He said on Twitter: “So, let me give you a little recap of the situation.
“I’m retired, coaching wrestling, doing some podcasts, buying some Bitcoin, enjoying life. I don’t really wanna fight anybody.

“Well then, a couple weeks later, I get a couple texts and a week after that I get some calls and I get an offer.
“OK, this guy really wants to fight. Am I opposed to making some easy money? Beating up a YouTuber? Of course I’m not.
“So what do I do? ‘Sure, Jacob, I’ll fight you’. No problem. I accept publicly, on Twitter, nonetheless.
“Since then Jacob has gone silent. Jacob is kind of a coward. Sorry guys, I don’t think the fight is happening.”

But Danis, 27, is said to be out until June due to a knee injury, leaving retired pair Bisping, 41, and Askren, 36, as favourites to fight Paul next.
Askren last fought in October 2019, as he quit the octagon after consecutive losses to Jorge Masvidal and Damian Maia.

Chantelle Cameron targets Katie Taylor showdown as says bout could be as big as Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

CHANTELLE CAMERON is on a mission to have a fight as big as Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury.
Fresh off claiming her first major world title by defeating Brazil’s Adriana dos Santos Araujo for the WBC light-welterweight belt in October, Cameron is focused on one opponent in particular.

Undisputed lightweight champ Katie Taylor has long been her desired pro match-up since they met as amateurs in 2011.
As their reputations have grown, so has the clamour to see them face off again — and so much so that a potential bout is being dubbed the women’s Joshua vs Fury.
But as AJ and the Gypsy King look close to finally confirming a date in 2021, Eddie Hearn’s latest Matchroom capture is tired of chasing an uninterested Taylor.
Cameron, 29, said: “The fight is nowhere near being made. Right now, I don’t think it will ever happen.

“It is the dream fight for me and I am capable of winning it and taking her belts.
“But she won’t even acknowledge or talk about me.
“I won’t waste my energy chasing the fight she is clearly trying to avoid.
“It would be huge for women’s boxing and to even hear it compared to AJ vs Fury is great exposure for us. It would be a similar-sized fight, not just in Britain but in the world.”

Cameron is currently unbeaten in 13 professional fights, with seven knockouts.
Ireland’s Taylor, 34, has 17 pro bouts and six KOs.
But when Cameron lost on points to her as an amateur, she had just a dozen fights under her belt, compared to Taylor, who had multiple World and European Championship golds to her name.
Northampton’s Cameron added: “Of course she was going to beat me. I was a novice with very little experience.
“I am very honest, I wasn’t a great amateur. The style didn’t suit me.
“But I am a much better pro fighter — it’s a different ball game.
“Amateur Katie was untouchable but she is touchable now. She isn’t invincible.
“In the pros she is vulnerable. If you put it on her, she’s very beatable.”

Boxing has come under scrutiny in recent weeks following the revelations across sport of former professionals suffering from delayed brain traumas and early onset dementia.
England Rugby World Cup winner Steve Thompson, 42, is among a large group preparing to file a lawsuit against the RFU for failing to protect them during their careers.
Now critics and medical experts are looking at boxing.
Cameron argued: “We have brain scans every year to check there is no significant change.
“We are not getting into the ring with any damage to the brain. If there are concerns, we don’t box.
“Rugby is as intense as boxing. Sport is hard on the body if you put the training in and are competing at a high level.
“There are people who will criticise but we are looked after, mentally and physically.”

Canelo Alvarez won’t do Gennady Golovkin ‘any favours’ as coach says GGG must fight outside middleweight for first time

GENNADY GOLOVKIN has been told he must fight outside of the middleweight division for the first time to secure a Canelo Alvarez trilogy.
The rivals had a pair of thrillers at 160lb, with Canelo emerging the victor in their 2018 rematch, having escaped with a draw a year prior.

With both fights failing to crown a decisive winner, fans have clamoured for a third instalment.
But, since then, Canelo has moved up as high as light-heavyweight before settling at super-middleweight and unifying titles.
Now his trainer and manager Eddy Reynoso insists they will refuse to do GGG ‘any favours’ by forcing the Kazakh great up to 168lb.
Reynoso told BoxingScene: “Saul Alvarez is going to fight at 168 pounds moving forward.

“We’re not doing any favours to Golovkin or anybody else in coming down in weight to 160 pounds.”
Canelo, 30, has now won titles in FOUR divisions, most recently defeating Callum Smith for the WBC, WBA and Ring Magazine super-middleweight belts.
Golovkin, 38, on the other hand, has only campaigned at middleweight, and currently holds the IBF title, which had been vacated by Alvarez.
GGG returned to the ring with a stoppage victory against Kamil Szeremeta 24 hours before Canelo dominated Britain’s Smith.

Alvarez now has 90 days to defend his WBC belt against mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim, 29, with talks between the two already underway.
He is then primed to headline on Cinco de Mayo on May 5, with Golovkin, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant competing to fight the Mexican.
Reynoso confirmed Canelo is up for a third fight with arch rival Triple-G but only on his terms.
He said: “Golovkin has been fighting lower-level fighters lately. Canelo has been fighting the very best.
“We’re the A-side now. We’ll see what comes out of negotiations. We’re waiting on offers.
“We don’t have anything secured yet. We’re open to a fight with Golovkin at 168 pounds.”

