Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fight negotiations ‘a mess’ which boxing needs to learn from, slams Frank Warren

FRANK WARREN has admitted the negotiations over Tyson Fury’s fight with Anthony Joshua were ‘a mess’.Plans for a huge heavyweight unification bout were announced before dramatically collapsing with a US court ruling that the Gypsy King must first face Deontay Wilder.

That trilogy battle will take place in July and Fury’s promoter has blamed ‘agendas and egos’ for jumping the gun on the AJ deal.
Warren is quoted by the BBC as saying: “Let’s be honest, our side has been just as bad.
“It would have been better if everyone had kept quiet until it was all signed and over the line.
“Instead we got stuck in a cycle where their side said something and our side had to respond. Too many agendas and egos took over.
“Boxing needs to learn from this process.”
He added: “The whole process has been a mess.”
Eddie Hearn has come in for criticism from Warren for breaching a confidentiality clause in the Fury-Joshua contract.
The 69-year-old wants boxing to learn lessons from the saga and has dismissed talk that Wilder should be handed the WBC belt to step aside.

Tyson has to fight wilder, and be at his best, forget the BS, get the win and then knock out AJ in December.Frank Warren

He continued: “It’s easy to say throw the belt in the bin, but it has no bearing whatsoever on the judgement cast in the arbitration case.
“The judge ruled that Tyson must face Deontay Wilder a third time, title or not.
“The situation is the situation, everyone is frustrated but we are bound by the arbitration ruling so Tyson has to fight wilder, and be at his best, forget the BS, get the win and then knock out AJ in December.
“And, for anyone asking why this fight was so quickly arranged, the terms of the fight were agreed in the contract for the second fight.
“This was as simple as signing the paper.”

Following the saga, Tyson’s dad, John, slammed the ‘leeches’ in the 32-year-old’s camp for changing course.
And his claims have earned respect from Joshua, who has revealed his desire to discuss boxing over a Guinness with the 57-year-old former boxer.
AJ posted on his Snapchat, via talkSPORT: “I’ve got a lot of time for this interview, good listen.
“Some massive statements have been made if you listen carefully.
“I would want to sit down with JF, have a Guinness and talk fighting.”
Joshua is now set to face Oleksandr Usyk while Fury takes on Wilder for a third time, on July 14 in Las Vegas.
It means fans will have to wait for the heavyweight champions’ showdown, which John Fury had also wanted to see.
Tyson’s dad told BT Sport that he fears the opportunity has been lost with ‘complacency’ and ‘fair play’ an issue when facing Wilder again.

“He was fighting AJ. I wanted him to fight AJ. I’ve no interest in Deontay Wilder, so why has he got to fight Wilder?
“I told him on a phone conversation, ‘Chuck the belt in the bin. Let them have it. Come back and fight AJ on the 14th of August, like was planned’.”
Fury Sr added: “I’m just concerned whether Tyson can raise his game for Wilder.
“Whether he gets complacent, makes a mistake, I don’t know. It’s got every chance of going wrong out there.

Watch Tyson Fury unload brutal shots ‘for Deontay Wilder’s skinny body’ in training as he prepares for trilogy

TYSON FURY uploaded a clip of him unloading some brutal body shots on the bag ahead of his Deontay Wilder trilogy. And the Gypsy King took full opportunity to taunt his heavyweight rival’s ‘skinny body’ in the Instagram posting.
Tyson Fury got to work on the bag with some ferocious body shotsCredit: Instagram

The WBC champ hammered in big rights and lefts to the bag before switching up for a headshot combo.
And people seemed to be impressed with what they saw.
Ev Corrales wrote that Fury is ‘the best heavyweight of all time,’ while Eden Garside posted ‘RIP Wilder’.
Another wrote that Wilder ‘is going down inside two rounds’, with Jordan Watson wanting Fury to ‘fold Wilder in half’.
Fury utilised some devastating body shots in his stunning seventh-round KO of the previously unbeaten American.
And now on July 24 the two controversial figures will go at it for a third time.
They of course drew in their first bout in December 2018 – but most believed Fury should have been declared the winner on the scorecards.
Meanwhile Tyson’s dad John has slammed the circumstances that led to son fight with Anthony Joshua being abandoned in favour of a third match-up against Wilder.
And he is worried the Gypsy King could LOSE his trilogy bout against his American rival.

The timeline of the agreement, which was forced upon Fury after an arbitration ruling in the US, has led to dad John describing the scenario as ‘diabolical’ and a ‘mistake’.
In an interview with BT Sport, the 57-year-old blamed the American influence in his son’s camp, with some members deemed ‘leeches’.
He stated: “Tyson, obviously, is in a different league now – 20,000 yes men around him.
“This is what happens when you get to the top. There’s lot of leeches out there, a lot of hangers on.
“You can see what’s happening out there in America with him. Appalling work, to be honest with you.
    “But that’s just my opinion, I’m straightforward. That’s Tyson’s business, he’s over 21. It’s up to him.”

Boxing star Jean Pascal ‘fails drugs test for THREE banned substances’ with Badou Jack fight off leaving rival fuming

WORLD champion boxer Jean Pascal has reportedly failed a drugs test and is OUT of his big rematch against Badou Jack. The two veteran fighters were scheduled to be the co-feature for Floyd Mayweather’s exhibition fight against Logan Paul on June 6.

