He promised to win by KO in only two rounds and insisted Davis’ reputation is on the line.
Garcia told TMZ Sports: “I’m on one mission. I’m on a mission to knock out Gervonta Davis in two rounds.
“This man will go down, two rounds – that’s a promise.
“If you do not take this next fight from me, you will not be remembered.

“Your legacy will forever be tainted if you do not accept this fight.”
Davis, 26, responded to Garcia, 22, online and appeared to confirm the fight is a done deal.
In a now deleted-tweet, he wrote: “Lol, when I ever been a bitch?!
“You know who you talked to 10 mins before ya ring walk..the fight already been made..now..shut up and get ready!”

Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis this is what you want?? Cause if it is, let the world know it’s about to go down! 🔥 #2rounds
    — Ryan Garcia (@KingRyanG) January 5, 2021

Davis has campaigned mostly at super-featherweight in his career, winning the title three times.
But he did step up to lightweight in December 2019, beating Yuriorkis Gamboa for the WBA’s secondary ‘Regular’ belt.
Davis and Garcia have long rivalled each other, and even agreed to settle their feud in sparring.
But the gym session never materialised and tempers have since boiled, with the two regularly trading words online.
The fight will need both their promoters to come together and rivalling networks to partner up.
Davis fights on Showtime under Mayweather Promotions while Garica is Oscar De La Hoya’s new star for Golden Boy, who feature on DAZN.
Mayweather has a storied past with De La Hoya, having beaten him in 2007 selling 2.4milllion pay-per-views, a record at the time.
They have worked together since, but it did not stop De La Hoya from recently calling out his fellow legend for a rematch.

Hilarious moment Mike Tyson won over every Man Utd fan by revealing he’d never even heard of Man City

MIKE TYSON won over every Manchester United fan in the world after revealing he’d never even heard of rivals City.
The boxing legend, 54, was taking part in an interview with fierce City fan Ricky Hatton on The Clare Balding Present when he announced it.

Mike Tyson struggled to believe Man City were a real team during a 2013 interview with Ricky Hatton and Clare Balding

Tyson famously posed in a Man Utd shirt during a 2000 training session in Las Vegas

And now, ahead of the Manchester clubs going toe-to-toe in their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday, Tyson’s hilarious gaffe has gone viral again.
In 2013, with Hatton talking about his family’s City roots, Tyson hilariously said: “Sorry to interrupt, what’s the difference between Manchester City and Manchester United?”
Hatton and Balding quickly attempted to explain they’re two different clubs from the same city who are ‘sworn enemies’.
A baffled Tyson continued: “I’ve been in Manchester for an extended time period and I’ve by no means heard of Manchester City.

“This if the first time I’m hearing about Manchester City.”
Tyson has previously been pictured holding a Man Utd shirt, most-famously while training in Las Vegas in 2000.
That January, Tyson fought – and beat – Julius Francis at Manchester’s MEN Arena to take his career record to 47-3.

The American boxer made his eagerly-anticipated comeback to the ring in November as he drew with fellow veteran Roy Jones Jr.

And Tyson has confirmed he plans to step back into the ring again in 2021.
During a recent Instagram Live with Patrick Mouratoglou, the Hall of Famer revealed he intends to take part in another exhibition later in the year.
When asked if he’ll lace up his gloves again, Tyson replied: “Yeah, absolutely. It’ll be better this time.”
Tyson, who retired from professional boxing in 2006, thoroughly enjoyed being back in the ring.
He added: “It was interesting. I felt really good, I felt confident. I felt that I could do it again.”
But Iron Mike has sparked rumours he could make a switch to MMA for his next fight after being filmed sparring in the octagon.
Tyson has also been turning his hand to acting again and appeared alongside Game of Thrones star The Mountain in the incredible trailer for upcoming movie Desert Strike.

Khabib was offered $100m to box Floyd Mayweather and Dana White was ‘on board’, reveals UFC star’s manager

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV was offered $100million to box Floyd Mayweather with Dana White ‘on board’, his manager revealed.
Ali Abdelaziz – who has represented Khabib throughout his UFC career – opened up about the proposal as he challenged Mayweather to take the fight.

Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports: “Listen, we got offered $100million to fight Floyd Mayweather.
“Dana White was on board, everybody was on board. But, you know, Khabib is an MMA fighter.
“If Floyd wanted to come to fight, get his little ass whooped, no problem.”

