Daniel Dubois QUIT and ‘will be haunted and regret’ taking knee against Joe Joyce in TKO loss, claims Carl Frampton

CARL FRAMPTON accused Daniel Dubois of quitting against Joe Joyce after he failed to beat the count.
Dubois’ left eye was left battered and closed by round ten when a Joyce jab landed right on the target.

After a pause for thought, it prompted the 23-year-old to take a knee – before he was counted out.
SunSport understands Dubois was taken to local hospital for standard neurological tests before then going to Moorfields specialist eye hospital.
Frampton, working as a BT Pundit alongside David Haye, claimed Dubois ‘will be haunted and regret’ not getting to his feet.
And ex-heavyweight champion Haye was also critical of the stoppage.

He said: “I was very unhappy with the way that he took a knee, after taking a shot to the eye.
“It is the hurt game. I am sure Carl is the same.”
Frampton added: “I think that we all like Dubois, he’s a likeable guy.
“But if it’s someone we didn’t like w’ed say he’s a quitter. And I think he quit there.

“I have to be brutally honest, let’s call a spade a spade, he took a knee from a shot in the eye.
“His eye was a mess, his eye was closed but I get dragged out of the ring. I wouldn’t take a knee and get pulled out.”
Dubois was handed his first defeat, while Joyce remains unbeaten and left with the British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight titles.
And he inherits Dubois’ No2 ranking in the WBO, as he called out No1 rated Oleksandr Usyk. More

Dubois vs Joyce LIVE RESULTS: Main event UNDERWAY latest round updates – stream FREE, TV channel, ring walks

DANIEL DUBOIS is facing Joe Joyce NOW in a contest which many are tipping to be one of the heavyweight fights of the year.
‘Dynamite’ Dubois was supposed to face Joyce back on April 11, before the coronavirus pandemic put a halt to those spring plans.

Follow ALL of the latest updates below…

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 5
That was a big round four from Joyce but Dubois comes forward again in the fifth with a nice right hand.
He finds his range here and there Dubois, while Joyce has been so consistent with his jab. There’s making all over the face of Dubois.
But DDD does land a nice jab of his own to score himself. Dubois then pops in a nice one-two but Joyce takes it again.
Really great fight so far – it’s on a knife-edge and could still go either way.

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 4
Dubois gets on his jab again to begin the round but it’s much less of the frantic pace he set in the previous two rounds.
Joyce coming forward and getting himself in there more than Dubois would like.
Dubois lands a body shot but Joyce takes it and continues to come forward.
Juggernaut utilising his jab again in the fourth, plenty of accuracy from the Putney man. Close round again. 2-2 or 3-1 Joyce?

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 3
Dubois opens up with another nice jab and gets on it straight away with power shots!
He’s been fantastic since the end of the first round but he needs to be careful he doesn’t tire at this rate, because Joyce can go on like this all night.
Excellent fight thus far. Joyce continues with his jab and Dubois’ nose begins to redden.
Dubois is looking a tad tired as the round comes to an end. He felt the pace of that one. More excitement from both fighters there, though.

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 2
Dubois comes out swinging in the second round! Good start to the second for the British champion after losing the first.
He looks like he’s shaken off a few nerves and he’s responded well to his corner’s instructions.
Joyce weathers the storm, though, and gets back to his boxing. Dubois lands a nice jab and then a strong right but Joyce hangs in there again!
    Great second round!

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 1
Joyce coming forward to kick things off but Dubois working nicely with the early job before landing a right hand.
Interesting opening minute to the round as both fighters take a look of what’s in front of them.
Joyce enjoying himself on the front foot but he has to be careful because Dubois could land at any moment.
Juggernaut doing okay in those early stages, though. 1-0 Juggernaut.

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
Here we go! We’ve waited for most of 2020 for this one. Enjoy it while it lasts.

DANIEL DUBOIS VS JOE JOYCE IS NEXT!

