Berlanga, 23, knocked Sierra down three times before the referee waved off the contest.
As a result, ‘The Chosen One’ has still never made it into the second round since turning pro in 2016.
But Berlanga is hopeful his streak will be broken as he faces better opponents.
He said: “[I want] rounds. The better competition, the better opposition we fight, I believe we’re going to get those rounds in.

“We ended 2020 with a bang. 2021 is big year for us, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Berlanga, who began boxing at the age of seven, left the amateurs with a record of 162-17.
He represented the USA in youth competition, but also has Puerto Rican heritage.
And before his latest one round demolition job, he spent time with Puerto Rican legend Tito Trinidad – a former three-weight champion.

And Berlanga revealed he was inspired after receiving a words of wisdom from the now 47-year-old.
He said: “Tito Trinidad was my idol. He still is.
“Just being with him opened up my eyes as to what boxing is about, the dedication, the focus, leaving the streets and the bad people alone.”

ANTHONY JOSHUA is set to fight Tyson Fury in May 2021 following positive talks between promoters Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum.

Joshua’s promoter Hearn is now attempting to finalise a two-fight deal with the Gypsy King’s US rep Arum – with the rematch to take place in late 2021.
He told Sky Sports: “I had a good chat with [Bob Arum] him last night. It’s positive.
“I think we’re all in the same position. We want to move forward with the fight, quickly as well, which is good news for fans.
“Just trying to solve any remaining issues of the fight, of which there aren’t many, to be honest with you, and try and move forward collectively to let the governing bodies know that we plan to stage this fight probably in May, and we would like this to be for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

“A few small issues to iron out, but I think we can start look at drawing up contracts and try to get this moving.
“Here on both sides, every member of each team wants to do this fight. We all acknowledge this is the biggest fight in boxing, this is the best fight for both guys.
“This is for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world. Why are you in the sport, if you don’t want this fight?”
Hearn has previously revealed that Joshua may have to vacate the WBO belt in order to fight Fury, with Oleksandr Usyk the mandatory challenger.

A few small issues to iron out, but I think we can start look at drawing up contracts and try to get this moving.
    Eddie Hearn

The matchroom promoter confirmed AJ is willing to fight Usyk, but that a bout against his fellow Brit is the No1 priority.
Hearn added: “We will be writing to the WBO to say you have an opportunity to be part of the biggest fight in boxing. One of the biggest fights in boxing history.
“Oleksandr Usyk is the WBO mandatory, we have to respect that, and the rules as well.

“We’ll be speaking to him to make sure he’s happy with a potential resolution.
“But for any reason Tyson Fury can’t contractually fight Anthony Joshua, AJ will fight Oleksandr Usyk next.
“For us, Usyk is a great fighter, it’s a great fight, there is only one name that we’re focusing on and that is Tyson Fury.”

Manny Pacquiao planning to fight TWICE in 2021 aged 42 as talks over showdown with UFC legend Connor McGregor cool

MANNY PACQUIAO has declared his intention to fight TWICE next year at the age of 42.
The WBA welterweight champion celebrates the milestone birthday on Thursday.

And he has big plans for 2021 amid talks of potential fights with Conor McGregor and Terrence Crawford.
Pacquiao is yet to fight since beating Keith Thurman in Las Vegas 18 months ago.
The coronavirus pandemic has seen him focus his intentions solely as a Senator in his homeland of the Philippines.
But Pacquiao, who boasts a 62-7 record, is planning to have two fights next year as he eyes a return to training after upcoming political sessions in March.

He told the Daily Tribute: “We still have sessions in March so there’s no way I am going to fight during that time.
“I think I can do two fights next year.”
A clash with UFC star McGregor could be likely once the Irishman completes his octagon comeback against Dustin Poirier next month.
Audi Attar, who represents both McGregor and Pacquiao, told Bloomberg TV: “As it relates to Pacquiao and McGregor, Conor has a fight on January 23 against Poirier.

