Dubois suffered broken orbital socket and nerve damage in brutal loss as eye ballooned up and will be out for months

DANIEL DUBOIS is facing a painful spell on the sidelines after Joe Joyce smashed his orbital socket and left his left eye with nerve damage.
Over ten brilliant rounds, the 35-year-old Olympic 2016 silver winner rammed an arrow of a jab into the British and Commonwealth champion’s eye.

In the end, the 23-year-old could take no more and was counted out on one knee, to hand his former Team GB sparring partner his old crowns and the vacant European belt.
The final left hand The Juggernaut landed seemed to send a shock through Dubois’ system and he compared the pain to an electric shock ripping through his skull.
The Greenwich prospect underwent standard neurological tests after the Westminster bout and was then whisked to Moorfields specialist eye hospital in East London where he stayed the night.
Dubois will return to Moorfields on Monday to see a specialist who will decide if he needs to be operated on, presumably once the ugly swelling has eased.

Former welterweight world champion Kell Brook suffered similar injuries to both of his eye sockets and needed eight months out to recover from the surgeries, that left him with titanium plates reinforcing his skull.
Another Brit Anthony Ogogo, a 2012 Olympic bronze medallist, retired from boxing last year after suffering a gruesome broken socket in his last fight against Craig Cunningham in 2016 and failing to recover despite SEVEN operations.
After the bout, Dubois said: “I couldn’t see out of the eye, it happens, I can’t explain it, he pinged it, I was trying my best
“I have been hit hard, it was the eye and the way it hit me.

“But I am a tough guy and I will come again I’m sure.”

Promoter Frank Warren hopes 15-1 Dubois takes a leaf out of David Haye’s celebrated book, once he heals.
The Hayemaker suffered a shock loss in his 11th fight but bounced back to become cruiser and heavyweight world champion.
Warren said: “The eye was a massive problem. I thought it was pretty even but he couldn’t see out of the eye and Joe did what he had to do.
“Daniel said it felt like a nerve shot through him and he was obviously in a lot of pain, he caught him with a jab and it’s done something to the eye.
“He will carry on, he is a young man, it is something he’ll learn from.
“A prime example is David Haye losing early in his career to Carl Thompson and he came back and won a title.”

Dana White says Mike Tyson ‘looked f***ing awesome’ aged 54 in his boxing return draw with Roy Jones Jr

DANA WHITE has described Mike Tyson’s comeback performance as ‘f****** awesome’ after the heavyweight drew with Roy Jones Jr.
At the age of 54, Iron Mike ended a 15-year spell out of the ring to return on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

Roy Jones Jr took Tyson all the way in what was ruled as a draw by judgesCredit: AP:Associated Press

Despite spending much of the eight-round affair on the front foot, Tyson could only take a draw against his 51-year-old counterpart.
The result left UFC chief and long-term pal White confident that the former world champ had, in fact, won the affair.
And he was left impressed with Tyson’s showing in the unique affair.
White told reporters: “You guys have been asking me questions leading up to this thing and I didn’t want to say anything.

“[Tyson] is a good friend of mine. I was nervous, he is 54 years old, time is undefeated and time takes us all down.
“And one of the things I was worried about for Mike was that he has this incredible aura still and, at 54 years old, fighting is a young man’s game.

“All that being said, he looked f****** awesome tonight, I was blown away by how good he looked.
“And I was worried about Roy. Roy is 51 years old but Roy has been way more active than Tyson has been.

“But Roy actually got more tired than Mike tonight – which was shocking.
“I am happy for him and I hope they both made a zillion dollars, and it exceeded my expectations.”

Dana White felt pal Tyson was the better fighter on the nightCredit: Getty Images – Getty

Indeed, Tyson’s purse is set to amount to £7.5million for his 16 minutes of work on Saturday night.
The US pay-per-view price of almost £40 meant the American earned around £8,000 for every SECOND he was in the ring.
And fans can expect to see Tyson back in the ring soon after declaring it was ‘more fun’ than a full-on title fight – with another contest ‘absolutely’ on his mind.

And his musings have gone down a treat with boxing fans – who are calling him the ‘best sports commentator of all time’.
Snoop, famous for hit ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’, compared the action to a “hood fight” as the fight unfolded.
And the West Coast hip-hop star sprung into life as a vicious right hand from Paul forced Robinson to the floor.
“Ohhh my GAWD!” Snoop yelled. “Lord have mercy. Oh Jesus!”