Dubois def. Ricardo Snijders TKO 2 (Aug 2020)
Dubois def. Kyotaro Fujimoto KO 2 (Dec 2019)
Dubois def. Ebenezer Tetteh TKO 1 (Sept 2019)
Dubois def. Nathan Gorman KO 5 (July 2019)
Dubois def. Richard Lartey KO 4 (April 2019)

    NEARLY TIME!
Both fighters are nearly ready in their dressing rooms.

    ANTHONY JOSHUA PREDICTION
“Joyce can outwork him, if Dubois don’t stop Joyce early. If it’s an early fight I’d go Dubois because he’s a puncher,” the two-time world champ said.
“If Joyce outworks him I think it’ll be a late rounds stoppage or he’ll win on points because Joyce has really got a good engine.
“They’re just different styles. Dubois hasn’t got the engine Joyce has, and Joyce ain’t got the power Dubois has.
“But Joyce is more experienced, he’s basically an Olympic champion. A WSB fighter, he’s done a lot.”

    SHEERAZ BEATS PITTO
    Good win for Sheeraz.
Although he looked pedestrian at times, he finally got the stoppage in the 10th.
That’s six stoppages in a row for Sheeraz. 12 wins out of 12.

    SHEERAZ BEATS PITTO!!!
    Round 10
Sheeraz manages to get the finish out of nowhere!
He stumbles Pitto backward and once he gets his opponent on the ropes it’s all over from there.
Sheeraz slams in multiple punches and the referee steps in after seeing Pitto’s head snap back.
Good way to finish a neat performance!

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 9
Sheeraz lands a nice left-uppercut that snaps Pitto’s head back before using his right hand as a measuring stick and whacking in a right hand.
A stoppage here would be the icing on the cake for this otherwise neat performance.
Sheeraz has been so impressive in previous performances that more will have been expected of him tonight.
Pitto still in there with one round to go.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 8
Sheeraz is in total control but should really look to be closing this out now.
Pitto is obviously there for the taking. And at this point, all we’re doing is delaying the main event we’re all waiting for.
The commentators even sound bored now.
    Ah well, onto the ninth.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 7
Some quality shots going in from Sheeraz, who continues to take onslaughts from Pitto. But the Argentine just hasn’t got the power to trouble the home fighter.
The eye-catching work is coming from Sheeraz, but Pitto probably working a little bit harder at this point.
Sheeraz lands a cracking jab to close the round and it’s another round in the bag.
Pitto is tough, but it’s pretty pedestrian this fight now.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 6
Good start to the round for Sheeraz, who pings off a few nice combinations after his corner tells him to become more aggressive.
Pitto has done well to make it this far – he’s really looked there for the taking at times, particularly in the first round.
Sheeraz manages to throw him off balance midway through the round before connecting with a left hand, however.
Pitto looking a little tired toward the end of the round.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 5
Sheeraz can really look to put this one away if he puts his foot on the gas with real venom soon.
Pitto is there for the taking and hasn’t shown that he can hurt Sheeraz, so why not go for the finish?
Perhaps he really wants the rounds in the bag. He moves in and out of punching range, trying to get stinging shots in between Pitto’s guard.
But onto the sixth we go!

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 4
Sheeraz putting his foot on the gas to begin proceedings in round four. He pushes forwar with some pumping right hands but Pitto has his guard tight.
Pitto ventures forward but not much gets through Sheeraz’s own tight guard.
Sheeraz moves southpaw for the final stages of the round and shows more of his quality in another dominant stanza.
    4-0 to Sheeraz.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 3
Pitto buzzed in this third round after staying in the pocket just that little bit too long.
Sheeraz lands a brilliant right hand that looked like it really hurt Pitto but once again he decides to hold back.
The home fighter then pops in a nice left uppercut before getting off a nice combination.
He looks really comfortable in there now – and he’s hitting Pitto at will. Big round for Sheeraz.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 2
Nice, long, straight right hand into the face of Pitto from Sheeraz, who almost looks like he’s trying to get a few rounds in on purpose here.
He actually had Pitto hurt in the first round but decided to hold off on looking for the finish.
Pitto trying to work different angles in order to get some shots in but he’s finding it tough as Sheeraz has such a big frame.
Sheeraz looking much the stronger fighter in there tonight.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
    Round 1
Sheeraz much the bigger man in there tonight. He’s 6ft 3in, which is absolutely huge for a super-welterweight fighter.
The UK fighter has never been past the sixth round and this one is a 10-rounder, so he could step on the gas pretty soon.
He’s throwing out some nice jabs to begin the round while it looks like there’s nothing Pitto can do to really trouble him.
Pitto looks nervous and tentative while Sheeraz reins body shots down on him.

