Ex-boxing champ Junior Witter fuming after cops find cannabis factory in house he rented out

EX-boxing champ Junior Witter was fuming after cops raided a house he rented out — and found a cannabis factory.
The former WBC super lightweight title holder, 46, has owned the three-bed house since 2005.

Neighbours called the police when they noticed the patio doors had been kicked in.
Officers went in and found the remnants of a weed farm.
It is thought a rival dealer may have tried to steal the plants from the house, in Sheffield.
Angry Junior, who retired six years ago, said: “I own the property and rented it out.

“There was a break-in and now I’m just left with a lot of mess to clean up.

“I’m not happy with it at all.
“I don’t have anything to do with cannabis, so it’s right annoying.”
Police said they are investigating the drugs farm and the break-in.

Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno seem to have found peace at last and there’s genuine warmth between the pair

FRANK BRUNO and Mike Tyson’s army of fans will be delighted that, despite their traumatic lives, they seem to have found peace of mind as they approach old age.
The ex-heavyweight champions, who had two ferocious fights, met up for the first time in 25 years in Miami a couple of months ago.

Former title rivals Mike Tyson and Frank Bruno met for the first time in 25 yearsCredit: Sky

Their equivalent of a friendly fireside chat took place in the palatial surroundings at Tyson’s holiday home and is the basis of an absorbing 90-minute Sky documentary.
Having covered their careers from the beginning to the end and spending a considerable amount of time reporting on their out-of-the-ring problems it did my heart good to see them both looking so well.
They are now in their fifties and what comes across as they shared a sofa is that — not only were they comfortable in each other’s company — but also there is a genuine warmth and respect between them.
There are exceptions but that is usually the case between fighters who have spilt blood together in brutal battles.

Mike, who used to revel in being known as the Baddest Man on the Planet, has clearly mellowed and is now more like a cuddly bear. Frank certainly hasn’t changed. He is a laidback and endearing gentle giant outside of business hours.
Anyone who knows nothing about boxing and tunes would never guess they used to ruthlessly beat men up for a living.
During their light-hearted conversation, I expected them to suddenly proudly start showing pictures of their children and grandchildren.
They hardly talked about boxing — more interested in touching on the hardships and adversity they had overcome.

As Tyson pointed out, Frank may have been to one mental facility but he has been around ten of them.
They were reunited at Bruno’s request. Ben Hirsch, the talented director of the documentary, said: “Frank was keen to do it not just for entertainment purposes — but because there was unfinished business.
“They hadn’t had a proper chat since their second fight which ended Frank’s career.”
Most of Hirsch’s film is taken up with the background and build-up to to the fights in Las Vegas, seven years apart.

When Bruno, who was the challenger, arrived in Vegas from his Arizona training camp for the first one in 1989, he was dreadfully homesick and extremely tense.
Terry Lawless, his worried and desperate manager, knew he somehow had to get Bruno to get rid of his tension.
Secretly, he got Dr David Silverman, the famous Vegas psychiatrist who treated the showbusiness stars of the Strip, to help Frank relax.
I got to hear of it and broke the story in SunSport that Bruno was having hypnosis.
Dr Silverman even put Bruno under in the dressing room before he went out to challenge Tyson for his title.
Not that it did any good. Frank was out on his feet after Tyson’s fifth-round barrage.

In 1996, Bruno was the defending champion. Knowing what he was about to face, he crossed himself so many times during the ringwalk that I remarked that he looked like a man walking to the gallows.
He was battered to defeat in the third round.
Tyson will go down in history as one of the great world heavyweight champions.
Bruno, as popular in Britain today as in his heyday, will always be the most lovable.

Joseph Parker wants to KO Chisora in England before facing winner of Usyk vs Joyce and regaining heavyweight world title

JOSEPH PARKER wants to knock out Derek Chisora in England before defeating the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Joe Joyce as he plots his return to the top of the world.
The former WBO champion, 28, lost his title to Anthony Joshua in March 2018.

