Paige VanZant hoping to bounce back from Bare Knuckle debut defeat when she fights former UFC rival Rachael Ostovich

PAIGE VANZANT will rematch Rachael Ostovich – but this time in bare-knuckle boxing as the two ex-UFC rivals signed to fight. VanZant debuted in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in February but was beaten by Britain Hart.

But the result has not affected her star power having been lined up for a second consecutive headliner on July 23.
This time it will be against a familiar face in Ostovich, 30, who she beat in the octagon in 2019.
Ostovich, like VanZant, was also released by the UFC with the news confirmed in December after three straight losses.
She then penned a deal with BKBFC, leaving MMA with a 4-6 record.
Announcing the fight, VanZant, 27, posted: “Come for the boobies, stay for the violence.”
The American, who recently launched her own raunchy fan website, was beaten on points by Hart in her first BKBFC fight.
Her husband Austin Vanderford, a Bellator middleweight, helped her train for the sporting switch but admitted it was a hard watch.
He told MMA Fighting, he said: “It honestly felt like an MMA fight.

“Of course, there’s a little more at stake with the damage and it being a new venture, and whatnot.
“I was extremely proud, especially her last round I thought she really turned it on and it kind of showed what she can go forward and do in the fights to come.
“More than anything, her spirit wasn’t broken. We learned from it and there was definitely a learning curve.
“One of the biggest advantages in bare knuckle is just the experience, going in there and doing it because it’s different than what we’ve grown accustomed to.
“But I’m really confident, excited for her next fight and I was extremely proud.
“Of course we were both bummed out [about the result]. It felt like it was a fight she could win but going into it, Britain had the experience over her – I think it was her fourth or fifth fight – and it just was a big eye-opener.
“Even just the round lengths being so short, and just knowing how much we could put on the gas pedal from the opening minutes to the rest of the fight.
“But it was kind of hard to watch, for sure.”

Journeyman Bishop slams critics & reveals what motivates 0-14 boxer after ‘losing Tommy Fury fight’ amid Jake Paul jibes

JOURNEYMAN Andy Bishop has revealed what keeps winless boxers motivated despite the mocking they receive. The 38-year-old claims he thought he was set to be Tommy Fury’s next opponent – something Queensbury Promotions strongly deny – on June 5.

Once reports emerged over the alleged showdown, Fury’s bitter rival Jake Paul was quick to slam the quality of opponent for the Brit.
Bishop, a plant mechanic from Milnrow in Rochdale, quickly called out the outspoken YouTuber and challenged him to climb between the ropes.
But it did leave a question asked by many boxing fans – why bother?
Bishop admits money does come into it, but he explained how he is still learning himself with each fight in the sport he loves.
He told SunSport: “I only had one amateur and two white collar fights before turning pro at 37.
“So I’m up against massive challenges when I fight these lads with long amateur careers.
“But I’ve only been stopped twice. People kept saying I’d been knocked out twice but they were both poor stoppages and that was down to my lack of experience in not holding on.
“My trainer said to me from day one that I’d be learning on the job.

“I was sparring good pros and doing OK so they turned me pro and I have been learning.
“I got stopped in my second and third fight and it was purely through a lack of experience but I’ve never been hurt.”
He added: “I enjoy the sport and it’s a massive challenge to be fighting far more experienced lads far better than my own ability.
“And it’s all about my 18-month-old daughter. All the money I bring in is for her and our house. She is my motivation.”

A spokesperson for Frank Warren stressed to SunSport: “Mr Bishop was never once considered as an opponent for Tommy Fury by Frank Warren or Queensberry.
“No one at Queensberry, or on behalf of Queensberry, has ever approached Mr Bishop or anyone connected to Mr Bishop about fighting on any of our forthcoming promotions.
“Any suggestion otherwise is an outright falsehood. Mr Bishop’s manager will confirm this to be the case.

