Inside Jake Paul’s brutal pre-fight diet as YouTube star cuts out fatty foods ahead of Ben Askren bout

YOUTUBE star Jake Paul is cutting no corners as he plots what would be the most impressive win of his fledgling boxing career.
Having already beaten AnEsonGib and former NBA star Nate Robinson, Paul is targeting a victory over former Bellator and One Championship welterweight king Ben Askren on April 17.

Askren, 36, was known in MMA as more of a grappler than a striker, leaving him heading into the ring against Paul without his best tools.
But according to Jacked Gorilla, Paul is taking nothing for granted against the seasoned combat competitor, with his disciplined diet reflecting his seriousness.
The 24-year-old begins his day with a breakfast of oatmeal and fruit.
Snacks are limited for the ripped American, with only protein shakes or even ice cubes allowed when he is in training.

For lunch, he tucks into tasty salmon and veg.
And dinner consists of chicken and salad.
True to form, Paul was spotted by Page Six insiders out for a healthy meal at The Gramercy in Florida on Sunday.
He kept his order ‘clean and light’, by opting for his trusty combo of grilled chicken and water.

But he did promise the restaurant’s management that he’d be back, victorious, to try their deviled eggs and banana split.
Askren will have something to say about that, however, having belittled Paul as a boxing ‘pretender’.
He told ESPN: “I know Jake Paul is enjoying pretending he is a fighter.
“I think on April 17 he is going to have a rude awakening to what being a fighter is really like. Jake has led a privileged life… I’m going to put his dreams to an end.”
Former UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, however, has admitted that the MMA community are ‘very nervous right now’.
He told Mike Swick: “Askren should win right, but I’m nervous about it.
“You watch him strike and it’s like the MMA world is very nervous right now that he’s gonna be.

I wouldn’t say Askren’s the better striker I think he’s just the better competitor and that’s what’s gonna win him the fight
    TJ Dillashaw

“He should win the fight. He should be smart enough.
“I mean Jake Paul is gonna get tired, he should be able to wear him out and make him lose his explosiveness and dance around and get the win.
“But I wouldn’t say Askren’s the better striker I think he’s just the better competitor and that’s what’s gonna win him the fight.
“At least I really hope so, my fingers are crossed because man, crazy.”

Boosie Badazz claims Mike Tyson would have got ‘shot’ if he touched rapper over row with his non-binary child

MIKE TYSON would have been ‘killed’ if he intervened in an argument between Boosie Badazz and Tyson’s daughter, the rapper appears to have claimed.
Badazz, real name Torrence Hatch, has been accused of transphobia over comments against Zaya Wade, the trans daughter of NBA hero Dwyane Wade.

Following the row, which the 38-year-old refused to apologise for in an appearance on Tyson’s podcast, the former champ’s non-binary daughter Ramsey confronted him.
In an interview with VladTV released this week, he appeared to claim that, had the former heavyweight champion boxer got involved, he would have been ‘shot’.
Badazz claimed: “[Tyson] was like, ‘My daughter wanna ask you some questions’.
“I said, ‘Bring her in here’. You know, I’m full of answers for questions. She asked me questions, I asked her questions. She said what she had to say, I said what I had to say.”

When asked about Iron Mike’s fear that the argument would have become physical and that Tyson would have had to intervene, he laughed and suggested the boxing legend would have got ‘killed right there’.
He added: “You think my n***** would let Mike Tyson…? It’s over.”
Tyson was praised for confronting Badazz on his Hotboxin’ podcast last year.
The ‘Wipe Me Down’ artist, who has served multiple prison sentences on drug and gun charges, was pressed on why he has berated the LGBTQ+ community.

At one point, the 54-year-old asked: “If you are a real man, then why do you offend people?”

I was worried I would have to get angry, because this is my baby.
    Mike Tyson

Following the podcast and Ramsey’s intervention, Tyson discussed the row and his fear of ensuing violence.
He told TMZ in October: “My daughter flew all the way from New York City to L.A. California where I’m at just to be there, cause she thought Boosie was so disrespectful she had to confront him.
“Could you imagine that? I said, ‘Who do you think you are, you can’t confront my guest.’ And she said, ‘You gotta talk to him, this brother’s disrespectful to the community’.
“So she came, and what they didn’t show, was she confronted him.

