Anthony Joshua ‘doesn’t give a s***’ about Tyson Fury’s deadlines and vows to ‘kick his a***’ whenever they fight

ANTHONY JOSHUA doesn’t give a s*** about Tyson Fury’s deadlines over their summer undisputed decider. The WBC Gypsy King claimed on Sunday that he would walk away from the mega-money talks over a Saudi Arabia showdown if it wasn’t completed by Tuesday.
Anthony Joshua remains blase about Tyson Fury’s fight deadline
Gypsy King Fury threatened to pull out of talks
That deadline has now passed but AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn insists he is still getting aspects of the deal done and a major announcement is coming.
And Watford’s WBA, IBF and WBO king, 31, is tired of hearing his 32-year-old rival talk down the biggest fight in British boxing history.
The champ told Pep Talk TV: “I don’t think that’s the right mindset to have. I would wait until the end of the year if I had to.
“It’s the fight we both want, it’s the fight the world wants, the promoters and the TV networks, so putting a time limit isn’t right.
“If people are clearly working on something and they need a little extra time, you want the job done right then you sit tight for a little bit.
“As long as things are getting done I will wait til next Tuesday or the Tuesday after.

“I know I want it and so does he, maybe he just got his words mixed up.
“With every week that passes I am a week better, a week stronger and a week wiser and a week closer to the day when I kick Tyson Fury’s a***.
“I don’t know what Fury is doing and I don’t give a s*** either, all I know is what I am doing and I am coming.”

Fury claimed this weekend that even if AJ wins their potential showdown he would not be the best heavyweight of this era, as he is yet to beat Deontay Wilder.
But the London 2012 golden boy has no time for Fury’s point of view and has told the 6ft 9in money grabber to sit tight and wait for his comeuppance.
He said: “In life everyone is entitled to an opinion, everyone has got one, like an a***, really.
“I believe I have beaten some good names and played my part in keeping boxing alive by fighting good champions.
“I did a lot of talking last year about what I wanted and made big offers but I like to do my talking in the ring.
“Everyone that I have fought has had their biggest ever payday.
“There is a lot to benefit so anyone that doesn’t fight me clearly doesn’t want it, because there is so much to gain.
“With the next one coming up, it is a no-brainer. It will be his career-highest payday, the biggest fight in the world and the whole boxing community will benefit from it.”

AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealed the exciting update on Thursday eveningCredit: Instagram @anthonyjoshua
Joshua, 31, and Fury, 32, signed a two-fight deal in March, with their promoters giving themselves four weeks to have a venue and date set in stone.
That deadline passed earlier this week but AJ’s promoter, Hearn, has all-but confirmed the clash WILL happen with the venue now, finally, agreed upon.
Hearn added the venue and date will be announced shortly and reassured fans the first fight will definitely still take place this summer.
He told BehindTheGloves: “I don’t want to talk too much about it.
“All I will say, which I haven’t said to anyone yet, is that both sides have approved the site offer they want to go with.
“Now we’re just finalising the site deal. We’re in a great place.
“We’re moving forward now, we’re good.
“You’ll get the date soon and the official announcement.”

In another positive update, Hearn revealed he’d met with Fury in Las Vegas – where the Gypsy King is currently training – with the Morecambe star completely focused on fighting Joshua.
Hearn said: “I saw Tyson yesterday. It was good.
“We just had five or ten minutes together and it was good.
    “I don’t represent Fury so I don’t know what’s in his mind.
“And what he basically cemented in my mind was, this is the only fight he wants.
“And I know that’s the same with AJ.”
Hearn refused to confirm where the agreed upon venue was based.

