Tommy Fury to return to the ring on Daniel Dubois undercard on June 5 in front of 1,000 fans, confirms Frank Warren

TOMMY FURY will make his return on June 5 in front of 1,000 fans, with Daniel Dubois headlining the event. Fury, brother to WBC heavyweight champion Tyson, last boxed in February with an emphatic knockout over journeyman Scott Williams.

And his sixth professional bout has been pencilled in for next month against an unnamed opponent.
His promoter confirmed 1,000 fans will be in attendance, but a venue is also yet to be announced.
Dubois, 23, also marks his comeback by facing experienced heavyweight campaigner Bogdan Dinu.
The Brit has spent the last seven months recovering from a gruesome eye injury suffered in his loss to Joe Joyce.
Joyce, 35, battered Dubois’ eye and caused a cracked socket and bleed on the retina as he took a knee and was counted out in round 11.
But he will jump straight in with a WBA interim title fight against Dinu.
The Romanian, 34, has been in with the likes of Jarrell Miller, 32, and Kubrat Pulev, 40, in recent years, losing both.
Dubois and Dinu will have the chance to put themselves in line for a shot at Anthony Joshua’s title or the ‘Regular’ belt held by Manuel Charr.

Fury, who featured on Love Island in 2019, has been training out in America with his brother Tyson, 32.
Firstly they were in Las Vegas, before jetting off to Texas for Billy Joe Saunders’ fight and now they are enjoying the Miami sun.
And while in southeastern Florida, Fury claimed he was on the search for Jake Paul at the YouTuber’s gym.
The celebrity pair have feuded online and the light-heavyweight wanted to take matters into his own hands with a face-to-face talk.

Sam Eggington delighted with ‘better than expected’ career as he gears up for war with grizzled veteran Carlos Molina

SAM EGGINGTON is under no illusions about the direction of his storybook career so far.The Birmingham brawler just wants to continue nabbing every opportunity he can.
The 27-year-old has already fought 36 times as a professional, topped the bill on more than one occasion for Matchroom and will be headlining his second consecutive fight night under the Mick Hennessy banner this weekend.
Sam Eggington takes on Carlos Molina on May 22 on Channel 5Credit: Hennessy Sports
Sam Eggington was last in the ring in December, when he beat Ashley TheophaneCredit: Hennessy Sports
Eggington comes up against former super-welterweight champion Carlos Molina, in a fight which should see both styles blend beautifully in a middleweight clash for the WBC Silver strap.
Having picked up the BBBofC fight of the year award last year for his clash with Ted Cheeseman, before going on to stop Floyd Mayweather stablemate Ashley Theophane in December, Eggington wants to put on a show once again.
Molina, who has fought the likes of Ishe Smith, Erislandy Lara, James Kirland and Josh Kelly, will step into the ring at the Coventry Skydome to try to stop Eggington in his tracks.
But Eggington will be having none of it.
He told SunSport: “I’m obviously predicting a win. Plan A is the stoppage and if we get to plan B then fine. But I’m going for the stoppage.

“It’s hard to say if he’s the best but he’s definitely the most experienced I’ve fought. Is he the best? I’m not sure.
“I’ve been in with bigger punchers, I’ve been in with better boxers but it depends, I’m sure he can mix it up and he’s still probably one of the best I’ve fought.
“But I’m always working on boxing, I’ve neglected it in the past and if it comes down to a dog-fight then I’ll bring it. I’m not going to back off and get nervous about it. I can have a tear up just fine.
“I’ve got to win as a world title has got to be the aim, I’ve done everything else. If I’m not looking for a world title then I’m just here to get punched in the face aren’t I? So I’ve got to have that ambition of picking up a world title.
“I’ll be very unhappy if I retired without even having the opportunity to box for a world title, that’s definitely the aim.