Now he has outlined his plans for an exciting 2021 and an attempt to climb back to the upper echelons of the heavyweight division – although the New Zealander’s first task is to get past Junior Fa in Auckland on Saturday.
A victory would set-up a rescheduled clash against Chisora after their original 2019 clash was cancelled when Parker suffered a spider bite.
Usyk and Joyce are already in talks about a WBO interim title fight.
And Parker says he is being lined up to face the winner of that, telling Sky Sports: “I’m open to fighting anyone, but with the talks from my promoter, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom and with [manager] David Higgins, they’ve got a clear pathway for me this year.

“Take care of Junior, then fighting Chisora, then fighting the winner of Usyk and Joyce.
“There is a path and it’s quite exciting that there’s a path, because a lot of fighters want to know what they’re going to do after their next fight. But again, the focus is on Junior because if I don’t get past him, there’s no point even looking at those fights.”
Parker has only lost two of his 29 career fights, with both of these setbacks coming on British soil courtesy of AJ and Dillian Whyte.

However, he is relishing the prospect of potentially heading back to England this summer to face Chisora once crowds are allowed back.
Parker added: “I love the UK. I love the media, the respect, so welcoming to our team. We’ve gained a lot of friends and supporters there.
“In a perfect world, I’d love to take care of business on Saturday then come to the UK and take care of business, then not far off that, fight for the world title.”

Andy Ruiz Jr shows off incredible body transformation as Anthony Joshua’s conqueror sheds weight after changing trainer

ANDY RUIZ JR has proudly shown off his incredible body transformation on Instagram.
The Mexican-American fighter, 31, hasn’t set foot in the ring since his loss to Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia in December 2019.

That night, Ruiz tipped the scales at a monster 20st 3lbs after admitting a weakness for Snickers bars.
But Ruiz is now putting in the hard graft in gym with a fight against Chris Arreola in the spring on the cards.
In the build-up to the proposed fight, the California-born boxer has switched trainers and has now been taken under Eddy Reynoso’s wing.
And Ruiz showed off his leaner physique in a short video on Instagram.

Filmed from a flattering angle above his own head, he captioned the clip: “Workout done.”
It’s not the first time Ruiz has left fans’ jaws on the floor with his workout videos.
Just last week, the boxer – who beat AJ in their first fight in New York in June 2019 – showed off his brutal left hook.
It was the same punch that caused Joshua so many problems in their first encounter as he ripped away his WBA, WBO and IBF belts.

Ruiz also confirmed he will soon be back in action.
He captioning the training video: “We working hard, fight date coming soon.”
Last month, Ruiz even admitted he hopes to have a third and final fight with Joshua having won the first and lost the rematch.
Ruiz claimed: “I’d like to fight the rematch again, the third fight with Anthony Joshua, and either between Wilder and Tyson Fury.
“Nobody thought I’d be champion of the world with the way I looked.
“I want to get back at it and be the man I’m supposed to be.
“And I don’t have a fight date yet, but I’m for sure going to fight this year.
“I just want to be in shape and show everybody… this little chubby boy is going to look good.”

But Mexican trainer Jorge Catepillo – who was in Ruiz Jr’s corner for his early fights – is just desperate for the 33-2 boxer to get back to competing.
He told Sky Sports: “A fighter never loses because they get knocked down. They lose because they don’t get up.
“I want Andy to prove to himself that it was not a lucky shot.
“Because it was not lucky, let me tell you, because Joshua went down but got back up.
“Joshua didn’t run. But you saw what happened.
“I would love to see Andy as a champion again.”

KO king Mike Tyson only FOURTH hardest hitter Frank Bruno was ever punched by with No1 a convicted murderer

MIKE TYSON was only the FOURTH hardest hitter Frank Bruno was every punched by – with a convicted murderer top of the list.
The 59-year-old heavyweight hero, who won the WBC world title in an iconic fourth attempt, was twice stopped on his feet against the Baddest Man on the Planet.