How McGregor and Pacquiao stack up ahead of their proposed fight

“He will be handling business against Dustin first.
“Conor has come out and said he wants to fight Manny, and Manny has come out and said he wants to fight Conor.
“As I stated publicly before, we have had conversations.
“So, that is a fight we are definitely going to make because both fighters want it and there seems to be an interest from the fans all around the world.”
WBO welterweight champ Crawford is also eager to fight Pacquiao after dispatching Kell Brook last month.
He declared: “I already said who I want. I want Pacquiao, I want to revisit that fight. That was a fight that should’ve happened right now.
“But being that the pandemic happened, and they weren’t going to allow fans in the Middle East, they had to put a halt to that.
“Everything was 95 per cent done, we had the venue, the money was almost there.
“It wasn’t quit there, that was the only thing we were waiting on.”

Watch Anthony Joshua say ‘it’s good I can get Tyson Fury in the ring’ after rival’s ‘s*** himself’ jibe after Pulev win

ANTHONY JOSHUA has lashed out at Tyson Fury after his rival’s comments on Saturday night, saying: “It’s good I can get him in the ring.”
AJ, 31, put in an impressive display to KO Kubrat Pulev in the ninth round of their Wembley Arena showdown at the weekend.

The British star defended his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles against the Bulgarian.
And now Joshua will go in search of ALL the heavyweight belts in an all-British heavyweight unification bout against Fury in 2021.
Despite AJ’s impressive showing on Saturday, Fury suggested he ‘s*** himself’.
The Gypsy King, 32, said: “There you go everyone, Anthony Joshua just s*** himself on live television.

“He got asked if he wanted the fight, and he went around the bushes and put his a*** in the hedge.
“I want the fight, I want the fight next, I will knock him out inside three rounds.
“He’s a big bum dosser, can’t wait to knock him out.”
But Joshua responded in confident manner after learning of Fury’s comments.

Joshua told BBC 5 Live Sport: “That’s good to hear.
“At least I can get him in the ring… that’s all we want, right?
“So, he’s on the right track.”
When asked how he felt about being the bookies’ underdog, Joshua confidently replied: “It’s good.
“Tyson Fury is talented. He will bring out the best in me. So, that’s brilliant.
“I really feel like his confidence, the bookmakers, me studying him…
“I’ve been to Tyson Fury’s fights when he fought John McDermott when I was still an amateur.
“I went to his fight against (Derek) Chisora.
“I’ve studied him, I’ve watched him – so when I fight him it’ll be good to change those odds and put them in my favour.”

Joshua wants to earn all of the heavyweight belts with only Fury standing in his way

Joshua put in an impressive shift to get the best of Pulev within nine rounds
After his win, Joshua had previously said he would fight anyone to be the holder of every heavyweight belt.
AJ claimed: “I started this game in 2013, gathered the belts…
“Whoever has the belts I want to compete with. If that is Tyson Fury, let it be Tyson Fury.”
Joshua’s Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn added: “There has been a lot of talk, it is less talk and more action.
“We are going to be friendly, we are going to be nice. We are going to make the Fury fight straight away.
“He wants it, he is the best heavyweight in the world. It’s about legacy, and let’s get it done.”

The pair did not not hold back as their war of words continued at the pre-fight press conference.
Hunt, who ended his UFC career with a record of 13-14-1, plans to brutally knockout his rival.
He said: “This is fighting. I don’t know where he gets his ideas. He’s talking s*** again.
“I’ll put your a*** to sleep, that’s what’s going to happen. This is not footy.

“I’m going to fix you, man. I’m going to fix you good.”
Gallen, who has a boxing record of 9-0-1 including five knockouts, claimed Hunt is already making excuses.
He said: “Making excuses already – you haven’t fought for three years, haven’t boxed for 20 years.
“I’ve got no excuses. I’m going to step into the ring, I’m prepared.

“You’re just setting those little traps in case you get beat. I’ll win comfortably.”
Gallen claimed he is planning on sending Hunt into retirement once and for all.
The former New South Wales star continued: “He’s the biggest name in Australian combat sports, probably for the last 20 years.
“It’s a huge challenge for myself. A huge step up. I understand that.
“But I’m ready for it. I’m ready to take whatever Mark’s got and give back even more.
“He should have stayed in retirement. He won’t come out of it after this.”

