Andy Ruiz Jr tips Anthony Joshua to LOSE blockbuster unification fight with Tyson Fury as announcement draws near

ANTHONY JOSHUA will lose his eagerly-anticipated heavyweight title unification fight with Tyson Fury, according to his former opponent Andy Ruiz Jr.
The unified heavyweight king is gearing up for the biggest fight in the history of British boxing, which is set to take place in the summer.

Fleet-footed WBC king Fury has been tipped by many to get the better of the powerful AJ, who failed to impress Ruiz Jr in his last outing against Kubrat Pulev.
The Mexican, who upset Joshua in June 2019, told Little Giant Boxing: “I think that it’s gonna be an interesting fight.
“I fought Anthony Joshua, I haven’t fought Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury has a real style, he’s tall, he fights tall.
“I kinda see Tyson Fury winning that fight.

I wasn’t too impressed with Anthony Joshua’s last performance, but he got the job done.
“I think maybe Tyson Fury might get him, depends how awkward he is.
BET OF THE DAY: BEST PRICES ON THE MARKET FOR PREMIER LEAGUE AND CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ACTION

“If he boxes – Anthony hasn’t fought anybody that boxes around and moves around, so we’ll see.”

Negotiations over Joshua vs Fury resumed after the former knocked out Pulev at Wembley Arena last December, although a two-fight deal had already been agreed.
The finer details of the contract are still being hashed out, although Joshua hinted earlier this week an announcement is imminent.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Olympic gold medallist tweeted: “Another positive meeting with @258mgt.

Another positive meeting with @258mgt. They’ve informed me things are shaping up nicely. They will be sharing the update with Eddie and you’ll be hearing from me soon 👊🏾
    — Anthony Joshua (@anthonyjoshua) February 23, 2021

“They’ve informed me things are shaping up nicely.
“They will be sharing the update with Eddie [Hearn] and you’ll be hearing from me soon.”
Joshua’s tweet echoes comments recently made by his promoter, Eddie Hearn.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told iFL TV: “To be honest with you I don’t really wanna talk about the fight because I keep saying the same thing, don’t I? ‘Two weeks, hopefully it’ll be done’.

“I don’t wanna bore people, but I said to Bob, ‘I’m getting asked about it 20 times a day in interviews, what do you want me to say?’
“So what I’ll tell you – and I don’t think we should go too deep into it – is we’ve sent the contract, we’ve had minor requests for changes which all seem a reasonable discussion.
“And hopefully it shouldn’t be too long to go before an official announcement.
“Still some work to go, but we’re close.”

Boosie Badazz claims Mike Tyson would have been ‘killed’ if he touched rapper over row with his non-binary child

MIKE TYSON would have been ‘killed’ if he intervened in an argument between Boosie Badazz and Tyson’s daughter, the rapper boasted.
Badazz, real name Torrence Hatch, has been accused of transphobia over comments against Zaya Wade, the trans daughter of NBA hero Dwyane Wade.

Following the row, which the 38-year-old refused to apologise for in an appearance on Tyson’s podcast, the former champ’s non-binary daughter Ramsey confronted him.
In an interview with VladTV released this week, he appeared to claim that, had the former heavyweight champion boxer got involved, he would have been ‘shot’.
Badazz claimed: “[Tyson] was like, ‘My daughter wanna ask you some questions’.
“I said, ‘Bring her in here’. You know, I’m full of answers for questions. She asked me questions, I asked her questions. She said what she had to say, I said what I had to say.”

When asked about Iron Mike’s fear that the argument would have become physical and that Tyson would have had to intervene, he laughed and suggested the boxing legend would have got ‘killed right there’.
Badazz also made reference to Tyson getting ‘shot’.
He added: “You think my n***** would let Mike Tyson…? It’s over.”
Tyson was praised for confronting Badazz on his Hotboxin’ podcast last year.

The ‘Wipe Me Down’ artist, who has served multiple prison sentences on drug and gun charges, was pressed on why he has berated the LGBTQ+ community.