“I was worried I would have to get angry, because this is my baby.
“But [Badazz] conducted himself like a gentleman and it went okay. It didn’t go like I anticipated it to go.
“My daughter has a lot of courage and stuff.
“I love Boosie, Boosie is beautiful as far as I’m concerned. It’s just that, he gotta win that fight over those demons. He has to win, he can’t give into them.”

Deontay Wilder should ‘kiss Mark Breland’s backside’ for saving him from ‘terrible belting’ vs Tyson Fury, says Warren

DEONTAY WILDER should ‘kiss Mark Breland’s backside’ for saving him from Tyson Fury, according to Frank Warren.
The American’s reign as WBC heavyweight champion came to an emphatic end last February at the hands of The Gypsy King.

Frank Warren has claimed Deontay Wilder should kiss Mark Breland’s backside

Breland was fired by the Bronze Bomber and blamed for his defeat to Tyson Fury

Brit champ Fury inflicted Wilder’s first professional defeat when they clashed for the second time after their initial bout ended in a draw.
And the one-sided nature of the fight led to a stream of excuses from the Bronze Bomber.
Wilder ditched his trainer Mark Breland after the 57-year-old threw in the towel to save him from brain damage.
He has since accused him of spiking his drink before the fight – an allegation which has been vehemently denied.

Breland, who had 39 fights as a pro winning 35, described that as a ‘ludicrous allegation’ in a lengthy statement posted on Instagram.
The legendary trainer – who has been backed by Eddie Hearn – sensationally labelled the deposed heavyweight champ ‘untrainable’.

If anything he should go and kiss Mark Breland’s backside cause Mark saved him from getting a terrible belting
    Frank Warren on Deontay Wilder

And Warren has now thrown his support behind Breland as well by claiming that Wilder was saved from a savage beating against Fury.
He said: “I’m a bit disappointed cause like I said before I quite liked Deontay.

“Leading up to the fight him and Tyson were getting at it but I had quite a bit of respect for him but since the fight he’s gone down in my estimation with the rubbish he’s come out with.
“If anything he should go and kiss Mark Breland’s backside cause Mark saved him from getting a terrible belting.”
As well as pointing the finger at Breland, Wilder blamed his heavy ring-walk outfit and insisted dodgy gloves allowed Fury to cut his ears with his fingernails – despite zero evidence.

Speaking a year on from the fight, Warren has hailed the incredible win from Fury.
He told the Lockdown: “What a fabulous night and what a great job Tyson did, I mean he was phenomenal wasn’t he?
“Again he went into the fight for some reason with the majority of people as the underdog but he went in there and absolutely destroyed Deontay Wilder.
“Deontay Wilder will never be the same fighter after that and he did a fabulous job and put himself as the number one heavyweight in the world.”

Daniel Dubois given all-clear to return to boxing after horror cracked eye socket and will make ring comeback in May

DANIEL DUBOIS has been given the all-clear to return to boxing and is set to make his in-ring comeback in May.
Dynamite has been out of action since suffering a first professional defeat against Joe Joyce in November.

The 23-year-old lost his British title when The Juggernaut’s brilliant jab forced him to take a knee and be counted out in the tenth round.
Dubois’ harshest critics accused him of being a quitter who ducked out as soon as the going got tough against the 35-year-old Olympic silver winner.

And promoter Eddie Hearn even doubted early reports of the severity of the damage, a move Dubois’ matchmaker Frank Warren called ‘c***ish’.

That is despite the heavyweight suffering a cracked eye socket and bleed on retina while he was leading on the scorecards.
Dubois has since reacted by installing Mark Tibbs as his new trainer with Martin Bowers and brother Tony retaining managerial duties.
And Warren has revealed the British star is meeting the three this week to pencil in his return to the ring.
Speaking on the Lowdown, he said: “His manager is Martin Bowers and his brother Tony advises him and I understand they’re having a meeting with Mark Tibbs this week and then see what happens and see where it goes.

