Anthony Joshua fight fans WILL be allowed to drink beer while watching Kubrat Pulev clash at Wembley

ANTHONY JOSHUA toasted the return of fans who can knock back booze watching his comeback on Saturday.

And the UK fight fans who have been gasping for live blood, sweat and tears can now be ringside with drinks in their hand.
Joshua, 31, checked into the fight hotel yesterday morning before facing a Covid-19 test and 24hr quarantine while awaiting the result.
He said: “I like it, it will be intimate. It’s nice for the fans.
“It is a special occasion to watch a heavyweight championship fight among 1,000 people when normally there would be tens of thousands of people.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed fans have got the green light to knock back pints.
He said: “Yes, there will be a one-way system on the concourse.
“You will not be able to drink your beer standing around, you will take your drink and go back to your seat.
“There will also be, in the hospitality area, a pre-fight meal and then you go to your seats for the fights. Any drinking will be done in your seats.”

Joshua has been letting sparring partners pound him in preparation for his long-awaited ring return.
A year ago yesterday, the British heavyweight star jabbed and moved his way to a rematch win over Andy Ruiz Jr.
It came six months after he was dropped four times and stopped in a firefight with the flabby stand-in.
That painful first defeat — and the doubts over his chin and durability — were not quashed by a revenge mission on points.
So a return to his lethal best is desperately needed when he faces wily Kubrat Pulev at Wembley Arena on Saturday.
Joshua, 31, admits he has given heavy-handed David Adeleye, Fabio Wardley and Hosea Stewart free rein to attack him at his Sheffield training base.

Anthony Joshua offers Deontay Wilder bout ‘when he’s man enough not to lie’ and slams rival for ‘trying to tarnish’ name

ANTHONY JOSHUA says he still wants to fight Deontay Wilder – when the American is done ‘lying’.
The two boxers failed to agree an undisputed scrap over the last couple of years before Wilder was flattened in losing the WBC belt to Fury.

As he desperate tries to get the trilogy bout against the Gypsy King, Wilder revealed he ‘was offered more money to fight Joshua’ than what he was paid for Fury II.
This contradicted his earlier claims that it was Joshua who was ‘ducking’ the fight.
Understandably, AJ and his promoter Eddie Hearn launched into The Bronze Bomber now the truth was finally out.
However Joshua is still keen to get it on in the ring as long as Wilder ‘stops tarnishing his name.

Speaking on DAZN show Off The Cuff, Joshua, who defends his world titles this weekend against Kubrat Puylev, said: “He [Wilder] is another challenger.
“Offer still stands when he’s ready and he’s man enough to not lie, be real. It wasn’t nice when they were trying to tarnish my name.
“It’ll be good to get stop PR stunts and get a fight underway.”
Wilder is currently disputing Team Fury’s claims that he ‘missed the deadline’ to agree to the trilogy.

If he wins his case, it could mean the Battle of Britain between Fury and Joshua is delayed.
Meanwhile Fury is fuming at Joshua’s cheeky offer to manage him into a ‘superstar’ and raged: ‘I’m only interested in smashing your face in’.
AJ recently urged his rival to sign with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom promotion stable and his own 258 Management group.
In response, Fury – who has starred in an ITV documentary about his family and released an Xmas song with Robbie Williams – said: “Anthony Joshua, has it ever dawned on you I’m not interested in being a superstar, or famous?
“I’m a fighting man & only interested in smashing your face in, u keep the stardom, I’ll stay real, #youbigdosser I’m coming for u superstar, tick tock tick tock.”
Joshua, 31, and Fury, 32, have already verbally agreed a two-fight deal for 2021.

Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul backed by WBC president who hails YouTuber brothers for ‘working hard’

FLOYD MAYWEATHER vs Logan Paul has been given the seal of approval by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman.
The pair will clash in an exhibition boxing fight on February 20 which is set to generate millions for both men.

It means Mayweather, 43, is still waiting for his first pro fight since going 50-0 against Conor McGregor in August 2017.
Considered to be one of the greatest boxers ever, Mayweather is heavy favourite to beat YouTuber Paul.
The social media star, 25, himself has had just one professional fight, which ended in defeat to British video game YouTuber KSI last year.
It’s reckoned Paul pocketed a minimum of £1million from the clash.