“This fight is for the WBC Silver at 160lbs, it was an opportunity I couldn’t not take. I’ll win it well and then we’ll see what comes up after but I’ve always just rolled with the punches.”
Roll with the punches Eggington certainly has. He’s endured some tough, gruelling losses in his career, none more so than his shock defeat to Hassan Mwakinyo in 2018.
But he also has some nice, glossy wins on his resume, including one against former world champion Paulie Malignaggi on the David Haye-Tony Bellew undercard.
Eggington admits he’s never been one to watch his previous performances, or analyse fighting styles. He doesn’t even like watching boxing on the weekends for the most-part.
“The only way I can explain it is I can’t imagine a chef coming home from work and wanting to cook a fancy dinner,” Eggington laughs. “I’m not bothered about watching boxing at home.
“I enjoy watching, sometimes on a weekend I’ll think ‘I can’t wait for this one’ but other times my missus will say ‘ain’t the boxing on tonight?’ And I’ll say ‘yeah but so is Coronation Street…’.
Sam Eggington is hoping to secure a world title shot with a win over Carlos MolinaCredit: Getty
Sam Eggington beat Paulie Malignaggi by stoppage back in 2017Credit: Getty
“I’m not one of those that pays for all the pay-per-views, I’m a bit of a casual fan really. Some people love it and it helps them.
“As soon as I knew the outcome, there’s no chance I’m watching it back. I’m not interested in watching it. I know it’s odd but the most boxing I’ve ever watched was the contender series when I was 12 years old. I used to love that s**t I swear to God.
“I’ve been top of the bill and on PPV shows but it doesn’t really register with me, I’ve loved this and wanted to do this my whole life so I’m not really phased by it all and I certainly don’t need to watch fights back. It’s never affected me.”
Eggington is as rough as they come in the ring. He knows he’ll never be polished, but the confidence remains he’ll get to fight for an elusive world title at some point down the road.
Sam Eggington has won the British, Commonwealth and European titles in his careerCredit: Hennessy Sports
After all, the plan when he turned professional was to show up on small-hall shows and play the journeyman part for his entire career.
For the best, it hasn’t worked out like that. Eggington has achieved way more than he ever thought was possible, winning British, Commonwealth and European titles along the way.
“When I turned pro I wanted to be a journeyman, I was all set to do that,” he adds. “I was never going to be a Mayweather and win 50 fights outright. It’s been rocky and there have been fights I shouldn’t have lost, but it’ll make for a great book one day.
“My career has been better than expected. When I won the Midlands title it was better than I expected. I was a kid with little amateur background, it was all juniors then I decided to turn over so I could earn some dough.
“If I could box like Canelo Alvarez tomorrow then I would. But that’s just not how it works. I’ll just keep on taking the opportunities presented to me.”
Sam Eggington vs Carlos Molina is live and FREE on Channel 5 from 10pm on Saturday May 22. More

Hearn warns Fury camp must resolve Wilder issue this week or Joshua turns to Usyk but hopes all-Brit fight still on

EDDIE HEARN has warned Tyson Fury must resolve his trilogy issue with Deontay Wilder this week – or else they turn to Oleksandr Usyk. It comes after a US judge ruled in favour of Wilder in arbitration, meaning Fury owes the American a third fight in their series.

Anthony Joshua’s fight with Tyson Fury has now been thrown in doubtCredit: PA
AJ and the Gypsy King were all-but ready to put every heavyweight belt on the line on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.
And Hearn, a driving force in securing a deal for the all-British unification, hopes the historic clash can still be saved.
But he admitted it is out of his hands and is lining up a backup option in Usyk, 34, who is currently Joshua’s WBO mandatory challenger.
Hearn said on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel: “I have been focusing on Plan A. The only fight we had our mind on was Tyson Fury.
“We hope that that fight can still take place on August 14th.
“The game changed last night where we have to have a plan B in place, and probably a plan C as well.
“We have a couple of different options; of course, the one that springs to mind immediately is the WBO mandatory of Oleksandr Usyk.
“They have been quite patient and I think really, we are in a situation where if Team Fury don’t get themselves together, get their act together, by the end of this week, we will have no option but to look for an alternative fight.”

Fury, 32, dethroned Wilder, 35, of the WBC belt in February 2020 but their contract included an immediate rematch.
That never came to fruition amid the coronavirus pandemic and the Gypsy King’s team argued the stipulation expired in October.
As a result, they entered talks with Joshua, 31, all while Wilder took his case to civil court.
And after months the decision went his way, meaning Fury is faced with either fighting him or negotiating a step aside deal.
But his US promoter Bob Arum has thrown further doubt in the hopes of a Battle of Britain after insisting they will not give Wilder a penny to sit out.
Arum told ESPN: “We’re not paying Wilder to step aside. It’s better to get rid of him. We can make Fury vs AJ for November or December.”
The veteran promoter also revealed he has reserved the new 65,000-seater Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for July 24 should Fury have to box Wilder again.
Hearn is arming himself with cover too, having entered talks with Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk but fears full fan capacity in the UK will not be guaranteed.
Promoter Alex Krassyuk and Oleksandr UsykCredit: Mark Robinson
He said: “AJ wants to fight this summer, Oleksandr Usyk is the mandatory, we have two or three other options as well.
“In an ideal world, if the right deal could be done, to maintain those belts and to keep the Fury fight alive for December, but for the undisputed as well.
“I had a very good conversation this morning with Alex Krassyuk, he is a partner of ours and we have worked very well with Oleksandr Usyk and I was just very honest.
“I said to him, ‘Team Fury are trying to solve the issue, if they don’t, there’s a very good chance we could be fighting you.’
“So if we are all sensible, let’s move forward, let’s try and look at the options to get that locked in.
“Again, we are in a situation where we just don’t know how likely it is to get a full venue for August in the UK.
“That was one of the reasons it was ruled out for the Fury fight, we couldn’t get the confirmation from Wembley and other venues that we would be allowed full capacity.”