    SHEERAZ VS PITTO
Here we go! Looking forward to this one. Sheeraz is a special talent.

HAMZAH SHEERAZ VS GUIDO PITTO UP NEXT!

Why are Viddal Riley and Hasim Rahman Jr NOT fighting on Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr and what is the new undercard?

THERE will be one less professional fight on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Unbeaten British boxer Viddal Riley was set to fight Rashad Coulter, only for the cruiserweight to pick up an injury.

Viddal Riley was been forced to pull out of the fight against Rashad Coulter

He was replaced by Hasim Rahman Jr, but he too has been forced to withdraw.
As a result, Coulter will now not be competing on the huge bill, with a preliminary fight bumped up to be on the main card.
WHY IS VIDDAL RILEY NOT ON THE CARD?
The 23-year-old was forced to pull out after picking up a back injury.
Speaking on his YouTube channel: “It wasn’t an easy decision to make to not fight on that card.

“If you all can see how much of an opportunity this fight was for me, then I can definitely see how much of an opportunity this fight was for myself and my team and my career.
“I’ve had an injury that reoccurred this time last year. I had to pull out of the ‘Tank’ [Gervonta Davis] vs Yuriorkis Gamboa undercard for the same injury, a back injury.
“It is something that is not going anywhere and it is consistently hindering my performance.
“In the lower back I get extreme pain from nerve compression. I went through a stage when I was lifting a lot of weights that I really didn’t need to life.

“It shortened a lot of the muscle bellies for me and also put a lot of compression on the nerves that come off the vertebrae in the spine.”

WHY IS HASIM RAHMAN JR NOT ON THE CARD?
The 9-0 boxer tested negative for COVID-19 earlier in the bill, but nonetheless contracted the deadly bug this week.
And there was no time to find a back-up for him.
It is understood that Coulter will still receive his purse for the fight.

    WHAT IS THE UPDATED CARD?
    Main card:
Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr- Heavyweight
Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson- Light heavyweight
Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan- Light heavyweight
Jamaine Ortiz vs. Sulaiman Segawa- Vacant WBC USNBC Silver Lightweight title
    Undercard:
Irvin Gonzalez vs. Edward Vazquez- Vacant WBC USNBC Featherweight title
Juiseppe Cusumano vs. Greg Corbin- Vacant WBC USNBC Heavyweight title
Legendary sports announcer Mauro Ranallo will step in for Al Bernstein as commentator.

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr: UK start time TONIGHT, live stream, TV channel, undercard and rules as boxing titans fight

MIKE TYSON and Roy Jones Jr are going toe-to-toe TONIGHT in a spectacular throwback fight in Los Angeles.
54-year-old Tyson will do battle with Jones, 51, in a long-awaited bout, with the Baddest Man on the Planet dropping an incredible SIX stone to get in shape for the clash.

Listen to Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr live on talkSPORT

The California State Commission say the exhibition will be fought under the rules that both men will not look for the knock-out and will instead “exhibit” their skills, but both fighters have come out and said the contrary.
When is Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr?
The big fight is set for TONIGHT – Saturday, November 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
It was originally set to take place on September 12 but the event has been postponed until later in the year.
The undercard is expected to start at 9pm ET – 1am GMT – and the main event will follow between 4am and 5am GMT.
The legends are set to go eight rounds in the ring, with Youtube star Jake Paul and NBA star Nate Robinson confirmed for the undercard.