Mayweather, 43, retired as a professional in 2017 after beating former UFC champion Conor McGregor.
But it was after Nurmagomedov submitted Irishman McGregor a year later that he himself challenged the boxing legend to a fight in the ring.
Mayweather later returned for an exhibition bout against featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Tokyo, which he won in one round.
He has continued to insist he will no longer take on boxing’s best but left the door open to facing McGregor or Nurmagomedov, who are both 32.

Khabib revealed in October – before he announced his UFC retirement – that he was constantly approached with offers to fight Mayweather.

He said to Yahoo! Sports: “Always, like every month people call me and they ask me, ‘You going to fight with Floyd Mayweather if we pay you $100m.
“It’s like crazy. I want to be focussed on Justin Gaethje, please.
“Every month, some people from Saudi Arabia, from Emirates, from a lot of countries, like always try to make contract with me.”
Nurmagomedov explained that he would decline the proposal to instead stay loyal to the UFC, who prohibit fighting outside of their promotion.
But after he made the shock decision to hang up his MMA gloves, it could pave the way for the 29-0 Russian to cross over to boxing.
Meanwhile, Mayweather is set to face YouTuber Logan Paul in February, in what has been billed a ‘special exhibition fight’.

MIKE TYSON takes on Game of Thrones star The Mountain in their new movie ‘Desert Strike’.

But he will rival actor Hafthor Bjornsson – who is part of a group of evil mercenaries.
The movie was directed by Egyptian filmmaker Raouf Abd El Aziz.
It was initially released in Egypt in the summer of 2019 but is yet to go out to American audiences.
Tyson, 54, has starred in several films but only in smaller or cameo roles.

He most famously played himself in the cult comedy classic The Hangover, punching Zach Galifianakis’ character.
Bjornsson, 32, similarly has enjoyed smaller roles on the big screen despite his breakout performance in Game of Thrones.
The 6ft 9in powerhouse is equally as famous for his career as a strongman, representing Iceland across the world.
He has rivalled England’s Eddie Hall and last year broke the Brit’s deadlift world record.

Afterwards, Thor called out Hall to a boxing match with the pair now set to fight in Las Vegas this year.
At the time of filming Desert Strike – also known as Hamlet Pharaoh – Bjornsson had not embarked on his crossover to boxing.
But he may want to call on the help of iconic puncher Iron Mike, as he closes in on what is billed ‘the heaviest boxing match in history’.
Tyson himself made a remarkable return to the ring in November, drawing with Roy Jones Jr, 51, after eight exhibition rounds and plans to fight again this year.

Anthony Joshua would ‘welcome’ Tyson Fury fight at Wembley but admits location depends on coronavirus crisis

ANTHONY JOSHUA ‘would welcome’ Wembley Stadium hosting his showdown mega-fight with Tyson Fury – but admits the location is dependent on the Covid-19 pandemic.
Watford’s WBA, IBF and WBO champ jabbed and moved his way to an Andy Ruiz Jr rematch win last December and stopped Kubrat Pulev in nine rounds last month.

That cleared the way for a bumper unification showdown worth a reported £500million.
In June, Fury and AJ agreed to a 50-50 split for a first fight and a 60-40 split going to the winner for the rematch.
Boxing events in Britain have been suspended due to the latest coronavirus lockdown, with speculation mounting that the showcase could be staged abroad in the Middle East or Australia.
But Joshua insists he would be happy to climb into the ring at the national stadium if fans were cleared to return.

He told Sky Sports: “I would welcome Tyson Fury to that. I would welcome him to that all day.
“It’s brilliant for the kids of the local areas to come down. It’s like half an hour drive, a couple of hours’ drive for some of them.
“It’s a brilliant opportunity to have it here as well, but the government have got to do right by the people and protect us from this virus. I understand the situation that the country is in.”
AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn admits that clearance for a ‘full capacity’ attendance would be key to staging the fight on home turf.

Amir Khan set for talks with Eddie Hearn to finally face Kell Brook as promoter says ‘there’s still value in the fight’

AMIR KHAN is set for talks with Eddie Hearn to finally face Kell Brook as the promoter said: ‘There’s still value in the fight’.
Khan and Brook have been rivals for years but failed to seal a deal for an all-British mega-fight.

And just as it looked as though the grudge match was dead in the water, an interest has since been sparked.
It comes after Khan revealed he wanted to fight Brook this year to ‘put him in his place’ and ‘shut him up for good’.
Hearn responded by messaging the former light-welterweight champion to set up a meeting between the two.
He told iFL TV: “He never wanted to do the fight when there was so much money involved.

