Deontay Wilder compared to DONALD TRUMP by Bob Arum, as list of excuses for Tyson Fury loss ‘didn’t make any sense’

BOB ARUM compared Deontay Wilder to Donald Trump for his list of excuses after losing to Tyson Fury.
The Gypsy King’s co-promoter blasted the Bronze Bomber for emulating the former American president with a spurious excuses.

Bob Arum blasted Deontay Wilder for Donald Trump-style dishonesty following his loss to Tyson fury

Brit champ Fury inflicted Wilder’s first professional defeat when they clashed in the ring for the second time last February, after their initial bout ended in a draw.
And the one-sided nature of the fight led to a stream of excuses, from heavy ring-walk outfits to claims his drinking water being spiked.
The Bronze Bomber also insisted dodgy gloves allowed Fury to cut his ears with his fingernails – despite zero evidence.

Deontay Wilder has been spoiled by our former president Donald Trump who says you can say any lie, or any preposterous thing and maybe some people believe it
    Bob Arum

And Arum claimed he is buying none of Wilder’s excuses.

He told talkSPORT: “Deontay Wilder has been spoiled by our former president Donald Trump who says you can say any lie, or any preposterous thing and maybe some people believe it.
“In Trump’s case, they believed it and stormed the capital. Deontay Wilder, again, irresponsible what he’s saying, totally.
“Whether it’s about Tyson Fury, Mark Breland – a tremendous guy – Deontay Wilder is not making any sense.

“But hey, if the former president who served for four years doesn’t make sense, I mean Deontay Wilder is just another Trumpian.”
Arum claimed last month that Fury will never fight Wilder again, despite the American claiming his trilogy clause is still valid, with his focus instead on Anthony Joshua.
In an exclusive interview with SunSport, the 89-year-old claimed the all-British showdown would be the biggest heavyweight fight since Muhammad Ali versus Joe Frazier.

Watch as Tyson Fury’s sparring partner Jared Anderson KOs rival right in front of corner camera in brutal footage

JARED ANDERSON proved all his sparring sessions with Tyson Fury are paying off after landing a stunning KO of Kingsley Ibeh.
America’s top prospect took on Ibeh on Saturday night in Las Vegas and showed why there is so much hype surrounding him.

Heading into the sixth and final round, the 21-year-old landed a brutal combo which ended in a powerful left hook.
Ibeh crashed to the deck, with a ringside camera picking up stunning footage of the knockout.
His opponent’s face was battered and bruised, covered in blood as Anderson celebrated taking his record to eight consecutive wins – all of which have come as knockouts.
Anderson signed a multi-year professional contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank in September 2019.

He has fought eight times since and has been tipped to rise to the very top.
Anderson sparred with WBC Champ Fury ahead of the Gypsy King’s stunning win over Deontay Wilder and was labelled the ‘unsung hero.’
Speaking of helping Fury with his preparations, he told Sky Sports: “I was definitely not brought in to directly imitate him. I’m only 6ft 4’in so my height doesn’t match up.

“But I definitely bring a lot to the table – I will sharpen you up, make sure that you are aware of punches, make sure that you know when they are coming and know how to get out of the way.
“If you can hit me, then you’ve got some speed and technique.
“That’s our biggest point. I’m shorter, hard to hit, a little faster. That was the point made after our first sparring session. He knew that if he could hit me, he could definitely hit Wilder.”

Watch Andy Ruiz Jr hone explosive left hook that KOd Anthony Joshua as fans declare boxer looks ‘beast mode’

BOXING fans have heaped praise on Andy Ruiz Jr as the former world heavyweight champion looks to make his comeback to the ring this year.
The 31-year-old – who is expected to face Chris Arreola in the spring – posted a video on Instagram of him training, as he honed in on his brutal left hook.

It was the same punch that caused Anthony Joshua so many problems in their first encounter as he ripped away his WBA, WBO and IBF belts.
But he immediately lost his straps in his first defence as he was outpointed by AJ in Saudi Arabia, with Ruiz Jr not fighting since that night in December 2019.
He has since swapped trainers by linking up with Eddy Reynoso where he has shown off his slimmer new look ahead of his return to the squared circle.
And Ruiz Jr has confirmed he will soon be back in action, captioning his training video by stating: “We working hard, fight date coming soon.”