What TV channel is Tyson vs Jones Jr on and can I live stream it?
BT Sport Box Office will be broadcasting the fight in the UK.
The event will cost £19.95 to watch.
Coverage begins at 8pm ET, which is midnight in UK. The undercard is set to start from 1am GMT.
The social media site Triller will also be airing the PPV fight.
Emmy-winner Mario Lopez hosts the show, and musical acts will be announced for performances too.
You can also listen to all the action live on talkSPORT.
Who is on the Tyson vs Jones Jr undercard?
YouTuber Jake Paul leads the way on the four-fight card when he takes on ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.

Viddal Riley, who trained KSI for his fights with Logan Paul, has pulled out injured and has been replaced by Hasim Rahman Jr.
And in a new unfortunate twist, Riley’s replacement Hasim Rahman Jr, tested positive for Covid so the fight is off.
    Main card
    Prelims

Irvin Gonzalez vs. Edward Vasquez (8 x 3min, featherweight)
Juiseppe Cusumano vs. Nick Jones (8 x 3min, heavyweight)

What are the rules of the fight?
The fight will be contested over eight, two-minute rounds.
No headguards will be worn but the fighters will be wearing larger 12-ounce gloves.
Technically the fight can only be stopped if there is a knock-out, but California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Forster said he will stop it if a cut appears.
Referee Ray Corona will be able to halt it if he chooses to.
The WBC will be remotely scoring the fight with the winner crowned WBC Frontline champion.
Forster said: “Tyson and Jones Jr. won’t be wearing headgear for the fight.
“They’ll be lacing up 12-ounce gloves and there won’t be any judges present at the fight to score the action. So, technically, there won’t be a winner unless a knockout somehow occurs, or either fighter is deemed unfit to continue.
“They can move around and make some money, but I told them if you get cut, it’s over.”

Roy Jones Jr, 51, last fought only two years ago
    What have they said?
Mike Tyson: “We’re throwing punches at each other. This is going to be my definition of fun … broken eye sockets, broken jaw, broken rib. That’s fun to me.”
Roy Jones Jr: “He’s still Mike Tyson, he’s still one of the strongest, most explosive people who ever touched a boxing ring. If anything, I made a mistake going in with him.
“He’s the bigger guy, he’s the explosive guy. He’s going to have all the first-round fireworks, not me.
“I do have first-round fireworks, but he’s known for more first-round fireworks than anybody to ever touch boxing, other than maybe George Foreman.” More

Inside stunning Church House venue for Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce fight next to Westminster Abbey which bombed in WW2

DANIEL DUBOIS’ clash with Joe Joyce tonight will take place in an unlikely venue – the spectacular Church House Westminster.
This week, promoter Frank Warren revealed the monster boxing match – as well as Anthony Yarde vs Lyndon Arthur a week later – would take place at the iconic venue.

The building is absolutely drenched in history, having been originally built in 1887 to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
In 1937, it was renovated by architect Sir Herbert Baker, with the foundation stones even laid by Queen Mary.
Three years later, the building was complete – and officially opened by King George VI.
However, shortly afterwards, the structure took a direct hit from a German bomb during The Blitz in World War II.

Incredibly, the building suffered minimal damage, with then-Prime Minister Winston Churchill so impressed by its resilience, he refurbished it for use by the two Houses of Parliament for the remainder of the war.
Church House Westminster would become a frequent host of major Churchill speeches from then on.
Churchill famously launched his speech confirming the sinking of the Bismarck from the Hoare Memorial Hall.
The very same room then hosted the first-ever UN General Assembly AND UN Preparatory Commission and Security Council meetings in 1946.

    WHAT IS CHURCH HOUSE WESTMINSTER?

CHURCH House Westminster is a Grade-II listed multi-purpose event and conference venue uniquely located in tranquil Dean’s Yard.