Frank Bruno, right, pictured with fellow heavyweight legend Mike Tyson

But Tyson was only 22 when the pair first met in 1989 and, by the time they rematched in 1996, had served a three-year prison term.
So Bruno lists Floyd ‘Jumbo’ Cummings, James ‘Bonecrusher’ Smith and Tim ‘Terrible’ Witherspoon as the three giants who all hit harder than the boxing superstar who burned out too early.
When asked if Tyson’s infamous hooks and uppercuts were the hardest shots he ever shipped, the national treasure told SunSport: “In the first fight with Tyson, I was knocked down in the first round but that was down to nerves.
“When I was stopped in the fifth, I could have taken a knee and maybe carried on but I never wanted to do that.

“I don’t think Mike Tyson was the hardest single puncher I was ever hit by.
“Floyd ‘Jumbo’ Cummings hit me very hard, Witherspoon and Smith too. No disrespect to Mike but they were bigger full-grown men.
“They all hit a bit differently but they all hurt – a lot.
“Jumbo Cummings was the hardest one because he caught me round the temple and I didn’t know if I was flying on Concorde or in second class on a train.”

Frank Bruno takes a fierce right hook from Floyd CummingsCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Bruno retired Cummings with a 1983 KO but only after the heavy-handed American – who only turned pro aged 29 after serving 12 years for MURDER – almost stunned him with a first-round right hand.
Right on the bell, Cummings landed and Bruno’s body went into spasm, hands dropping to his waist and legs stiffening into a stumble of a dance.
Cummings had only won one of his previous sevens fights but looked to have beaten the UK’s hottest prospect until he managed to rally and win in the seventh.
Bruno got to 20-0 and then invited Bonecrusher Smith over from America – Smith had suffered an embarrassing KO defeat on his debut but resurrected his career.
In the final three minutes of a ten-rounder, 13-1 Smith landed a left hook that again stunned Bruno and he was swiftly floored and counted out.
The Wembley Arena upset meant Smith faced ring legend Larry Holmes for the IBF world title six months later, snatching the shot from gutted Bruno.
The Wandsworth warrior then put seven consecutive wins together, including the European title, and got a crack at the WBA belt against Witherspoon and again he left the heartbreak agonisingly late.

‘Terrible Tim’ was simply too good that 1986 night and, while ahead on all three cards despite being the away fighter, Witherspoon detonated a lopping right hand in the eleventh that collapsed Bruno into the floor.
Thankfully for the too-brave-for-his-own-good ace, trainer Terry Lawless threw the towel in and saved Bruno for another day that would eventually come against Oliver McCall in 1995 when he clinched the green and gold belt.
Tyson snatched that hard-earned belt off of Bruno just six months later but he selflessly only went into the battle to make money to provide for his young family.

Canelo Alvarez made just £15 from his pro boxing debut aged FIFTEEN ahead of Avni Yildirim world title fight

BOXING’S biggest superstar Canelo Alvarez earned barely £15 for his first professional fight.
The Mexican sensation – who signed a £278million 11-fight deal with broadcasters DAZN in 2018 that failed to survive the pandemic – turned pro aged just 15.

So much has changed for Canelo Alvarez, left, in his 15-year pro career as he prepares to defend his WBA and WBC crowns against Avni Yildirim on SaturdayCredit: Getty Images – Getty

It was no child’s play but certainly kid’s pay when Canelo Alvarez made around £15 from his first pro fightCredit: Instagram / @canelo

The 30-year-old had enjoyed his first amateur fight as an 11-year-old boy and, within four years, he was so feared on the youth circuit that he agreed to fight fully grown men for pay.
On October 29, 2005 the flame-haired ace faced Abraham Gonzalez in a super-lightweight found rounder.
In the final round, Canelo stepped on the gas and stopped his 18-year-old rival, winning 800 Pesos in the process.

Sadly for Canelo, the youngest eight children, he had so many friends and family at the Larios Chololo arena, that he only pocketed half the money as the rest went on the tickets he needed for all the gang.