But both Hearn and Fury appeared to hint the monster fight would take place at the £1.6billion ‘Death Star’ arena in Las Vegas earlier this week.
The pair both posted images of the stunning Allegiant Stadium onto their Instagram stories.
Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, and Singapore have all expressed an interest in hosting Joshua vs Fury, with Wembley also being considered.
And when asked if the fight would definitely go ahead, Hearn confidently roared: “Oh definitely. 100 per cent, yes.
“Both guys want two fights. One will be in the summer, one will be in December.”
Meanwhile, Joshua was in confident mood as his training continues as he predicted he’d ‘kick Fury’s a**e”.
AJ roared: “We’re expecting me to be a week better with my skills, a week stronger with my mentality, a week wiser and I’m gonna be a week closer to the date where I get to kick Tyson Fury’s a**e.”

Conor McGregor ‘can’t box’ and ‘smart’ move would be fighting Jake Paul in the octagon, claims Ryan Garcia

CONOR MCGREGOR’S boxing abilities have been blasted by Ryan Garcia as rumours continue to mount that the UFC star will fight Jake Paul.Notorious, who famously lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2017 on his previous foray into the ring, will be back in action, in he octagon, on July 10.

He will face Dustin Poirier in a trilogy fight at UFC 264 in Las Vegas as he looks to avenge his shock loss to Diamond in January.
But despite McGregor’s attentions currently being fixed on MMA, speculation of a huge money-spinning boxing match against YouTuber Paul refuses to go away.
And WBC interim lightweight title holder Garcia, 22, believes things would not turn out great for the Irishman should he pull on the gloves again.
He told SportsJOE: “People can say whatever they want. When I watched Conor fight Mayweather. Conor can’t box. He can’t box.
“If Conor was smart, he’d ask Jake Paul to go in the octagon with him. If you’re the bigger star you should do that because Conor is not that good of a boxer in my opinion.
“I understand that it was against Floyd Mayweather, but your punches didn’t even look good. Like when you were throwing them, they didn’t have no torque on them.
“Can you make improvements? Of course, anybody can. How much can you? I don’t know. He steps into the ring again with anybody good, he’s not going to win. He’s just not.”
As well as his social media antics, Paul has already recorded two knockout victories as a pro boxer.

He has his third fight this weekend when he goes one-on-one with former UFC star Ben Askren.
And Garcia believes that McGregor would struggle to knock out Paul should they ever get it on.
He added: “I think him and Jake Paul, if he brings the same fight he brought to Floyd against Jake Paul, that’s more competitive. I promise you.
“I’ll put a hundred thousand dollars he won’t knock out Jake Paul. You can mark it down right now. I’ll put a hundred thousand he won’t be able to knock out Jake Paul.
“Will he beat him? Maybe. He won’t knock him out though.”

Meet Regis Prograis, the superstar boxer who survived TWO deadly hurricanes and comes into ring wearing werewolf mask

REGIS PROGRAIS has survived two hurricanes and a Tartan Tornado and is now rebuilding toward another world title.New Orleans’ super-lightweight ace won over British fight fans when he travelled to London in 2019 to face Josh Taylor in the final of the World Boxing Super Series.

Prograis was caught up in the deadly Hurricane Katrina disaster of 2005 as a kid growing up in New OrleansCredit: Instagram @regisprograis
The 32-year-old opened up to SunSport about how the 2005 Hurricane Katrina destroyed his childhood but made him the man he is today.
Prograis, also a survivor of the 2017 hurricane that hit his adopted home of Houston, lost the 10st undisputed O2 fight-of-the-year winner that Taylor grabbed on a majority decision.
But his reputation as a thrilling fighter, bulging with talent as well as heart, was secured by the magnificent bout.
And his heart-warming story will reach a whole new audience this weekend when he faces Ivan Redkach on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs Ben Askren circus show.
The southpaw told SunSport: “Hurricane Katrina was probably the best thing that ever happened to me because it took away all my materialistic instincts at an early age.
“I learned in a split second that you can accumulate all this physical wealth; homes, houses, jewellery and clothes and God can just wipe it away from you and clean your whole slate.
“We had all of our stuff and it just vanished. It was crazy to see what water is capable of.
“You need water to live but I watched it become the most dangerous force you could imagine.

