Family friend Brendan O’Connor told us: “I just spoke to his family and they said he had an infection, but he was weakened by the leukaemia.
“I knew Lee through boxing and we’d always meet up in London before he was ill.
“And when he became ill that’s when we became really close to him because he was in hospital in London.
“He was 200 miles away from his family who came down but they couldn’t come every day, and because I was working close by I used to visit him every day in University College London Hospital.
“He’s a lovely lad, he’s a real fighter in and out the ring and fought the best.
“I was reading the tweets to his family this morning and they want to thank everyone for their support while also respecting their privacy.”
Ex-world title challenger Kevin Mitchell said: “It’s gutting. I just found out this morning. I thought he was going to beat it as well.
“I knew him really well. When he was having a lot of treatment in London, me and my brother used to meet up with him.

“And then when he wasn’t well enough I’d take food down to him.
“When you visit him, you just try and give him a lift and give him a laugh. It’s just sad.”
Lee was first diagnosed with leukaemia in 2014 and confirmed he had terminal brain cancer in 2019.
He had the support of several boxers and promoters throughout his illness, receiving a WBC honorary belt and letter in 2019 for his fight.
Eddie Hearn was one of many to lead the tributes for the former super-middleweight online.
Hearn tweeted: “Very saddened to hear of the passing of Lee Noble.
“Lee fought his illness so bravely for many Years and my thoughts and everyone at Matchroom are with him and his family. At peace now.”

Lee Noble supported during his fight by Kid Galahad, Kell Brook, Billy Joe Saunders and Danny Cassius Connor
Lee fought the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Martin Murray and John Ryder during his career.
His last win in the professional boxing ring came in 2014, which marked his fifth in a row.
He was managed by the Ingle family – who famously trained Prince Naseem Hamed – and was supported by Kell Brook, Kid Galahad and Saunders during his battle.
In August 2020, Noble tragically revealed his treatment had ran out, but vowed to carry on fighting.
His death sparked heartbreak across the boxing world, as several paid their respect to the brave fighter.
Conrad Cummings tweeted: “Saddened to hear about the death of Boxer Lee Noble, only 33 years young also. So sad. RIP champ xx.”

They retail for around £800 each.
Some other furniture was also delivered with Tyson’s pregnant wife Paris ensuring the drop-off ran smoothly, without issues.
The 31-year-old mother of Tyson’s five children was dressed in a baby-blue outfit finished off with brown fluffy slippers, with sunglasses for the morning rays.
Fury and Joshua been locked in talks to face-off in an all-British heavyweight unification showdown this summer.
WBC heavyweight king Fury, 32, recently vented his frustration at the contracts not being signed – admitting he hasĀ stopped eating and trainingĀ while drinking up to 12 pints of beer per day.
Some were worried it would put his blockbuster bout with AJ, 31, in serious jeopardy.
But now the fight has finally been CONFIRMED with the two Brits going toe-to-toe twice later this year in a deal worth a staggering £200million.
However, a couple of key details missing from the fine print were where and when the huge clash would take place.

Saudi Arabia appears to be a front-runner, while Eddie Hearn has previously said the US, Dubai, Qatar and Singapore are also options.
However, the Matchroom mogul has now revealed he’s been taken back by an 11th-hour offer from a country in the Far East.
Ideally, all parties involved with Joshua vs Fury are keen for fans to attend what’s been deemed the biggest fight in British boxing history.
There are still Covid restrictions in place in the Middle East, however, springing the possibility that the fight could be delayed until November time.
Hearn says the individual from said mystery country, will want fans in attendance too, even if it were just 1,000 spectators.

Ben Askren can never ā€˜call himself a fighter ever again’ after ex-UFC star was KOd in 5 seconds, says Paulie Malignaggi

PAULIE MALIGNAGGI said Ben Askren can never ‘call himself a fighter ever again’ because he was knocked out in five seconds. Askren is on the receiving end of the fastest KO ever in the UFC, thanks to Jorge Masvidal’s devastating knee in 2019.

The American had one more fight before retiring that year, but is now returning for a boxing match against YouTuber Jake Paul on April 17.
Malignaggi senses some wise matchmaking by Paul’s team, and incredibly claimed Askren can no longer be considered a true fighter due to his historic loss against Masvidal.
He said onĀ The SchmozoneĀ podcast: ā€œYou can technically call him a fighter.
“Personally, me, anytime you get knocked out in less than five seconds in any fight, you lose the ability to call yourself a fighter ever again.
“So I don’t think Ben Askren can ever call himself a fighter ever again – even if you fight.
ā€œYou may be somebody that fights, but you’re technically not a ā€˜fighter’ anymore because no fighter is getting knocked out in five seconds or less like he did.
“Jake Paul went from YouTuber, to ex-pro athlete to fighting somebody that fights. He’s yet to fight a fighter, but it’s progression.ā€
Paul, 24, beat online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ in his debut in January 2020, and then left ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 36,Ā out cold in November.

