      The Mexican start was supposed to take on Brit Billy Joe Saunders in May, but will now face 168 lbs WBA and Ring Magazine titleholder Smith instead.
      What time will Canelo vs Smith start in the UK?
      Alvarez’s long-awaited return to the ring will take place on Saturday, December 19.
      The bout should get underway in the early hours of Sunday morning in the UK, between 4.30-5am GMT.
      Coverage of the event, which includes undercard fights, will begin at around 1am.
      The fight will take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

      Who is KSI and what is his real name?

      KSI was born June 19, 1993, and is an English YouTube personality, rapper, comedian and actor.
      The 27-year-old’s real name is Olajide William “JJ” Olatunji.
      He attended the independent Berkhamsted School alongside future Sideman member and YouTube collaborator Simon Minter, better known as Miniminter.
      KSI – which stands for knowledge, strength, integrity – first arrived on the YouTube scene in 2009, originally posting videos about video games.

      CALLUM SMITH insists he is much more than a giant trying to bully little master Canelo Alvarez.
      The pre-fight photos of the 6ft 3in WBA and Ring Magazine champ towering over the Mexican by seven inches could make the Texas shootout appear a mismatch – but both weighed in at the 168lb limit on Friday.

      The pair shared an intense face-off as they squared off at the weigh-in.
      Alvarez is a four-weight king, with a world title from even higher up at light-heavy, and the biggest draw in the hurt business with judges and gamblers rarely going against him.
      The Liverpool hero also has a seven-inch reach advantage and was free to regain as much weight as he liked, after somehow squeezing his frame down to 12st on Friday.
      But the 27-0 Scouser believes he has the brain and killer instinct to go with the freakish dimensions.

      “I am not just a big lump with limited ability,” the modest champ said. “I believe I have the skills to go with it.
      “I don’t think I would be where I am now if I didn’t have the skills and ability.
      “I believe I have the skills and tactics to win and I just have to perform and do exactly what I know I can do.

      Smith’s trainer Joe Gallagher has correctly suggested his 30-year-old star student will need a miracle to get a points win over boxing’s juiciest cash cow, just two hours away from the Mexico border.
      The Brit is a little more diplomatic when discussing his chances of getting a decision where previous Canelo victims Gennady Golovkin (one draw, one win), Erislandy Lara and Austin Trout have controversially failed.
      But he would certainly prefer to trust his two heavy fists to decide the fight, instead of leaving it in the unreliable hands of three impressionable judges.
      Ahead of the clash at the San Antonio Alamodome, where 12,000 fans will be allowed, Smith said: “I believe, if I go in there and dominate and win rounds, I will get a fair shake from the judges.
      ‘I HAVE THE POWER TO HURT ANYONE’
      He added: “I always believe that, if I do land, I have the power to hurt anyone in the world.
      “I also believe I am a good finisher who can get rid of people when I have them hurt.
      “I never go in all-guns-blazing but, it is always in the back of my mind, I can be quite spiteful when I have someone hurt.
      “I have to treat Canelo Alvarez like every other fighter, I am a world champion, I believe in my own ability and I believe I can beat anyone.”
      Smith underwhelmed in his last bout against dogged southpaw John Ryder and beat a seriously depleted George Groves for his world titles in 2018, after the Saint rushed into the fight with a recently dislocated shoulder.
      The jury is still out among some of Smith’s doubters and the straight-talking star, nicknamed Mundo, wants to finally discover just how great he is for himself too.
      “I always wanted to be a world champion and I thought there would be a few rocky moments on the way.
      “But I achieved that without really knowing how good I am.

      “Canelo is the pound-for-pound for best and I want to show I can compete at that elite level.”
      Virtually-silent assassin Canelo, 30, who started his professional career aged just 15 and is already a 53-1-2 legend of the sport, is as generous with reporters as he is with his rivals.
      The no-nonsense icon said: “We know that he is tall and his boxing qualities make him dangerous.
      “But, with my experience and level, we are ready to keep taking risks and making history.
      “This will be explosive and if the KO arises then I will take it for the fans.”

      Oleksandr Usyk hints he WILL step aside for Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury for ‘once in lifetime’ unification clash

      OLEKSANDR USYK hinted he WILL step aside as WBO mandatory challenger to allow Anthony Joshua to fight Tyson Fury.
      The Ukrainian, 33, said the chance of a huge unification bout with all four heavyweight belts on the line would be a “once in a lifetime opportunity”.

      When asked if he would consider moving aside, Usyk told SunSport: “All four belts might end up in the same hands of one person.
      “It might be a once in a lifetime opportunity. We should all talk and communicate for that to happen because it is a really big event.”
      The man who unified the cruiserweight division revealed he is still chasing the Joshua fight after the Watford boxer delivered a stunning knockout against Kubrat Pulev last weekend.
      But Usyk admitted there are many factors at play in order to get the match-up signed, with calls growing louder for a £500million two-fight deal to be agreed between AJ and Fury.

