Anthony Joshua joins Dillian Whyte in calling Tyson Fury ‘Luke’ after claims he changed his name to sound ‘harder’

ANTHONY JOSHUA has joined heavyweight rival Dillian Whyte in calling Tyson Fury ‘Luke’ after it was claimed he changed his name. The WBO, WBA and IBF champion was involved in a Twitter spat with the Gypsy King on Wednesday as they clashed over their undisputed fight being in jeopardy.

Fury’s undisputed bout with AJ is in doubt due to Deontay Wilder being contracted to fight the Gypsy King for a third timeCredit: Instagram @gypsyking101
The British pair were set to meet on August 14 in the Middle East, but their bout is in serious danger of not happening due to Deontay Wilder being contractually tied to a trilogy bout with Fury.
A US judge has decided, following an arbitration, that the Bronze Bomber is legally due a third fight that must happen by September 15.
It has been claimed that the American could be handed step-aside money in order for Fury’s dust-up with AJ to take place.

Joshua took to social media to express his anger at the situation as he labelled Fury as a ‘fraud’, leading the unbeaten Mancunian to challenge him to a bare-knuckle fight.
To which the 2012 Olympic gold medallist said: “If there was an arbitration going on, why announce to the world we are fighting!
“The fight was signed! UNDISPUTED. Bare knuckle? You’re a good kid, don’t play with me Luke! I’ll slap your bald head & you’ll do nothing! Waste man.”
Joshua has followed former foe Whyte in calling Fury ‘Luke’, with the Body Snatcher declaring that the WBC king changed his name to Tyson to sound ‘harder’.
Speaking to SunSport in December, the former British champ remarked: “My real name is Dillian. I know his real name is Luke.

“People can have a little look around on the internet and see for themselves.
“In boxing, the name Tyson is a lot more sellable than Luke.
“A lot of what Tyson does and says is a game, you can never take anything he says seriously or at face value.
“He might say he wants to fight me sometimes but how can you trust a man who doesn’t even use his own name?”

Josh Taylor crowned undisputed super-lightweight champion after beating Jose Ramirez on points with two knockdowns

JOSH TAYLOR is the undisputed PHWOAR-belt king of the super-lightweight division. In just his 18th pro fight, the Scotland icon snatched the WBC and WBO belts from American Jose Ramirez, in his Las Vegas backyard with a unanimous decision.

The 30-year-old southpaw dropped the 26-0 ace twice, in rounds six and seven, before completing the collection by adding to his WBA and IBF crowns.
The Tartan Tornado roared: “I’m ecstatic. I’ve trained my whole life for this. I’ve dedicated my whole life for this moment.
“I’ve dreamt of it so many times over, man. I’m so, so happy. I’m over the moon. I’ve trained for this moment all my life.”
“I’ve got nothing but love for Ramirez. This week was no disrespect.
“It was all part of the mind games to get in his head, to make him more eager to jump in at me and be more aggressive, to use his aggression against him.

“I thought the scorecards were a little tight. I thought they were well wider than that. I wasn’t too happy with the selection of the judges, but I wasn’t going to moan.
“I was confident in winning this fight anyway.”

The Prestonpans superstar put on a masterclass of precious counter punching to drop his rock-hard opponent a couple of times.
And he danced and ducked out of danger for the final two rounds, safe in the knowledge he was on the cusp of something truly incredible.
The first decking came right at the start of the sixth when Ramirez tried to spring a surprise attack.
But Taylor slipped his shot and thumped home a left hand that folded the Mexican-American into the canvas.

Ramirez, who had been down twice before but never beaten, beat referee Kenny Bayliss’ count with superb courage.
But he was back on the canvas moments later in the seventh when Taylor scorched him with an uppercut.
After trading blows in the pocket, Ramirez took a step back and gave Taylor the space to slash a left hand up and through his guard.
The fall was heavy but again the proud father refused to be counted out and bounced up to continue piling on pressure.
Thankfully for Taylor, he had robbed Ramirez off his bite and he was able to coast the final few sessions, leaving the three ringside judges to score it 114-112.

England’s WBC world champion Tyson Fury was ringside, after revealing to the world he had signed the contract for the third Deontay Wilder fight, instead of the undisputed Anthony Joshua battle.
And the Gypsy King enjoyed watching the action as his fellow Brit beat him to supreme status of undisputed champ.
And, after a spiteful build-up in which Taylor shoved Ramirez and his trash- talking manager, the respect after the final bell was typically exquisite for a fight of this elite level.

Anthony Joshua ordered to face Oleksandr Usyk after Tyson Fury dream died with pair having just TEN days to negotiate

ANTHONY JOSHUA’S scrap with Tyson Fury is now on the backburner after the British champ was ordered to face Oleksandr Usyk. WBA, IBF and WBO champion AJ was given a 48-hour deadli to salvage his planned clash with the WBC title holder Fury by the WBO on Wednesday.

It hasn’t been met and therefore the WBO have stepped in demanding AJ needs to fulfil his mandatory defence against Usyk.
And they have put extra pressure on the fighters to secure the deal by handing them just 10 days to negotiate.
If a deal can’t be landed in that time, a purse bid ceremony will be called immediately per WBO rules.
TalkSPORT’s boxing editor Michael Benson confirmed the update and wrote on Twitter: “The WBO have now officially ordered Anthony Joshua to defend his unified heavyweight titles vs Oleksandr Usyk next.
“The two sides have ten days to reach a deal, or purse bids will be called.”
AJ and Fury finally looked set to lock horns with the Battle of Britain on August 14.
But a Court of Arbitration ordered Fury to fulfil his contractual demands to fight Deontay Wilder for a third and final time.
Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum then confirmed Wilder will not agree to ‘step aside’ to allow the Joshua fight to happen – even though AJ offered to set up a £20m GoFundMe page to raise the dosh.