Hunt, who last fought for the UFC in 2018, claimed it was in fact Gallen that was making excuses.
He said: “I ain’t the one calling injury, ‘Hey Mark, I can’t fight. Why? Because I’m weak a**’.”
Hunt continued to impersonate Gallen as he said: “‘I ain’t fighting Mark, I can’t fight for you, I pulled my bicep from j***ing off’.”

Mike Tyson feels ‘guilty’ over Tupac death as he ‘pressured him’ to watch his Vegas fight where rapper was killed

MIKE Tyson has revealed he feels “guilty” about Tupac Shakur’s death after “pressuring” him to come to Las Vegas to watch him fight.
The ring legend says he urged the rapper to come and see him take on Bruce Seldon at the MGM Grand on September 7, 1996.

Hours after Tyson stopped his rival in the first round, Tupac – who had a ringside seat for the big fight – was gunned down in a drive-by shooting as he headed to a gig at Club 662 in Sin City.
Rap mogul Suge Knight was in a black BMW next to Tupac when they were targeted by a mystery gunman in a suspected revenge hit.
And Tyson also revealed he was due to hook up with his pal at the nightspot but instead stayed in to look after his new baby.
In a VladTV interview, boxer Zab Judah asks the former heavyweight champ how he felt when he heard Tupac had been killed.

Tyson replied: “It was a really bad day when that happened….it was really bad.
“I felt a little guilty about him coming to the fight….me pressuring him (saying) ‘hey you wanna bring the tape, don’t forget the tape.”
The tape Tyson was referring to was the customised music to be used for his entrance to the ring.
“I was going to go out with him that night. I promised to go with him to the 662.

“But I had just had a little baby and her mother provoked me to stay at home.

Tupac was involved in a brawl at the MGM hours before he was shot
“Someone called me that night and told me what happened….and I come to me senses.
“This is what happens in my world…that was part of my world. But just because it was Tupac and I was attached to it, it was different.
“I expect someone to die after a fight or somebody to get hurt or something crazy to happen but when it happened to him at was different.”
Tupac was involved in his own fight the night Tyson stepped into the ring in Vegas.
He and his crew – some with links to LA street gang the Bloods – attacked rival Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson in the casino-hotel.
It was a brawl some believe ultimately led to the much-loved rapper’s shocking death.
Tyson and Tupac were close friends in the 1990s and the boxer received prison visits from the music star while behind bars following his conviction for rape in 1992.

He was assigned to the Indiana Youth Center, where he would regularly be visited by celebrities.
But Tyson revealed recently the most respected guest that came to see him was the hip hop legend.
He told rapper TI: “The guards didn’t like him, the inmates got rowdy and pumped up when he came which is a safety concern.
“He was a bolt of energy there. When he came in everybody knew him, he had mad respect. That’s how he lived his life, he had mad respect.”
Shakur himself served time for sexual assault after being convicted during a showcase trial in 1994.

Tyson returned to the ring in 1995 after his release, with his comeback fight against Peter McNeeley grossing £79m worldwide and selling a then record 1.52m PPV’s, equating to £51m.
Just a year later he beat Frank Bruno to win the WBC title, but then lost to Evander Holyfield before infamously biting his ear in their 1997 rematch.
Tyson retired in 2005 after losing to Kevin McBride and left the sport with a record of 50–6-2 and remains one of the most celebrated heavyweights of all time. More

Tyson Fury calls in lawyers on BBC to get him taken off Sports Personality of the Year list after ‘asking nicely’

TYSON FURY is taking legal action to get himself removed from BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year shortlist.
The boxing star destroyed Deontay Wilder back in February to claim the WBC heavyweight title after his much-publicised fight with depression.