As Robinson struggled to rise to his feet, Snoop then began to sing a hymn.
“Take my hand, lead me home, let me stand…” he warbled as Robinson tried to recover.
But sensing what was coming, as Paul came in for the kill, Snoop exclaimed: “Goodnight Irene”.
“OH LORD!’ he continued as a flurry of punches from the internet star saw Robinson face plant the canvas.

And Snoop was only just getting warmed up – later calling the Mike Tyson v Roy Jones Jr, “This is like two of my uncles fighting at the barbeque!”
Adding: “Grandma, they out there fighting again!”

Today i learned that Snoop Dogg is the best sports commentator of all time.

Julia Rose licks and thrusts at big screen showing boyfriend Jake Paul with sex ban set to end after amazing KO

JAKE PAUL’s girlfriend licked and thrusted at a big screen after watching her man brutally knock out Nate Robinson last night.
Model Julia Rose, 26, was clearly delighted at the YouTube star’s victory – and that their sex ban is over.

The 23-year-old Paul took his clash with Robinson in Los Angeles so seriously that he abstained from sex with Julia, 26.
It’s a method used by legends like Floyd Mayweather, which famously is believed to ‘weaken the legs’ of a sportsman.
Paul even admitted in the build-up to the fight that his girlfriend ‘f***ing hates’ him because of the sex ban.
Speaking to TMZ, Paul said: “I haven’t had sex in a while, which is difficult to do since I have a girlfriend and she’s hot as f***.

“She’s p***ed, man, she hates me. She just looks at me like, ‘I f***ing hate you, bro. Why can’t we do this right now?!’”
The couple got together earlier this year and, despite a lack of antics between the sheets, Rose helped Paul in the gym during his preparation for Robinson.
But she was over the moon on Saturday night and can’t wait to celebrate with her boyfriend.
She posted a photo of the pair kissing on Instagram with the caption: “mmmm… tastes like victory to me”.

Rose has five million followers on Instagram and shot to fame when she flashed her boobs at the baseball World Series back in October 2019.
Rose’s stunt, alongside fellow gorgeous Insta models Kayla Lauren and Lauren Summer, raised money for breast cancer awareness.
The Instagram beauty runs magazine SHAGMAG, and encourages people to donate to breast cancer awareness at every opportunity with her racy snaps.
After being banned from Nationals Park following her World Series stunt, she responded by flashing her boobs again, this time outside the venue.

She joked in her caption: “Anyone got tickets to game six? jk I’m banned for life.”
Paul obliterated former NBA basketball star Nate Robinson with a brutal second-round KO last night.
Robinson face-planted after a looping right in the second round and was out cold as the fight was finally waved off.

“All that being said, (Mike Tyson) looked f—king awesome tonight! I was blown away with how good he looked.
“I was worried about Roy. Roy was 51 years old, but Roy’s been a lot more active than Tyson has been. Roy actually got more tired than Mike tonight, which was shocking. I’m happy for them. I hope they both made a f—king zillion dollars. It exceeded my expectations.”

    ICYMI
Roy Jones Jr was hurting after facing Mike Tyson and was adamant Iron Mike still has his famous power.
He said: “When he hits you, to the head, punches to the body shots, everything hurts.
“I’m cool with a draw, just might have to do it again.
“Body shots definitely took a toll the body shots are what make you exhausted.”

    MIK DROP
Mike Tyson has paid respect to Roy Jones Jr after battling to an eight-round draw in their fight.
He said: “I hit you with some good shots, and you took it.
    “I respect that.”

    JACK IT IN
Badou Jack gave Blake McKernan a boxing lesson and severely swollen face over eight one-sided rounds.
And it proved to be every bit of a mismatch that former two-weight champion Jack promised.

    OH BROTHER
KSI has already reacted to Jake Paul’s second-round KO win over Nate Robinson.
The Brit, who beat older brother Logan Paul on his professional, boxing debut last year, was called out by the Problem Child after the fight.
But KSI was less than impressed, tweeting: “I saw nothing special from Jake lol. Soon come.”

    RING IT IN
Mike Tyson says he will ‘absolutely’ have more boxing fights after he drew his comeback against Roy Jones Jr.
Speaking after the 16-minute scrap Tyson, 54 said: “I’m just happy I got this under my belt.
“I’m continuing to go further and do more. Absolutely [I’ll do this again].”