      He added: “I still want to fight Anthony Joshua for the title.
      “There are many factors for this fight to happen, my team and all the participants and all their interested parties are already working on it
      “But there are still many people who wish to fight him as well, like Tyson Fury.”
      Usyk’s manager Egis Kilmas claimed that if AJ chose to vacate the WBO belt in order to fight Fury it would show he was ‘scared’ of taking on Usyk.

      Kilmas previously told BoxingScene.com: “Giving up the WBO belt means that Anthony Joshua is scared to fight Oleksandr Usyk. It means he sees a big risk fighting Oleksandr Usyk and losing.
      “That’s what it tells me. If Anthony Joshua is 100 per cent sure he can beat Oleksandr Usyk then it’s a different story. But if he is not sure, of course, he can give up the title.”
      But Usyk disagreed with his manager when speaking exclusively to SunSport and said: “No, I don’t think he would really be afraid of me.
      “Because I think if he even does vacate the belt, he might have his own reasons. With Tyson Fury he has better opportunities, I think.”
      Usyk praised British super-middleweight Callum Smith’s ‘skills’ ahead of his world title defence against Canelo Alvarez on Saturday.
      But tipped the Mexican to come out on top as he is ‘two levels’ better than his opponent – despite giving away a SEVEN INCH height advantage.

      Usyk said: “I think that in boxing everybody has a chance in a fight.
      “Of course, Smith has good skills but I think Alvarez wins over him by two levels but it is boxing and anything can happen.”
      Usyk was asked if he would ever consider moving back down the weight categories to fight pound-for-pound No1 Alvarez – who has previously competed at light-heavyweight.
      But the unbeaten Ukrainian claimed he would have to cut off his LEG to shed enough weight to make a bout possible.
      He added: “I think that I wouldn’t be capable of it. I left the cruiserweight category because it was too difficult to make the weight.
      “I would have to cut off my leg or something to fight someone like Alvarez.”

      TYSON FURY has accused Anthony Joshua of ducking questions about fighting the Gypsy King next year.

      But Joshua, 31, was coy after Saturday night’s ninth round win over Kubrat Pulev.
      Fury, 32, isn’t normally one for subtleties, and his appearance alongside Dame Joan Collins, Maya Jama and Russell Kane on the Jonathan Ross Show was no different.
      Quizzed by Ross, 60, the WBC champ said: “He was asked the question, ‘Do you want to fight Tyson Fury?’ very plain and simple, and he never answered the question.
      “It was a simple yes or no answer wasn’t it? Then they said, ‘Do you think you’re the best heavyweight in the world?’ and he went [holds hands up].

      “Didn’t answer the question. Ask me, do you want to fight Anthony Joshua?”
      Ross then duly obliged, to which Fury responded ‘Yes’, before being asked who is the world’s best heavyweight.
      Unsurprisingly, he replied: “Me, by a mile. There we go, that’s how you answer the question.”

      Paul, 23, has also challenged McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis – who he recently pelted with water balloons – to meet him inside the ring.
      McGregor has yet to respond to Paul’s barrage of call outs, a silence that appears to have prompted the outspoken YouTuber to offer Bisping a lucrative payday.
      During the latest episode of his Believe You Me podcast, Bisping said: “Jake Paul, if you want to f**king go, Logan Paul, if you want to go, then I guess you have to put your hands in your pockets and man up.
      “Because you’re talking s**t, you’re contacting my manager saying that you want to fight.

      “Well, guess what, buddy? I’m here. I’m going nowhere. You want to fight someone? You want to test yourself? Hey, I’m 0-0 as a boxer. You’re saying you’re 1-0, you’re 2-0, I’m 0-0.

      Bisping, also known as ‘The Count’, retired from MMA two-and-a-half years ago following back-to-back losses to Georges St-Pierre and Kelvin Gastelum.
      But the 41-year-old is adamant he’s still got what it takes to silence the brash Paul, who recently scored a viral KO over ex-NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition with Roy Jones Jr.

      He added: “I’m almost 42-years old, I’m a former world champion and I will take you to school, my friend.
      “And I’ll guarantee you this. You won’t get out of three rounds. That’s an absolute fact.
      “You won’t get out of one round but we’ll say three just to give you that little insurance blanket.
      “If this is a real offer, let me know and we’ll do it. 100 per cent. Logan Paul or Jake Paul, or both.”

      Bisping was from impressed by Paul’s performance in his second pro fight, saying: “In my research and infinite wisdom of the fight game and after my extensive enquiries, I figured out his a bum and he’d be very easy to beat.
      “But that said, he’s does have power, he is athletic, he is young. These are good things to have in the fight game.”
      Bisping’s comments soon came to the attention of Paul, who proceeded to mock the Brit for his UFC 100 loss to Dan Henderson.
      Alongside the infamous picture of Henderson flying through the air to land a strike on the unconscious Bisping, Paul tweeted: “@bisping my team is working on a melatonin brand deal for you and Nate [Diaz].”
