Deontay Wilder accuses Mark Breland of spiking his water before Tyson Fury loss and accuses axed coach of betraying him

DEONTAY WILDER has accused his former coach Mark Breland of spiking his water before his defeat to Tyson Fury last February.
Following his seventh-round TKO loss to The Gypsy King, Wilder claimed his lacklustre performance was down to his water being spiked.

The American suggested Breland – who he axed for throwing in the towel – was the man responsible for the alleged drugging, a claim the former WBA welterweight champion has vehemently denied.
And The Bronze Bomber has revealed he told his head coach Jay Deas he believes Breland ‘did something to the water’.
Wilder told 78 Sports TV: “He was saying something about Jay pouring the water and s*** like that and the glove wasn’t tampered with and stuff like that, it’s crazy how you can say another man did something that we really don’t have no proof of.
“Although we know what the deal is. We know what’s up, man.

“But it ain’t really no proof, but you want to debunk something that we have all the proof and evidence of.
“It’s crazy. And I told Jay. I told Jay, ‘Man, I believe Mark did something to the water, man. Jay, I can’t believe it. He don’t want to give me the water’ and stuff like that.”

Wilder, 35, insists he wasn’t himself in his rematch with Fury, adding: I know how I felt in that ring. That wasn’t me.

“If people understood how I felt in that motherf***er and what I was able to do under all that pressure and shit that was going on with me man, they’ll look at me today and salute me every time they see me and say, ‘Champ, I don’t know how the f**k you did it.’
“But you know, people will never know. They’ll never know.”
Former WBC king Wilder was hurt by Breland’s blistering rant about his boxing career being ‘done’ and can’t fathom why he’s turned on him
He said: “It’s crazy, bro, it’s crazy. Because I had this man around me for so long. Do you know what I’m saying?
“I had him around my family, around my kids – I fed this dude.
“Even when many people thought I outgrew him, many wanted me to fire him but I kept him on board. To hear all these things that he’s saying is crazy.

“It’s like, I was the one who fed you, bro. I was the one who kept you around. He should’ve been gone a long time ago.
“But because of the love that I have – to continue to give you a job and all of that. Even after the fact of all his medical issues that he’s personally going on with himself, I still kept him around.
“For him to betray me and say crazy stuff, man, you know, it is a little hurtful.
“Only for the fact of how close I had him around family and even playing with my kids. My firstborn, he used to play with her and s**t like that.
“I can’t understand why. What the f**k did I do? What did I do but nothing but bless? And he knows what type of person I am.
“He knows I blessed him. He knows I look out for people. I keep people in their homes. Many families, even fighters.

Deontay Wilder insists he wasn’t himself in his rematch with Tyson FuryCredit: PA

“There are many fighters I keep in their homes but people will never know about it because I don’t exercise my axe enough reaching out to media and to say, ‘Hey, get this story to show the world what I’ve done or what I contribute to.’
“I don’t care about that. I don’t care about people’s, whatever, their opinions or what they say about me. I never have. I’m just one of them peoples.
“I don’t care about opinions because my actions are going to speak for it all. Before it be deeper and better of him to feel a certain type of way, it’s like, ‘Where is it all coming from?’
“Is it because of where I am in life and your career was short? It could be a jealously thing. I can’t understand where it’s coming from.
Wilder hasn’t fought since his stunning defeat to Fury last year but is in the process of trying to land a trilogy fight with the Brit, which he believes he’s contractually entitled to.

Teofimo Lopez calls on Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney to fight ‘instead of just talking about it’

TEOFIMO LOPEZ called on his rivals Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney to all fight each other ‘instead of just talking about it’.
The lightweight division is on the cusp of a golden generation with stacks of talent emerging.

Lightweight world champion Teofimo LopezCredit: Handout – Getty

Lopez, 23, is the current 135lb ruler having dethroned Vasiliy Lomachenko, 32, in a career-defining upset in 2020.
But unbeaten trio ‘Tank’ Davis, 26, Garcia, 22, Haney, 22, are all laying their claim as best in the business.
Lopez is tired of talk and desperately wants the four stars to put their money where their mouth is and secure mega-fights.
He told ESPN: “I’m the king of the group when it comes to boxing.