    PAUL TALK
Jake Paul has claimed he has taken up boxing for the long haul after moving to 2-0.
He said: “For me, my whole life has been a fight.
“So fighting — it’s something that I’m great at. Being from Ohio, a small town and making my way to Los Angeles to fame and success and just fighting for it.
“People never believing in me, people hating me — being one of the most hated people in the world. I have to fight through that, it’s not easy.
“So this is the perfect sport. I’ve found my lane.”

    PAUL TO PLAY FOR
Jake Paul has called out everyone from Conor McGregor to his own BROTHER Logan after his knocking out Nate Robinson.
Speaking in his post-fight interview, the YouTube star said: “I’ve been training my ass off for the past year. I’m taking this seriously.
“There’s a long list of opponents that I want — Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. I’m going to knock them both out.
“There’s my brother, KSI on the line, Austin McBroom. I want to be in this sport for a long time. I’m in love with it so why not?”

    REMINDER
Mike Tyson is set to make £7.5million from his mouthwatering comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr.
In the UK, it has cost fight fans £19.95 to watch the pair, with a combined age of 105, go to war.
In the US it has blasted a much bigger hole in fans’ wallets.
The price to see the legends trade leather was $49.99, around £38.
The fight, which went all eight rounds, has meant that Tyson could walk away with £7.5m.
That equates to £937,500 per round, £468,500 per minute and £7,812 per second.

    DOGGY STYLE
Snoop Dogg trolled Mike Tyson’s comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr by claiming the bout was more “like two of my uncles fighting at the BBQ”.
The legendary pair boxed to a DRAW over eight rounds in what ultimately provided more clinching than punching.
The mainly uneventful pay-per-view spectacle had little highlights, meaning the veteran duo avoided any risks to their health.

    DRAW LOTS
Mike Tyson drew in his big boxing comeback against Roy Jones Jr in a messy affair in Los Angeles.
Jones Jr did the perfect job of stifling Tyson throughout the entire fight by clinching at any opportunity he could.
You could almost tell it was going to be scored a draw half-way through – as nothing much was happening.

Eddie Hearn reveals Anthony Joshua would ‘hate’ him if he exposed the REAL reasons why he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr

ANTHONY JOSHUA would “hate” Eddie Hearn if the promoter revealed the real reasons he underperformed in his loss against Andy Ruiz Jr.
AJ was dropped four times during his first career defeat, which ended in round seven, with mystery surrounding what happened to the Brit star pre and post fight and rumours suggesting the heavyweight was concussed.

Anthony Joshua would ‘hate’ Eddie Hearn if the promoter revealed the real reasons he underperformed in his loss against Andy Ruiz Jr

Hearn admits Joshua had his reasons for coming into the fight sluggish and off his game

Joshua was forced to deny being dropped in sparring and even refute claims he had a panic attack before the headliner on his US debut in New York.
But Hearn admits Joshua had his reasons for coming into the fight sluggish and off his game but unlike Deontay Wilder – who blamed his loss to Tyson Fury on his ring costume – those excuses will not be aired.
Hearn told Sky Sports: “It’s nothing to do with sparring or panic attacks but there are reasons that he wasn’t firing on all cylinders. He will never tell you, and he would hate for me to tell you.
“He doesn’t want excuses like we’ve seen with Deontay Wilder.

“When I look back now, knowing what was wrong, I can look at his face and say: ‘You knew you weren’t 100 per cent, didn’t you?’.
“But all week he was fine, smiling. At no point did anyone say, ‘He doesn’t seem himself’. Looking back now there is something in his eyes that says, ‘I’m not best prepared’.”

Joshua stayed silent after his setback, but came out triumphant six months later as he enacted revenge on Ruiz in Saudi Arabia to reclaim the WBA, IBF and WBO titles.
But after that career defining win, the 30-year-old hinted that he suffered a health problem before the stunning loss.

Joshua told BBC Sport: “I had some issue with my health which I was going through for a long time.
“I didn’t know what was wrong with me. I felt so tired and drained and thought it must be down to training.
“In the changing room before the fight I got a bucket of ice and was putting my head in it thinking ‘why do I feel so tired?’
“The responsibilities of being world champion are difficult. All that stuff, feeling so tired, dealing with obligations.
    “Now I have energy, I haven’t missed a session.”

Joshua admitted to last year requiring an operation as well as treating the mystery ailment that hasn’t affected him since.
He added: “After my check-ups it showed what the problem was and this is what you have to get sorted.
“Even in this camp I had an operation done but as I’d started training in June I had no issues.”

