Ex-baseball star Jose Canseco accused of taking a dive in boxing match after being knocked out in just TEN SECONDS

FORMER baseball star Jose Canseco has been accused of taking a dive in a boxing match after being knocked out in TEN SECONDS.
The ex-MLB player fought Barstool Sports podcaster ‘Billy Football’ in an exhibition bout in West Virginia.

Jose Canseco has been accused of taking a dive in a boxing match after being knocked out in 10 seconds

Barstool Sports promoted the event called ‘Rough N’ Rowdy’ but immediately called Canseco out for his performance.
David Portnoy, founder of the sports and pop culture blog, took to Twitter to accuse Canseco of throwing the fight.
Portnoy tweeted: “Jose 100% took a dive.
“We paid half up front and he got double if he won. We thought that would ensure he’d fight. We were wrong.”

Barstool Sports were also forced to void all bets on Canseco winning and refunded the money to the bettors.
They wrote: “We have already voided all bets on Jose Canceso at RnR 13.
“All wagers on Billy Football will be graded a win.”
Canseco, 56, and initially began the feud by going after Jennifer Lopez’s husband Alex Hernandez.

But Billy, 22, – real name William Cotter – called out the six-time All-Star with Barstool fronting the money and promotion for the show.
Canseco has fought before, losing his MMA debut in 2009 to 7ft2 kickboxer Hong-man Choi at a DREAM event.
He claimed to have suffered a shoulder problem prior to losing against Billy, and pointed at the injury after his questionable defeat.

Paige VanZant’s opponent Britain Hart reveals her TOOTH was knocked out in brutal fight despite beating ex-UFC star

BRITAIN HART revealed Paige VanZant knocked out her TOOTH despite beating the ex-UFC star.
VanZant was outpointed on her anticipated Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut.

But she did leave her mark in the five, two-minute round bout after knocking out one of her opponent’s teeth.
Hart – who also lost a tooth against Bec Rawlings in July 2019 – made the reveal in her post-fight interview.
She said: “This is awesome. This is as big as you make it.
“Bec Rawlings knocked my teeth back in BKFC 2. Paige VanZant you knocked my teeth out.

“I made this moment about the people who believed, not the people who didn’t believe.”
Punch stats revealed VanZant threw 146 shots compared to Hart’s 150.
But the former UFC flyweight, 26, was more accurate, landing five more with 61.
In the post-fight press conference Hart – who has had 11 pro boxing bouts and four in bare-knuckle – admitted VanZant was her hardest-hitting opponent.

The 31-year-old said: “I hope the boss man fixes my teeth again. That would be nice.
“I started off with crooked teeth, then Bec helped get them really straight and Paige, credit to her.
“I’ve never been hit as hard as as Paige VanZant hits. I’ll give her that, so everyone got it right whoever said that girl’s got power.
“They were not lying, that’s the hardest I’ve ever been hit.”

The top 10 heavyweights in the world ranked, including Tyson Fury before Anthony Joshua as pair prepare for showdown

TYSON FURY and Anthony Joshua are set to finally get it on in a blockbuster heavyweight bout.
But Ring magazine – boxing’s bible – has already declared who is the division’s number one between the rivals.

That is because they say the Gypsy King – the Ring Magazine heavyweight champion – is the current ruler.
Their latest rankings put Joshua – who has agreed a two-fight series against Fury set to be held in 2021 – as the second best.
Here, we run through the top 10 according to Ring.
    1. Tyson Fury
The WBC champ comes in top trumps following his devastating win over Deontay Wilder in 2020.

Undefeated Fury has battled back from the depths of depression and addiction to reach the summit once more and can cement his position as one of the best ever if he beats Joshua.

    2. Anthony Joshua
AJ holds more heavyweight belts than Fury but his career is still recovering from that unforgettable shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.
Joshua won them all back in December but admitted to having to overcome mental demons to do so.
Last time out, Joshua knocked out Kubrat Puelv in a mandatory defence.

    2. Deontay Wilder
The Bronze Bomber was left deflated after his February defeat to Fury – having been arguably edged out in their controversial draw in December 2019, too.
Wilder, who lost his WBC crown after being convincingly beaten by Fury in their second fight, has seen his trilogy cancelled after the immediate rematch clause expired.
    3. Alexander Povetkin
The Russian and ex-WBA champ flattened Dillian Whyte with a stunning uppercut at Eddie Hearn’s Fight Camp.
It saw the Russian shoot up the rankings and earn himself the WBC’s mandatory position.
    4. Dillian Whyte
Whyte plummeted down the rankings after he was KO’d in stunning fashion by Povetkin last August – with their rematch rescheduled for March 6.
He would have earned himself a shot against the winner of Fury and Wilder had he won – but instead his career has been left in tatters.
    5. Luis Ortiz
The big-hitting Cuban recently called out Mike Tyson for a fight, before the Baddest Man on the Planet fought Roy Jones Jr in his comeback fight that ended in a draw.
Ortiz has challenged for the WBC belt twice, losing both times by KO to then-champ Wilder.
    6. Andy Ruiz Jr
The Mexican-American stunned the world after beating Joshua in seven rounds at Madison Square Garden.
Ruiz could not find anything like that form in December’s rematch and has been mostly enjoying the fruits of his labour since but has linked up with Canelo Alvarez’s trainer ahead of a return to the ring.