Fans were loving the clip, as one said: “Damn he really looking beast mode.”
Another messaged: “Dude hits like a f****** truck!!”
A third added: “There you go! Less social media and partying and more focused!”
Meanwhile one simply stated: “Ruiz looks in great shape.”

Mexican trainer Jorge Catepillo – who was in Ruiz Jr’s corner for his early fights – is desperate for the 33-2 boxer to get back to competing.
He told Sky Sports: “A fighter never loses because they get knocked down. They lose because they don’t get up.
“I want Andy to prove to himself that it was not a lucky shot.
“Because it was not lucky, let me tell you, because Joshua went down but got back up. Joshua didn’t run. But you saw what happened.
“I would love to see Andy as a champion again.”

Manny Pacquiao wants Terence Crawford as next fight in £30m deal as 42-year-old plans for ring comeback

MANNY PACQUIAO wants to challenge Terence Crawford to a fight that would net him £30million.
The Filipino icon has not boxed since July 2019 with his comeback to the ring delayed due the coronavirus pandemic.

But he will waste no time upon his return with easy fights, as he called to fight unbeaten WBO welterweight champion Crawford.
And Pacquiao has already laid out his demands to his former promoter Bob Arum, who currently works with Crawford.
He told Daily Tribune: “I’d like to fight somebody who has a title.
“We told Bob I get $40million (£32m) and Crawford gets $10 million (£7m).

“I will fight anybody. You know me, I don’t back away from any challenge. Bring ’em on.”
SunSport revealed in December that Arum had a deal in place for Crawford to fight Pacquiao in Qatar.
But Covid-19 restrictions forced the mega-money fight to be shelved.
Crawford, 33, instead beat Brit Kell Brook, 34, before the end of the year but Arum is hopeful he could now face Pacquiao, 42, or Shawn Porter, 33.

He said on Fighthype: “Shawn’s father, Kenny, came to see us, and we had preliminary discussions, and let’s see if it can happen.
“There’s also Manny Pacquiao, who has said that he wants to fight Terence Crawford.
“Let’s see if that can happen, but as far as Crawford is concerned, he’s in a good position.”
Pacquiao is yet to return having won the WBA welterweight title against Keith Thurman, 32, two years ago.
His inactivity even saw him stripped of the belt, with Cuban Yordenis Ugas, 34, elevated to champion.

PacMan was in line to welcome UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 32, back to the ring, where the Irishman lost to Floyd Mayweather, 43, in 2017.
But after he was knocked out by Dustin Poirier, 32, in their rematch, plans for a boxing match have been scrapped, with McGregor instead focusing on a trilogy fight with the US star.
Pacquiao was then linked with a fight against 22-year-old lightweight sensation Ryan Garcia.
But talks with Garcia are yet to progress, leaving PacMan exploring his options.

PREGNANT Paris Fury was pictured for the first time since the baby news as Tyson surprised her with a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner.
The pair took to social media on Sunday to give fans a glimpse of their celebrations.

Paris shared a photo with her hubby sitting down for food at their Morecambe home, with the table complete with red roses and candles.
The WBC heavyweight king appeared to go for steak and potatoes while his wife had chicken and pasta.
She wrote: “Happy valentines @gypsyking101 love you now love you always. Thanks for dinner.”
Fury also posted a snap on his timeline of the happy couple in Miami.

He also got her a mug which read: “I can’t believe I’m not bored of you yet.”
The Furys got together 16 years ago and have five children – with No6 on the way.
They have three sons, eldest Prince John James, Prince Tyson Fury II and Prince Adonis Amaziah, who was born in 2019 as well as two daughters, Valencia and Venezuela.
However, the gender of their upcoming arrival is still unknown.
The boxing icon told Gareth A Davies: “Paris is pregnant again and the Lord has blessed us definitely with another child and I’m very thankful.
“Got a beautiful wife, beautiful kids, they’re all healthy. That’s the most important thing, you know, your health and your family.
“Nothing else really matters. Your job, your money, your wealth, your career, none of that really matters because you can get another job, you can start snooker or you can go make more money.
“It doesn’t really matter but the one thing you can’t get back is your family. You can’t get back time lost and that’s the crazy thing about it all.”

