    What have they said?
“I’m very excited to be making my third world title defense against a great fighter like Jorge Linares, who will be the best fighter I will have ever faced in my career,” Haney said.
“He’s a three-division world champion who has fought at the championship level for the past thirteen years.
“I grew up watching Linares, and the fact that this fight is happening in Las Vegas is incredible.”
Linares said: “This is my moment to show the world that I still have a lot more to give at 135 pounds.
“Devin Haney is a talented and quick-handed young man, but when I was his age, I had already become a world champion by snatching the title away from a real world champion like Oscar Larios.”

Undisputed king Josh Taylor calls for Terence Crawford revenge mission as Scot is welcomed home a hero after Ramirez win

BRAVEHEART Josh Taylor wants a Scottish revenge mission against fellow undisputed king Terence Crawford in 2022.The Prestonpans ace grabbed all four super-lightweight titles on Saturday night with a masterful points win over 26-0 Mexican-American Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas.
Josh Taylor has unified the lightweight division in just his 18th fight – so rightly celebrated with his team

The 18-0 icon is now one of the biggest draws in world boxing and, once the 30-year-old overcomes a mandatory defence against fellow Brit Jack Catterall this summer, will be able to cherry pick his opposition from a long queue.
And 33-year-old Omaha icon Crawford, who beat Ricky Burns in Glasgow in 2014 to get his first title en route to 10st immortality, is high on the Tartan Tornado’s hit list.
“Crawford would be an amazing fight,” the sensational southpaw said.
“He was the last guy to become undisputed champion at 140lbs and he seems to be struggling for a dance partner at the minute.
“I would happily take that fight and it’s one that I would be confident of winning as well. I would take it in a heartbeat.
“Of course I would love to get revenge for his win over Ricky, I’d love to fight him and I really think I have got the potential and the makings to beat him.
“I have got every tool in the box to beat him. I’d back myself against any fighter so that is a very good fight if it does happen.”
Taylor’s heavy hands and utterly ruthless streak had plenty of British fight fans backing him for a fruitful KO win, especially in the second half of the fight when pressure fighter Ramirez would have tired.

And the motorbike nut came agonisingly close when a pinpoint seventh-round uppercut folded Ramirez into the canvas, only for some fishy refereeing from Kenny Bayless to allow him extra time to recover.
And Taylor reveals how much he felt the Sin City odds were stacked against him.
He said: “I think Kenny Baylss robbed me of a knockout victory.
“Especially that second knockdown. That second knockdown was about 20 seconds. It was unbelievable.
“When I went to go for him again, Bayless was making me go back to my corner, making sure he was alright and shoving me back into the corner again. It was scandalous.

“I had it all stacked against me for this trip.
“They tried to make me go to Mexico for two weeks, the week before I went out, they were telling me I had to go to Mexico for two weeks to quarantine somewhere.
“And two of the judges had scored the Ramirez vs Victor Postol fight wide to Ramirez so I was worried about that.
“But I wasn’t going to complain because there was no point rubbing them up the wrong way and they might try and do me over.
“Then the next one was Kenny Bayliss. I know what he’s like, I like to fight inside and stuff like that. They’re doing everything in their power here, trying to stack everything against me.
“I had five opponents; three judges, Ramirez and Kenny Bayliss, all against me. And I beat them all.
“They tried to do everything in their power to make me not be successful, that’s what it felt like. But there was no question who the winner was.
“There was absolutely no question who the winner was. I’m very proud of that. They tried to stack it up against me and I beat them against all the odds.”

AJ’s canned clash with Tyson Fury has opened the door for a new opponent this summer.
Fury has already signed up for a third fight against Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas.
And Joshua has been ordered to take on mandatory challenge Oleksandr Usyk.
However, former foe Ruiz Jr is eager for another crack at the British champ.