Joshua appeared to confirm that his focus has switched to fighting the Ukrainian in a Snapchat post on Friday.
AJ shared a shot of himself at the end of a previous fight looking into the crowd, with Usyk sat staring straight back at him.
He captioned the photo with the words: “Everyday is war.”
And Usyk’s promoter has told Sky Sports that Wembley Stadium could be the venue for an August bout between his man and the Brit.

Alexander Krassyuk said: “WBO has to issue the official enforcement for the mandatory today.
“According to my knowledge, AJ is ready to take the challenge.
“It may happen anywhere including Wembley, but yet no serious venue commitments have been made.” More

Tyson Fury’s son Prince John James poses with WWE chief Vince McMahon and teases career in wrestling

Fury’s appearance came with a huge payday after he reportedly pocketed around £12million for his efforts.
It appears his son, Prince John James, is eager to follow in his footsteps after the duo enjoyed some father and son bonding time at WrestleMania.
Prince, aged nine, is in American with Fury as he trains for his potentially doomed showdown with Anthony Joshua.
After attending WWE WrestleMania Backlash, Prince got the chance to mingle with wrestling’s biggest names including Rey Mysterio and chief Vince McMahon.
Fury uploaded a picture to his Instagram followers of his son and McMahon backstage.
He captioned it: “the big boss man @wwe I’m coming for that contract in a few years boss.”
It would have been a welcome break for Fury following the farce that surrounds his Battle of Britain with Joshua.
The August 14 Saudi showdown has been plunged in doubt after the Court of Arbitration ruled Fury must fulfill his contractual demands and fight his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder.

Tyson Fury and Prince have been enjoying some bonding time in America

The Gypsy King then claimed the Bronze Bomber wanted £14million to let him fight AJ first.
Fury scoffed at such an arrangement – so the trilogy fight seems back on, 18 months after he stopped Wilder in seven rounds.
Fury’s promoter Bob Arum told ESPN: “We’re not paying Wilder to step aside.
“It’s better to get rid of him. We can make Fury vs AJ for November or December.”

Mayweather, 44, posted a video of himself promoting the product.
He spoke directly to camera urging his 25million followers to sign up to FloydNFT.
And he captioned the post: “Get ready for my first NFT drop May 26.
“ONLY athlete to make a billion dollars without any endorsement deals. #SelfMade #TMT #TBE.”
Bitcoin has helped create a new world of digital currencies and now attention is turning to a new trend, non-fungible tokens or NFTS.
Artists and musicians such as Beeple, Grimes and Kings of Leon are turning to the tokens to sell their work, but what is an NFT?
Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are digital coins that are stored and can be used to make payments through online technology called the blockchain.
Each coin has its own unique code that is stored securely on the blockchain and the same technology has been used in the development of NFTs.

Cryptocurrencies are really collections of computer code but coins such as Bitcoin or Dogecoin have recognisable logos.
An NFT provides something different as it digitises a piece of work such as art or music and turns it into a non-fungible token that is stored on the blockchain.
That means it cannot be replicated and is unique to whoever owns it.
Crypto commentator Jonathan Marriott said NFTs provide a legitimate way of verifying ownership and tracking the origins of an item.
He said: “An NFT lets you record where and when something is made and track the whole process to verify that it is legitimate.
“The public blockchain element makes it irrefutbale. No-one can fake it.”
Earlier this week, Mayweather was pictured spattered with blood as he trains for his exhibition bout with YouTuber Logan Paul next month.
He will pit his wits against his American compatriot in a six-round contest at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 6.
And the 1996 Olympic bronze medallist – who won 15 world titles across across five weight classes – is looking in incredible shape for the dust-up.
Mayweather is even taking part in gruelling sparring sessions, as shown by his latest Instagram post where he has blood splattered across him.
Captioning the image of him, he said: “This s*** is blood, sweat, and tears for me.”
His fans were loving the dedication he is showing, with Mayweather set to earn around £72million for his clash against Paul.

The showdown is one every boxing fan is looking forward to.
Here SunSport takes a look at how the two men shape-up against each other:
    RECORDS
Pacman is the sport’s only eight-division world champion ever.
He appeared to have bowed out in style when he defeated Thurman two years ago to become the sport’s oldest welterweight champion.
That left him with an impressive record of 62 wins out of his 71 fights.
Spence, meanwhile, is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet.
The 31-year-old has continued to win since knocking out Kell Brook in 2017, defeating Lamont Peterson, Carlos Ocampo, Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia.
Spence is an undefeated, unified champ with a 27-0 record.
BETTING SPECIAL – GET 25/1 ON SALAH TO SCORE AGAINST CRYSTAL PALACE

    AGE & EXPERIENCE
At the age of 42, there is no doubt that Pacquiao holds the advantage when it comes to experience.
Spence Jr is 11 years his junior and that should ensure he also holds the speed advantage.
And some feel that Pacman may now just be a little too old to get the better of the American.
    KOs
Pacquiao’s power helped him to become a huge favourite with fans across the globe but that appears to have waned with age.
In fact, he has only won once via knockout in the last 12 years.
On the other hand, Spence has amassed an impressive 21 knockouts out of his 27 victories.
