Ruiz Jr, 31, has built a career despite his portly figure and is finally getting a grip on his weight.
He ballooned to 22 stone after his rematch defeat to Joshua, a contest for which his preparation was far from ideal.
Having dropped 40lb the former champ is looking far leaner for his next bout and called out current WBC belt-holder Fury.
He told his YouTube channel: “In my other fights, I weighed 270 pounds, 280 pounds and had to lose 20 pounds just to gain my weight.
“I would always do it the wrong way, use plastic, try to lose weight at the last minute, empty myself.
“I’m ready to get my belts back, not just my belts, I’m coming for you Tyson Fury – I need this WBC.”
On May 1, he will end an 18-month spell away from the ring and face veteran Chris Arreola in California.
And Ruiz Jr has admitted to taking his previous success ‘for granted’.

And the 32-year-old will have plenty of time to focus his mind and relax away from the rigours of training with his new arrival.
Fury’s new purchase, which will soon be followed by his and wife Paris’s sixth child, arrived courtesy of North East company Infinity Hot Tubs.
SunSport understands that the WBC champion opted for ‘The Summer Breeze’ model, which is available for £4,995.
And it is a whole lot more than just bubbles, with the company describing the model as ‘the ultimate Family spa Packed with Technology!’
It reads: “The spa features include – 86 Jets including Impulse spinning jets and directional jets, seating for up to five people, Bluetooth Connectivity to a waterproof audio system, a built in three stage water purification system, a steel frame and full body insulation and more!
“The spa is built to the highest specifications and we are proud to have this product in our range.”
It has already proven to be a knockout with the boxing star as he happily posed to plug the tub in a video for the ever-expanding business.
The 6ft 9in fighter said: “It’s Tyson Fury, AKA the Gypsy King, the heavyweight champion of the world.

“Big shout-out to Infinity Hot Tubs for delivering me this absolutely fantastic hot tub. Check out their website for more details.”
And SunSport also understands that the fan-favourite will soon be receiving another delivery from Infinity Hot Tubs.
Fury has ordered another model for his Morecambe-based gym, near the town’s football stadium, to help him relax as he prepares to try and earn undisputed glory against AJ.
Fury and Joshua have been locked in talks to face-off in an all-British heavyweight unification showdown this summer.
WBC heavyweight king Fury, 32, recently vented his frustration at the contracts not being signed – claiming he had stopped eating and training while drinking up to 12 pints of lager per day.

Some were worried it would put his blockbuster bout with AJ, 31, in serious jeopardy.
But now the fight has finally been CONFIRMED with the two Brits going toe-to-toe twice later this year in a deal worth a staggering £200million.
However, a couple of key details missing from the fine print were where and when the huge clash would take place.
Saudi Arabia appears to be a front-runner, while Eddie Hearn has previously said the US, Dubai, Qatar and Singapore are also options.

However, the Matchroom mogul has now revealed he’s been taken back by an 11th-hour offer from a wealthy individual in the Far East.
Ideally, all parties involved with Joshua vs Fury are keen for fans to attend what’s been deemed the biggest fight in British boxing history.
There are still Covid restrictions in place in the Middle East, however, springing the possibility that the fight could be delayed until November time.
Hearn says the individual from said mystery country, will want fans in attendance too, even if it were just 1,000 spectators.

Dillian Whyte will find out soon enough if brutal Alexander Povetkin KO has made him gun-shy

DILLIAN WHYTE, brutally knocked out by Alexander Povetkin seven months ago, will find out if he’s gun-shy when he seeks vengeance on Saturday night.Whyte was out cold before he hit the canvas when Povetkin’s pulverising left uppercut crashed against his chin.

Though he had fully recovered within minutes, there’s no knowing what psychological scars that devastating blow has left him with.
Being gun-shy is a term used to describe the mental state that often affects fighters who have been on the receiving end of traumatic knockouts.
It can cause someone who usually is aggressively attack-minded to go into their shell and be defensively cautious.
On Saturday night in Gibraltar, Whyte will find out if he is afflicted with the condition as soon as the opening bell sounds and the man who damaged him so severely starts walking towards him.
I believe Anthony Joshua was gun-shy in both his fights after Andy Ruiz bounced him off the floor four times to take his world heavyweight titles nearly two years ago in New York.
Six months later in Saudi Arabia, Joshua got them back in the return with a unanimous points decision — but he was extremely tentative throughout. And he was just as cagey against Kubrat Pulev four months ago.
Whyte’s shock defeat by the powerful Povetkin certainly cost him dear.Going into the ring with the Russian that night, he was the mandatory challenger for Tyson Fury’s WBC world heavyweight crown.
The WBC has now relegated him to No 7 in the rankings — one below Joe Joyce. If that doesn’t fire up Dillian, nothing will.