At one point, the 54-year-old asked: “If you are a real man, then why do you offend people?”
Following the podcast and Ramsey’s intervention, Tyson discussed the row and his fear of ensuing violence.
He told TMZ in October: “My daughter flew all the way from New York City to L.A. California where I’m at just to be there, cause she thought Boosie was so disrespectful she had to confront him.
“Could you imagine that? I said, ‘Who do you think you are, you can’t confront my guest.’ And she said, ‘You gotta talk to him, this brother’s disrespectful to the community’.
“So she came, and what they didn’t show, was she confronted him.
“I was worried I would have to get angry, because this is my baby.
“But [Badazz] conducted himself like a gentleman and it went okay. It didn’t go like I anticipated it to go.
“My daughter has a lot of courage and stuff.
“I love Boosie, Boosie is beautiful as far as I’m concerned. It’s just that, he gotta win that fight over those demons. He has to win, he can’t give into them.”

The American star suffered multiple leg injuries and is currently undergoing surgery, Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg revealed after the crash.
Woods received plenty of well wishes including from fellow sports legend Tyson, the former two-time heavyweight world champion.
Tyson, 54, tweeted: “Fight @tigerwoods like the champion you are for your kids and the world. Love and prayers.”

After hearing the news, Donald Trump adviser Jason Miller revealed the ex-president made the following statement: “Get well soon, Tiger. You are a true champion!”
Alex Rodriguez, a former American baseball player also known as A-Rod, took to Twitter after news broke about Woods’ accident.
He tweeted: “Praying for my brother @TigerWoods as we all anxiously await more news. Thinking of him and his entire family.”
Speaking just minutes before a press conference, golfer Justin Thomas said he was ‘sick to his stomach’ after learning about the crash.

Thomas told reporters: “It hurts to see one of my closest friends get in an accident and I just hope he’s alright.
“I’m just worried for his kids, you know. I’m sure they’re struggling.”

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Woods was the driver of a vehicle involved in a roll-over traffic collision just after 7am local time.
Footage from the scene showed a Bentley on its side with the front of the vehicle crushed.
Woods was in the area for the Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club in the Pacific Palisades before the incident happened.
Earlier this week, David Spade posed for a photo with Woods during a golf lesson.
He also made his first public appearance just days ago after undergoing back surgery.
Woods provided an update about his condition with CBS during the final round of the Genesis Invitational.
“I’m feeling fine, little bit stiff,” Woods said. “Have one more MRI scheduled to see if the annulus has scarred over finally, and then I can start doing more activities.
“Still in the gym, still doing the mundane stuff that you have to do for rehab, the little things before you can start gravitating towards something a little more.”

Watch Logan Paul train for Floyd Mayweather as YouTuber says legend ‘putting himself in danger’ by underestimating him

LOGAN PAUL warned Floyd Mayweather is ‘putting himself in danger’ should he be underestimating the YouTuber.
The pair were scheduled to fight on February 20, but it was later backdated, with a new date yet to be announced.

YouTuber Logan Paul captured on the oads

Mayweather has since celebrated his 44th birthday and admitted he has not yet started training for the exhibition.
Paul on the other hand has been ramping up his preparation with recent footage revealing the social media star hard at work.
One clip shows the 25-year-old smashing combinations on the body belt with another going through the motions on the pads.
Paul predicts Mayweather is in for a tougher night’s work than he recognises and promises he is no gimmick challenger.

He said: “Floyd’s putting himself in danger, he really is.
“He can underestimate me all he wants but I think when we get in the ring he’s going to be in for a surprise and he’s going to be in for a serious fight.
“I’d be surprised if it didn’t worry him at least a little bit. To him he might think it’s a joke but this s***s everything to me.
“I’m not going to not take advantage of it.”

Mayweather officially retired in 2017, after sealing a perfect 50-0 record having beaten UFC star Conor McGregor in ten rounds.
He did return a year later, wiping out featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in round one of an exhibition.
It was the only time the unbeaten all-time great ever boxed outside of the US and his first away from Las Vegas since 2005.
But he will make a comeback for a similar spectacle against internet sensation Paul.
American vlogger Paul has boxed only twice before both against online rival KSI.

KSI ended up winning by split-decision after a two point deduction cost Paul the result.
Mayweather recently revealed his bout with Paul was cancelled as they want a live crowd to be in attendance.
The American icon named the Las Vegas Raiders’ new NFL stadium as a potential host, as it can hold up to 80,000 fight fans.
Mayweather was quick to assure the exhibition will go ahead despite having no renewed time frame.
He said before his birthday bash: “I know it’s going to happen. We’re just going to make sure everything’s right, everything’s where it should be.” More

Alleged drug baron Daniel Kinahan’s MTK Global group announce move into football after controversial boxing role

ALLEGED drug baron Daniel Kinahan’s management group has announced it is entering the football agency business.
MTK Football will be run by long-standing agent Danny Vincent.