It boasts 19 flexible event spaces – most of which offer stunning views of Westminster Abbey.
The dedicated team are consistently recognised by the BDRC Gold Standard for their commitment to service excellence throughout all areas.
The conference and event spaces are equipped with the latest technology, supported by the venue’s own in-house, award-winning audio-visual team.

These days, the venue is a Grade II-listed building, complete with 19 flexible event spaces.
In the coming weeks, it will welcome some of Britain’s top boxers, starting off with Dubois vs Joyce and then Yarde vs Arthur.
And Warren – celebrating 40 years as a promoter – can’t wait, saying: “I’m delighted to be able to confirm such a spectacular venue to host two weeks of fantastic big time boxing.
“It’ll be a more than fitting way to celebrate my forty years in professional boxing.
“Both these bouts are going to be battles for the history books, so it makes sense they’d take place in a venue so rich in history.
“Winston Churchill announced the sinking of the Bismarck inside this venue.
“And soon we’ll know who out of Dubois, Joyce, Yarde and Arthur will sink or swim.”

But he is making the most of his time there by joining the commentary team for Iron Mike’s comeback against Roy Jones.
The UFC middleweight champion will be ringside to serve as analyst on November 28 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
That is according to Sports Illustrated, who also revealed the rest of the commentary team.
And Tyson and Jones will not be the only boxing legend involved.

Fellow ring icon ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard will also don the headset to see the two veterans pull the gloves back on.
And he will be joined by former NXT commentator Mauro Ranello, who has stepped in for Al Bernstein.
Adesanya told Sports Illustrated: “I am so grateful that I am going to be there commentating.
“Mike’s been retired for so many years, so this is something I never thought I’d see again.

“But as soon as I saw a clip of him training, I thought, ‘What the f…? Mike Tyson is banging again.”

Adesanya and fellow fighters Carlos Ulberg and Brad Riddell have been stuck in America for over a month after being unable to get a voucher to enter New Zealand’s managed isolation system until December 15.
Meanwhile, Tyson once again wowed fans ahead of the fight with his latest workout video.
He provided them with another glimpse of what they can expect by showing off his chiselled physique with a shirtless photo of himself complete with the wearing of his gloves and famous black shorts in the ring.

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr: Predictions from pundits and former rivals who make fight picks as legends return

ROY JONES JR goes into his fight against Mike Tyson as an underdog – according to those in the boxing business.
The American – who started his career as a light-middleweight – is also the bookies outsider.

He faces fellow legend Tyson in an eight-round exhibition on Saturday, and has been left with it all to do inside the ring.
But Jones, 51, only retired in 2018, meaning what he lacks in size and power he could make up in with activity and form.
Here SunSport runs down the predictions from fighters, promoters and trainers.
    Mike Tyson
Iron Mike did not have too much to say on the fight – only warning it will be all-action.

The 54-year-old told TMZ Sports: “Pain, baby, pain. A lot of pain.”
    Prediction: Violence

Mike Tyson fights for the first time since retiring in 2005
    Evander Holyfield
Holyfield twice beat Tyson and wants to face him for a third time after announcing he is also coming out of retirement.
He is backing his old rival to beat Jones if he lands one of his trademark shots – but fears if he fails it will be a snooze fest.

Holyfield, 58, told Teddy Atlas: “I think if Tyson catch him, he gonna hurt him. But if Tyson can’t catch him, it’s gonna be a lousy fight.”
Prediction: Tyson… if he can land.