They say revenge is sweet and also it’s best served cold. Whyte should be made aware history sometimes has a nasty habit of repeating itself.
Perhaps the most famous case of a revenge bid turning disastrously sour was 58 years ago when Floyd Patterson tried to get his world heavyweight title back from Sonny Liston, who had KO’d him in the first round in Chicago.
In the Las Vegas return Liston promptly blasted him to another opening-round humiliation. The only consolation for Floyd was that he had at least lasted four seconds longer!
Closer to home, in 2013, George Groves complained bitterly he had been stopped prematurely in the ninth round when he challenged Carl Froch for his super-middleweight title in Manchester.
Six months later, after successfully campaigning for an immediate return, Groves was flattened by a perfect right hook in the eighth in front of 80,000 awe-struck fans at Wembley.
It will be fascinating to see how Whyte — the firm favourite — approaches Povetkin this time.

For someone who survived being stabbed and shot in his youth, he should not be fearful of anything or anyone.
Povetkin still carries a concussive punch but if Dillian can’t beat a 41-year-old who was recently in hospital with Covid-19, he should be in another line of business.

I COULDN’T get too excited when Lawrence Okolie stopped pathetic Pole Krzysztof Glowacki to win the vacant WBO world cruiserweight title.
Okolie got rave reviews but the WBC, WBA and IBF haven’t got Glowacki in their top 15.

Dillian Whyte net worth: How much money does the Body Snatcher have and what is his purse for Alexander Povetkin?

DILLIAN WHYTE has had an impressive career as a boxer since turning professional back in 2011. The Body Snatcher has been in some big money-making fights and has racked up huge wins along the way.

And this weekend, he looks to bag another as he takes on Alexander Povetkin in a rematch from their explosive fight last summer.
What is Dillian Whyte’s net worth?
Whyte has been in some massive fights in his career, including one which he lost against heavyweight superstar Anthony Joshua back in 2015.
But the 32-year-old has wins over Derek Chisora (x2), Oscar Rivas, Robert Helenius, Joseph Parker and Marius Wach.
Across his career, Whyte has made millions in earnings.

And according to Sportekz, his net worth stands at £5.1million.
Following his loss to AJ, Whyte notched over 10 wins in a row and turned himself into a pay-per-view attraction in the UK.
His entertaining fighting style has afforded him the luxury of commanding big purses, such as the £4m pay-day he made to fight Povetkin last August.
Whyte, however, could’ve made even more money had fans been present at the clash.
What is Dillian Whyte’s purse for the Alexander Povetkin rematch?
Whyte is expected to make around the same amount he made for the first fight with Povetkin.
The Body Snatcher pocketed £4m for his effort in the first clash with the Russian last summer, but he could make even more this time.

The pay-per-view numbers are expected to beat out the buys from the last fight and there will be 500 fans in attendance at the Europa Sports Complex.
The revenue will likely be split 50-50 down the middle between both Whyte and Povetkin. More

UFC star Sean O’Malley predicts a ‘sloppy fight’ between Jake Paul and Ben Askren but backs YouTuber to win on points

SEAN O’MALLEY predicted Jake Paul will be dragged into a ‘sloppy fight’ by Ben Askren, but backed the YouTuber to still win on points. Paul faces retired UFC welterweight Askren on April 17, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The social media star has two knockouts in as many fights, against online rival ‘AnEsonGib’ and ex-NBA player Nate Robinson.
Askren is an ex-ONE Championship and Bellator champion but was renowned for his grappling rather than striking and even admits he was not gifted with speed or power.
As a result, UFC bantamweight O’Malley warned the former Olympic wrestler will try and make things ugly in the ring as Paul fights to prove himself.
He said ahead of UFC 260: “I wanna see that fight. I don’t know, Ben versus Jake, it’s exciting. It’s gonna be a sloppy, sloppy fight.
“Ben’s gonna make it sloppy, which is good for him. Jake, he looks like he’s training hard.
“He’s young, he’s athletic, so if he doesn’t beat Ben Askren, we’ll see where he goes from there. He has to beat Ben to show he’s a legitimate boxer.”
Paul, 24, ruthlessly KOd Robinson last November on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s comeback.
And he has warned Askren, 36, is in for an equally brutal night.

But O’Malley advised Paul to instead pace himself to victory, or risk running out of steam and allowing experienced Askren to take over.
He explained: “Ben’s such a good competitor – it’s not gonna be a good boxing fight. It’s gonna be gruelling.
“God, I hope Jake doesn’t come in there and try to put his lights out in the first round, two rounds. He’s gonna gas out and Ben’s gonna be there.
“Ben’s gonna be there all eight rounds. I don’t think Ben’s gonna gas.
“I think if Jake comes out calm, stays calm fight week, stays calm fight day, doesn’t get too excited and just blow his load the first couple of rounds, I think he can outbox him.
“If he stays behind his jab and doesn’t let Ben do what Ben wants to do, I think Jake could get the job done.”

