And he reckons the domestic dust-up could fill the Theatre of Dreams – despite both men being in the latter stages of their careers.
The 34-year-old told Sky Sports: “I think now is the right time to make that fight happen with Kell.
“We both have been world champions. We’re both British and in the north as well.
“Imagine making a huge fight like that happen at the Old Trafford football stadium. It would be a massive fight.
“Look, we’re ready to take it, and I think it will be good for boxing, especially to settle the score and put him in his place.”
Khan recently called for Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn to make the long-awaited Battle of Britain, which he wants to be his swansong.

The Olympic silver medallist told talkSPORT: “What’s the fight that everyone wants to see?
“Everyone wants to see the Kell Brook fight. We’ve been talking about it for years and years.
“Look, me and Kell are probably past our best, I’ll be honest. But at the same time, we’re both around the same age.
“I think it’d be a good fight between us to see still who the number one is in Britain.”
He added: “So I called Eddie Hearn and I said ‘let’s make it happen’.
“Eddie said ‘no worries’, spoke to Kell’s family and Kell’s father wasn’t interested in it. He said ‘no, we’re gonna look at other options’.

“What other option is there for Kell Brook to make a good payday and fight someone with a big name like myself? Unless he fights someone with a world title or in America.
“So I’m scratching my head man, I’m thinking like, ‘What’s he going through?’
“What’s going on with Kell Brook? How come he doesn’t want the fight? Let’s make it happen.”
Former two-division champion Khan hasn’t fought since his fourth-round TKO victory over Billy Dib last July.
Brook, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since his ill-fated bid to dethrone undefeated WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford last November. More

Joshua’s chances of beating Fury have been written off by many, with some claiming he won’t land on the fleet-footed Gypsy King.
But Ruiz Jr believes AJ can get the job done if he doesn’t box at distance as he did in their 2019 rematch.
Mexico’s first heavyweight champion told The Daily Mail: “Fury has a really weird style.
“I feel if Joshua doesn’t box around – like he did to me – and goes forward, throws his combinations, I think Anthony will pull out the victory.”
A date and venue for the biggest fight in the history of British boxing has yet to be finalised.
However, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently revealed the long-awaited Battle of Britain is on course to take place in July.
CASINO SIGN UP OFFER: CLAIM UP TO £800 IN CASINO BONUS CASH

During an appearance on The AK and Barak show, he said: “In July.
“The date depends on many different things. For one venue, it’s the backend of July, and for another venue, it’s the first week of July.
“There’s been a bit of talk about Wembley, which is difficult, but we got 100,000 capacity, which the government is working towards.
“Wembley is trying to initiate full capacity.
“So if we did have full capacity at the end of July, Wembley comes into the conversation.
“In AJ’s head, this comes down to as much money as possible, but for AJ, I’m not saying he’s looking for the right deal, but he just wants to fight.
“He wants this fight next more than anything.
“So if it’s 100,000 at Wembley, Anthony Joshua is 1 million percent signed and in for this fight.
“Obviously, we have to do our job and go around the world and present all the offers to the fighters, but Anthony Joshua has told me categorically that if it’s Wembley and full up, ‘I’m in.’
“But firstly, I have to deal with all these approaches for the fighters.”

Hearn, 41, added: “AJ is in 100 per cent full camp.
“In his mind, this is the only fight that is going to happen next. Whoever comes up with the best opportunity, it’s on.
“I hope that will come from the other side as well because everybody signed a contract, and they have to approve the site and the deal as far as the site offers.
“But it’s going to be significant.”

Paul has called out White several times, and his leading star Conor McGregor.
And the promoter has grown such a dislike to the social media star, he was willing to help Askren out by linking him up with Roach in Los Angeles.
Askren, 36, told The Schmo: “Dana’s my buddy now. We’re good. You know, it’s funny how circumstances bring people together sometimes.
“Even when the UFC traded for me, Dana and I weren’t buddy buddy necessarily and now he really wants me to beat up Jake Paul.”
Askren was long considered the best MMA talent outside of the UFC, and White refused to sign the former Olympic wrestler.
But in 2018, Askren traded with ex-UFC champion Demetrious Johnson, who instead moved to ONE Championship in Asia.
The American grappler had three UFC fights, losing two, the last against Damian Maia in October 2019.
Afterwards, Askren retired and underwent hip surgery, but this January accepted a fight against Paul.

