trainer even though he likes to party

MIKE TYSON has backed fellow boxing legend Floyd Mayweather to become a hugely successful trainer.
Mayweather, 43, hung up his gloves an undefeated champion three years ago having won all 50 of his fights.

Floyd Mayweather has vowed to turn into a legendary coachCredit: Getty – Contributor

The American, who owns a strip club in Las Vegas, signalled his intentions to remain in the sport by becoming “one of the best trainers in the world.”
The Money Man has been inspired by his uncle and former coach Roger who died aged 58 back in May.
And his quest to reach the very top once again has been backed by former heavyweight champion Iron Mike.
Speaking to TMZ, he said: “Mostly, the guy that’s the great trainer is not the great fighter and that’s why he becomes the great trainer.

“I give Floyd a good chance because Floyd’s a gym rat, that’s all he does.
“You see him in the club for one week but he’s in the gym every day for 25 years.
“Even when he goes out and party, he’s back in the gym the next day. He does it in his sleep, this is what he does.”
It is no secret that Mayweather enjoys a night out flaunting his cash as regularly seen on Instagram.

Following the death of Roger, Mayweather posted a video taking his 14-year-old nephew Chris on the pads, which came days after giving his son Koraun a masterclass at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas.

I promise you, I will be one of the best trainers in the world.
    Floyd Mayweather

And he vowed to turn upcoming fighters into legends with the comment: “Due to the recent passing of my Uncle Roger, I’ve felt inspired to help those around me the same way they have been there for me throughout my boxing career.
“In a time where we must distance ourselves from others, it has allowed me to reflect on how I want to make a difference in people lives and help them achieve their goals.
“A true trainer wants the best out of their fighter and pushes them to the best of their abilities. I am new to helping people train as I’ve always been on the other side of the mitts.
“A fighter could be impressive at mitt work but it doesn’t make him a great fighter. A trainer could be impressive on the mitts but it doesn’t make him a great trainer.
“It has become a goal of mine to help others reach the best versions of themselves and walk with it in confidence. I want to leave an impression on those around me and allow them to see their potential.

“This quarantine period has allowed me to see the importance of unity and helping others grow. I want to do my part on this Earth and allow people to see the potential in themselves so that they can share it with the world.
“I am new at training and so far I’ve been working with people with no boxing experience, therefore we are growing together.
“But I promise you, I will be one of the best trainers in the world. Inspire and be inspired.”

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr weigh-in LIVE REACTION: Tyson says he will ‘come running’ at Jones Jr as pair hit scales

MIKE TYSON and Roy Jones Jr are ready to go to war with the big heavyweight fight just a day away..
But before that first bell goes though the veteran pair have to face-off at the weigh-in, along with undercard stars Badou Jack and Jake Paul.
    [embedded content]

    Follow all the reaction below…

BIT OF A QUIET ONE THAT
Well, not much to report from the weigh-ins there from the US.
Tyson and Jones Jr were separated by a screen. There wasn’t any trash-talking.
Jones Jr insisted he wasn’t ‘making a mistake’, while Tyson said the outcome of the fight would be down to Jones Jr.
    Which in itself was strange.
He did confirm what many of us already thought – that he would ‘come running’ at Jones Jr.

    NOW TYSON SPEAKS
“I’m pitching punches, everything else is up to Roy.
“If I am running anywhere, I am running right at him.”

    JONES SPEAKS FIRST
“It’s going to turn out right trust me.”

TYSON AND JONES SEPARATED BY A SCREEN!
Probably a good job. Tyson was the first to turn away.
The pair flex for the camera.

    IRON MIKE STRIPS OFF
The 54-year-old was the youngest ever heavyweight champ.
He is on the scales at 220.4lbs.

    AND HERE IS TYSON!!

JONES JR IS HERE ON THE SCALES
Last fought in 2018, he was the P4P king for many years.
Jones Jr hits the scales at 210.

HERE WE GO! JONES IS SET TO COME OUT!!