Speaking ahead of Saturday night’s defence of his WBA and WBC super-middle titles against Avni Yildirim, Canelo said: “I won 800 Pesos for that fight but I had to pay half of that on tickets because my family is so big.
“So I only got paid half of the money for my first fight.
“But I love boxing so I have never done it for the money and back then I worked too.
“I was also on my own, I had no kids, I had nothing and I worked so I didn’t need the money.

“I just wanted to fight, which is what fascinates me.”
Since 2005, the value of the Mexican Peso has roughly doubled so in today’s money the biggest cash cow in sport was worth around £60 for his boxing bow but only banked £30.
But that still seems a little light, seen as the 2013 Floyd Mayweather loss generated around £125million and the Gennady Golovkin two-fight rivalry around £200m.
    SCOFFS ‘SHAVED ICE’
The job Canelo had subsidising his burgeoning career since he was just five was helping his father sell ice lollies around town.
The 54-1-2 master started off making them and graduated to selling them aged seven and he credits the early start in hard business with keeping him mature and responsible.
But the freakish talent – who has now won world titles at super-welter, middle, super-middle and light-heavy – was never too grown up to scoff an unhealthy amount, though.
ONLINE CASINO OFFERS: CLAIM OVER £800 IN BONUS CASH

“I used to eat them all of the time,” he laughed to DAZN.
“I could eat a litre of shaved ice all by myself in just three minutes.”
It seems the pound-for-pound kingpin counter-puncher even knew how to beat brain freeze at a very early age.

Boosie Badazz claims Mike Tyson would have been ‘killed’ if he had touched rapper over row with his non-binary child

MIKE TYSON would have been ‘killed’ if he intervened in an argument between Boosie Badazz and Tyson’s daughter, the rapper boasted.
Badazz, real name Torrence Hatch, has been accused of transphobia over comments against Zaya Wade, the trans daughter of NBA hero Dwyane Wade.

Following the row, which the 38-year-old refused to apologise for in an appearance on Tyson’s podcast, the former champ’s non-binary daughter Ramsey confronted him.
In an interview with VladTV released this week, he appeared to claim that, had the former heavyweight champion boxer got involved, he would have been ‘shot’.
Badazz claimed: “[Tyson] was like, ‘My daughter wanna ask you some questions’.
“I said, ‘Bring her in here’. You know, I’m full of answers for questions. She asked me questions, I asked her questions. She said what she had to say, I said what I had to say.”

When asked about Iron Mike’s fear that the argument would have become physical and that Tyson would have had to intervene, he laughed and suggested the boxing legend would have got ‘killed right there’.
Badazz also made reference to Tyson getting ‘shot’.
He added: “You think my n***** would let Mike Tyson…? It’s over.”
Tyson was praised for confronting Badazz on his Hotboxin’ podcast last year.

The ‘Wipe Me Down’ artist, who has served multiple prison sentences on drug and gun charges, was pressed on why he has berated the LGBTQ+ community.

At one point, the 54-year-old asked: “If you are a real man, then why do you offend people?”
Following the podcast and Ramsey’s intervention, Tyson discussed the row and his fear of ensuing violence.
He told TMZ in October: “My daughter flew all the way from New York City to L.A. California where I’m at just to be there, cause she thought Boosie was so disrespectful she had to confront him.
“Could you imagine that? I said, ‘Who do you think you are, you can’t confront my guest.’ And she said, ‘You gotta talk to him, this brother’s disrespectful to the community’.
“So she came, and what they didn’t show, was she confronted him.
“I was worried I would have to get angry, because this is my baby.
“But [Badazz] conducted himself like a gentleman and it went okay. It didn’t go like I anticipated it to go.
“My daughter has a lot of courage and stuff.
“I love Boosie, Boosie is beautiful as far as I’m concerned. It’s just that, he gotta win that fight over those demons. He has to win, he can’t give into them.”