“Those guys have their own platforms that they use, and it’s working for them.
“It generates more for all of us when the time comes for us all to face each other. That’s what it’s all about. The lightweight division is hot right now.
“You got Garcia, Tank and Haney; hopefully, we can make these fights happen this year instead of just talking about it.”
Lopez risked his unbeaten record before he shocked Lomachenko, knocking the Ukrainian off his pound-for-pound throne.

And he wants others to follow instead of holding out and watching the biggest fights possibly pass fans by.
Lopez said: “I set the tone. That’s why we call it the Takeover. I put my 0 at risk fighting a pound-for-pound No.1 at the time in Lomachenko.
“You got to take risks. If you believe in yourself, you got to go for it. And look what happened.
“I became undisputed world champ at 23 years old; that motivated and pushed all the other fighters in that new generation.
“We’re paving the way: The 0 and that stuff doesn’t matter; it’s all about making fights for the fans.
“The difficult part is the promoters and the money. A lot of fighters want to cash out if they are putting their 0 on the line.
    “I’m a warrior. I don’t care. I trust in my abilities because I know I’ll win.”

Ryan Garcia’s trainer urges star to snub legend Manny Pacquiao and face Gervonta Davis in ‘biggest fight in boxing’

But his own coach Eddy Reynoso – who also corners Canelo Alvarez – would much rather they avoid stepping up in weight for PacMan.
Reynoso told Boxing Scene: “I really don’t like that fight.
“Manny Pacquiao has all that experience, it’s a fight at a heavier weight against bigger fighter.
“But in my role as a teacher, my job is to prepare him for these fights that he and the team accept.”

Garcia, 22, and Davis, 26, both promised they would face each other this year.
Reynoso reckons there is a far greater reward in that fight compared to against 42-year-old Pacquiao, who is coming to the end of his career.
He said: “The fight I like more is ‘Tank’ Davis.
“To me, it’s a far more interesting fight. They are at the same weight and their fight can exceed expectations.

Eddy Reynoso pictured with Ryan GarciaCredit: @caneloteam

“A fight between Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis can be the biggest fight in boxing.
“They are two of the biggest stars of this new generation. Manny Pacquiao is great, but he’s part of a past generation.
“The young fans of Ryan Garcia and young fans of Gervonta Davis are going to want to see that fight.”

Mike Tyson vs Evander Holyfield trilogy fight will make more than £73M and Iron Mike destined for KO win, says Williams

MIKE TYSON has been tipped to win his multi-million-pound trilogy fight with Evander Holyfield via a brutal knockout.
SunSport exclusively revealed the former heavyweight rivals are set to renew their decades-old rivalry in an exhibition fight later this year.

Danny Williams reckons Mike Tyson will get the better of Evander Holyfield at the third time of askingCredit: Reuters

And Danny Williams is backing Iron Mike, 54 to get the job done against Holyfield in brutal fashion.
Williams, who KO’d Tyson in 2004, told RT Sport: “Tyson, Holyfield trilogy is a great match!
“This fight will make over $100 million. Everyone is excited to see these two legends go to war again.
“I think Tyson will KO Holyfield! Tyson is looking great in sparring and pad work.”

Tyson returned to the ring last November for an exhibition against former four-weight world champion Roy Jones Jr and looked impressive in his first outing in over 15 years.
And the third instalment of Tyson vs Holyfield has been in the works since that controversial draw with Jones Jr.

But according to the former Baddest Man on the Planet’s good fried Zab Judah, the fight is a done deal.

The former IBF light welterweight champion told The Metro: “The fight is made, the fight is done, Mike Tyson versus Evander Holyfield part three, amazing.
“Everything about that fight interests me, you just got to look at one and two and there’s no doubt why you wouldn’t want to watch number three, no doubt.
“The fight is signed, sealed and delivered and Mike is training every day and Evander is training every day and both men are coming in there to do their job, they are not playing brother, there will be no playing.

“Mike Tyson versus Evander Holyfield part three, it’s going down, it’s going to be real. It’s going to be a great fight for a third time.”
SunSport revealed last month that Tyson and Holyfield’s lucrative trilogy is on course to take place in Dubai.
Judah added: “It’s going to be in Dubai, that’s what I’m hearing. That’s what the advertisement said.”
Tyson and Holyfield’s first meeting took place in November 1996, with the former undisputed cruiserweight king scoring an 11th-round TKO victory over Iron Mike.
The pair rematched a year later but the fight ended in chaos as Tyson was disqualified in the third round for biting Holyfield’s ear.
The duo have since buried the hatchet and have attended multiple functions together.