    7. Joseph Parker
The Kiwi has become known more for his social media shenanigans than his boxing lately.
Parker’s most recent win – his third straight – was against Shawndell Terell Winters in 2020 but it came after earlier defeats to Joshua and Whyte.
    8. Michael Hunter
Described as the “boogeyman of the heavyweight division” by Hearn, it’s not yet clear who the former Olympian Hunter will fight next.
He did offer to fight the Gypsy King for FREE, but the proposal was left unanswered.
    9. Oscar Rivas
The Colombian did fight for the vacant WBC interim heavyweight title in 2019, losing against Dillian Whyte.
He has not fought since, but was considered to be Fury’s next opponent, but at 6ft he was deemed too small.
    10. Kubrat Pulev
The Bulgarian boxed his way to be the IBF mandatory challenger for Joshua’s belt, before he was KO’d in the ninth round.
Pulev has beaten both Derek Chisora and Hughie Fury on points, with his only other loss coming against Wladimir Klitschko in 2014.

Paige VanZant shows off bruised face after brutal bare-knuckle debut but ex-UFC star left ‘humble in victory or defeat’

PAIGE VANZANT showed off her battle-scarred face following her bare-knuckle boxing debut.
The former UFC star was beaten in her highly anticipated bow at BKFC 16 as Britain Hart stole the show.

Paige VanZant addresses her BKFC loss online

But PVZ was in high spirits after the loss as she took to Instagram to accept the result graciously.
VanZant, 26, wrote: “Humble in victory. Humble in defeat.”
After the win, Hart, 31, said: “I love Paige VanZant, she was an idol to me because she was a pretty girl who could break the limits.
“I’m not a person though, I’m not. I’m a f***ing feeling and all of you guys are gonna feel it.

“I make this moment about the people who believe, not the people who don’t believe.
“This is not to my haters, this is not to the people who didn’t believe in me, this isn’t for the people who said Paige VanZant was going to win.
“This is for the people that said I could.”
PVZ was bullied in the clinch and not powerful enough with her ungloved punches to get the much-needed win.

Social media star VanZant started well, jabbing and moving far better than her unknown rival.
But Hart soon sussed that VanZant lacked the tools to hurt her and started to walk her down.
Hart dominated the second-round clinches and a welt started to grow under PVZ’s left eye.
VanZant began that fourth round with some fresh impetus but she was stunned by a little right hand that stopped her flow.
Then Hart then smashed a huge right hand into VanZant’s jaw but she somehow swallowed the meaty dig.
Hart’s corner told her, before the fifth and final two-minute round, that she was about to change her life.
And she went out and did it by surviving a late desperate barrage and getting the nod from the judges who all scored it 49-46.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury takes leap forward as Hearn reveals Gypsy King’s camp want just minor contract tweaks

ANTHONY JOSHUA vs Tyson Fury now has four Middle East bidders trying to host the biggest fight in British boxing history.
The all-English heavyweight clash for all of the four major world titles is planned for June with around £200million expected to be in the pot.

Anthony Joshua’s fight with Tyson Fury is getting closer after the first contract draft only needed ‘minor tweaks’Credit: PA:Press Association

With no fans allowed in British events in the near future, AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn and Fury’s team of Frank Warren and Bob Arum are fielding offers from countries willing to pay massive for the privilege.
Saudi paid £100m to have AJ’s December 2019 rematch win over Andy Ruiz Jr there and that sort of fee will comfortably fill the 90,000-packed Wembley void Covid-19 has created.
Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Dubai are believed to be the other three in the race and Hearn expects a deal to be confirmed this month.
The Matchroom boss said: “We expect the fight to take place in June. I wouldn’t rule out early July but June is where we want to be.

“Our plan is to start to go to various sites and close the deal.
“We have offers coming in every day from loads of places. We don’t want to waste our time seeing what is real and isn’t real until the fight is signed. End of February is a good marker to get it done and finalise a venue.
“We have actually had four offers from the Middle East now so you’d have to say there’s a very good chance of the fight taking place there.
“The offers from Saudi aren’t in the hope they can generate X million at the gate. It’s government-backed to bring the biggest fight in the world to their territory.