Ruiz Jr famously inflicted AJ’s first defeat in New York two years ago to take his belts.
But Joshua struck back in a Saudi Arabia rematch six months later, reclaiming his lost crown.
It’s believed AJ’s promoter Hearn must organise a fight with Usyk before May 31.
But after revealing Ruiz Jr has been in touch to throw his hat in the ring, Hearn insists he will choose the best fight for Joshua.

Hearn told iFL TV: “In an ideal world, if there’s good business to be done with Usyk, it’s got to be good business for him as well, that’s the fight next.
“I wouldn’t rule out any scenario at the moment for Joshua. We’ve probably got ten days to decide what we’re going to do.
“There’s quite a few options. If you’re going to America, he’s already messaged me, it’s like deja vu, Ruiz.
“He messaged me on Instagram and said: ‘I’m ready, let’s do this, AJ vs Ruiz three’.
“That’s a fight I think we’d be interested in, if you’re going to America, Luis Ortiz is another guy you could fight.
“If you’re doing the UK, I don’t know… Dillian Whyte, that’s a fight to make.”

That is scheduled for July 24 with the Anthony Joshua showdown shelved for now.
And the Gypsy King clearly feels relaxed and confident, taking to Instagram enjoying his pudding.
A video on his story showed a huge slab of cheesecake with dollops of cream and a few slices of banana – balanced diet and all that.
In another bowl, he had scoops of ice cream and more cream on top.
Fury said: “That time of the day guys, nice big dessert.
“That’s how much I’m preparing for Deontay Wilder.
“Because at the end of the day, he’s nothing more than a cheesecake himself.”
Fury has been hitting the gym hard of late, thinking he was getting ready to face AJ in August.

But an arbitration panel stated he must face Wilder for a third time next – with their bout set for Las Vegas two months from now.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn was left furious with the legal ruling.
The Matchroom chief blasted: “The whole thing absolutely stinks. AJ feels that Fury never wanted to fight, that Fury was just using his name for clout. I think there’s a very valid argument for that.
“I’d like to believe that Tyson Fury wants this fight, and wanted this fight, and basically was just f***** by others.”
After a controversial draw in their first dust-up, Fury stunned Wilder in part two last February with a brutal knockout win to claim the WBC heavyweight belt.
And the Gypsy King is planning to give his rival another ‘early night’ because he is ‘unfazed’ by the American.

Undisputed super-lightweight champ Josh Taylor says his belts have been LOST and claims they are ‘somewhere in Dallas’

UNDISPUTED super-lightweight champion Josh Taylor says his belts are LOST.The Scot claimed United Airlines have mislaid the championship straps and reckons they are ‘somewhere in Dallas’.
Josh Taylor says United Airlines have LOST his belts
Taylor twice knocked down American Jose Ramirez in Texas on Saturday night on his way to a surprisingly close 114-112 victory.
Taylor’s win saw him become the first ever undisputed British champion, with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua having to wait for their chance to match the feat.
He is delighted by his achievements but does not have the bling to show for it at the moment.
Asked by Sky Sports where his belts are, Taylor laughed and admitted he has no idea.
He said: “I don’t know, you’d better ask United Airlines. I think they’re somewhere in Dallas still.
“They’ve lost my bloody belts! We’re waiting on them to come in.
“But do you know what? Nothing is going to take this smile off my face.
“It’s going to take a lot to wipe this smile and put a dampener on things, I’m the happiest man alive at the minute.”

SunSport has contacted United Airlines for comment.
After the fight, Taylor laid down the gauntlet and said he wants a huge clash with Terence Crawford.
He said: “I’d like to go up to 147 and chase a real, real big fight like Terence Crawford.
“I’m not gonna sit and call him out and stuff, I think he’s a great fighter, but I just think, two undisputed champions going at it at 147 would be awesome, amazing.”
Crawford himself has had his say, however, and doesn’t think that Taylor is quite ready to move up.
Asked who he’d like to face next the American, 33, told FightHype: “I would pick Manny Pacquiao.
“Josh Taylor’s still got unfinished business at 140, he shouldn’t be thinking about me right now.”
The 37-0 superstar last fought in November, when he dispatched of Taylor’s fellow Brit Kell Brook in four rounds.
Whether or not it’s Crawford, Taylor is excited and ready for what’s next.
He added: “I’m not going to be short of options now, every fight is going to be huge. We’ll take it and see what comes my way, we’ll just ride the wave.”