Nathan Gorman was consoled by cousin Tyson Fury after first loss and now plans for an inspirational comeback of his own

NATHAN GORMAN was consoled by cousin Tyson Fury after losing for the first time, and now hopes to make an inspirational comeback of his own. Gorman lost his unbeaten record in 2019, as he was knocked out by former amateur sparring partner Daniel Dubois.

He bounced back in October, with a stylish points decision over ten rounds against experienced Ghanaian Richard Lartey.
But it came after Gorman, 24, overcame emotional anguish following his first professional setback.
The heavyweight sought the advice of older relative Fury, who vacated his world titles in 2015 following a battle with depression and substance abuse.
But after finding his passion fighting passion again, within five years the Gypsy King capped off a remarkable turnaround and reigned as champ again.
And it was simply falling in love with boxing again which Fury, 32, advised his cousin to do on the road to recovery.
Gorman told SunSport: “Tyson’s inspired not just me, but millions of people around the world. It’s incredible really.
“I spoke to Tyson and the best thing he said to me was ‘get back to boxing’.
“That was his advice, get back in the ring and do what you most happy with. And that’s boxing. And I did and I’m doing it at the minute.
“To me, I look at it this way, as long as I’m enjoying myself, it doesn’t matter what anybody thinks of me.

Gorman could only be praised as he rolled the dice and took on heavy-hitter Dubois in his 17th fight for the British title.
But the risk did not pay off, and the ex-Team GB squad member was left in a dark place afterwards following a barrage of stick from keyboard warriors.
Gorman said: “It was extremely hard.
“Especially nowadays, because you have social media and everything, and everyones voicing their opinions.
“I generally switch my phone off for about three months, didn’t even look at it.

“But when I did, there was some good comments, but out of 100, 30 or 40 were good, the rest was negative.
“They said, ‘You need to quit boxing, you’re c**p, you’re s*’, all this.
“Probably from people who have never been in a boxing ring or understand boxing.
“For me mentally it was very hard, but any boxer in the world will tell you, when you lose, it’s not like losing a game of football when your whole team loses, in boxing it’s you only.”
After a pep talk from WBC king Fury, and returning to winning ways, Gorman realised the result was no more of a loss than it was a lesson.
He explained: “My comeback fight, it was good to get back in the ring, get punched, throw some punches, and get the momentum back going.

“That was what it was for ideally and straight after the fight I got straight back in the gym, been working on a lot of new things.
“Without sounding silly, it was probably the best thing to ever happen to me getting beat because it’s made me learn a lot of things, a lesson.
    “I didn’t lose, I learned a lesson.”
Gorman returns for his second fight since losing to Dubois on Saturday, against Kristijan Krstacic at the Copper Box.
And if all goes to plan, he has set his sights on another challenge for domestic gold this year.
Gorman said: “Get Saturday out the way first, then I want the British and Commonwealth titles. That’s what I want to go for.”

Andy Ruiz Jr looks RAPID and lean after revealing he’s lost THREE STONE after coming in overweight vs Anthony Joshua

But six months later, and while neglecting hard graft in the gym for the high life, Ruiz was brought back down to earth.
He scaled in a gigantic 20STONE for the Saudi Arabia rematch and lost his titles after a laboured 12-round decision.
Now, after relocating to San Diego to team up with Canelo Alvarez’s esteemed trainer Eddy Reynoso, Ruiz is looking better than ever.
He has dramatically transformed his body after falling into depression following his loss to AJ, where he weighed 310lb (22stone).
And all the gruelling training ahead of his comeback has seen him lose 40lb, meaning he is back down to around 19st 2lb.
Ruiz, 31, said on his YouTube channel: “Everyone will see the difference. Everyone will see my hard work, that’s what it is.
“I’m ready for my next fight. I’m ready, excited, ready to prove everyone wrong.
“I must have lost 40 pounds. After my fight against Anthony Joshua, my loss in Saudi Arabia, I gained up to 310lbs.

“I was depressed, I was mad at myself because I knew I should have trained, I knew I should have done better in my last fight, but it’s never too much late.
“Now is the start of seeing the real and new Andy Ruiz Jr.”
Ruiz was captured showing off his rapid hand speed on the pads and heavy bag in Reynoso’s gym.
His comeback fight was recently announced for May 1, against former world title challenger Chris Arreola.
And he opened up about his complacency after becoming an underdog champion and vowed to reach the heavyweight summit again.

Dillian Whyte is gunning for revenge this weekend
The Body Snatcher is aiming to avenge his stunning fifth-round KO defeat to the veteran Russian in August.
There will be 500 fans in attendance at the arena in what has been dubbed ‘Rumble on the Rock’.
Gibraltar became the first country in the world to complete its vaccine rollout for the entire population.
There have been 4,000 cases of coronavirus and 94 deaths in a country with around 34,000 people.
Life is slowly getting back to normal with socialising allowed but there is a curfew from midnight until 5am.
This means fans will be in attendance for every hammer blow between two heavyweight sluggers.
The Europa has a capacity of just over 8,000, but the big crossroads boxing fight will be in a hall at the site.