KSI needs ‘two or three’ bouts before ‘ultimate fight’ against YouTube rival Jake Paul, admits his trainer Viddal Riley

KSI will need ‘two or three’ bouts before ‘the ultimate fight’ against YouTube rival Jake Paul, his trainer Viddal Riley admitted.
Riley has cornered close friend KSI – real name Olajide William Olatunji – for his two fights.

The second was a rematch win over Jake’s brother Logan in November.
It has set KSI up with a grudge match against younger brother Jake, who is 2-0 in his own pro career and set to fight ex-UFC welterweight Ben Askren next.
With the American far more active in the ring, coach and 4-0 cruiserweight Riley revealed he wants KSI to have a few warm-up fights before risking bragging rights against Jake.
He said on his YouTube channel: “The first rule of battle is to never underestimate your opponent. I won’t underestimate Jake by any means.

“So, why would I send JJ, or advise JJ, to go straight into a fight with Jake when this guy’s sparring all the time, he’s fighting often.
“It wouldn’t make sense. So what we’re looking at realistically guys, JJ’s going to want to have 2-3 fights before stepping in the ring against Jake.
“Because, he needs that to enhance and hone his skills, to be ready for the ultimate fight that is left in this YouTube thing, which is Jake Paul.
“Why would I let him go straight into a fight with Jake?”

Jake, 24, beat KSI’s brother ‘Deji’ in an exhibition bout in 2018, the night KSI, 27, and Logan, 25, drew.
A year later KSI won the rematch by split-decision after Logan received a two-point deduction.
Since then, Jake has had two wins as a pro, both by knockout, against fellow YouTuber ‘AnEsonGib’ – who Riley trained – and ex-NBA star Nate Robinson.
And he faces retired MMA fighter Askren on April 17 – making it a trio of bouts since KSI was last in the ring.
Riley, 23, warned by the time he has prepared KSI to settle the score with Jake, it will likely be the end of 2022.
He said: “So, JJ has two-three fights, let’s say these are not bunched together, there’s a couple of months in between each fight, including the camp.
“This fight won’t even happen until earliest, and obviously the pandemic, earliest the last few months of 2022.
“Because he needs to get in there again and he needs to get used to how it feels to be a boxer.”

Josh Warrington reveals he could have easily fallen into trap of ‘nicking cars and sniffing glue’ as kid without boxing

JOSH WARRINGTON revealed without boxing he could easily have fallen into the trap of ‘nicking cars and sniffing glue’.
The featherweight, who just relinquished his IBF world title, is born and breed in Leeds while still a Whites season ticket holder.

After 48-amateur bouts Warrington turned pro in 2009 aged just 18.
And he revealed having the sweet science in his life from childhood helped him refrain from a life of crime or substance abuse.
Warrington, 30, told The High Performance Podcast: “From a young lad, as a kid growing up in Leeds on a council estate, it’s easy to fall into what everyone else is doing.
“Knicking cars, sniffing glue, you know, smoking, drinking on a Friday night.

“And, why do you not want to do that? Everyone else is doing it? Why do you want to spend your time three times a week going to a boxing gym?
“Why don’t you come play football with everyone else? As much as I would like to have played football, I just didn’t have the talent.”
Warrington was so dedicated to his craft while growing up he refused to drink alcohol and would run home after nights out.
It was all part of proving to his dad and trainer Sean O’Hagan that he determined to make a career out of boxing.

Warrington revealed: “Walked into a boxing gym and played as an energetic kid. Seven years old, grew up in the nineties watching WWF.
“Just like anything as a kid, you go through fads.
“My old feller turned around to me and said, ‘Don’t waste time. You’re wasting my time for me taking you to the gym. You’re wasting the people who’re looking after you in the gym, you’re wasting their time.’
“He said, ‘If you’re gonna do it, don’t do it. If you want to play with your mates, go fucking play with your mates.’
“If I was gonna be a boxer, then I was gonna be a boxer. I was dedicated to it then.

Josh Warrington is an avid Leeds fanCredit: Times Newspapers Ltd
“At parties on a Friday night, instead of me taking a drink, I’d take a bottle of water. I’d take a bottle of Lucozade. I’d jog home.
“That was my mentality. I didn’t want to be wasting anybody else’s time.”
Warrington, a former dental assistant, became world champion in his 27th fight, upsetting Welshman Lee Selby in 2017.
After three defences, including another career-defining win against Carl Frampton, the Yorkshire hero dropped the belt to pursue bigger fights.
Under promoter Eddie Hearn, Warrington is hoping to face America’s WBC champion Gary Russell Jr or Japanese star Can Xu, owner of the WBA’s secondary ‘Regular’ title.
Warrington, who has not boxed since beating Sofiane Takoucht in October, returns against Mexican Mauricio Lara on Saturday.