Tyson Fury’s team could be forced to pay Deontay Wilder more than £14 MILLION to step aside for Anthony Joshua fight

DEONTAY WILDER could be handed over £14MILLION by Tyson Fury’s team in order for his bout with Anthony Joshua to go ahead. The Gypsy King’s undisputed dust-up to face his British rival in August is in serious jeopardy after he was ordered to fight the Bronze Bomber for a third time.

After being dethroned by the unbeaten Mancunian in February, the former WBC heavyweight champion was eligible to invoke a third meeting against Fury.
But injuries and the coronavirus pandemic delayed the fight, with Team Fury claiming in October that the contract for a trilogy had expired.
However, a US judge has now decided, following an arbitration, that Wilder is legally due a third fight that must happen by September 15.
According to the Daily Mail, the American knockout specialist could be handed a step-aside fee of more than £14m, with Fury’s team confident an agreement can be reached.
With Fury’s potential fight against AJ to be worth around £200m, it has been said that handing over an eight-figure sum to Wilder is an expensive hit worth taking.
Speaking to the news outlet, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren said: “The arbitrator ruled in Deontay Wilder’s favour and that means he has ordered the rematch to take place.
“We obviously have to try to reach some accommodation with Wilder. If we can’t then Tyson has got to make a decision on whether he wants to fight him or not.”

Asked whether the priority is sorting out a bout between Fury and Joshua is the priority, he remarked: “Absolutely. That is what everyone wants, what the public wants, we all want to see it.

“But at the moment we have to deal with Wilder one way or another. We will work hard to make it happen to keep the fight on.
“He will have to be satisfied. We will have to have to satisfy him, and if it is a settlement he will want paying for it, no doubt about that.”
Though Top Rank promoter Bob Arum – who handles the affairs of Fury in the US – has stated that the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas has been reserved for July 24.
He told ESPN: “We’re not paying Wilder to step aside. It’s better to get rid of him and go about our business.
“We can make the Fury-Joshua fight for November or December.”

Fury vs Joshua in real doubt as Bob Arum confirms he WON’T pay Wilder to step aside and even sets July 24 trilogy date

TYSON FURY’S undisputed clash against Anthony Joshua looks to be in severe doubt for August with a third fight against Deontay Wilder reportedly being planned for July.Fury and AJ have been busy plotting their Saudi Arabia straightener since June, even promising a double-header before 2022

‼️ Bob Arum has revealed that Top Rank have reserved July 24th at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III. He said: “We’re not paying Wilder to step aside. It’s better to get rid of him. We can make Fury vs AJ for November or December.” [@ESPN]— Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) May 18, 2021

But a US judge has now decided, following an arbitration, that Wilder is legally due a third fight that must happen by September.
Fury battered the American to his first ever defeat in February last year to become the WBC heavyweight champion.
There was a rematch clause in the deal that Wilder has refused to give up on despite Team Fury claiming it had expired.
Now Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum is planning for Wilder first, to take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on July 24.
He told ESPN: “We’re not paying Wilder to step aside. It’s better to get rid of him. We can make Fury vs AJ for November or December.”
Unless Team Fury win an appeal, the only way to secure the biggest fight in British boxing history will be paying Wilder off and, based on earnings from that last Las Vegas battle, that could be up to £8million.
AJ promoter Eddie Hearn has previously claimed that Wilder’s legal claim would pose no problem but he has also insisted that Joshua would refuse to contribute anything to the fee needed to buy Wilder out, which SunSport believes Fury will argue against.
But Arum’s latest words cast fresh doubt that Wilder can be shifted to one side to allow for the all-British clash.

There could now be talks between Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk, who is the WBO mandatory challenger.
Speaking to the Express, Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk has stated he will sit down with Eddie Hearn to discuss a potential fight.
He said: “The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes this morning was several texts on my phone from different people around the world stating the same fact: Fury versus AJ is off. It is off.
“Regarding Usyk, it depends. I will speak to Eddie in one hour, we have already exchanged texts this morning.
“It looks like we have a fight to make. We have agreed to speak in one hour when things will become clearer.
“Usyk is mandatory for WBO and the only obstacle that made them sanction the interim was the huge unification between Fury and Joshua.
“And if the fight is off then there is no other obstacles and Joshua has to deal with his mandatory.”