And Askren, 36, is a former ONE Championship and Bellator champion, who had three fights in the UFC, losing two, before retiring in 2019.
Ex-champion Malignaggi, 40, who was beaten by former UFC veteran Artem Lobov in bare-knuckle, thinks Askren is the perfect step up from Robinson.
He said: ā€œIn reality, I think he’s (Paul) where he should be after two years.
ā€œSo you can’t really match him against somebody all that dangerous, just because you don’t like that he’s making this money as a boxer when some other boxers aren’t.
“I think Askren is good progression because Askren is technically an ex-fighter now as opposed to just an ex-athlete.ā€

Watch Lawrence Okolie’s brutal one-punch KO of Krzysztof Glowacki as Brit becomes world cruiserweight king

GRANDMASTER Lawrence Okolie was crowned cruiserweight WBO king by battering Krzysztof Glowacki into checkmate. The 28-year-old former McDonald’s worker spent valuable moments before his 16th pro fight playing chess with brilliant trainer Shane McGuigan.

And it paid off when he made the awkward southpaw Pole a pawn in his game of collecting all of the 14st 4lbs titles.
The Anthony Joshua-managed Hackney hero was working in Maccie D’s just nine years ago but is now a world champ with a plan to move up to heavyweight in 2022.
The 6ft Pole had such a wide stance and dipped so low that Okolie’s 5in height advantage looked almost twice as big.
The Hackney man pinged out a rasping jab, the essential shot he has been criticised for neglecting, and landed an early right hook around Glowacki’s left earhole.
Okolie whipped a couple of right hooks into Glowacki’s gut in the second but the tough visitor sucked the blows up and tried a few clubbing counters.
The 2016 Team GB Olympian controlled the third through his giant wingspan, with Glowacki unable to get inside to attack.
Southpaw Glowacki kept trying to step on Okolie’s orthodox lead left foot and the Englishman did the same back in a cat-and-mouse dance game.
Okolie stunned Glowacki at the end of the fourth, when a howitzer of a right hand stiffened the visitor.

A gash over Glowacki’s right eye opened up and he was pawing blood out of his eyesight as he tried to recover from a couple of violent punches.
Okolie won the fifth with the better footwork and a pinpoint jab that the former world champ could not dodge nor deflect.
The whole right side of Glowacki’s face was caked in blood by the end of the session, so it was little surprise when he left a bit of afters on Okolie as the bell rang to end another session the Londoner had banked.
And just 30 seconds into the sixth Oklie rammed a right-handed piledriver into Glowacki that crumbled him into the canvas and although he beat the count, he was waved off before being seriously hurt.

He’s done it! And the new!

    WOW!!!!
Huge right hand from Lawrence Okolie, he absolutely bodies Glowacki in the sixth round.
    OKOLIE KNOCKS OUT GLOWACKI!

    ROUND FIVE
Okolie looking to build on that big round four, throwing out more probing stuff jabs. Glowacki continues to struggle.
The Hackney man lands a stiff right hand after a jab and then circles back to the outside, keeping Glowacki at range.
Okolie then lands to the body again. Glowacki has a cut! He’s been opened up over his right eye.
Okolie will look to target that. At the moment it’s all going his way.
    ROUND FOUR – GLOWACKI ROCKED!
Okolie probes with his long stiff jab and then comes in with a huge right uppercut. Glowacki still can’t get near him.
Lawrence using his feet on the outside brilliantly too, still waiting for that big shot.
And Okolie lands a huge right hand! He wobbles Glowacki with a big one!
But the Pole manages to stay standing. Glowacki’s legs went briefly.
    Massive round for Okolie!
    ROUND THREE
Lawrence still working brilliantly with the long jab, Glowacki can’t get near him at all.
The Pole is getting frustrated and Okolie is just picking him off at distance, waiting to land the big right hand he’s after.
Okolie also continues to target the body, and Lawrence then lands a right hand up close. Glowacki still looking to get in close but to no avail.
    Great third for Okolie. 3-0.
    ROUND TWO
Okolie pummels the body whenever he gets the chance too, Barry McGuigan, like he has all night, calls for the jab again.
Okolie is touching Glowacki whenever he wants at the moment, but he’ll want a power shot soon.
Glowacki not disheartened just yet, he’s still probing, but nothing working for him just yet.
The Pole goes in with the head and the referee warns him. Perhaps some early frustration already.
    ROUND ONE
Nice and relaxed to kick things off for Okolie, tapping the jab out, not giving away too much at all.
Glowacki trying to pressure, but nothing coming off for him yet.
Okolie controlling the centre and he lands a nice right hand! Brilliant start from The Sauce.
And another solid right hand, followed up by a jab to keep Glowacki at bay.
    Good round for Okolie.
    OKOLIE VS GLOWACKI
Here we go! Round 1 is UNDERWAY!
    RING-WALKS

    MAIN EVENT NEXT!
    It’s nearly time.

    RIP MARVELOUS MARVIN HAGLER

    OKOLIE’S TIME
Well, here we are, moments away from the main event, with Lawrence Okolie about to fight for the WBO world cruiserweight title in his 16th fight.
But Krzysztof Glowacki is no pushover, so this will be the toughest test of The Sauce’s career to date.

    WINNER
Rounds in the bank for Joe Cordina tonight.