Frank Warren slams promoter rival Eddie Hearn and blames his motormouth on Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fight collapse

FRANK WARREN reckons Eddie Hearn’s motormouth contributed to the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury super-fight turning into a car crash.AJ’s Matchroom promoter was the relentless driving force behind the very-public plans to make the biggest fight in British boxing history in Saudi Arabia this summer.

Warren accused Matchroom promoter Hearn of breaching agreements they hadCredit: Mark Robinson Matchroom Boxing
But the five-month long saga went up on Smoke last Monday when Deontay Wilder won an arbitration case that entitled him to a third fight with the Gypsy King.
Hearn is understandably gutted at the disaster and has blamed Warren, Fury’s UK promoter, and his US matchmaker Bob Arum for letting him believe the case was a formality.
But hall-of-famer Warren, who was labeled negative for his sober interviews in the build-up, reckons Hearn’s daily updates about the absolute 100 per cent certainty of the fight happening, annoyed US judge Daniel Weinstein.
He said: “At the start of the year, all parties involved in the fight – fighters, promoters, managers – all signed a contract as to how the negotiations would take place.
“In that agreement there was a clause that made it very clear there was an arbitration situation going on as far as Tyson is concerned – so everyone was aware of it and that we were awaiting the outcome of that.
“There was another clause in there regarding confidentiality and that we would make announcements together, so that we would all be on the same page.
“Within a very short space of time, Eddie Hearn breached that agreement by making announcements.
“Every week there was something, announcements about announcements, the fight is done and so forth.

“That was totally untrue. The fight wasn’t done, it wasn’t signed and every time I did an interview I just said the truth.
“All these announcements, that were being made on a regular basis by Hearn, I don’t think helped and caused a lot of confusion.”
When AJ spent 18 months chasing former WBC king Wilder, to make him a four-belt king, Hearn regularly got frustrated with the American’s manager Shelly Finkel and hurled a few insults across the pond.
And Queensberry boss Warren wonders if that trash-talk also helped tip the heavyweight showdown in the bin.
‘I’M SURE HE WASN’T LOOKING TO DO HIM A FAVOUR’
He added: “Shelly Finkel and Al Haymon, who work with Wilder, were not interested in remuneration and said they wanted the fight.
“It probably didn’t help, all the disparaging remarks over the last couple of years Eddie Hearn has made about Shelly and all the names he has called him. I’m sure he wasn’t looking to do him a favour.”
Wilder, his financial backers and broadcasters would have been able to launch crippling legal action if the AJ and Fury clash went ahead.
But Warren claims AJ’s WBO mandatory challenger Oleksandr Usyk was preparing similar litigation, that was being covered up or ignored.
He said: “Usyk had written to the WBO – and subsequently all parties concerned – saying that they will be suing if the fight goes ahead.
“So even if we had won the arbitration we would still be sued by Usyk. There would have been an action and they would have been looking for injunctions to stop it.
“So that wasn’t dealt with or brought to anybody’s attention. Pot, kettle and all that from Hearn.
“One minute he is telling everybody I’m not involved at all in the negotiations – and now it is my fault.”

