Crawford, 33, told the AK & Barak Show on DAZN: “He’s shied away from Jermall Charlo and [Demetrius] Andrade for a long time.
“When you look at Canelo’s career, it’s like he’s shied away from the black fighters.
“I think the black fighters give him the most problems.”
Canelo’s only loss in 58 fights came against Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
The Mexican was heavily outpointed by Money Mayweather, losing a majority decision.
Many claim he should have been handed a second defeat against Erislandy Lara the following year.
Alvarez was given a controversial split-decision win against the Cuban in a clash of styles in 2014.
Canelo holds the WBA and WBC super middleweight titles but will put them on the line against British WBO Champ Billy Joe Saunders on May 8.

If the 30-year-old beats Tyson Fury’s pal, a fight with American IBF boss Caleb Plant is being lined up.
The four-weight king has avoided calls to get it on with WBC, IBF and WBA super welterweight champ Jermell Charlo.
Last year, Canelo dismissed Demetrius Andrade as a future opponent because ‘he’s a boring fighter’.
Canelo missed almost the entirety of 2020 due to the pandemic and a dispute with his former promoters.
Now a free agent, Alvarez appears unlikely to fight unbeaten two-division champ Andrade after citing the lack of big names on his CV.
Last month, Andrade – who has repeatedly called out the 30-year-old – told Fight Hype: “Canelo wants to be unified undisputed champion with fighting the soft opposition, you know, and that’s like, not a real legacy that’s not a real champion that’s not a champion by heart.”

Mike Tyson’s ex-coach tips Anthony Joshua to have a ‘blackout’ against Tyson Fury and be stopped in £500m showdown

Joshua’s chances of getting the better of the fleet-footed Fury have been written off by many on account of his spectacular defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019.
And Atlas, the former trainer of Mike Tyson, reckons he’s ‘not far from removed from’ having another ‘power shortage’.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Fight with Teddy Atlas podcast, the 64-year-old said: “I think Fury could stop him.
“I like AJ, he’s a good fighter, he’s got good talent, he’s had a great comeback. I like all that.
“I’m not gonna say he has a China chin, I’m not gonna say that. But, I’m gonna say Fury has a better chin.
“And I’m gonna say he’s been to dark places when he got stopped by Ruiz. He being Joshua. He went to dark places.

“Now he found a light and he lit the room up and he’s back into a place that’s lit. I just don’t think he’s that far away from a power shortage.
“I think there could be a blackout again, where his confidence [goes].
“When I say the electricity, the light, I attach it to confidence, belief, mental strength and durability.
“I think that a blackout could happen in that generator of his again. He’s not far from removed from being taken back to no lights.
    “So I’m going with Fury.”
    AJ’S ONLY HOPE
Atlas’ belief that Joshua will lose the long-awaited Battle of Britain stems from Fury’s ability to glide in and out of range and his defensive prowess.
Although the Hall-of-Fame coach is refusing to completely write off AJ’s chances of winning the fight.
He continued: “And Fury, all the things he can do in the ring.
“He showed me he can go get you now and he can box and pot shot and move.
“So I’m gonna go with [Fury]. Joshua can punch, Joshua’s a banger.
“He gets into position, but he’s going to have to get into that position.
“Because Fury is more versatile, Fury has more say because he can do more things.

“He can control the outside if he wants and not make it so easy for Joshua to get into his geography so to speak, which I like to talk about.
“But, it’s going to be a humongous fight.”
All that remains for Joshua and Fury’s long-awaited meeting to come to fruition is for both parties to finalise a date and venue.
At this moment in time, both teams are still optimistic the fight will take place in either June or July.

Tommy Fury backed to beat Jake Paul ‘easily’ by Ahmed Elbiali, who sparred YouTuber but says ‘it’s still a great fight’

TOMMY FURY has been tipped to beat Jake Paul ‘hands down easily’ by Ahmed Elbiali, who sparred YouTuber but backs the celebrity fight. Fury, the younger half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson, recently engaged in an online back and forth with the YouTuber.