    JAKE PAUL SPEAKS
“I love the sport, I am made for this.
“It is an opportunity to prove people wrong.
“I am ready to take the world by storm.
“Nate’s kids, if you are watching, don’t watch the fight, it’s going to be bad. It’s going to be bloody.”

    ROBINSON SPEAKS
“I just want to prove I am one of the greatest athletes that’s ever lived.”
    Wow.

PAUL VS ROBINSON – FACE TO FACE
Trash talking ensures, mostly by Paul.
He calls Robinson a b***h, with the former basketball star replies ‘see you tomorrow’.
They were separated by a screen.

JAKE PAUL vs NATE ROBINSON NEXT!
Robinson hits the scales at 181lbs, that’s the former basketball star ahead of his pro bxing debut.
Jake Paul, wearing a strange heairpiece and a mask, weighs in at 189.
He had to take the heairpiece off to make weight seemingly!

    WEIGH IN IS NOW!
On the scales comes Badou Jack and Blake McKernan.
McKernon is undefeated and is adamant that will continue and he will move to 14-0.
McKernan hits the scales at 186.8lbs.
    Jack weighs in at 188.9lbs.
The announcer says that it is ‘one of the most anticipated bouts on the cards’ and that the pair ‘have something to prove.
McKernand goes face-to-face showing the American flag in the face of Swede Jack.

    MIXED BAG ON THE UNDERCARD
So two legends are topping the bill as we know.
Hasim Rahman Jr is also there, he is of course the son of the boxer who beat Lennox Lewis.
Badou Jack also fights, so they are both decent level boxers.
Then…… there is Jake Paul fighting a basketball star.
    Erm…

    TYSON’S TURNAROUND
Mike Tyson admitted excesses out of the ring imapcted his health after retiring.
So he did something about it – and underwent a stunning body transformation.
Jones Jr is not long retired and still has some decent tools in his locker – but he will clearly lack the power that his fearsome opponent has.

    TYSON WANTS EARLY KO
Iron Mike adamant that he will go out and ‘get on top’ of Roy Jones Jr from the off.
He will come flying out, the question will be how long he can keep it going for.
Haye says: “Roy Jones has to use his speed, one thing he has always had is exceptional speed.
“He can get out of range, come in range let shots go and get out of range.
“If he tries to mix it with Tyson, they say the last thing you lose is your power. Jones has to be cautious.”

Richie Woodhall on Roy Jones Jr
“His speed and athelticism was incredible”.
Woodhall highlights Jones Jr’s win against James Toney as one of his best ever.
It was some performance stepping up in weight.

    David Haye on BT Sport
“Mike Tyson was a wrecking machine, he would walk in and get you out of there.
“On his day when he was fired up, motivated, young and fresh, he looked about as invincible as you would get at heavyweight.
“If he has 10 per cent what he had back then he can cause a lot of problems for people.”

    HERE WE GO!!
We start with a preview of BOTH the huge fights BT Sport are showing this weekend.
Daniel Dubois faces Brit heavyweight rival Joe Joyce in London in what could be a thrilling affair.
Then later over in the US, Mike Tyson squares off against fellow Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr.
    Some night of boxing!!

    WE ARE ALMOST READY!
Just a matter of SECONDS now until fight fans get the chance to see two legends weigh-in.
There are lots of questions people still have for the Tyson vs Jones Jr fight… all will be answered come Saturday night in the US.
The latest to come out of the camps is that a cut will stop the fight – but the severity will surely be at the referee’s discretion.

    SUNSPORT SNAPPER DOES A TYSON!
Award-winning photographer Dickie Pelham decided to follow Mike Tyson’s gruelling fitness regime to get fit.
The 57-year-old saw his running halted when he had to have an op on his foot – so decided to get into boxing and circuits.
Tyson has undergone a stunning body transformation – and Dickie doesn’t look too bad himself!
    Read all about it here!