Eddie Hearn hits back over Anthony Joshua fight with Tyson Fury collapsing and rages ‘they f***ed up’ over deal

EDDIE HEARN raged that Tyson Fury’s team ‘f***ed up the biggest fight in history’ after the undisputed title decider with Anthony Joshua collapsed. AJ and Fury were set to put, for the first time in heavyweight history, all the belts on the line, with an agreed headliner of August 14 in Saudi Arabia.

But at the final hurdle, Deontay Wilder was awarded the right to a trilogy bout with the Gypsy King, putting an end to the all-British unification.
Hearn and Joshua were then left in the cold, as Wilder and Fury signed to a rematch on June 24 in Las Vegas.
The promoter lashed out at Bob Arum and Frank Warren for failing to make sure the Bronze Bomber’s arbitration case did not affect talks with Joshua.
Hearn told Boxing Social: “I feel like the sport’s been cheated. I feel like AJ’s been cheated because I failed.

“As I said in an interview, I can’t say that I succeeded, because yes I got the deal done, yes we did everything against the odds, but I didn’t get them in the ring.
“But I did everything I can and as long as you can look yourself in the mirror and say I couldn’t have done any more, and I couldn’t have done any more than I did.
“So, rather than celebrate, ‘Oh, these guys they played you’ why don’t you be angry with the fact these guys f***ed up the biggest fight in history and made sure that the undisputed heavyweight world championship didn’t happen.
“Ask them why the reasons are that they decided to do that.”

Fury, 32, and Wilder, 35, first drew in 2018 before rematching two years later.
It ended in defeat for the Bronze Bomber in February 2020, but their contract included an immediate rematch.
That never came to fruition amid the coronavirus pandemic and Fury’s team argued the stipulation expired in October.
As a result, they entered talks with Joshua, 31, all while Wilder took his case to civil court.
And after months the decision went his way, meaning Fury was faced with either fighting him or negotiating a step aside deal.
Both the WBC champion and Wilder had no intentions of putting together a compensation package, meaning the trilogy was on.
Hearn has since alleged Fury’s side had the chance to terminate their contract with Wilder in December, but chose not to.
And he hit back at those who relished in the demise of the biggest fight in British boxing history and argued the criticism should be aimed elsewhere.

Hearn said: “It’s mad that people almost, they want to celebrate the fact that, ‘Ah, these guys, they were just winding you up the whole time’.
“Is that really what you want to celebrate? Or do you want to say how has the fight not happened.
“Because I tell you what, all I’ve done over five months is work my b*****s off to try and make this fight happen.
“Bob Arum, Frank Warren, ‘This fight won’t happen, they’ll never get a site deal, the Saudis don’t want it in August’.
“Every excuse under the book, I dealt with all that, we got it into place with all their lawyers.
“And people talk about the arbitration, all our lawyers from all teams were on the phone finalising everything nonstop, like loads of work’s got into this.
“Months of work, so do I fee like I’ve been played? I haven’t really thought of it like that, I feel disappointed, I feel cheated.”

Watch Tyson Fury practise huge left hook in training – the punch he plans to KO Deontay Wilder with in trilogy fight

TYSON FURY was captured practising his left hook as he fired a warning out to Deontay Wilder ahead of their trilogy fight. The WBC champion is training in America ahead of his return to the ring and has heavyweight rival Wilder on his mind.

Hitting the heavy bag alongside light-heavyweight Ahmed Elbiali, Fury threw a one-two followed by TEN left hooks.
The Gypsy King has happy memories of that punch, having dropped Wilder in round five of their rematch with a double left hook, to head and body.
And he reminded the American of the very same knockdown as he uploaded a picture of Wilder on the deck.
He captioned the post: “Please don’t forget the beat down I gave you last time chump.”
Fury, 32, and Wilder, 35, will renew their rivalry on July 24 in Las Vegas after signing up for a trilogy bout.
They first drew in 2018, but Wilder was emphatically beaten in the rematch two years later.
The second fight included an immediate rematch clause but amid the coronavirus pandemic, the trilogy was cancelled.
Fury’s side then argued the stipulation expired as they instead entered talks with Anthony Joshua for an undisputed title decider in Saudi Arabia.