Tyson Fury and wife Paris wear matching £1k Versace outfits for date night following family Christmas

TYSON FURY and wife Paris showed off his and hers £1,000 Versace outfits on a Christmas ‘date night’.
The boxing champion shared a photo on Instagram of the pair looking dapper in their expensive clobber.

Tyson is well-known for his love of a dazzling suit and of course those pink trousers.
And it seems his fashion sense is running off on his better half.
Fury has been keeping up his training over the festive season as he hopes to close in on an undisputed clash against Anthony Joshua.
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn has said that fight has been ‘verbally agreed’ but there is just the small matter of sorting out the millions of pounds to be involved.

The blockbuster bout is likely to take place between next May or June after a breakthrough in negotiations.
And of course with the UK still in the grip of coronavirus, it means that super-fight could happen abroad.
The US, Saudia Arabia and even China have been touted as possible locations.
AJ overcame his first obstacle by breezing past Kubrat Pulev last weekend while Fury remains in a legal battle with Deontay Wilder over their failed trilogy of fights.

Another obstacle preventing the deal is the fact Oleksandr Usyk is currently the mandatory challenger for AJ’s WBO belt.
Hearn has previously admitted that both fighters could ditch their belts, from the four major sanctioning bodies, if they try to block the undisputed decider.
Two days before Christmas the Gypsy King took inspiration from Dark Knight Rises villain Bane as he trained in the dark alone.
Tom Hardy’s 2012 Batman character famously told the DC hero that he was ‘born’ in the dark.
And the Gypsy King appeared to be motivated by Bane as he uploaded a video on Twitter working out in pitch black.
Fury, 32, said: “Training in the dark alone, because I was born in the dark.
“I train alone, because no one’s going to help me when I’m in there fighting for my life.”

Anthony Joshua opens up on Tyson Fury fight and says ‘I promise you it’s happening’ with purse ‘split down the middle’

ANTHONY JOSHUA is ready to split his purse to fight Tyson Fury down the middle and said: ‘I promise you it’s happening’.

And unified champion AJ is ready to share the profits with his great rival equally as he reassured fans the pair will finally share the ring.
Writing in a guest column for Boxing News, Joshua said: “How close is the Fury fight? I promise you it’s happening.
“But until you hear it from me, don’t buy into anything. I’m serious about the fight so when I announce it you’ll know it’s real.
“I’m taking my time because there has been a lot of back-and-forth for years.

“I’ve been chasing this road to ‘undisputed’ and when the time is right I’ll announce it and I’ll have my mind fully focused on the job at hand.
“When it was Deontay Wilder in my way, that was my focus and he admitted we gave him lucrative offers that he turned down.
“Now it’s Tyson Fury that’s my pure focus. The offers will be made, substantial offers.

“I’ve fought many champions before so it’s obvious to see we’ve done business with world champions before.

“It’s no different with Fury, he should take this fight with both hands. The money will be split down the middle.”
Joshua, 31, kept the Battle of Britain alive after he knocked out mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev, 39, this month.
Right after, his promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed talks had began with Fury’s camp.
WBC champ Fury, 32, has not fought since brutally dethroning Deontay Wilder, 35, in February.

And he is ready to snub a tune-up bout to instead fight Joshua, where for the first time in history the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight belts could be on the line.
But Wilder is taking legal action against the Gypsy King, believing he is still owed a trilogy bout despite his immediate rematch clause reportedly expiring in October.
And AJ faces his own headache with the WBO mandating him to fight No1 ranked contender Oleksandr Usyk next.
But the Ukrainian hinted he would step aside to allow Joshua and Fury to contest for all of the heavyweight marbles.
Usyk told SunSport: “All four belts might end up in the same hands of one person.
“It might be a once in a lifetime opportunity. We should all talk and communicate for that to happen because it is a really big event.”

Watch as Mike Tyson destroys Mark Young in 50 SECONDS in flashback to one of boxing legend’s most savage KOs

IT is 35 years to the day that Mike Tyson delivered one of the most brutal KO wins of his boxing career.
Having his FIFTEENTH fight of the year in 1985, Iron Mike destroyed Mark Young in just 50 SECONDS in their New York clash.

Mike Tyson hammered in this vicious right on Mark Young

Young was left flat on his back after the devastating right

It was also his 15th-straight stoppage win from 15 pro fights as his name started to become feared in the heavyweight division.
In fact seven of his last eight bouts had ended in the first round, and poor old Young wasn’t about to break that habit.
Young came out dancing around and swinging, and even landed some decent shots on Tyson, then aged 19.
But he was soon face-down on the canvas after a devastating right hand from Tyson.

Referee Sid Rubenstein began the count but after peering down immediately waved it off with Young out cold.
Tyson went on to record a number of similary brutal KO’s during his reign of terror in the sport.
And of course last month, at the age of 54, he made a sensational return to the sport when he fought fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in an eight-round exhibition.
The fight was scored a draw, with Tyson adamant he will continue to trade leather for the forseeable.

Young wasn’t going anywhere quick after being flattened

He is back in training again for the first time since his comeback fight.
In a clip shared on Instagram, Tyson lets his hands go with rapid speed, slipping and rolling in between, showing off smart defence.
A separate clip revealed the iconic puncher working solely on his defence, slipping several shots coming his way before bouncing on his toes.
Tyson and Jones are believed to have banked £60million for the 1.6million PPVs they sold.
And Iron Mike is ready to do it all again – keen to improve on his last performance.