My fight with @jeanpascalchamp is OFF as he tested positive for 3 different steroids. We suspected he was dirty the first time around and @Vada_testing confirmed it this time. I’m still fighting on June 6th and my team is looking for a replacement opponent. Alhamdulillah 🙌🏾 pic.twitter.com/hXIw6LOF8L— Badou Jack (@BadouJack) May 29, 2021

It was a rematch of their December 2019 bout, which saw Pascal, 38, triumph on a split decision.
But according to Yahoo Sports, Pascal has tested positive for THREE banned substances – steroids epitrenbolone, drostanolone, and drostanolone metabolite A.
The news has has been met with fury by 37-year-old Jack who is now desperately seeking a replacement.
After repeating the alleged positive samples in a tweet and tagging in the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, the Swedish boxer wrote: “We suspected he was dirty the first time around and @Vada_testing confirmed it this time.
“I’m still fighting on June 6 and my team is looking for a replacement opponent.”
In their first fight Pascal floored Jack in round four, but was then flattened himself in the 12th.
However two of the three judges gave it to Pascal, 114-112, 114-112, 112-114.
That saw Pascal snatch Jack’s WBA light-heavyweight title.

But the Canadian has not fought since, while Jack had an easy night’s work defeating rookie Blake McKernan on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s draw with Roy Jones Jr in November.
After that unanimous points win, Jack called out Pascal in an interview with SunSport.
He said: “I’ve been waiting for that rematch. Everybody saw I won that fight.
“It was pushed to like June and July and then October but around that time Pascal said he didn’t want to fight me and he wanted to get paid better or his regular purse.
“Now they’re saying the first quarter of 2021. That’s the main goal, take care of business and then on to Pascal.”
But those dreams appear to have been crushed.

Speaking to TMZ, Liddell said: “He’s [Paul] not good enough to fight me.
“It just doesn’t make sense for him. None of it makes sense for this guy. He’s going to risk getting hurt like that?”
Liddell’s beef with the 24-year-old began after Paul defeated MMA star Ben Askren in April.
A fan asked the MMA legend to ‘shut’ the professional boxer up on Twitter, to which Liddell replied: “I’m ready any time for that clown.”
Paul has enjoyed a good start to his boxing career with a 3-0 pro record, stopping Askren in his most recent bout.
The YouTuber has been called out by countless fighters – including journeyman Andy Bishop and Love Island star Tommy Fury – as his internet fame will guarantee him huge pay-per-view figures.
Paul was named in the top three richest boxers on the planet in 2020, behind only Anthony Joshua and Canelo Alvarez.
The internet star is yet to fight any credible boxers, although he maintains his desire to succeed in the ring.

Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren warns Anthony Joshua to not ‘slip up’ in next fight and wants December British scrap

FRANK WARREN fired a warning to Anthony Joshua that he better not ‘slip up’ against Oleksandr Usyk and ruin a showdown with Tyson Fury.AJ has been ordered to fight his WBO mandatory challenger next while Fury has a third fight with Deontay Wilder lined up.

The British heavyweight kings looked set to meet in August in Saudi Arabia but their long-anticipated showdown fell through.
But, writing in his Daily Star column, promoter Warren said Fury still wants to fight AJ this year after he’s done with Wilder.
Warren wrote: “Tyson Fury is facing Deontay Wilder next – but let’s make it very clear now that we want Anthony Joshua in December.
“My message to Joshua is if you defend the WBO title against Oleksandr Usyk then make sure you don’t slip up.
“We will be waiting in December once Fury wipes the floor with Wilder again this summer.”
Warren also reckons that Joe Joyce could step in and face Usyk if AJ vacates the WBO belt.
But he thinks that would be a shame as it would mean an AJ vs Fury bout would not be for all four major heavyweight titles.
The promoter wrote: “There won’t be any running from Joyce as he has been patiently biding his time for that fight.
“Joyce won’t fear facing Usyk if Joshua decides he doesn’t want to face his mandatory challenger.”
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SPECIAL 40/1 FOR PHIL FODEN TO HAVE A SHOT ON TARGET

Fury’s brother Tommy also warned Joshua not to scupper the long-awaited Battle of Britain by losing to the Ukrainian.
He told talkSPORT: “You can’t let that go by. Both men aren’t ancient.
“It’s not like they’re 35 or 36, both are in the prime of their lives whether it’s going to be this year or next it doesn’t really matter.
“Both men just have to secure it from their sides. I know Tyson is going to secure it, so it’s really on AJ not to mess up like he did before.
“He’s got to take care of his business.”
Fury dethroned Wilder last February in Las Vegas to complete a remarkable return to the sport.
And Tommy is adamant his older brother will turn in a repeat performance in their Sin City trilogy fight.
He said: “Tyson’s mindset and his team’s mindset is he doesn’t care. He’s the best fighter on the planet.

“It doesn’t matter if he’s fighting Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.
“That AJ fight is going to come. He’s going to knock Wilder out this time and he’s going to wish he’d never picked up the phone to fight.
“It is what it is, he’s in the mindset now, he’s absolutely untouchable, there’s no one beating Tyson but himself, that’s just the bottom line.
“He’s not bothered about who he fights. You’re going to see the best Tyson Fury.
“It shocked all of us as it was all done and cemented.

“Everyone working with Tyson and the other side of it was all confirmed and then suddenly there was a slip up and he’s fighting Wilder.
“That just shows the craziness of boxing. When something’s nailed on it’s not really nailed on.
“You never know what’s going to happen.
“I’m sure it’s going to be a great fight again and hopefully we can see the Joshua fight before the end of the year and if not maybe next year.
“I think it will still happen as it’s too big of a fight not to happen. This is one of the biggest fights ever.”