“Now, there’s a lot less money involved, but I’d still like to do the fight. I messaged him the other day, ‘Do you want to talk about it?’
“He said, ‘Yeah, when I’m back from Dubai. We can have a chat’. There’s still value in the fight. It’s not as big as it once was, but we’ll see.”
The domestic foes came close to agreeing a terms in 2018, only for Khan to instead face pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford at the last minute.
He went on to lose in round five, but bounced back a year later by beating Billy Dib in Saudi Arabia, but has not fought since.

Brook himself fought for Crawford’s WBO title this year, but like Khan was stopped by the unbeaten American.
The English pair, both 34, have been left staring retirement in the face, but Khan is adamant he is not yet ready to hang up the gloves.
He said to Khaleej Times: “No, no, the gloves are still on. I’m thinking of fighting probably next year.
“This year was a bit of a bad year for everybody. And boxing was off. They wanted to fight behind closed doors.
“I didn’t really feel like I could motivate myself, but hopefully, if it opens up next year, we can make something happen.
“I want to fight again around March or April and there are so many names out there, there are so many deals on the table, in the Middle East as well.
“So, let’s see how that plays out. I enjoy the sport, still. Honestly, I would be lost without it. I love waking up in the morning, training, running.
“My life is all about boxing and I’ve never really thought about retiring. It’s hard for me to walk away from it.”

Despite hanging up the gloves as a pro in 2017 after beating UFC star Conor McGregor, the 43-year-old is still in the business of making money.
A year after earning north of £300million against McGregor, Mayweather made £7m in just under two minutes against featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.
And the all-time great is ready to do it all again when he faces YouTuber Logan Paul in another exhibition bout in February.
To make sure his perfect 50-0 record stays intact, Mayweather was quick to remind fans his days as an active boxer are over.

But the chance to earn unforeseen amounts in money-spinning spectacles are too good to turn down.
Mayweather, uploading a video showing off his bling, wrote: “I retired from boxing but I didn’t retire from making money.”
The former five-division champion claims he banked over ONE BILLION DOLLARS throughout his historic career.
And he slammed critics who accused him of somehow blowing his fortune.

Mayweather said last year: “It’s crazy. You guys hear things about ‘Floyd needs money’.
“I don’t need (anything) but I don’t mind making some more money. Apple is still making billions.
“When Apple went out and made billions, they didn’t say, ‘You know what? We have already made three or four billion. Now we’re going to stop.’
“They keep on making more billions.”
Mayweather was involved in boxing’s two richest fights following the success of his wins over Manny Pacquiao, 41, and McGregor, 32.
But Fanmio, who are bringing the legend out of retirement, project they will smash PPV records with the help of social media sensation Paul, 25.

And in turn, it will mean the farcical mismatch would be the most profitable fight ever.
Solomon Engel, Founder and CEO of Fanmio, told SunSport: “We do see it breaking the record.
“We have projections which I don’t want to comment on but we do see it breaking the record.
“I can tell you we are very bullish on beating that number and possibly by a long shot.
“We have already sold a great deal of PPVs, which is kind of unheard of early on.
“We are already seeing success in that area and between the two fighters, between how we handle distribution, we do see it breaking the record.”

Love Island star Tommy Fury wants FIVE fights in 2021 with next bout pencilled in for February as dad John reveals plan

TOMMY FURY could fight as many as FIVE times this year with a plan to return in February.
The 2019 Love Island star extended his record to 4-0 in November as he took out journeyman Genadij Krajevskij in two rounds.

Tommy Fury could fight five times in 2021

Dad John Fury trains his son Tommy

Fury, 21, is trained by his dad John – father also to WBC heavyweight champion Tyson.
And the Gypsy King spoke to his old man to get an update on half brother Tommy, who is planning on a step up in opponent and activity in 2021.
John said: “He’s potentially going to fight in February sometime, all being well there’s no guarantee with the state of the world at the minute.
“He’s looking to get at least four or five fights behind him, we’ve got to step his opponents up, get him a bit better class and just see where he goes from there.

    “He’s a work in progress, he’s a kid and he’s 21.”
Despite John’s promising plan for Tommy, British boxing has been KO’d throughout January, leaving future fights up in the air.
The Board of Control have decided to block any events taking place due to the recent spike and new strain.

Thankfully for the struggling sport there was only one major show scheduled for January 30.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn had planned to hold David Avanesyan vs Josh Kelly for the European welterweight strap.
But that bout will now be rescheduled for a third time as the nation continues to fight coronavirus.
Frank Warren – who promotes Tommy – was planning to get his stable back in action at the start of February and that will have to be revisited.