That stunning display led to the 32-year-old being named as one of the nominees for the award – which will be decided on December 20.
But the father of five has no interest in landing the showbiz gong and asked to be removed from the voting list – declaring being the ‘People’s Champion’ is enough for him.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier, Fury explained that BBC had still not granted his ‘polite’ request to be removed.
Now he has instructed his lawyers to get to work to ensure it happens.

Fury, who also told Anthony Joshua to ‘grow a pair and sign the contract’ for their unification showdown, said: “I’ve asked nicely to be taken off the list and they’ve decided they weren’t going to take me off the list.
“So I’ve had my lawyer send them a letter demanding that I be taken off the list so let’s hope they listen and get me off that list.”
He added: “I don’t need any awards from any TV stations or organisations for me to know who I am.
“I know who I am, know what I’ve done, and I don’t need a big pat on the back and don’t need a glass trophy.

“No disrespect to anyone who wants it, but I see everyone clamouring to get on that list and I’m clamouring to get off it.
“I don’t need gratification from anybody.
“I’m the People’s Champion and the love of the people is worth more to me than everything and I don’t need an award to be celebrated in that way.”

Tyson Fury demands Anthony Joshua ‘grow a pair and sign contract big boy for biggest fight since Rumble in the Jungle’

TYSON FURY has demanded Anthony Joshua ‘grow a pair and sign the contract’ for their blockbuster heavyweight unification bout.
The Gypsy King watched AJ defeat Kubrat Pulev on Saturday with a ninth round knockout at Wembley to defend his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO titles.

Afterwards, the WBC champion took to social media and claimed Joshua ‘s*** himself’ when questioned about a bumper showdown with Fury next.
The 32-year-old has now ramped up the stakes again during an appearance on Good Morning Britain by demanding AJ pens the deal to make the fight that the world wants to see.
He said: “I watched the fight and was very impressed with what he did and then it came to the end of the fight and they did the interview, the public wanted to hear that he would fight me and he avoided the question.
“It was a bit disappointing to be honest because it’s been such a long time building up over the years and he avoided the question like he didn’t want the fight so I had to get straight on social media and make everyone know I’m willing and ready to take the fight.

“Grow a pair and sign the contract big boy.”
Speculation has mounted that the duo had verbally agreed a two-fight deal worth around half a billion quid to get it on in 2021.
However, Oleksandr Usyk is now AJ’s mandatory challenger for the WBO title – but Fury believes the Watford-born boxer would give that belt up to make the biggest fight since 1974.
Fury said: “That doesn’t sound too bad but then again I don’t believe everything I see in the paper so we’ll see what’s going to go on.

“But let’s hope this fight happens, I’m willing to take the fight, I don’t know if they are.
“I’ve been willing to take the fight for the last five years and it’s not happened so far, but I’m optimistic.”
“All of these organisations will allow this fight – it’s the biggest one since Muhammad Ali fought George Foreman at Rumble in the Jungle. It’s a massive fight.
“Oleksandr Usyk is a mandatory – but if that belt has to be vacated then I’m sure they’re going to do it to make the biggest fight of our generation.
“I’m willing, I hope he’s willing and let’s give the fans the fight they really want to see.”
Despite Joshua’s devastating knockout performance against Pulev, undefeated Fury was not that impressed.
And he believes he has more than enough to get the win over Joshua and claim ‘immortality’.

He said: “No disrespect to Kubrat Pulev, he’s nearly 40-years-old and he hasn’t had a competitive fight since he fought Klitschko in 2014.
“He hasn’t been boxing regularly against high-level opposition and at 40-years-old he’s ready to put on his carpet slippers anyway.
“I’m not just saying it because he’s a rival of mine and going to be one of my opponents – I’ve said for a long time that I do believe Anthony Joshua is tailor-made for somebody with my style.
“I think it’ll be one of the most explosive and quickest fights we are going to see and I’m aiming to take him out inside four rounds.
“I said that about Deontay Wilder and not many people listened and I’ll say it again about Anthony Joshua.
“He’s standing in my way of total supremacy of my era and he’s the only one left I haven’t beaten.
“Immortality awaits, I’m one win away from it.”
