      A swift one-two from Paul put Askren on the canvas and the referee stopped the fight after he had unconvincingly clambered to his feet.
      Some onlookers were not won over by the legitimacy of the contest yet the victor will continue to look up the boxing food chain.
      And Askren has tipped old MMA team-mate Woodley to jump into the ring with Paul.
      Although he revealed that Oscar De La Hoya is the former welterweight world champion’s ideal fight.
      The American said: “I would love Tyron to whoop him up.
      “Tyron wants to fight Oscar De La Hoya but I would love Tyron to fight Jake Paul.
      “He’s a significantly better boxer than I am so that would be my guy.”
      Askren admitted post-fight that he was hugely disappointed with his performance in Georgia.

      He declared: “It’s probably deserved. I got knocked out by Jake Paul, it’s f***ing embarrassing.”

      The southpaw champ, 33, outpointed the 28-year-old from Clydach in Florida.
      Matchroom chief Hearn said during the week his fighter was the most difficult boxer to make big fights for.
      And after the bout the Englishman told DAZN: “Firstly I thought it was a great fight, big props to Liam Williams.
      “If you are a champion watching that fight, firstly as Demetrius says, he’s done his job.
      “It’s not his responsibility to convince the other champions to fight him. Champions are supposed to fight champions.
      “Champions have to fight champions and Demetrius can’t just keep defending these belts.
      “Let’s make these unification fights, that’s what being champion is about. Charlo, Golovkin, let’s do it.”
      Hearn argued that Charlo should be looking at a higher calibre of opponent while GGG should face Andrade before his bout with Japanese star Ryota Murata at the end of the year.

      “He’s got an opportunity – if he doesn’t want to fight on DAZN, we’ve made him a massive offer, Demetrius will go and fight on Fox.
      “It’s not a problem, he’s not expensive. It’s going to cost him the same as [Sergiy] Derevyanchenko. Jermall Charlo against Demetrius Andrade is a big, big fight.
      “It’s two great American world champions, why are the champions not looking to face Demetrius Andrade. He was hurt tonight, he was tired. He can’t make 160 pounds forever.

      And he piled on even more pounds, after enjoying the lifestyle that comes with being world heavyweight king, for his rematch defeat to the Brit in December 2019.
      It defeat remains his last appearance in the ring, but that changes on May 1 when the 31-year-old meets Chris Arreola in California.
      Ahead of the fight, Ruiz Jr has switched up his training regime and shed two stone in comparison to his AJ loss.
      The Mexican-American weighed in at 268lbs when defeating Joshua and 283lbs in their December 2019 rematch.
      But, after a fresh image of the fighter was released by PBC/Fox, via Michael Benson, Ruiz Jr is down at 257lbs as the fight draws into view.
      Should he get back into winning form, a potential showdown with Dillian Whyte is on the cards – as revealed by SunSport earlier this month.
      Ruiz Jr will face veteran championship contender Arreola in confident mood having revamped his training routine.

      Tyson looked to be having a great time as he played golf with what appeared to be a joint in his mouth.
      The former heavyweight king looked in top shape as well and was dressed in a skin tight black jumper that showed off his build.
      The chess and golf was all filmed by ex-UFC star Henry Cejudo.
      The former Olympic gold medallist wrote on Instagram: “It’s an honor to be invited to the man’s house who’s cut from the same cloth as me. @schwarzenegger you are The American Dream.”
      And Arnie even let Cejudo wield his 27inch long Conan sword.
      Tyson recently appeared on wrestling promotion AEW after officially joining the ‘Inner Circle’.

      Khan, who has not boxed since July 2019, has his own special luxury collection of supercars, including a £271,000 Lamborghini Aventador, £233,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom and a £65,000 Range Rover.
      Last year, it was reported that he was seeking to add a Rolls-Royce Cullinan to his car collection that has a starting price of £264,000.
      Khan is currently starring in BBC reality TV show Meet the Khans: Big in Bolton.

      Six months later the pair rematched in Saudi Arabia, with Joshua re-claiming his belts via a unanimous decision victory.
      And Fury, who is waiting on an announcement for his hotly-anticipated undisputed clash with AJ, finally came face to face with the Mexican-American at an event which was hosted by a boxing friend of both Ruiz and The Gypsy King.
      Ruiz posted a series of pictures with Fury on social media alongside the caption: “Had the pleasure of meeting my brother in Christ.”
      The pair also spoke at the Nevada-based charity occasion about the struggles they have faced in their lives.
      Fury began: “I became world heavyweight champion in 2015, within six months I was back down to nothing again.
      “I had a lot of mental health problems, depressed, anxiety, struggling with alcohol and drug abuse. And I didn’t wanna live anymore, I tried to take my own life.
      “A few years later, I asked God to help me in my life and asked for forgiveness.
      And Ruiz then went on to add: “It just feels so good to express what we’ve all been through.

      “Anything is possible. No-one believed I would become heavyweight champion of the world, being overweight, being chubby.
      “But I kept praying to God and I ended up becoming the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the world.”
      The boxing world is waiting on a date and venue to be confirmed for Fury-Joshua, with Saudi Arabia looking the likely location and July 24 the muted day.