Wilder suddenly started training seriously again earlier this month and, worryingly for UK fight fans, already looks ready for a comeback bout
Former heavyweight world champ David Haye saw this coming last month when he told SunSport: “I have never heard of a long-running world champion – like Deontay Wilder was – not having a rematch clause in place in case he loses.”
“Deontay himself has been very quiet, the team around him have not given much away but I would be very surprised if does not have some sort of impact in the making of this fight or gets something out of it not being him Fury is facing next.

Meet Gerald Tucker, Floyd Mayweather’s unknown coach who retired undefeated after brother’s murder and pals with 50 Cent

GERALD TUCKER might have the easiest job in the history of boxing. If you thought Andy Ruiz Jr’s chef ahead of the Anthony Joshua rematch was nicking a living – or Mike Tyson’s dressing gown designer was getting money for old towel – Tucker might have it sewn up even better.
Floyd Mayweather pictured with new trainer Gerald Tucker
Because the American former fighter is the man in charge of training 50-0 ring legend Floyd Mayweather for his sham showdown with 0-1 YouTuber Logan Paul.
The five-weight legend takes on the blond-mulleted professional prankster on June 6 in one of the most overmatched bouts in boxing history.
Since this is the first Floyd ‘bout’ since his brilliant uncle and trainer Roger Mayweather sadly died in March 2020, the Money Man has had to employ a new cornerman.
And Tucker has landed the cushiest gig in the hurt business as 44-year-old Floyd could win this fight with a couple of limbs tied behind his back.
The ring icon and Tucker, who retired as a fighter with a 7-0-1 record, go way back to the 1996 Olympic team where Mayweather left with a bronze medal.
Tucker made his pro debut in 2000 and had six fights in one year before leaving the sport after being hit by personal tragedy.
In August 2001, at the weigh-in for his Utah fight with Jose Castro, Tucker took a phone call that would end his promising young career. Back home in Cincinnati, Tucker’s brother had been shot and killed.
Incredibly the hot prospect managed to compose himself and score a first-round KO that meant he could race the 1,600 miles home ASAP.

It wasn’t long before fighters noticed Tucker could still cut it with the 8oz gloves, let alone the pads and spit bucket, so he made a brief but cathartic return to the ring

The Mayweather protege dubbed ‘About Billions’ looked hellbent on wrecking his career through inactivity, addiction and diet. But Tucker guided him to a comeback win in February after he had spent two years out of the ring and had fans worried for his life, let alone his career.

Josh Taylor vs Jose Carlos Ramirez tale of the tape: How fighters compare for UNDISPUTED title clash this weekend

JOSH TAYLOR is looking to become Scotland’s first undisputed world champion since 1971 when he faces Jose Carlos Ramirez at the weekend. The 30-year-old puts his super-lightweight IBF and WBA straps on the line in Las Vegas where is looking to win the WBC and WBO straps held by his American rival.
Here’s how the two fighters compare ahead of their undisputed super-lightweight title fight
Should Taylor emerge victorious in Sin City, he would become Scotland’s second undisputed champion, and first in 50 years.
Ken Buchanan created history in 1971 when he beat Ruben Navarro for the WBA and WBC lightweight tiles, and Taylor is looking to follow in his footsteps.
But he knows he will have to be at his best if he wishes to inflict a first professional defeat for Ramirez on Saturday night.
Here SunSport breaks down how the two compare ahead of the blockbuster bout.
Ramirez has age on his side as he is two years younger than Taylor, and he also is more experienced in the paid ranks having made his debut three years before the Tartan Tornado.
Unbeaten JCR, 28, has been involved in 26 fights – nine more than Taylor – with the California native winning all of his contests.
He has stopped 17 of his opponents before the final bell, thought he has recorded just one knockout win from his last five bouts.

Both men stand at 5ft 10in, but it is Ramirez who has the reach advantage in their contest.
Taylor has already set his sights on facing his idol Manny Pacquiao providing he comes out on top at the weekend.
Speaking last month, the Hibernian fan stated that his camp couldn’t have went better as he stated he will be too good for Ramirez.
He said: “I’m flying – I’m way ahead of schedule. My weight is bang on target and I’m hitting PBs in the gym.
“I’m absolutely smashing the numbers and I just can’t wait to get over there now.

“It’s been a long 12-week camp and I just want to get over to the sunshine and get down to work.
“I’ve done all my homework on Ramiriz. He doesn’t really do anything in his fights.