But it is the Kinahan link that may make the move controversial and possibly cause potential issues for the FA.
Kinahan, publicly thanked by Tyson Fury for helping him back to the top of the boxing world, has been accused by Irish police and media and the BBC Panorama as a drug kingpin and organised crime boss in his native Dublin.
The 43-year-old Kinahan, now based in Dubai, has denied the claims, telling talkSPORT last month: “There is no evidence or proof against me.
“I have said repeatedly: I have no criminal record anywhere in the world.”

Kinahan’s MTK Global was also accused by former world featherweight champion Barry McGuigan of enticing fighters to join his stable.
MTK Football says it will “look to ensure that athletes are given the best career opportunities possible, and making sure they are secure when they eventually hang up their boots”.
Vincent said: “MTK are the biggest and best in the world when it comes to day to day management of elite fighters.
“Myself and my team are thrilled to have struck up this partnership and believe our passion and knowledge will help replicate that into the world of football.

“Our priority, as always, is to look after the footballers on and off the pitch, and we’ll continue to do this.”
Kinahan is a controversial figure in his native Ireland and the eldest son of alleged drugs kingpin, Christy “Dapper Don” Kinahan.
He helped to co-found MGM in 2012, a boxing promotion company which has since been rebranded to MTK Global.

Eddie Hearn says he was ‘a little surprised’ by the uproar over Daniel Kinahan being praised by Tyson Fury More

Jake Paul’s coach backs YouTuber to KO Dillon Danis in ONE ROUND with MMA star ’embarrassing himself’ with boxing clips

JAKE PAUL’S coach said Dillon Danis would not last a round with the YouTuber – and blasted his ’embarrassing’ boxing training.
Danis is still recovering from a knee injury and uploaded footage of himself sparring.

Dillon Danis pictured during a boxing sparring session

The 2-0 Bellator welterweight rejected the chance to face Paul in April, citing he is sidelined from fighting until the summer.
Still, the war of words between the online rivals has continued, with trainer and ex-cruiserweight contender BJ Flores now involved.
Flores, who has coached Paul since he turned pro in 2020, urged Danis to stop uploading clips of his boxing training to save himself from humiliation.
He told Khabib Nurmagomedov’s trainer Javier Mendez: “Listen to me very carefully.

“Whoever knows Dillon Danis, whoever’s friends with him, they’ve gotta tell him to stop posting videos of him punching, please. Just tell him, like please.
“Dillon, you’re trying to say you’re going to box Jake and everything yet you post these videos punching and it just shows you’re at another universe bro, you really are.
“You got a long, long way to go. He’s a great wrestler, I respect him as far as a wrestler, but his mouth and his punching are terrible… terrible.
“He won’t last one round with Jake, Javier, he won’t last one round, I’m serious.

“He keeps posting these videos of him punching and I’m like ‘bro you’re embarrassing yourself.’
“You don’t even know enough to know you’re embarrassing yourself. He’s terrible.”
Paul, 24, offered Danis, 27, the chance to settle their score this April.
But after Conor McGregor’s training partner was unable to do so, retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 36, instead accepted the fight.
Still, it has not stopped Danis from privately trying to provoke Paul’s cornerman.
Flores said: “I’d love to have Jake whoop Dillon Danis’ ass just so Dillon Danis stays out of my DMs.

“He’s always DMing me and stuff like that, like ‘Oh, BJ, blah, blah, blah.’
“I’m like, dude, you’re done bro, nobody’s listening to you, like, know what I mean?
“He’s sending me DMs and I stopped responding to the kid. I dunno, I stopped responding to him, he’s obviously not about the fight.”
Paul turned pro last January and beat internet foe ‘AnEsonGib’ – real name Ali Al-Fakhri – in one round.
He then made it two knockouts in as many fights in November as he brutally left ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 36, out cold and into a meme.
Paul then set his sights on UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 32, and even claimed he had a $50million cheque ready to go.

But after McGregor was KOd on his UFC return in January by Dustin Poirier, 32, the offer was instead retracted to just $10,000.
Paul is now hoping to face McGregor’s famous nemesis Nate Diaz, 35, who is open to the boxing match when his UFC contract – which he has two fights left on – expires.
And Flores admitted despite the bad blood with Danis, he would rather his man box Diaz or his brother Nick, 37.
He explained: “We’re going to make a statement out of Ben and then after that we’ll see what happens.
“But, Nate and Nick are great names, Dillon Danis is definitely not a great name but Nate and Nick would be an honour.
“I’d rather Jake go straight to one of those guys instead of give Dillon an opportunity because he really doesn’t deserve it.”

