Mike Tyson ‘attacked by fan’ with cops called to scene after boxing legend refuses to fight him following Jones Jr bout

MIKE TYSON was reportedly attacked by a fan after his boxing comeback draw against Roy Jones Jr.
At the age of 54 Iron Mike laced up the gloves again when he took part in an eight-round exhibition at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

But according to TMZ Sports, the fighting didn’t end with the bell.
It is alleged that a fan ‘swung at Mike’ and then proceeded to ‘reach into his waistband, as if trying to pull out a weapon’.
The boxing legend’s team then intervened and the man is said to have fled the scene. Thankfully for the fan, Tyson is said to have ‘refused to fight him’.
A source has claimed that the man has previously attended Tyson events and ‘tried starting trouble.’

The police were called to a report of battery, but by the time they arrived ‘all parties had left and no report was taken’.
Tyson was unlucky not to get the victory in a messy affair on his big comeback
Jones Jr did the perfect job of stifling Tyson throughout the entire fight by clinching at any opportunity he could.
You could almost tell it was going to be scored a draw half-way through – as nothing much was happening.

After the scrap Tyson confirmed he will ‘absolutely’ have more boxing fights.
The 54-year-old said: “I’m just happy I got this under my belt.
“I’m continuing to go further and do more. Absolutely [I’ll do this again].”
Jones Jr was less-certain, saying that he will wait to check what people thought before confirming he will fight on.
But Tyson then urged his opponent to stick with it, adding: “We gotta do this again.”

Mike Tyson admits he smoked cannabis before Roy Jones Jr draw as 54-year-old legend reveals he ‘can’t stop’

MIKE TYSON admitted he smoked cannabis before his comeback fight against Roy Jones and revealed: ‘I can’t stop’.

Both men – who had a combined age of 105 – were drug tested by Voluntary Anti-Doping Association beforehand.
But cannabis was not included and 54-year-old Tyson took full advantage with a pre-fight blaze.
He revealed: “Listen, I can’t stop smoking.
“I smoked during fights. I just have to smoke. I’m sorry. I’m a smoker.

“I smoke every day. I never stopped smoking.”
Tyson would have appreciated the undercard performances as Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa appeared to smoke a blunt on stage.
Many felt the iconic puncher – fighting for the first time in 15 years – should have got the win on points.

But he warned fans it will not be the last of him as he plots more fights on his comeback trail.

Watch Snoop Dogg sing hymn then scream ‘OH LORD’ over Jake Paul KO to be labelled ‘best sports commentary of all time’

MOVE over David Haye, there’s a new co-commentator in town.
Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg voiced all the action as YouTuber Jake Paul brutally knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson in their exhibition fight on the Mike Tyson undercard.

And his musings have gone down a treat with boxing fans – who are calling him the ‘best sports commentator of all time’.
Snoop, famous for hit ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’, compared the action to a “hood fight” as the fight unfolded.
And the West Coast hip-hop star sprung into life as a vicious right hand from Paul forced Robinson to the floor.
“Ohhh my GAWD!” Snoop yelled. “Lord have mercy. Oh Jesus!”

As Robinson struggled to rise to his feet, Snoop then began to sing a hymn.
“Take my hand, lead me home, let me stand…” he warbled as Robinson tried to recover.
But sensing what was coming, as Paul came in for the kill, Snoop exclaimed: “Goodnight Irene”.
“OH LORD!’ he continued as a flurry of punches from the internet star saw Robinson face plant the canvas.

And Snoop was only just getting warmed up – later calling the Mike Tyson v Roy Jones Jr, “This is like two of my uncles fighting at the barbeque!”
Adding: “Grandma, they out there fighting again!”

Today i learned that Snoop Dogg is the best sports commentator of all time.

Before the boxing started Snoop Dogg performed while smoking a blunt
Before the fight began, Snoop treated PPV fans with a live concert – smoking a blunt as he performed.
But it was his skills as a commentator that really wowed fans.

“The MVP of tonight gotta be SNOOP DOGG,” Champagnepapi wrote on Twitter.
Stephen A Smith tweeted: Are y’all listening to my man @SnoopDogg call this fight. I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I’m loving this. Snoop’s the most entertaining part of this fight. He’s doing fantastic.

Mike Tyson slams Evander Holyfield’s representative over failed fight and insists he is still open to trilogy with rival

MIKE TYSON has insisted he is still up for a huge trilogy fight against old rival Evander Holyfield.
But Iron Mike has slated the 58-year-old’s representatives for failing to make the fight happen.

Tyson returned to the ring at the weekend to take on Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout.
The showdown between the pair – with a combined age of 105 – ended as a draw.
But the ex-heavyweight champion confirmed afterwards that he will fight again.
Holyfield’s name was immediately mentioned as an option – but he is set to make a sensational boxing comeback to fight Glenn McCrory in April.

Tyson said: “Maybe Evander needs to talk to me because every time my business associates talk to his business associates, it doesn’t turn out well.
“If you could see what we made tonight, if these guys really cared about the welfare of Evander, they would’ve had this fight with Evander.
“Or maybe they could do another. Whoever he’s with is handling it totally wrong.”
Tyson has been accused of being too ‘scared’ to rematch Holyfield after he snubbed the offer of a trilogy fight.