“Seeing those things does something to you, it changes you, but for me, it became the best thing that could have happened.”
The Fite.TV card that pits an infamous YouTube prankster against a former UFC wrestler best known for being knocked out cold in five seconds, is being promoted by new powerhouses Triller.
The mega-money firm produced Mike Tyson’s comeback against Roy Jones Jr in November and just paid sensationally over the odds to host Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos in the summer.
The company is creating bizarre cards featuring OAP icons, basketball players, rappers and occasionally bonafide boxers.
And the new young audience Triller is captivating will get a kick out of Prograis’ monster ringwalk costume.

The 25-1 ace will don a mask of the mythical Rougarou monster that lent him his nickname, a beast from Creole folktales much like the half-man-half-wolf creature from horror stories.
But unlike crackpot Deontay Wilder, Prograis confirms his mask is just a theatrical nod to his heritage and not some half-baked alter ego.
Prograis said: “My mask doesn’t carry any power or alter-ego, it’s just a bit of showmanship.
“The mask helps me with tunnel vision because when you’re walking to the ring there are thousands of people trying to talk to you and distract you but the mask narrows your vision to just forward.
“Sometimes, though, that means I can barely see and have to lean on my trainer to guide me to the ring.
“There are some steep stairs you take to get into the ring and most of the time I have to be super careful to make sure I don’t fall in front of everyone.”

Jake Paul claims he’s an ‘elite’ boxer but admits many see him as a ‘s****y amateur’ ahead of Ben Askren clash

JAKE PAUL has described himself as an ‘elite’ boxer – but admits many fans still see him as a ‘s****y amateur’ despite winning both of his professional fights by knockout. The American YouTuber, 24, takes on former UFC star Ben Askren in the boxing ring on Saturday night in what will be his third pro bout.

Paul has already beaten ex-NBA star Nate Robinson and fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib in his brief career.
And after admitting many fans see him as a circus act, Paul is hoping to change their opinion against Askren – who last fought in UFC in 2019.
Paul was asked what level of boxing he believed people considered him to be at – domestic, international, world class or elite.
The YouTuber replied: “I see myself as an elite fighter, right now.
“A young prospect with a lot of motivation and a lot of hunger.
“I think people see me as a s****y amateur.
“So there’s sort of a big difference, a big gap between where I actually am and what the general audience will think.
“But I’m excited again to show my ability on Saturday against Ben who is a world-class fighter.”

Paul’s revelation came just hours after Askren threatened to choke him out on Saturday night in his first fight following hip surgery.
Askren, 36, said: “One of you guys can start a GoFundMe – how much would you give me to choke Jake Paul out with a guillotine?
“If the number’s bigger than my purse, maybe I’ll do it.”
Askren then demonstrated what he would do to Paul by using his coach.
Paul was later asked about Askren potentially using his old tricks in the ring, but the social media star warned it would come at a cost.
He told MMA Junkie: “So a couple of answers to that question, the first one being I don’t think the fight will last long enough for him to even think about taking me down.
“The second being if he does do something like that, his purse is eliminated in the bout agreement.
“So if he wants to lose all the money for the fight, then sure, then go ahead.
“The third thing is, I’m beating him up in Asics Aggressors which are wrestling shoes, so he’s going to get beat up in wrestling shoes, which I think is hilarious.”

Watch moment Frank Mir made Brock Lesnar TAP OUT in shock UFC debut ahead of first pro boxing fight vs Steve Cunningham

FRANK MIR made history 13 years ago by becoming the first man to beat Brock Lesnar inside the octagon.Mir welcomed the WWE icon to the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the co-main event of UFC 81: Breaking Point.

A 30-year-old Lesnar entered MMA’s premier promotion with a sole victory over Min-Soo Kim to his name.
The former NCAA Division 1 wrestler went into his contest with Mir, who had a whopping 13 fights to his name, as a huge underdog.
But the behemoth had success early doors, dropping Mir with a big straight right after eating a heavy leg kick.
Lesnar sensed blood and went in for the kill, unleashing a flurry of hammerfists in order to close the show.
Mir managed to ride out the storm by continuously looking for sweeps and eventually forced Lesnar back to his feet.
And seconds later, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt bamboozled Lesnar by rolling for a kneebar.