    20 MINUTE COUNTDOWN
Not long to go until we see Mike Tyson and Roy Jones stripped down and on the scales for their mouthwatering exhibition this weekend.
There have been some rumours that Tyson will weigh LESS than Jones, such as been his stunning body transformation.
Jones has been looking lean himself in training and looks to have shifted some of the retirement poundage himself.
Will we get the traditional stare-down? Will Tyson be in that raging zone where he pretty much won his fights at the weigh-in?
All will be revealed for what promises to be an intriguing scrap!

Anthony Joshua looks shredded in training ahead of Pulev fight but Lennox Lewis claims Tyson Fury ‘more dangerous’

ANTHONY JOSHUA has shown fans his incredible physique in training ahead of his heavyweight showdown with Kubrat Pulev.
Yet despite AJ’s countless efforts in the gym, Lennox Lewis has claimed his fellow Londoner will still be at a disadvantage when he faces Tyson Fury.

Joshua has already verbally agreed to a double header to face the Gypsy King for next year.
But the London 2012 gold medallist is first putting his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles on the line against Bulgarian Pulev on December 12.
And AJ has once again wowed fans with his latest promo pictures ahead of the fight that showed the boxer flaunt his incredible bulging biceps.
He captioned the snaps on Instagram: “Each fight holds a story.”

You’ve got Fury, he is a switch hitter and he is going into the fight with a lot more dangerous things to watch out for
Lennox Lewis on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Although countless fans swarmed to flood the comment section by hailing Joshua, Lennox Lewis issued a word of caution to the Watford star.
Lion shared his belief that Fury will emerge victorious over his fellow Brit when they finally meet in the ring in 2021.
As quoted by the Daily Mail, he said: “The Fury and Joshua fight, you have got two big guys and they can punch and they can box.
“You’ve got Fury, he is a switch hitter and he is going into the fight with a lot more dangerous things to watch out for – the fact that he can punch with left hand, with his right.

“He is a slugger as well, the way he went after Deontay (Wilder), nobody expected that. He said what he is going to do and he did it. I like guys who box with confidence like that.”

Lewis later revealed that Fury’s height compared to Joshua – the Gypsy King has three-inches on his rival – will give him a lot of advantages.
He added: “I have always said that it is always difficult boxing taller guys.
“He is 6ft 9, you are not going to get any sparring partners who are 6ft 9 to go in there.
“AJ has to figure that out as well. It is going to take him a few rounds.”

Mike Tyson’s scariest ring entrance ever STILL has fans and other fighters fearful 21 years later

MIKE Tyson has left fans quivering in their boots again – 21 years after embarking on boxing’s most terrifying ring-walk ever.
In 1999, Iron Mike took on South Africa’s Francois Botha at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Not only was it Tyson’s return to the ring after biting a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear – it was a return to the very same arena.
That alone would be enough to create a tense, chilling atmosphere.
But add in Tyson’s ring-walk and fans have been left running scared watching it back ever since… all of 21 years.
The American boxer powerfully strode to the ring to the sound of DMX’s “Intro – It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot” looking terrifyingly determined, to a mixed chorus of cheers and boos.

The video has racked up nearly three million views and has enjoyed a huge influx of hits lately as fans look to fill the void with no live sport to follow.
    SCARIEST EVER
And one viewer commented: “If I was Botha I would have just took my gloves off, left them in the ring, and got the next flight back to South Africa.”
Another said: “Never seen a more intimidating fighter of all combats sport combined in 25 years than Tyson. He’s a myth.”
A third joked: “He could walk out to the song ‘row, row, row your boat’ and it would scare people.”

Tyson went on to win the fight, via a fifth-round KO – but he later admitted he wasn’t at his best.

Mike Tyson’s ring-walk in 1999 is arguably the scariest of all time

After the fight, he claimed: “I’m a little embarrassed. I wanted to shine tonight. It takes time. It takes time.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day… I’ve got to improve a lot more. I’ve got a long way to go.
“I wasn’t worried. I knew I was going to knock him out. It was just a matter of time.”