YouTuber Jake Paul is 2-0 in his boxing career
The Love Island, 21, star even had the green light from his dad and trainer John as well as promoter Frank Warren to face Paul in his next fight.
Talk has since died down, though, and light-heavyweight contender Elbiali predicted Fury would have been a sound winner.
But with his lack of experience boxing on the big stage, mixed in with the complications of fighting a raw novice like Paul, the playing field evens out slightly.
Elbiali, 30, told SunSport: “Fury, I think would beat him, hands down easily.
“But at the same time it’s still a great fight for Jake, because Tommy hasn’t fought anybody.
“Tommy is still new to the game, and you also tend to lower yourself to your opponent.
“Knowing he’s fighting Jake Paul, he might lower his standards slightly.”
Elbiali, who has 17 knockouts in his 20 wins, sparred Paul, 24, once before the social media sensation left ex-NBA player Nate Robinson, 36, out cold last November.

He got a phone call from a friend just after he had finished a morning workout, and while he was in a Nike store shopping.
The Egyptian-born admits to pulling his punches against Paul, who only made his pro debut last year off the back of a scrappy white collar bout in England in 2018.
But still Elbiali sees the passion and potential in Paul, which came as he ignored calls from his pals to needlessly wipe out the internet phenomenon.
Elbiali said: “He’s a hardworking dude, he seems passionate about boxing and he carries some power. Is he green? Yeah, he’s very green.
“I did hold back because I had to, and I’m not that type of guy. I had friends telling me, ‘You should have lit him the f*** up’ but it’s like bro, it’s all good.
“I lit him up in different ways. I lit him up without punching him, I tried to exhaust him, made him miss, hit him to the body.
“Jake’s a smart dude, he’s pretty smart in the boxing ring too.”
Ahmed Elbiali has sparred with Jake Paul

Elbiali did not receive a call back to spar with Paul again, as the 2-0 viral vlogger prepares for his third pro fight.
He faces retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 36, on April 17 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atalanta.
Meanwhile Elbiali is focussing on a return of his own, having not fought since beating Brian Vera in December 2019.
Still, he has been busy in Las Vegas, the hub of heavy sparring sessions, and was recently watched by Floyd Mayweather at the legend’s gym.
Elbiali revealed he refused orders from the man himself as he was urged to try and brutally KO a sparring partner, an apparent protege of Mayweather’s.
He explained: “Vegas is straight up doghouse rules. In November I was sparring in front of Floyd in his Mayweather gym.
“I rocked one of his boys, and Floyd kept telling me, ‘Come on, knock him out’ and I’m like, ‘No, I’m not going to knock this fool out in sparring’.
“I literally told Floyd, ‘No, I’m not going to knock him out dude’. What the f*** am I gonna get from knocking him out in sparring? A bunch of haters.”

However, the Matchroom mogul has now revealed he’s been taken back by an 11th-hour offer from a country in the Far East.
Ideally, all parties involved with Joshua vs Fury are keen for fans to attend what’s been deemed the biggest fight in British boxing history.
There are still Covid restrictions in place in the Middle East, however, springing the possibility that the fight could be delayed until November time.
Hearn says the individual from said mystery country, will want fans in attendance too, even if it were just 1,000 spectators.

Dillian Whyte drafts Leon Knight for Alexander Povetkin showdown after trainer helped Lennox Lewis during dominant reign

DILLIAN WHYTE has imported some old American muscle to beef up sparring ahead of his rematch with Alexander Povetkin. The Brit, 32, has drafted veteran trainer Harold Knight into his Portugal camp ahead of the March 27 fight with the Russian in Gibraltar.

Knight, 58, was a key part of Lennox Lewis’ undisputed heavyweight title reign.
Whyte told SunSport: “Harold likes to jump in the ring during sparring and get in the middle of it all. That’s something he has brought over from America where they like to use sparring to simulate a real fight.
“In America sparring seems to be a lot more loud, rough and aggressive. As long as I get the work in, I am always very chilled.”
Whyte went from chilled to out-cold when 41-year-old Povetkin came back from two punch-perfect knockdowns to land a stunning fifth-round uppercut.
But the Brixton’s ace’s first words when he got back on his feet demanded a rerun with the former Olympic and world champion.
The much-improved fans’ favourite refused to blame the fan-free silence in promoter Eddie Hearn’s back garden for the lack of his usual killer instinct.
But he has warned the veteran that the sweet science student he faced in August is gone and the playground bully will be back in the opposite corner.
He said: “I don’t blame the lack of a crowd, that would be an easy excuse.