Josh Warrington says he will retire if he can’t beat Mauricio Lara in rematch after Mexican’s 30/1 shock win

JOSH WARRINGTON admitted he will contemplate retiring if he cannot beat Mauricio Lara in a rematch.
The former IBF featherweight champion suffered a catastrophic first loss against the 30/1 Mexican outsider this month.

Warrington’s round nine knockout defeat saw hopes of a super fight against champions Gary Russell, Emanuel Navarrete, and Can Xu go up in smoke.
Instead of focussing on another world title shot the Leeds hero is now fighting to salvage his career, having invoked his immediate rematch clause.
And Warrington, 30, knows anything but a win will likely see him prematurely hang up the gloves.
He said: “There is no f****** point hanging about.

“If I can’t beat this guy, I’m not mixing it with Gary Russell, no one is going to believe I’m going to mix it with him or Emanuel Navarrete.
“What’s the point? Maybe I could step up to super featherweight for a payday.
“I’m not prepared to do that because it’s a hard sport so if I can’t get through this guy, then it’s like: what are you going to do Josh?
“I think that goes to show how confident I am of beating him in a rematch.

“I’ve been eating Ben and Jerry’s for the past week but I’d fight him tomorrow.”

Warrington was heavily dropped in round four against underdog Lara and struggled to turn things around.
A barrage of left hooks and one clean shot clean on the chin closed the show in round nine, sending shockwaves around the empty Wembley Arena.
Warrington is used to selling out venues across Britain, mainly in Leeds with his army of Whites fans.
And the Brit, who vacated his title in January, admits to struggling without a live crowd and most importantly with the lack of heat in a crowdless arena.
Warrington explained: “It was like I was too relaxed. It was like I was having a sparring session with a novice.
“I got in the ring, I bounced off the ropes, looking at him like: “F****** hell, bless him, he’s filling a void here’.

“I’m winking at him and stuff like that, I’ve never had that mindset.
“All through fight week, I was in the mindset of: this is massive. And then when it came to fight day, I had my feet up. I was too relaxed.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn has been in a similar situation with Anthony Joshua, who was stunned by Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.
After losing his belts and unbeaten record, AJ put it all on the line just six months later but the risk paid off as he outpointed Ruiz.
Joshua, 31, is now set for an undisputed title decider against Tyson Fury, 32, this year.
But it did not stop the WBA, IBF and WBO champ from FaceTiming Warrington, to offer his advice on bouncing back from defeat.

Watch Canelo Alvarez show off blistering hand speed ahead of world title defence against rank outsider Yildirim

SAUL ALVAREZ has posted a video showing off his lightning speed ahead of his world title defence this weekend.
The 30-year-old Mexican, who is known by most in boxing as Canelo, defends his WBA and WBC super-middleweight titles against huge underdog Avni Yildirim this Saturday night in Miami.

Alvarez is widely regarded as the pound-for-pound best fighter in boxing

He has not lost any of his previous 13 fights, a run which stretches back seven and a half years

And with almost every fan around the world expecting a convincing win for Alvarez, he reinforced that belief on fight week with an impressive training video.
Canelo showed off his blistering hand speed and supreme movement as he went through the motions just days out from his swift return to the ring.
The four-weight world champion is stepping back in between the ropes just two months after dismantling Britain’s Callum Smith over 12 rounds in Texas.
In what will be the Mexican legend’s 58th fight, Canelo will be fighting in Miami for the first time since 2008 as he defends his straps at the Hard Rock Stadium.

His opponent is Turkish super-middleweight Yildirim, who was handed the world title bout despite a defeat to Anthony Dirrell in February 2019.
The 29-year-old had lost just once prior to that encounter when Chris Eubank Jr brutally knocked him out in the third round in 2017.
Few, if any, are expecting the Turkish Wolf to pose a threat to Canelo – who has lost just once since turning professional 16 years ago.

Alvarez’s only pro defeat came to Floyd Mayweather back in 2013 when he was outclassed and lost a majority decision.
Providing Canelo comes through Yildirim, he is expected to deliver another quick turnaround by facing British super-middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders in early May.
Saunders, who has been linked with a fight against Alvarez for several years, has won all 30 of his pro contests which include wins over the likes of Andy Lee, Eubank Jr and David Lemieux.