SunSport has pulled together a list of the next five opponents that Tyson could face.
George Foreman has even tipped Tyson to win a world title following his comeback.
He said: “If he gets in shape like he’s in now, and then gets his timing back, and all the other things fall into place, he can have an opportunity to fight for the title.”

Daniel Dubois out for five months with cracked eye socket and bleed on retina with Brit narrowly escaping being BLINDED

DANIEL DUBOIS is set to be out of action for at least five months following his defeat to Joe Joyce.
The 23-year-old suffered a cracked eye socket and a bleed on the retina before he was rushed to hospital.

Dubois could not continue after Joyce landed a heavy jab on his eye in the 10th round.
Dillian Whyte labelled the heavyweight a ‘coward’ for ‘quitting’ during the bout.
But doctors have now claimed that Dubois might have gone blind if he had fought on.
He could still need to have an operation and a titanium plate put in to aid his recovery.

The injury was too swollen on Monday for the medical staff at the surgery to make a decision.
Dubois will have to return to a specialist once the swelling has gone down for further checks.
Top surgeon Ricardo Mohammed-Ali insisted Dubois was right to stop as his eye could have dropped into his sinus.
But Chris Eubank Jr claimed he was ‘disgusted’ by the 23-year-old’s decision to stop the fight.

But Olympic middleweight bronze medallist Anthony Ogogo, who was blinded in one eye after doing six rounds with a busted eye socket in 2016, leapt to Dubois’ defence.
Ogogo, 32, said: “I’d hate to see your dreams end like mine did.”
His promoter Frank Warren said: “The last punch he took caught a nerve and it shot through him.”

Evander Holyfield to fight Glenn McCrory next year aged 58 in first fight for a decade

EVANDER HOLYFIELD will reportedly make a sensational boxing comeback to fight Glenn McCrory in April.
The Real Deal has been teasing a return to the sport that made him a world champion for months.

Bare Knuckle Boxing will promote the event – but the two fighters will be wearing gloves

Holyfield has shared photos and videos on his social media accounts showing gruelling training routines and his impressive physique at 58 years old.
It was strongly rumoured that he would be the opponent for Mike Tyson in his ring return at 54.
This would have completed the trilogy with Holyfield 2-0 up against Iron Mike.
But Roy Jones Jr was the man picked for that – the pair drew at the Staples Center in Los Angeles at the weekend.

Now, as reported by talkSPORT, Holyfield WILL lace up the gloves – and fight British former cruiserweight world champ McCrory.
The 56-year-old said: “I spoke to Holyfield on the phone the other night and he said he’ll fight me.
“He’s been scared of me for 30 years, but now he’s finally going to fight me. He’s getting brave.
“We’re looking at April, I’m talking to Joe Brown and Jim Freeman from the BKB company and they want to put it on at the O2 in April.

“I was champion after Evander moved up to heavyweight, I took his vacant crown and I said to him the other night, ‘Why did you move up? Were you scared of me?’
“It’s 30 years in the making. I was the heir to his cruiserweight throne and he was the fight I always wanted, he was the best and he moved away.
“I’ve always been in good shape, I climbed the eighth-highest mountain in the world last year, so if I can do that with no training, I can certainly fight Holyfield – it’s what I do!”
McCrory last fought in 1993 when he was outpointed by Alfred Cole. He won 30 of his 39 fights, losing 8 and drawing one.
Holyfield retired a winner in 2011 after KO’ing Brian Nielsen. He finished his career with 44 wins, ten losses and two draws.

Billy Joe Saunders vs Martin Murray undercard: Who is fighting on huge world title bill in London?

BILLY JOE SAUNDERS will defend his WBO super-middleweight title for the second time when he takes on Martin Murray.
Saunders hasn’t been in a ring since his November 2019 TKO win over Marcelo Coceres on the KSI vs Logan Paul undercard.

The Matchroom fighter had all but secured a huge money-making fight with Canelo Alvarez back in May before the coronavirus pandemic scuppered those plans.
And for the first time since lockdown, Saunders is back in the ring against Brit Murray.
Elsewhere on the bill, Eddie Hearn’s new signing Lerrone Richards is in action, as is potential future Saunders foe Zach Parker.
James Tennyson is also in a big WBA lightweight title eliminator with Canadian Josh O’Reilly.

Zach Parker vs Cesar Nunez (vacant WBO international super-middleweight title)

    What have the fighters said?
Saunders: “I promised Martin Murray his shot from the first time, but I was injured. People can say I pulled out because of this and that, but genuinely I was.
“The discussion with myself and Eddie [Hearn], the Canelo talk was back on — I just think that the Canelo camp didn’t want me for the style, end of. Then it was obviously the Smith fight we talked about, obviously he’s fighting Canelo now.
“So I looked down the list. Martin Murray has challenged for a world title four times, this is his fifth. There’s history there.

Murray: “I’ve been in with more fearsome punchers, but Billy Joe can obviously punch. It’s the shots you don’t see that really hurt you.

“Billy Joe is that fast and that slick that there could be a few of them. I’m not going into the fight thinking I’m invincible or will be able to walk through his power.”

What channel is Saunders vs Murray on?
You can catch Saunders vs Murray on Sky Sports Main Event on Friday, December 4.
The action will get underway from 7pm UK time, with Saunders vs Murray to get underway at around 10.15pm.
The event is available for streaming from the NOW TV or Sky Go app, both of which can be downloaded onto your mobile or tablet device. More