But that will pale in comparison with the earnings he’ll get against Mayweather.
The veteran generates extraordinary amounts of cash for his fights, and took home nearly £7m in his last fight – a 139 seconds exhibition win over Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa two years ago
Paul isn’t the only YouTuber-turned-boxer in his family – brother Jake is 2-0 in his professional career after wins against YouTuber AnEsonGib and former NBA star Nate Robinson.
The latter was on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr, and Jake claims he pocketed an eight-figure sum as a result.

How Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul compare ahead of their fight

He is now being linked with a fight against Mayweather’s last pro opponent, UFC legend McGregor.
But despite doubts from diehard boxing fans over their credentials, the Paul brothers have both been given the thumbs up from WBC chief Sulaiman, who reckons the chance for the elder to fight Mayweather will create even more fans for the sport.
Sulaiman said: “This is going to be something good for boxing. This is going to bring millions of eyes to our sport.
“I appreciate Logan and Jake, they have worked hard. I will support Floyd vs Logan 100 per cent.”
Mayweather certainly has no qualms over taking the bout, explaining in the Fanmio press release: “This is going to be a great night for the fans worldwide as we are bringing something special to them through sports and entertainment.
“I have never shied away from doing things differently throughout my career and fighting Logan Paul in this special exhibition is just another opportunity for me to do it again.”

Paul added: “I am always searching for the ultimate challenge and it is a dream to go toe-to-toe with the greatest boxer alive.
“I am ALL IN, and on February 20th, the world could witness the greatest upset in the history of sports.”
According to the Fanmio website, early bird pricing is at $24.99 (£18.62) for the first million tickets sold.
It then rises to $39.99 (£29.80), and then to $59.99 (£44.71) starting December 29.
It will then increase to $69.99 (£52.16) for the final days of build up, starting February 11.
It is not yet clear which British broadcaster will air the exhibition.

Amir Khan shows off ‘birthday bod’ as 34-year-old gets in shape for next fight with Kell Brook bout in his sights

AMIR KHAN showed off his ‘birthday bod’ as he worked up a sweat in the boxing gym.
The 34-year-old has not fought since July last year when he battered Billy Dib out in Saudi Arabia.

Amir Khan is ready to get fight-fit for a ‘big 2021’

Khan insists he is not ready to retire, and many boxing fans will be hoping he can finally get it on in the ring against bitter rival Kell Brook.
Last month Brook’s dreams of another world title came crashing down when he was KO’d by Terence Crawford.
That means the American has stopped both Brook and Khan during his undefeated welterweight title reign.
Khan shared a snap of him topless in the ring, captioned: “Got my birthday bod ready – thank you all for the wishes.”

And in another photo Khan was stood with trainer Tony Brady on the ring apron, writing that it was ‘a big 2021’ ahead.
The Bolton boxer must have had a shave between the photos being taken as in one he sports a full beard while the other shows a clean cut.
While Khan is preparing for his ring return, he has also commented on someone else’s.
He believes old rival Floyd Mayweather is making a boxing return because he has spent all of his fortune.

The Bolton boxer is back under the stewardship of top trainer Tony Brady

The sporting world was rocked last week when it was announced ‘The Money’ would have an exhibition fight against YouTuber Logan Paul on February 20.
Brit Khan, who tirelessly chased a fight against Mayweather but to no avail, reckons the 50-0 US star could be preparing to lace up the gloves again because he is in need of another payday.
He told World Boxing News: “I mean, Floyd Mayweather, to fight again? – At the end of the day, I don’t know.
“Floyd Mayweather is one of those fighters who might have spent up (all his money) and might have to come back to the ring again.
“He spends a lot of money, but I don’t know if he’s ever going to want to come back. As I said, maybe he’s going to.”

Floyd Mayweather hilariously trolled by WWE with Big Show fight throwback after agreeing ‘strange’ Logan Paul bout

FLOYD MAYWEATHER was hilariously trolled by WWE with a throwback to his 2008 crossover fight with The Big Show.
Money Mayweather has signed a deal to come out of retirement and fight YouTuber Logan Paul, 25, in an exhibition bout on February 20 with the pair set to cash in MILLIONS.