Wilder fought his case in civil court and a mediator last week ruled in his favour after months of talks.
Fury was then faced with either paying the former champion a compensation package or proceeding with the trilogy.

Drugs cheat Jarrell Miller helping plot Daniel Dubois’ downfall after sparring with Bogdan Dinu ahead of fight

And to prepare for the Brit, he drafted in the help of drugs cheat Miller, whose last fight was actually against the Romanian.
Dinu, 34, said: “Jarrell has a great style and I needed him for this fight. The preparation has been one of the best I have had.
“It has been a great training camp with good sparring, good coaches and I’m healthy.
“It has been good having Jarrell Miller in camp. He puts good pressure on, is heavy handed and is a strong guy. That is what I need for big fights like this.
“He is a nice guy, a funny guy and we train together. After every spar he gives me advice on what he believes will work in the fight
“I think it is a big difference between Dubois and Jarrell. Jarrell has power, skills, experience.”
Miller, 32, beat Dinu in November 2018 but has been out the ring since due to a series of failed drug tests.
It started in April 2019 before he was set to challenge Anthony Joshua, 31, for the unified titles.

But Miller was later ruled out after returning THREE failed tests for banned substances GW1516, HGH and EPO.
The disgraced heavyweight attempted to claim they stemmed from a tainted supplement and injection into his elbow to treat an injury.
Miller later signed with US promotion Top Rank but his June 2020 comeback fight was also scrapped after another failed test.
Again, it was revealed he tested positive for GW501516 – commonly used to burn fat.
Miller for a second time protested his innocence and even put the finding down to a SEX PILL and vowed to clear his name.
The only thing currently hanging above his name is a two-year boxing ban from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Fury also took Prince John James to a WWE event, where he was given the VIP treatment and met a number of wrestlers backstage.
But the training has not stopped, as he prepares for a third fight with rival Deontay Wilder, 35, set for July 24 in Sin City.
Wilder won his right to a trilogy bout with Fury after a long-drawn out arbitration case.
It prevented an undisputed title decider with Anthony Joshua, 31, but Fury has vowed to make the Bronze Bomber pay.

Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krassyuk is in talks with Eddie Hearn and growing confident his man will get a crack at the unified titles.
Krassyuk told Sky Sports: “We are in the middle of negotiations now and things look optimistic.
“As long as I am informed there are no visible obstacles to the deal not to take place, hopefully, it will be completed within the rendered timing.”
AJ has had to drastically alter his training camp in preparations for southpaw Usyk, and has started recruiting lefty sparring partners.
Fury, 32, and Joshua, 31, were closing in on a deal for an undisputed title decider on August 14 in Saudi Arabia.

Not only has he had to deal with Logan’s antics and social media jibes, the younger Paul has also done his best to ruffle feathers.
In his latest move, Jake said: “So Floyd is doing like a little interview right now on stage on this app called Clubhouse.
“I’mma sneak on stage and say, ‘got your stage,’ let’s see how this goes.”
Jake then logged into the app and cut Mayweather off by saying: “Hey Floyd, hey Floyd, hey Floyd, got your stage, got your stage.”
Mayweather, 44, replied: “OK, it’s cool.”
Jake, 24, then added: “Hey, get off the Clubhouse, my brother’s gonna beat your ass.”
Mayweather, seemingly unfazed, responded: “OK, that’s cool, anyway so like I was saying…”
Jake’s stunt was then cut short as he was moved back to the ‘audience’ section of the app, so he could no longer talk.

Logan, 26, on the other hand has boxed just twice, both against online rival KSI, the first of which was a white collar bout in 2018 which ended a draw.
They turned pro a year later, with KSI winning by split-decision, meaning Logan is officially 0-1.