Dubois vs Joyce LIVE REACTION: Juggernaut targets Usyk, DDD visits HOSPITAL with eye injury – results, latest updates

DANIEL DUBOIS was stunned by Joe Joyce as the former Olympian scored a tenth-round stoppage victory in their heavyweight bout.
DDD was cut over his left eye early in the fight and a stunning jab saw the favourite drop down to take a knee in defeat.

Follow ALL of the latest reaction below…

    EYE SPY
Daniel Dubois has reportedly suffered a broken orbital socket and nerve damage to his left eye.
The Athletic Dynamite was immediately transported to Moorfields Eye Hospital after his crushing defeat to Joe Joyce.
The report adds that Dubois suffered a broken orbital socket and nerve damage to his left eye.

    ICYMI
Dillian Whyte laid into heavyweight rival Daniel Dubois for ‘quitting’ against Joe Joyce last night.
He said on Instagram: “Man’s out here quitting in mid-fight.
“They were saying they wanna fight me and they were gonna knock me out.
“One thing with me, no quit, straight warrior. If I’m losing, I’m getting knocked out.
“Straight warrior, straight warrior. And these cowards wanna mention me.”

    ONE AND DONE
A UK judge gave Joe Joyce just one round before his stunning 10th round stoppage win over Daniel Dubois.
The Mirror’s David Anderson said: “Dubois was ahead on two scorecards, one by eight rounds and the other by two. He was behind by two rounds on the third when he quit in the 10th.
“He’s now gone to the hospital for a scan on his eye.”

    QUIT WHILE YOU’RE AHEAD
Carl Frampton agreed with Dillian Whyte after sharing his belief that Daniel Dubois ‘quit’ against Joe Joyce.
The former two-weight world champion, who was ringside for BT Sport, said: “I think that we all like Dubois. He’s a likeable guy. But if it is someone we didn’t like, we would say he quit there.
    “I think he quit there.
“I have to be brutally honest here. Let’s call a spade a spade, he took a knee from a shot in the eye. His eye was a mess, his eye was closed.
“But I get dragged out of the ring, I wouldn’t take a knee.
“I had Dubois a point up at the time of the stoppage, it was a close fight.
“You have to call it what it is; Dubois quit. But, he is a young kid and he can still come back.”

    BRAWL OVER
Joe Joyce jabbed Daniel Dubois into submission to walk away with the British, Commonwealth and European belts.
Dubois’ was counted out in the heavyweight headliner after taking a knee in round ten with his left eye worryingly swollen.
Dubois, 23, was ahead on two of the three judges’ cards when the fight was stopped, but he was slowly unpicked by a masterful, measured performance as Joyce pulled off the upset.
Here, SunSport tells the story of the fight.

    REMATCH ON THE CARDS
Promoter Frank Warren has revealed he is already interested in a rematch between Daniel Dubois and Joe Joyce when fans are allowed back in the arena.
He told BT Sport: “The eye was a massive problem. He couldn’t see out of it. I said it was a battle of the jabs. Whoever has the better jab would control the fight.
“Joe is strong, smart. Daniel said it was a nerve that shot through his eye and he was done. I couldn’t see what happened. He was obviously in a lot of pain. He clipped him with a jab and that obviously that did something to his eye.
“Daniel is a young man – of course he’ll carry on. It’s something you’ll learn from.
“I tell you what would be great is a rematch – and with a crowd there.”

    LEW BEAUTY
Lennox Lewis has given his reaction to his fellow Brits after Joe Joyce’s win over Daniel Dubois.
He tweeted: “Congrats to @JoeJoyceBoxing on a big win. The amateur pedigree can make all the difference in the world.
“@DynamiteDubois hold ur head up and learn from this this. Definitely not the end.”

    DAN IN THE DUMPS
Daniel Dubois has lifted the lid on his crushing defeat to Joe Joyce.
Dynamite told BT Sport: “He caught me with a good jab – I couldn’t see out of the eye. It just happens.
“I couldn’t see out of it – I was trying my best. I’ve been hit harder, but it was where I was positioned and he hit me on the eye.
“I was thinking of how to break him down. Joe rode his punches well. I was maybe a bit trigger happy. It is what it is, Joe won.”

    JOE WITH THE FLOW
Joe Joyce has set his sights on a WBO world title fight against Oleksandr Usyk.
He told BT Sport: “I’ve taken some big shots before. Daniel has got some power but I’ve felt power like that before. With my experience I’ve learnt to ride them. I felt his power but I was happy to take, but also not to take it.
“I started looking at the eye and it was starting to swell up. I was trying not to get too close but also not get backed up on the ropes.
    “I’m ready for Usyk.”