Paris Fury excited about baby gender reveal as she and Tyson sent flowers after announcing they’re expecting sixth child

PARIS FURY is struggling to contain her excitement ahead of revealing the gender of her and Tyson’s new baby.
The 32-year-old WBC heavyweight champion announced last week he and his wife, 31, were expecting their sixth child together.

Paris is struggling to contain her excitement as she thanked fans for presents and flowers since the announcement

The couple have three sons, eldest Prince John James, Prince Tyson Fury II and Prince Adonis Amaziah, who was born in 2019.
And they also have two daughters, Valencia and Venezuela – but Fury announced he is expecting a sixth with long-term partner Paris.
With the Gypsy King currently in talks to fight Anthony Joshua in a blockbuster £200m unification fight, 2021 was already promising to be an epic year.
Now it will be even more memorable for the Morecambe-based fighter and his family with their new arrival.

And Paris shared some of her excitement by posting a snap of a bunch of flowers she had received that were both blue and pink.
She captioned it on Instagram with: “Thanks for the flowers! Pink or blue? Either will do.”
Fury told Gareth A Davies last week: “Paris is pregnant again and the Lord has blessed us definitely with another child and I’m very thankful.
“Got a beautiful wife, beautiful kids, they’re all healthy. That’s the most important thing, you know, your health and your family.

“Nothing else really matters. Your job, your money, your wealth, your career, none of that really matters because you can get another job, you can start snooker or you can go make more money.
“It doesn’t really matter but the one thing you can’t get back is your family. You can’t get back time lost and that’s the crazy thing about it all.”
Despite being the highest-paid fighter of 2020 with £46million earned, the star was adamant the soon-to-be sixth-born will be just as grounded as the rest of his children.
The Gypsy King wants his children to grow up working for their fortune and has made sure to normalise their lives as much as possible.
Fury said: “For me it’s very important to stay close to my grassroots as I’ve got a lot of kids coming up, I’ve got five kids, very important for them to know the value of money.
“It’s very important for them to know how to earn money. So, if they see me splashing out all the time and living a movie stars’ lifestyle they grow up thinking that’s the only way they can live.
“To earn from a normal job, £200-300-a-week, however much they’re going to get, they might think that’s no good if they’ve been spoiled rotten by multi-millionaire parents.
“So I don’t do that. My kids don’t go to private school, I don’t have any private education, they just go to normal school, everyone does normal stuff.”

Tyson Fury urged to learn blueprint to beat Anthony Joshua by sparring ‘slim’ Andy Ruiz Jr who has lost almost two stone

TYSON FURY could boost his bid to knock out Anthony Joshua by sparring with Andy Ruiz Jr, the former champ’s trainer has said.

Mexican trainer Jorge Capetillo believes Fury, 32, would benefit from time in the gym with the Ruiz Jr, who remains the only man to beat Joshua in his pro career.
He told Sky Sports: “It would be great, for sure. That wouldn’t be an issue for either of them.
“Tyson is a world champion, Andy a former world champion. I don’t see why not.
“They don’t hold grudges, they are both willing to work.”

Capetillo added: “It would be huge for me, professional and personally, if they could share the gym, share a chat, share how their families are.
“It would be positive motivation for Andy.
“Andy knows that Tyson has also taken care of me. Andy speaks highly of Tyson. They share the same faith too.
“Andy, like Tyson, is a man of faith and family.”

Ruiz Jr, 31, famously beat AJ in June 2019 before a rematch defeat later that year.
The American has not fought since and is working hard on his return, shedding two stone off his famously chunky figure.
Capetillo has described Ruiz Jr as ‘slim’ and believes his knowledge of fighting Joshua would be invaluable to Fury.
He continued: “We all make mistakes. They have a good feeling for each other.
“This is what life is about. We make mistakes, we fall down, but we have to get up and move forwards.
“A fighter never loses because they get knocked down. They lose because they don’t get up.

“I want Andy to prove to himself that it was not a lucky shot.

“I would love to see Andy as a champion again.”