“I’ve spoke with him a couple of times and he got the all clear last week so now he can resume training and he’ll be out some time in May.”

Dubois himself explained earlier this month why he ditched Peacock Gym boss Bowers as his trainer in favour of moving into Tibbs’ stable.
He said: “I really need a fresh start and I need to do what is best for me really.
“Martin and Tony did a tremendous job, it was a great few years and I am very grateful, we had a fantastic journey.”

Watch Jake Paul in training to fight ex-UFC star Ben Askren as sparring partner warns YouTuber has ‘knockout power’

JAKE PAUL has been captured ramping up his training as he prepares to fight Ben Askren.
The YouTuber-turned 2-0 boxer faces the retired UFC welterweight on April 17.

Jake Paul training for his next fight against Ben Askren

Jake Paul fights Ben Askren on April 17

He has been training for his third professional bout in Miami with coach BJ Flores, a former cruiserweight contender.
Brazilian Raush Manfio, who is 11-3 in MMA, has been on hand in the internet star’s camp and sparred five rounds with Paul.
And he warned Askren, who hung up his gloves in 2019, that the social media sensation has ‘knockout power’.
Manfio told MMA Fighting: “They had a referee there, it was all very professional.

“That kid works hard. He has a whole team working with him, not a bunch of yes-men.
“He trains really hard and he’s big, so I had to be alert at all times. It wasn’t easy. We trained hard.
“I believe Ben Askren can take a punch, but Jake Paul has knockout power. “If Askren goes in there to trade hands, he’s going down. No doubt.
“He’s going down. [Paul] has a powerful right hand, and he’s getting smarter in the ring, not getting scared or stuff like that, things you learn with time.

“I’m a professional MMA fighter since 2011 and I get mature as time goes by, you understand the sport, but [Paul] has firepower and that’s crucial.”

Paul, 24, embarked on a pro boxing career in 2020 and beat online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ and then ex-NBA point guard Nate Robinson.
Askren, 36, meanwhile retired after three UFC fights citing injuries, but last year underwent a hip replacement.
Despite having vast more amount of fighting experience in MMA, the American grappler was renowned for his wrestling style.
As a result, Manfio has backed Paul to remain unbeaten – as long as he does not tire in the fight.

Jake Paul pictured with his boxing trainer Cornelius Bundrage
He said: “In my opinion, what is Askren going to do? For him to win, only if he gets Jake Paul tired.
“But how is he going to get him tired if he doesn’t have heavy hands? How is he going to hurt him?
“What is he going to do? I can only see Jake Paul winning by knockout or points, Jake Paul is far superior. I can’t see one weapon [Askren] can use.
“If he was like a Dan Henderson type of fighter with a powerful overhand, that would be a different conversation.
“[Paul] has knockout power and cardio. Meanwhile, [Askren] might have a chin but doesn’t have firepower to drop him, so I don’t see how Askren wins this match.”

In the meantime the boxing legend threw himself a 44th birthday party in Florida, and discussed his postponed exhibition upon his arrival.
Mayweather said: “Well, I’m not in training but I always try and maintain my weight and keep my body in some type of good condition.
“I’m not in the best shape of my life but I’m in good shape. I can take my shirt off at the beach.”
Mayweather recently revealed his bout with Paul was cancelled as they want a live crowd to be in attendance.

The American icon named the Las Vegas Raiders’ new NFL stadium as a potential host, as it can hold up to 80,000 fight fans.
Mayweather was quick to assure the exhibition will go ahead despite having no renewed time frame.
He said: “I know it’s going to happen. We’re just going to make sure everything’s right, everything’s where it should be.”

He did return a year later, wiping out featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in round one of an exhibition.
It was the only time the unbeaten all-time great ever boxed outside of the US and his first away from Vegas since 2005.
But he will make a comeback for a similar spectacle against internet sensation Paul.
American vlogger Paul, 25, has boxed only twice before both against online rival KSI.
The first time they drew in a white collar bout in England before turning pro for their rematch in November 2019.
KSI ended up winning by split-decision after a two point deduction cost Paul the result.