The 50-0 man previously dabbled in wrestling 12 years ago at WrestleMania 24 and was reportedly paid in the region of £15million.
And WWE were quick to poke fun at his ‘strange’ match-up with social media sensation Paul – who lost his only pro fight to British celeb and fellow YouTuber KSI, a bout that was promoted by Matchroom supremo Eddie Hearn.
Alongside an old picture of Mayweather being dwarfed by 7ft Big Show in the ring, the organisation tweeted: “This will no longer be the strangest fight @FloydMayweather will ever been in.”
Mayweather defeated Irish UFC star Conor McGregor in a huge boxing bout in 2017.

And he knocked out kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa during a New Year’s Eve exhibition in Tokyo two years ago.
The 43-year-old pound-for-pound boxing great had previously been taunted by Big Show for his lack of punching power – despite Mayweather busting his nose.
WWE legend Chris Jericho revealed the backstory on his Talk is Jericho podcast and said: “You can hit me and I’m fine.
“I’ll be fine, and I remember when Big Show had that with Floyd Mayweather.

“He told me Mayweather hit him and Mayweather broke his nose. And Show was like, ‘I’ve had my nose broken by less.'”

How Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul compare ahead of their fight

Before the fight with Mayweather had been officially confirmed, Paul said in November that he was more than up for the challenge given his age, height and weight advantage.
He told TMZ: “Let me tell you this, if I caught Floyd in a real fight, street fight, whoop his a**e! No question.
“MMA? Octagon? Whoop his a**e!” The only place I think Floyd is safe obviously is the boxing ring, but to be honest, I don’t give a f**k! I don’t give a f**k!
“I would fight Floyd anytime, anywhere, any place. Doesn’t f*****g matter to me. I’m eight inches taller, I’m 40 pounds heavier, I’m half his age, I’m two times as hungry and ten times as smart.
“I’m used to beating up people weaker and shorter than he is. I grew up with Jake [Paul]!”

Tyson Fury slams Anthony Joshua for cheeky manager offer and rages ‘I’m only interested in smashing your face in’

TYSON FURY is fuming at Anthony Joshua’s cheeky offer to manage him into a ‘superstar’ and raged: ‘I’m only interested in smashing your face in’.

    — TYSON FURY (@Tyson_Fury) December 7, 2020

In response, Fury – who has starred in an ITV documentary about his family and released an Xmas song with Robbie Williams – said: “Anthony Joshua, has it ever dawned on you I’m not interested in being a superstar, or famous?
“I’m a fighting man & only interested in smashing your face in, u keep the stardom, I’ll stay real, #youbigdosser I’m coming for u superstar, tick tock tick tock.”
Joshua, 31, and Fury, 32, have already verbally agreed a two-fight deal for 2021.
But AJ has to first beat IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev, 39, this Saturday in front of 1,000 fans at Wembley Arena.

Fury – who is ready to face Joshua right away if Pulev is beaten – was offered a ringside seat by promoter Hearn.
And AJ went one further by even telling his rival to jump ship from Frank Warren and Top Rank to join his side of the street.
Joshua said: “I do think he should come over to Matchroom and 258 Management and let us handle his career.
“He’s a superstar in the making. With the right management he could go all the way.

“I see a lot of potential in Tyson, with the right management he could go far, so when he’s ready he can come over and we can get our fight underway.”

Fury had opened the door to face Joshua after he walked away from a trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, who he beat in February.
Wilder, 35, launched a mediation to review his case after the Gypsy King claimed their immediate rematch clause expired.
As a result, Fury will decide on whether to fight Joshua or Wilder next, depending on the result of this Saturday’s interim bout.
But it is clear unified champion AJ wants nothing but a Battle of Britain with his great rival, which he claims can lift the nation’s spirits.

In an exclusive interview with SunSport, Joshua said: “Yes, the Fury fight is the one everyone wants and it will happen, 100 per cent.
“It will be huge for the nation. I am a risk taker, I have always taken risks and never dodged fights with anyone.
“I want to be remembered as a fighter who gave the fans what they want.
“But I don’t just want to be part of a great event — I want to win another great fight.
“Everyone has been through some tough s**t this year with the virus. People have been suffering with their health and financially.
“So it will lift every boxing fan, every sports fan, when this fight happens.”