    FURY ROAD
Tyson Fury has also given his reaction to Joe Joyce’s tenth-round knockout over Daniel Dubois.
He posted an Instagram story which said: “Massive congratulations to my bro Joe Joyce.
    “Brilliant performance, great boxing display.
    “Boxing is a heart sport.”

    WHYTE NOT ALRIGHT
Dillian Whyte has ripped into Daniel Dubois for ‘qutting’ against Joe Joyce.
As quoted by talkSPORT, he said: “I ain’t got nothing to say, man. I ain’t got nothing to say. Man’s out here quitting.
    “Man’s out here quitting in mid-fight. S***. Man’s out here quitting mid-fight.
“They were saying they wanna fight me and they were gonna knock me out.
“One thing with me, no quit, straight warrior.
“If I’m losing, I’m getting knocked out. Straight warrior, straight warrior.
“And these cowards wanna mention [me]. F***ing fish eyes and Daniel Dubois, c***s.”

    LONG ROAD BACK
Former two-weight world champ David Haye thinks Daniel Dubois might not get a world title shot for a while.
Speaking after he watched his former fighter Joe Joyce stop Triple D in the tenth round, Haye predicted it would be ‘three or four years’ until the defeated boxer got that shot.
Joyce, meanwhile, looks set to have a shot at a world title himself – if Anthony Joshua vacates the WBO sxtrap to fight Tyson Fury.
That would set up Joyce to face Oleksandr Usyk.

    DUBOIS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL
Daniel Dubois has been taken to hospital. He’ll undergo standard neurological tests before moving on to see an eye specialist at Moorfields.
Suspected broken orbital bone and nerve damage for Dubois, who took a beating tonight.

    SCORECARDS
Somehow… one judge had Dubois up by EIGHT on one scorecard. Another had DDD up by two.
And the other had Joyce winning by three.
    Controversial, to say the least.

    QUITTER?
Carl Frampton and David Haye think Daniel Dubois quit tonight. What about you?

    JOYCE CALLS OUT USYK!
Joe Joyce immediately got on the mix to call out Oleksandr Usyk, who is mandatory for the WBO heavyweight title mandatory challenger.
AJ or Usyk for Joyce next year?

    CELEBRATION TIME
    What a celebration from Joyce!

    DUBOIS AND JOYCE SPEAK
“I’ve been hit hard, but the position on the eye… I’m tough, I’ll come again,” says Dubois.
“He rode the punches well, I was a bit trigger-happy, I need to be smarter and place my shots a bit better.
“I took some big shots, respect to Daniel, he’s got power, he’s hungry and young and he’ll come again,” Joyce says.
“I felt his power and I was happy to take it… but I preferred to not take it.
“I started looking at the eye and it was selling up, I was moving away from his right hand, trying not to get backed up.”

    WINNER!
What a performance from the Juggernaut.

    JOYCE BEATS DUBOIS!
That was an utterly sensational performance from Joe Joyce.
He jabbed, jabbed and jabbed some more until Dubois had enough. Cracking stuff.

    JOYCE BEATS DUBOIS
    Round 10
Dubois’ left eye is completely closed and he goes down off a jab and decides to stay down!
He’s has enough! He clearly couldn’t see and Joyce has picked up an absolutely huge win!
    WOW!

    JOE JOYCE STOPS DANIEL DUBOIS!!!!!!!!

    DUBOIS GOES DOWN!!!!!!!

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 9
Good round for Joyce but DDD with the more eye-catching moments throughout this fight so far.
It really is up about how the judges will be interpreting the action. Joyce stabbing the jab over and over, turning Dubois’ left eye blue, or the Peacock fighter’s big bursts of energy.
Joyce still bopping around, looking like he could do this all day. Dubois looks a little more laboured, but you get the sense a big shot can come from nowhere.
    Great fight!

    DUBOIS VS JOYCE
    Round 8
Dubois told by his trainer Martin Bowers: “You’ve worked too hard for this!” So DDD gets off his seat and goes to war again.
But his eye is really looking pretty messed up… and Joyce continues to jab at it. Short right hand from Joyce gets through this time.
DDD still in there, probing and coming forward, however, before the referee tells him off for a low blow.
Joyce continuing to plug away before DDD attempts a huge right hand and just misses.