“I boxed well in the first fight but I think I drifted a little bit too far away from my natural style as well.
“Let’s see what happens in there, I am looking forward to taking the fight to him but of course I am going to use tools like my jab.
“I am not just going to steam out swinging against a former world champion and Olympic champion, he is not a journeyman I can just plough over, I will need to set him up.
“But I will definitely be more aggressive than I was last time.”
Whyte is now managing a growing stable of fighters who look to him for advice before and after every fight.

Most elite boxers – including Whyte’s old rival Anthony Joshua – now employ a psychologist in a bid to grab every single possible physical and mental advantage.
But old-school Whyte insists he is cut from a different cloth and recovered from his second pro loss with hard training instead of treatment.
He said: “My mindset is different. I have already overcome so much stuff that getting beat doesn’t hurt me.
“I have now lost twice, but only against two Olympic gold winners and world champions.
“And I was never dominated or embarrassed in either of those fights, I could and maybe should have won them both. Two losses are not the end of my life or even my career.
“Nobody wants to lose, I hate it but there are more important things in life, especially these days. I will not be the first guy to get stopped and go on to become heavyweight world champion.”
Dillian Whyte says he’s going for the knockout and isn’t considering a loss against Alexander Povetkin More

The icon, who runs a successful cannabis empire, pocketed a fortune from the latest chapter in the heavyweight’s illustrious and remarkable life.
Foxx, 53 – who won an Oscar in 2005 for his portrayal of blind musician Ray Charles – will now share his story after admitting production for the biopic is well underway.
And award-winning Martin Scorsese has been confirmed as executive producer for the highly-anticipated show, which was originally believed to be a movie.
Foxx said previously: “Doing biographies is a tough thing. Sometimes it takes 20 years to get them done, but we officially got the real ball rolling.
“I met Mike Tyson in the weirdest way, I was on stage doing stand-up years ago [when I was 22]. I get to my Mike Tyson joke and nobody claps, nobody laughs. You know why? Because Mike Tyson was watching.
“So I started hanging out with Mike Tyson so I got to see Mike in two different ways, two different lives.
“I saw him at the height of his career and then when things got bad, things got bumpy, I also saw him as well, so what I’m excited about the movie is to show those moments of the different Mike. That’s the person we want to show.”
Iron Mike announced himself to the world at the age of 20 when he became the youngest ever heavyweight champion.

He would later cement his reputation as one of the world’s greatest by becoming the undisputed champion.
His life has also been marred by controversy including biting off the ear of old foe Evander Holyfield.
Out of the ring he spiralled out of control with a history of drug and alcohol addiction and depression.
He also allegedly hit his first wife, with Robin Givens describing life with Tyson as ‘torture, pure hell, worse than anything I could possibly imagine’.
In 1992 he was convicted of the rape of then 18-year-old Desiree Washington and jailed for six years.
Foxx will need to ensure he hits the gym to play the part after Tyson’s extraordinary body transformation.
The boxer, who ballooned to a whopping 27 stone after retiring in 2005, has shed ten stone to get back into fighting shape.
But Foxx has no doubt he’ll be able to match his strength and added: “I guarantee you, people will run up on me in the street and ask for an autograph and think that I’m Mike.”

With lockdown keeping London’s best nightclubs closed, the only bubbles he could celebrate with were in his bath.
But at least he could catch up on his ‘well done’ messages with one from the middleweight superstar standing out.
The former McDonald’s worker said: “It was just an epsom salts and essential oils bubble bath to celebrate.
“I don’t have a custom-made bath yet, I just have to do the lower half of my body first, then the upper, just interchange it really.
“There have been a lot of nice messages, I don’t want to highlight too many as they’re personal but my favourite one was from the MMA fighter Style Bender (Israel Adesanya).
“He is someone I have watched as a fan and he slid in my DMs just saying ‘well done for achieving your dreams’.
“I have posted to him in the past, as a fan, so for him to reach out was cool.”