FREE BETS: GET OVER £2,000 IN SIGN UP OFFERS HERE

“We get multiple offers from the same country because everyone wants to make money out of this. But there are four offers from within the Middle East.”
Hearn and Team Fury exchanged the first draft of the contract last week and the Essex matchmaker was surprised how few arguments arose over the minor details.
He said: “We’ve had the contracts back from Top Rank. Nothing major, just some minor bits and pieces that have to be discussed with both parties. All moving in the right direction.
“When we put the contract together it took time because we were trying to work to a contract that wouldn’t come back with hundreds of comments and it didn’t.
“There are still minor details to iron out but we have Top Rank’s comments and are working through those now.”
Once the mega-money deal can be agreed and a venue confirmed, the minute details that are all about ego will need to be addressed.

Which giant star will have their name and face first on the poster? Who will walk to the ring first and have to wait while getting cold? Will a simple coin toss be enough to decide?
Hearn admitted: “Jokes aside, that’s not something that will necessarily be solved in one phone call.
“But it will be a discussion point over the next week or so.
“I can’t imagine a Zoom coin flip. It’s better to paper it and discuss it and come to an amicable agreement.
“For me AJ is the bigger draw globally. But, again, we are not interested in a debate where the fight falls apart because of things like that.
“We just need to box that off. In any unification fight this is always a conversation that can be arduous.”

Eddie Hearn adamant Joshua vs Fury will go ahead despite BBC investigation into Irish mob boss Daniel Kinahan

EDDIE HEARN believes the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight is not under threat following a Panorama investigation into one of the sport’s biggest powerhouses.
MTK Global, the management firm behind world champions like Fury and Billy Joe Saunders, had its origins and huge fortune examined by the BBC show on Monday night.

Eddie Hearn has insisted that Panorama’s doc will have no bearing on the summer’s mega-fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson FuryCredit: PA:Press Association

Daniel Kinahan, who co-founded the original version of the company then known as MGM, has no criminal record but has been named in the Irish high court as the head of a global cartel.
The Dubai-based Irishman parted with MTK in 2017 but has remained an advisor to a host of fighters who proudly sing his praises.
But when Fury revealed in June that Kinahan had agreed the financial terms for the two-fight AJ rivalry with Hearn, on his behalf, the backlash in the Irish media forced Fury’s Top Rank promoters to claim Kinahan had ended abruptly his interest in boxing.
The revelations in ‘Boxing and the Mob’ have now cast doubt over that statement and more investigations are expected to follow – although there is no suggestion of any criminality associated with the promoters.

When asked if the fallout from the show could jeopardise this summer’s plans for the biggest fight in British history to take place in Saudi Arabia, Hearn said: “No. No impact.
“The fight is much bigger. It’s so big it will be the only thing discussed in my opinion amongst the fans.
“Whether that’s the same for the media I don’t know. But no impact on the fight at all.
“Right now, the emails and phone calls are with Bob Arum (Fury’s US promoter) and Top Rank and Tyson Fury’s Team. He’s within his rights to appoint whoever he wants”.

FRIDAY NIGHT POKER: Play TONIGHT at 8pm to win a share of $5,500

Hearn and his Sky Sports backers work regularly with MTK, as does rival Frank Warren.
Both promoters were mentioned in the episode but Matchroom boss Hearn has felt no hangover and insists it’s business as usual.
When asked if his world had changed on a call to promote Josh Warrington’s February 13 comeback, he said: “No. My world hasn’t.
“That news broke to the boxing world quite a long time ago.
“I think it reached a bigger audience than the normal for boxing. For me, business as usual.
“We are so focused on the schedule and making the fights. From February 13 we have a show every week until the last one we are planning which is May 8”.
When Hearn was asked if any of his partners or sponsors had expressed alarm at the allegations, he said: “No”.

“My idol turned into my rival but I love him. He did a huge thing.”

Lopez, 23, has been vocal about the new wave of YouTubers turning their hand to boxing, as he lashed out online.
He tweeted: “Stop this YouTuber Boxing. Stop diminishing the sport that we’ve worked so hard for! S*** not sweet.
“In order for us to bring Boxing back to its fullest we have to fight the fights that are 50/50 competition. This is a PSA to all the promoters and fighters.

Despite the setbacks, Mayweather announced on his Instagram that he plans to focus on fighting again in 2021.
But he has always maintained in the past he will not risk his health and unbeaten 50-0 record to face boxing’s current champions or prospects.

Mayweather wrote on Instagram: “This year I will focus on several exhibitions. I will have an exhibition in Tokyo, Japan again.
“Of course the one with Logan Paul and I; and if Jake Paul can get past his next opponent Ben Askren, I will have an exhibition with him as well.
“I also heard that 50 cent would fight me but claims I’m too small. If he wants to lace up at the end of the year, we can do an exhibition then.
“I don’t care about weight class with any of these guys.