    CORDINA BEATS KOURBANOV
The Welsh Wizard gets the job done. The judges give it to him 96-96, 98-93, 96-95 – majority decision.

    ROUND TEN
Kourbanov really trying to give it his all in there, but there’s no way he’s getting this on the cards.
Cordina has been too slick and too classy for him, but Kourbanov has still given a decent account of himself.
The Welshman has still been hit a fair bit tonight. Ring rust must be the answer for that.
In the end, solid rounds in the bank for Cordina, who clearly needs to push on with his career now. 7-3.
    ROUND NINE
Decent round for Kourbanov in there! He lands some big shots on Cordina, who welcomes them and fires back.
Both fighters looking to tussle with more intent in the penultimate round of the fight.
Kourbanov comes back with more fire toward the end of the round and Cordina pushes him back onto the ropes for some inside game.
    Best round of the fight.
    ROUND EIGHT
Kourbanov tries to come out a little more aggressive but Cordina looks to be having fun in there, popping off his jab when he needs to.
His promoter Eddie Hearn has spoken about getting Cordina a world title shot this year.
And that just might be the perfect sort of pick-me-up fight for Cordina.
There’s not much more he can do with Kourbanov, the power simply doesn’t seem to be there. But he’s winning.
    ROUND SEVEN
Cordina having success in the seventh with his stinging jab and he’s winning this fight fairly easily right now.
Kourbanov can’t really hang with Cordina. The Welshman clearly needs classier opposition to showcase his own slick skills.
And the 14 months out of the ring won’t have helped either.
At the moment we’re coasting to a clear Cordina win on the cards.
    ROUND SIX
Cordina with some more neat work but he ate a big right hand in the middle of some inside work there,
Kourbanov landed flush and it got his corner very excited, but Cordina styled it out in his usual slick fashion,
The Welshman gets into a closer exchange with Kourbanov and the pair look to work in close, but Kourbanov looks to be the slightly stronger man in there.
    ROUND FIVE
More of the same from both fighters in there.
Cordina clearly the better boxer and the much-neater of the two, but nothing too out-there to shout home about.
He’s going to have to take some risks in thee if he wants a stoppage tonight.
Kourbanov is trying to come forward and give it some but Cordina bats him away with counters off the ropes.
    Solid round.
    ROUND FOUR
Cordina with more neat work, but not much for Kourbanov to get too worried about.
It’s all very workmanlike in there at the moment, nothing too adventurous going on from either fighter.
    Round 4 to Cordina.
    ROUND THREE
More solid stuff from Cordina to open the third but he’s going to have to give a bit more if he wants to hurt Kourbanov.
He may want to bank rounds after his lay-off, however. It’s just not very incisive at the moment.
Kourbanov tries to launch a body attack but Cordina snuffs it out, backs off and resets with jabs of his own.
    3-0 Cordina.
    ROUND TWO
Cordina would some solid body-to-head attack in there, he’s moving nice and slick, getting any lost rhythm back.
The Welsh Wizard throws a few nice combos and Kourbanov retreats onto the ropes, but Cordina manages to land a lovely body shot.
Kourbanov gets a couple of his own nice jabs in there too.
Both fighters now being warned for hitting the back of each other’s heads.
    2-0 Cordina.
    ROUND ONE
Bit of a feeling out round for Cordina, who’s not been in the ring since November 2019 remember.
Kourbanov doesn’t look anywhere near as slick as Cordina in there. The Welshman throwing out nice jabs both to the head and body.
Not much coming back in his direction either. Kourbanov tries to get the body attack going but he’s struggling.
    1-0 Cordina.

Watch as boxer is KO’d after turning his back on opponent when ref confused him by diving in to separate fighters

MAXI HUGHES contined his stunning career turnaround by winning the British lightweight title – but it was a controversial finish. The 31-year-old KO’d Paul Hyland Jr in the eighth-round after referee Mark Lyson confused both boxers.
Referee Mark Lyson looks like he is ready to call a knockdown as he tells Hughes to go to the neutral cornerCredit: MTK Global

Hughes had landed some crippling body shots that left Hyland doubled-up in pain on the MTK Fight Night undercard.
Lyson dived between the two fighters, appearing as though he was ready to score for a knockdown.
But Hyland didn’t touch the canvas as Hughes was told to go the neutral corner.
Hyland then turned his back on the referee and Hughes and walked towards the other corner, seemingly believing the ref had scored the knockdown.
But he hadn’t, and Lyson waved in Hughes who ended up KO’ing Hyland who had his back turned.
While Hughes fully deserved to win the fight and the Lonsdale belt, the manner of victory will leave a sour taste all round.
Hughes keeps up his superb run of form during lockdown, having now beaten Jono Carroll, Viktor Kotochigov and Hyland Jnr in the space of seven months.
In the main event Lee McGregor produced a sensational performance as he stopped Karim Guerfi in the first round to win the European bantamweight title.

McGregor (10-0, 8 KOs) dropped Guerfi (29-5, 9 KOs) three times in round one, with the first two knockdowns coming from body shots.
A ferocious left hook ended the fight.