Floyd Mayweather looks sharp and slick in training ahead of 44th birthday as legend prepares to face YouTuber Logan Paul

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is putting in the work ahead of his fight with YouTuber Logan Paul.
The unbeaten legend, who celebrates his 44th birthday on February 24, was filmed hitting various punch bags at one of his gyms.

Floyd Mayweather pictured during a training session

Floyd Mayweather is training to fight Logan Paul

Mayweather has 20 boxing and fitness gyms in America and paid a shock visit to one of them while surrounded by paying members.
With a mask on, he was captured going through the motions, throwing the occasional sharp and slick uppercut.
It comes as Mayweather prepares to lace up the gloves for the first time since 2018, with a scheduled exhibition against YouTuber Paul.
The spectacle bout – which will see a FOUR STONE weight difference – was set for February 20, but has since been postponed.

Paul, 25, has fought just once as a pro, losing to internet rival KSI, 27.
He lost that November 2019 fight by split-decision after having two points deducted.
Despite his farcical skill and experience disparity, Paul is at least armed with a six inch height advantage.
Mayweather officially retired as a professional in 2017 after beating ex-UFC champion Conor McGregor, 32, in ten rounds.

He returned a year later to wipe out featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in round one of their exhibition in Japan.

BET OF THE DAY: GET THE BEST FOOTBALL PRICES ON THE MARKET WITH OUR EXPERT ADVICE

Mayweather again plans to fight in Tokyo this year and called out Paul’s brother Jake, 24, and former best friend-turned rival 50 Cent.
He wrote on Instagram: “This year I will focus on several exhibitions. I will have an exhibition in Tokyo, Japan again.
“Of course the one with Logan Paul and I ; and if Jake Paul can get past his next opponent Ben Askren, I will have an exhibition with him as well.
“I also heard that 50 cent would fight me but claims I’m too small. If he wants to lace up at the end of the year, we can do an exhibition then.
“I don’t care about weight class with any of these guys.
“The Paul brothers will make great money with the events, but with 50 cent It has to be “Winner Take All”.” More

Paul broke his nose while meditating in the lead up to his last fight, where he knocked out ex-NBA point guard Nate Robinson.
The YouTuber joked the accidental injury worked in his favour as he admitted to not fearing for his looks.
Paul, 24, told SunSport: “It doesn’t worry me, there’s some great doctors out there nowadays and great dentists. I broke my nose two months ago.
“But what’s funny is that when I broke it, it actually got straighter. So it was actually more crooked before I broke it.

“I actually have a black eye right now from training and from sparring. But you know, it’s it’s it’s all it’s all part of the business and girls love.
“Girls love black eyes. So that’s, you know, it’s actually working in my benefit.”
Paul made his professional debut in 2020, as he beat internet rival ‘AnEsonGib’.
He then enhanced his knockout record to two in as many fights last November, leaving Robinson, 36, flattened in two rounds and into a meme.

Before boxing Paul, and his older brother Logan, 25, were renowned only for their viral videos and online antics.
The pair also featured as small screen stars on the Disney Channel show Bizaardvark for two years.
Paul’s next opponent, retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, was quick to mock the American for his prior career ahead of their April 17 headliner.
And Robinson too made a point of the multimillionaire’s upbringing and questioned whether he had the determination to make it as a fighter.
Paul now warned Askren, 36, that he his words can come back to haunt him, like was the case with Robinson, who was dropped THREE TIMES.
He predicted the former MMA champion will be made to look only more foolish every time he refers to him as a ‘Disney kid’.

Paul said: “You know, I think he’s doing a good job of promoting the fight and talking smack.
“You know, I’m embracing the fact that I’m a Disney teen actor.
“I’m completely embracing that I actually made a side by side comparison of my stats and his stats as as a fighter.
“You know, he’s a two time NCAA champion Olympic wrestler. He’s defeated MMA legends he has a better record than Conor McGregor.
“And me on the other hand, I put Disney actor YouTuber virgin, the list goes on.
“But this is why it’s embarrassing for him is because he’s going to get beat up by a kid who was on Disney Channel.
“So you know, he can keep on promoting that I’m a Disney actor, but when I knock him out that just gonna make him look even more stupid.”