Lesnar failed to defend the crippling submission and was begrudgingly forced to tap to the former heavyweight champion.
In fact, Lesnar ended up tapping TWICE before Mir let go of the nasty lock.
Mir’s holding on to the submission after the first tap enraged Lesnar, who used it as fuel for their rematch at UFC 100 in July 2009.
And their second encounter couldn’t have been any different from their first.
Lesnar showed much improved striking and grappling skills, much to the surprise of many.

The former heavyweight champ exacted his revenge in the second round by pinning Mir against the cage and unleashing hellacious blows on his face before the referee called a halt to proceedings
Mir was left a bloody mess and could barely stand after the stoppage.
And seconds later, he had to deal with a fired-up Lesnar gloating and talking trash in his face.
Two-time UFC heavyweight king Mir will be back in action this weekend, making his boxing debut on the undercard of Jake Paul’s showdown with Ben Askren.
Mir will lock horns with former IBF cruiserweight titleholder Steve Cunningham in his maiden outing to the squared circle.

And he’s left no stone unturned during his transition to the sweet science.
He told SunSport: “All humans are great at bulls***ing themselves.
“Where my bulls*** came from I always knew I was smarter than any guy I fought.
“So I’d be like I know more about fighting than the guy I’m fighting, so I could be like, ‘Oh, I’ll skip this session’.
“It was an arrogance, now I’m fighting in a boxing match, now I’m not the smarter one so I have to be in better shape, do the basics, be razor-sharp and not make mistakes.”

Paul, who is set to box former UFC star Ben Askren this weekend, entertained the idea of facing the reality TV star.
But Hall-of-Fame coach Roach believes the former Disney actor would be wise not to step into the ring with TNT.
Roach, speaking via the BonusCodeBets.co.uk blog, said: “Jake has a good jab and he throws long punches.
“Ben will need to be a boss inside the ring – push him around and establish his ground, then crowd him. That will take away Jake’s strength.
“Jake is green. He is a product of good matchmaking. And yes, Jake has several weaknesses we will exploit, and no, I will not share those weaknesses before the fight!
“I think it’s a lot safer for Jake Paul if he sticks with exchanging words instead of punches with Tommy Fury.”

Former ONE Championship and Bellator welterweight champ Askren trained with Roach in the build-up to his clash with Paul.
And Roach has every confidence in Funky putting a beating on The Problem Child.
He added: “I do share Dana’s [White] confidence. I’d really like Ben to win this fight and I’ll be tuning in to watch it.
“I can’t see Jake maintaining the pace Ben will be dictating. And once Jake begins to slow down, Ben will punish him.
“Ben is a pro and a good finisher. That comes from experience at an elite level.
“What has Jake Paul learned from the level of opposition he has faced?
How Logan Paul and little brother Jake compare
“Ben knocking Jake Paul on his ass will be a nice YouTube highlight.
“I told Ben that beating Jake Paul would be more than a victory, it would be a public service.
“Ben has enjoyed success at an elite level against opposition that is far superior to the opponents Jake has faced.
“Ben knows this and it should give him enormous confidence going into this fight.
“Ben’s power and conditioning are miles ahead of Jake. Ben just needs to crowd Jake.
“If Ben fights like Joe Frazier, he’s going to win like Joe Frazier. Ben will need to be on the attack at all times. I think it will be an exciting fight.”
Jake Paul is cutting no corners with his diet

Paul, however, is adamant Askren won’t lay a glove on him, telling ESPN: “Go Google Ben Askren’s striking. Hahaha.
“It’s not going to go that long, it’s not going to go that long.
“I don’t even think he’ll hit me. I haven’t been hit one time in the face in my past two fights.
“So I haven’t even been punched as pro boxer one time. Nate Robinson landed one body shot in a clinch.
“I don’t think Ben Askren will even hit me. That’s my prediction.”