Daniel Dubois ready to fly flag for British boxing like legends Lennox Lewis and Frank Bruno

DANIEL DUBOIS is ready to hold the weight and expectation of the nation on his giant shoulders.
Ahead of the British and Commonwealth champion’s defence against Joe Joyce on Saturday night, SunSport draped the wonderkid in an iconic Union Jack flag.

Lennox Lewis also celebrated with the Union Flag after a title win

British heavyweight heroes Frank Bruno, Lennox Lewis and David Haye all wore the same national colours before their world title wins.
And the Peacock Gym prodigy believes he is ready to burst on to the mainstream scene as a major force – just like the three home stars before him.
Dubois, 23, said: “It’s a proper heavy flag and I appreciate the meaning behind it.
“But I understand and appreciate the magnitude it brings and the responsibility it brings.

“The heavyweight division remains almost separate from the rest of the sport of boxing.
“If it’s thriving, then the sport is healthy. When there is a heavyweight dip then everyone suffers.
“Britain has had some legends and also had some quiet periods.
“Lennox, Frank and David did amazing things and the sport thrived on the back of them in this country.

“I want to continue that, I want to carry the sport forward and be the face of British boxing, starting on Saturday night.
“I feel like the country is starting to warm to me. I’m going to try to entertain them and make sure at this time, which the whole world is going through, that a great fight can happen.
“Everyone can sit back and watch… don’t blink, it’s going to be amazing.”
Dubois is one of 11 siblings and sister Caroline, 19, who won Olympic youth gold, is expected to become one of the UK’s finest ever fighters – of any sex.
Little brothers Prince, 16, and Solomon, eight, are also in training, making the most of the gyms they have just built inside and in the garden of their new Essex home.
The fresh start is a far cry from the days Daniel and his dad shared racing around London markets like fictional Trotter icons Derek and Rodney.

Dubois and Joyce weighed-in for their big fight on FridayCredit: Stephen Dunkley/Queensbury
“I loved those days,” the retired fly pitcher said. “They were probably the best days of my life.
“It was exciting, we were never sure how the day would go.
“Dad had a way of making people come and buy, it was like magic. He was a master at his stuff and I’m trying to do the same with boxing.
“We probably were a bit like Del and Rodney actually – or maybe I was just like any other labourer. But I loved going along and seeing how it worked.”
Joyce, 35, and a teenage Dubois were once GB team-mates in Sheffield, helping Anthony Joshua prepare for London 2012.
And the 2016 Olympic silver medallist also gave fellow Londoner Dubois career advice in his early days.
But the healthy rivalry went out the window in February at the launch of this delayed bout.
Dubois snapped at Joyce’s mum Marvel at the press conference and said the fact she had 93 per cent blindness would spare her from seeing him beat up her son.
Softly-spoken Dubois has refused to apologise ahead of tonight’s showdown at London’s Church House, where the European crown is also up for grabs.
He insisted: “Why would you bring your mum to a press conference? It’s not personal but they are enemies until after the fight.”

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr: Iron Mike LIGHTER than 1986 world title win and vows to ‘come running’ at rival in comeback

MIKE TYSON weighed in LIGHTER for his fight against Roy Jones Jr than when he became the youngest-ever heavyweight champ in 1986.

    Tyson, 54, weighed in at 15st 10lbs.
It is almost 34-years-to-the-day that Tyson battered Trevor Berbick to be crowned WBC heavyweight champ at 20 years, four months and 22 days old.
For that fight Tyson hit the scales at 15st 11lbs.
The 54-year-old is also at his lowest weight for 23 YEARS.

In June 1997 the ‘Baddest Man On The Plant’ was disqualified after biting a chunk out of Evander Holyfield’s ear.
He weighed in at 15st 8lbs for that infamous scrap – his career but not his weight, went steadily downhill from there.
Jones Jr, perhaps unsurprisingly, came in at his heaviest ever at 15st dead on.
The 51-year-old fought most of his career at light-heavyweight after starting at middle.