Jake Paul stealing Floyd Mayweather’s hat has sparked fire and he’s training for real fight, reveals sparring partner

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is ‘p****d off’ and has had a ‘fire lit under him’ after Jake Paul stole his hat. That’s the opinion of his long-time sparring partner Denis Douglin, who has been left shocked at Mayweather’s intense training to fight Jake’s brother Logan.
Floyd Mayweather is raging after Jake Paul ‘stole his hat’Credit: AFP
The two Americans will face off in an exhibition on June 6, with many scoffing that one of boxing’s best ever is doing rounds with a YouTuber.
But Mayweather is seemingly desperate to put on a show – and has been riled up by Logan’s boisterous brother Jake.
The social media star knicked Mayweather’s cap shortly after the boxing legend faced off with his elder brother Logan.
A mass brawl ensued and saw a fired-up Mayweather attack the younger Paul brother, who was left with a black eye.
And Mayweather’s current mood does not bode well come the first weekend in June according to Douglin.
Speaking via the Betway Insider blog, Douglin said: “I think Floyd thought taking his hat was disrespectful and it looks like it has lit a fire under him from what I saw at the gym.
“I was very impressed. I think that had to do with the Paul brothers p*****g him off.
“Floyd’s one of the greatest in the world – but I didn’t think that he was going to train intensely for this. But now they’ve p****d him off now, so he’s turning it up. What I saw today from Floyd was very impressive.

“I was blown away. I was kinda expecting him to do a cookie cutter workout, shadow box and spar someone really bad just to stay active. That’s what I was expecting.
“But I came into the gym at around midnight and the energy and atmosphere in the gym felt like a real Mayweather fight. Floyd looked great, man – he didn’t miss a beat.
“Still cocky, still having fun, still crafty – it was a real sight to see. Watching him get rounds of sparring, hitting the bag, on the pads – he had great energy. I learned a lot just watching that.”
Mayweather’s 50-0 unbeaten boxing record will not be on the line when he fights Logan Paul in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
The Money is putting in some serious training ahead of his fight against a YouTuber
But according to Douglin, The Money is determined to make his opponent ‘pay’ for his brother’s actions.
The 33-year-old New Yorker added: “Floyd was to be the best in the world and he retired.
“So while he’s not taking this fight with Logan Paul as seriously as a real fight against Errol Spence for example, he’s taking it as seriously as he needs to for what this fight is – which is for a kid who’s a little bit crazy and disrespectful, who does not understand the craft of boxing.
“Floyd’s going to teach him boxing’s an art. It does not matter if you’re bigger than me, or stronger than me because I have boxing skill.
“Floyd is one of the best technicians in the sport and I feel Floyd is taking that seriously.
“He has a need to show this kid boxing is about skills and not just a fight – it’s a science. 100 percent he’s going to make him pay.”

Tyson Fury planning to give Deontay Wilder ‘early night’ in trilogy fight and ‘not fazed’ by Anthony Joshua clash axe

Fury was set to fight Joshua in August only for a court to rule he must first honour his contract with WilderCredit: Instagram @anthonyjoshua
The Gypsy King, 32, had expected to take on AJ in an all-British heavyweight unification showdown in Saudi Arabia this August – arguably the biggest fight of the century.
But a court ruled he MUST instead honour his contract and fight Wilder for a third time on July 24 having drawn the first and won the rematch.
Now, a source close to Fury has told SunSport: “Tyson doesn’t mind having to fight Wilder.
“In fact he’s looking forward to showing people, once again, that he is a better fighter than Wilder.
“The world has seen, twice, that Wilder can’t live with his style.
“This time he wants to finish things early, give Wilder an early night so there is plenty in the tank to focus on training to take on AJ.”
The source continued by saying Fury never flinched at the prospect of fighting Wilder.
They claimed: “He’s never walked away from a challenge in his life.

“When it became clear Wilder wanted as much as £20m to stand aside there was no chance he was going to agree to it.
“Tyson is not in the habit of giving away his children’s inheritance.”
People close to Fury say he believes Wilder, 35, is now firmly on the back foot.
The source added: “Wilder expected Fury’s camp to try and pay him off.
“Wilder must have been hoping he could go and sit on a beach and wait for AJ and Tyson to fight twice and then take on the winner.
“Tyson has no intention of letting Wilder do that.
“Now he wants to end things and put this nonsense and put Wilder out of the picture for good.
“Then he can focus on what he believes will be the biggest fight Britain has ever witnessed.”