Logan Paul reveals fight with brother Jake WILL happen and be ‘one of biggest and highest grossing’ PPVs of all time

LOGAN PAUL is confident he will fight brother Jake, leading to ‘one of biggest and highest grossing’ pay-per-views of all time. The YouTubers have both embarked on professional boxing careers, and seem equally open to one day facing each other in the ring.
Jake Paul, left, pictured with older brother Logan
They have headlined on PPV before, and never have two brothers fought each other.
As a result, Logan predicts they have the perfect formula to smash records and reignite their old rivalry.
He told Access: “I’m a showman, so is Jake, and we had a little rivalry on YouTube that has never been matched and I don’t believe it ever will.
“Our diss tracks against each other have like 300million views, it was like we were the two brothers that despised each other online.
“And I think we can probably make a similar wave if Jake and I ever fought each other.
“I’d go ahead and say Logan Paul versus Jake Paul would be one of the greatest, and biggest and highest grossing pay-per-view combat sports events of all time.”
The Pauls both started their boxing journeys together in Manchester in 2018.
Logan boxed to a draw with KSI – while the Brit’s brother ‘Deji’ was beaten by Jake.

KSI, 27, and Logan, 26, would turn pro a year later for the rematch.
And Logan lost by split-decision, after a two point deduction cost him the result.
Jake, 24, on the other hand, turned pro in 2020, stopping online rival and friend of KSI’s ‘AnEsonGib’ in the opening round.
He improved to two knockouts in as many fights last November, leaving ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 36, out cold and turned into a viral meme.
Jake now faces retired ex-UFC welterweight Ben Askren, 36, in his biggest step up, on April 17 in Atlanta.

Meanwhile Logan is set to fight boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, 44, in an exhibition.
Mayweather – who officially retired in 2017 after beating Conor McGregor – has the all-time box office record.
His 2015 win over Manny Pacquiao, now 42, sold 4.6m PPVs, while the crossover fight with McGregor did 4.4m.
It would take some doing to topple those numbers, but Logan is at least sure he would beat his little brother.
He said: “I’m biased, because I’m me, but yes, I would.”

Both men were set to pit their wits against each other on January 15, but the event was postponed after Morales, 44, contracted coronavirus.
And ESPN Deportes have now confirmed that the fourth fight between the duo will take place on American soil, with Barrera, 47, looking to make it three wins in a row.
The first encounter between the two greats took place in February 2000, where Morales retained his WBC super-bantamweight title on a split decision.
Barrera gained revenge two years later when he outpointed his rival to win the WBC featherweight strap, while also inflicting a first professional defeat for Morales.
Morales then had his WBC super featherweight title ripped away in November 2004 after losing a majority decision.
Both men have been inactive for a nearly a decade, with Barrera’s last contest coming in 2011, while Danny Garcia sent Morales into retirement in 2012.
But the pair have expressed their excitement at meeting again, as Morales told ESPN: “We are very happy to be able to get back in the ring.
“Barrera was a great opponent for me in my career, we had three fights, two of them were the best [fights] of the year, and we are just finalising some things.
“In a few days we will have the venue and see if we are going to use head gear or not. What has been decided is that it will be six rounds.”

Quoted by DAZN, Barrera added: “For me, it is very exciting. However, I have been retired from boxing for ten years. When they talked to me and told me about the project, I have always liked to help.
“It fills me with nervousness and excitement to step on a stage like this again. Both ‘Terrible’ and I used to leave everything in the ring, and the people know it.”
Morales and Barrera are the latest boxers that will step back inside the squared circle following Mike Tyson’s exhibition contest against Roy Jones Jr in November.
It was revealed earlier this week that Miguel Cotto and Juan Manuel Marquez were to lace up the gloves once more.
And Julio Cesar Chavez, 58, is set for one final fight with the Mexican icon to take on Hector Camacho Jr on June 19.
Oscar De La Hoya will also make his comeback to the ring later this year on July 3 aged 48.