    Danny Williams
Williams scored one of the great British upsets in a boxing ring after he knocked out an out-of-sorts Iron Mike in 2004.
But he still tips Tyson’s size and power to be too much for Jones.
Williams, 47, said: “I think Roy is going to get seriously hurt. He is a natural middleweight.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    James ‘Buster’ Douglas
Buster Douglas became the first man to beat Tyson, with his 1990 upset still considered one of the greatest shocks in boxing history.
He came into the fight a 42/1 underdog – and he gives Jones even LESS chance of repeating his victory.
Douglas, 60, told DJ Vlad: “I think he has a chance but it’s a slim chance. Slimmer than Buster Douglas.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    Amir Khan
Khan revealed both were an inspiration to him in his career, but questioned why they are coming out of retirement.
Still the former champion – who jumped from welterweight to middleweight in 2016 before being KO’d by Canelo – is backing the smaller man.
Khan, 33, told Fight Hub: “I don’t know what’s made Mike and Roy fight each other. I mean, they might be friends, I don’t know.
“But who’s going to win this fight? Roy Jones, in my opinion.”
    Prediction: Jones

Amir Khan has predicted Tyson will lose against Jones
    Freddie Roach
Legendary trainer Roach cornered Tyson towards the end of the heavyweight’s career.
They still keep in touch now, and Roach has no doubt his friend will win by knockout.
He told told Press Box: “I think Mike knocks Roy Jones out.
“But I did warn Mike that he has to be careful of Roy’s left to the body. That’s the punch Roy used to knock out Virgil Hill.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    Tyron Woodley
Former UFC welterweight champion Woodley is another who has looked up to Tyson and Jones.
As a result, he feels Iron Mike’s power over the eight rounds will prove too troubling.
Woodley, 38, told Mike Swick: “I’ve studied them so much. I’ve watched so many films, so many fights with both of them.
“I think if Mike Tyson touches anybody, they’re going down no matter how old he is. I just don’t see him not touching Roy at some point in the fight.”
    Prediction: Tyson

Ex-UFC welterweight champion on Tyson’s podcast
    Jeff Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather’s uncle – a trainer – runs his own boxing channel, often asking for predictions ahead of big fights.
But in his own verdict, he tips Tyson to just edge out Jones.
Mayweather said: “Overall, if I would have to bet my money, I would pick Tyson because I know he has the power.
“And as big as he is, he has some tremendous hand speed.”
    Prediction: Tyson

Floyd Mayweather’s uncle Jeff with Tyson
    Oscar De La Hoya
De La Hoya works with Jones’ great rival Bernard Hopkins as they run Golden Boy Promotions.
And the American – who wants to make a comeback of his own – is tipping Tyson to come out on top.
De La Hoya, 47, said on Instagram: “I’m going to have to go with Tyson.
“But it wouldn’t surprise me if Jones Jr pulls something off – like he always has in his career.”
    Prediction: Tyson

    Jake Paul
The YouTuber faces ex-NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard of Tyson’s comeback.
And he predicts Iron Mike will win the night’s main-event.
Paul, 23, told the Mayweather Boxing Channel: “I think uncle Mike’s going to take it home. But Roy Jones is looking dangerous too.
“I think [Tyson] is gonna stop him. Those punches look to vicious, I think round, fourth round he’s going to connect with one of those Mike Tyson’s uppercuts or hooks.”

MIKE TYSON returns to the ring for a huge clash with Roy Jones Jr this weekend – but plenty of effort has gone into the fights due to take place beforehand.

As if Tyson and Jones Jr weren’t big enough names, YouTubers and even a former NBA star will feature on the Los Angeles bill.
It’s due to be one hugely entertaining night of action, as two ring legends finally collide.
What Tyson and Jones Jr have said
“Now I’m doing it with a lot more enthusiasm because I’m doing it for someone else,” Tyson explained.
“Nobody has to ever worry about me getting rich, or getting jealous, or saying I’m doing this for money.

“I’m not getting anything. I just feel good doing this because I can.”

Jones Jr said: “I thought I was done.
“When I got the call from my team saying ‘Mike Tyson wants to fight you’ — that’s bucket-list material.
“Everywhere I go in life, people ask me ‘Hey, did you ever fight Mike Tyson?’ Now I don’t have to say ‘No’ no more.

“I’m so glad to get this opportunity because now I can say, ‘Yes, I did. I sure did.’
“And guess what? Tune in on the 28th, and you’ll see how it goes.”