Tyson, 54, came out of retirement to take on Roy Jones Jr, 51, in an exhibition bout last month.
The highly-anticipated bout at the Staples Center in Los Angeles ended as a draw.
BT Sport Box Office showed the fight in the UK for a price of £19.95.
Social media site Triller aired the pay-per-view fight for a cost of $50 (£37) in the US.

According to RT, Triller stand to make £60m as over 1.6m fans tuned in to watch it.
Owner Ryan Kavanaugh hit out at the critics that had slated his site – which has over 100 million monthly users – before the fight.
He told BoxingScene: “Despite everyone wanting for it not to work, we upset them by changing things up and making it work and dominated the conversation.”
Tyson is reportedly set to pocket a huge £7.5m from his comeback fight.

The 54-year-old is estimated to have accrued over $300m (£224m) throughout his boxing career, but ended up losing it all.
Forbes claim his total career earnings could even have been as high as $685m (£513m).

Anthony Joshua’s loss to Ruiz Jr was ‘best thing to happen’ to him and will give him ‘edge’ over Tyson Fury, says Haye

ANTHONY JOSHUA’s stunning defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr was the “best thing thing to ever happen to him”, according to former heavyweight champion David Haye.
Ruiz turned the boxing world upside down last June by registering an emphatic stoppage victory over ‘AJ’ at Madison Square Garden.

ODDS SPECIAL 4/1 FOR JOSHUA TO WIN VIA KO, DQ OR TKOMobile only / UK and IRE, New customers only / 18+ / begambleaware.org
‘The Destroyer’ – a short-notice replacement for the disgraced Jarrell Miller – stopped the Brit in the seventh round to become Mexico’s first heavyweight champion.
Joshua exacted revenge on Ruiz six months later in Saudi Arabia, turning in a picture-perfect performance to reclaim the unified titles with a unanimous decision victory.
Joshua shed a considerable amount of muscle mass and worked extensively on the fundamentals of the sweet science in preparation for his second showdown with Ruiz, decisions that ended up paying dividends.

Although defeat to Ruiz bounced Joshua from the ranks of the unbeaten, Haye firmly believes the loss was a blessing in disguise for the 31-year-old.
The former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion told Sky Sports: “I think that was the best thing to ever happen to Anthony Joshua.
“I think he’s going to become the fighter he was always going to be, because he’s got that taste of defeat and he doesn’t like that.
‘None of us winners like that taste of defeat and if there’s anything humanly possible to get back into your winning run, no matter how hard you have to dedicate yourself, what type of sparring, what type of pain behind the scenes, you don’t want that feeling of a loss.”

Joshua will be back in action on Saturday night, defending his unified titles against Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev at the SSE Wembley Arena.
Victory over ‘The Cobra’ would see the Olympian move a huge step closer to the long-awaited Battle of Britain with WBC heavyweight king Tyson Fury.
Haye is relishing the possibility of the pair throwing down but is refusing to rule out Pulev throwing a spanner into the works.
He added: “This is a serious test for him now, Kubrat Pulev, and then it’s the big one.

“Then it’s the Tyson Fury fight and I think there is only one guy in the world who the oddsmakers will give a legitimate chance of beating Tyson Fury. That’s someone as powerful, as strong, as fast, as motivated as Anthony Joshua.
“He will be the underdog in that fight, but write Anthony Joshua off at your peril. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Anthony Joshua yet. I think over the next three years the real Anthony Joshua will come out.
“He came to boxing late. He hasn’t been boxing since he was a little kid, like Tyson Fury. He’s had to fast-track himself and there have been gaps as he’s been fast-tracking himself, so he’s now filling these gaps in.”
Should Joshua do the business against Pulev, Haye reckons he’ll have a huge mental advantage going into a showdown with Fury.
He said: “It’s been a long, long time since Tyson Fury had the taste of a loss. A very, very long time. Many years.
“Anthony Joshua knows what it feels like recently, so I think that gives him a slight edge.
‘It sounds crazy. I think that gives him an edge, because he doesn’t want to rely on his natural attributes. He wants to make sure he wins this fight.”
